I was thrilled that Jax had the two ebikes I wanted in stock. It made the drive from Pasadena worth it. Even the 3.5 hours I was there to get all my accessories, get fitted and learn how to put the bikes on my new car rack was well used time. Zak took me from choosing my bikes to waving goodbye as I drove off with them. He was attentive and enthusiastic about my purchases and taught me so much along the way. I’ll gladly make the drive again once I’ve surprised my husband with his bike so he can get fitted as well.
Payton is an awesome teammate at Jax. I went in and left with the exact bike that I wanted in less than 30 minutes. I live right on Ocean and I needed a beach cruiser after my last was was stolen. Payton and the staff helped me out, took me for a test ride, and got me out the door quickly. I highly recommend.

The service was great!! They stayed open an extra hour to help me buy a brand new bike. Jonathan was very helpful. He walked me through everything and took me on a test ride showing me all the features. Definitely worth the two hour drive I took to get there.
To me, this place is the best bike shop in Long Beach. They really have great customer service that helps us decide if the bike should be right for us. Big bike shop, little expensive, I got what I needed but it took over 20 mins. Hopefully next time the employee won’t waste 15 mins jaw jacking with the female customer in-front of me. Overall it’s not my first pick of bike shop, but they have things other shops don’t.
Ive bought a few bikes from Jax LBC over the last 20 years including my recent eBikes. This is one of the better bicycle stores in Long Beach. They specialize in Trek bikes but the selection is good. I had an issue when purchasing a new bike from them recently and after voicing my frustrations, the manager along with Zac and Tommy, were able to workout a deal that will keep my business.
BE AWARE that they dont accept returns here. I wanted to return a bottom bracket and I was told that they have not been doing returns for over a year. Fine, but they need to make that clear before/during the sale.
I came in for a bike seat replacement. They had what I needed and were able to install and adjust it fairly quickly. Helpful staff. They also have a wide variety of bikes and accessories.

Purchased a road bicycle online one night at 11pm. 30 minutes before opening the next day I had confirmation that the bicycle was indeed in stock as listed and the purchase was complete as well as the bicycle safely set-aside. I was also called at opening to go over additional details which I hadnt even thought of so that the bicycle would be ready for my arrival.

Poor Quality Work. Work & parts paid for and not performed.Paid around $280 for a Peak Performance Service and a couple of misc items such as taking the factory screws out for a water bottle cage, and replace rim tape, and find whats clicking in the crank, even tipped mechanic $10.What I discovered. Immediately noticed when I picked up bike they did take out the factory screws so I could add a water bottle. Had issue fixed immediately after mechanic check if it was documented on work order.First ride noticed break was rubbing against tire (Poor Quality Work)2nd ride, found myself riding along PCH when mechanic rode beside me and heard noise still in crank (Small World)3rd ride had a flat tire, and during repair I discovered they did not replace rim tape, which was also documented on the work order & rim tape paid for.Decided I needed to give them feedback and return to shop with receipt and get refund for axle tape. Guy at register had an issue with refunding $4 and change for rim tape so I told him to stick it, well you know where and left. I followed up with a phone with Manager and shared my experience. Not a reputable bike shop, poor quality work, poor customer service.

Current date: April 17, 2021: Im curious about the $10 and $20 discounts that popped up on my phone> I was pretty excited as my bike needs some work and I know Jax isnt cheap. But when I looked at the tiny print It shows that the coupon is valid for July 3 - July 31. 2020. So perhaps that could be updated.

Classic 1976 Schwinn Breeze was inspected and adjustments, repair and cleaning performed to make the bike road ready. I had an enjoyable ride on it at CiCLAVIA on Aug 15th.
Zachary Houghton was the sales representative who assisted me with my new 2021 Trek Domane SL 6. He provided me with the best customer service Ive ever experienced. Zac was knowledgeable, caring, attentive, engaging, provided excellent communication skills, outstanding listener, patient, caring, and professional.
Matt B. was an extremely helpful salesperson. I came in knowing nothing about different types of bikes. He was patient answering all questions. He showed me several bikes without any pressure to buy. Very satisfied with my purchase. Highly recommend.
Awful experience, they have very bad customer service it took us almost 3 hours to pick up a bike and they never answer the phone. The bikes are also overpriced and the building is not the best.
Certainly not the least expensive place in town, but they do quality work, take the time to explain what is needed and why, and get the job done quickly and competently. My bike had extensive rust damage due to being stored near chlorine. They restored it better than new and gave me different options to control cost. COVID has caused them to severely limit people in the store, but they do their best to keep the line moving as fast as they can.
Jax Bicycles in Long Beach is a refreshingly pleasant and quality experience. I came in to have my Trek Marlin 6 adjusted and I immediately noticed that everyone who works there was incredibly polite and extremely professional. The store feels clean and organized. Like a well tuned bike, everyone who works there can shift between customers very smoothly. Tommy is a fantastic service engineer/mechanic who is passionate about his job and loves to share knowledge about maintaining your bike. He explained how every screw and bolt within the gear system can be adjusted and even why. To be explained a technical process so clearly and distinctly with patience is something I rarely come across. He quickly adjusted the front and rear derailleurs by starting from a baseline and working his way up. The gears feel amazing now. Zac is a great guy and he was super hospitable. He made the experience feel like youre coming over to hangout with a friend. Awesome experience all around. I highly recommend this location. Very organized.

Nonetheless, I found a PERFECT bike under my budget and a few pointers for what I’m going to want in my next bike. The service staff was amazing and got all the accessories onto my bike in the moment. The woman who helped me, Sherri, was patient, knowledgeable, and got real with me about what features I needed in this first bike. Added bonus we had a ton of fun! Would definitely recommend if you’re in the market for a new bike!

Zack was awesome in assisting me with my purchase. After my new ride was assembled a few days later he sized it for me and assisted me in putting it in my vehicle to take home. The COVID safety protocols were being enforced so I felt very safe in the store. A great place to shop, get advice, find everything for your bicycle. I’m a very satisfied customer.
We came in on Friday evening to get my 11 year old son a bike. Matt was so helpful in sizing him on an appropriate adult frame that still has years for him to grow into by adjusting the seat and handlebars. They didn’t have the 26” frame at the LB location, but they did at HB. The manager from HB delivered it to LB and they assembled it Sat morning so we could go first thing and have him test it out. He loves it. We got him a Hybrid TREK bike, it was a little more pricey than I had planned to spend, but it’s a really good quality bike and the fact that he’ll be able to ride it for several years without outgrowing it in a year or two totally makes it worth it. So happy with the purchase and the excellent customer service. Plus they were very covid safe, only allowing a limited amount of people in the store at a time to not be too crowded.
They have a great selection of bikes. Sales associates are very informative, friendly, and patient. They make sure that you leave the place happy.It was a 1 on 1 shopping experience and they took the time to answer all my questions and show me what they had available.Although I gave them a 10 out of 10, my only suggestion to make the experience even better would be to set up some kind of canopy or umbrellas outside to provide shade to the customers waiting in the stand-by line to get inside the store during this COVID pandemic. I waited in line for nearly an hour to get in on my first visit and I, along with the others waiting outside, wouldve appreciated anything to make the wait more comfortable.

Trust me....this story will be told over and over again.Fourth - Travis took the best care of me when I dropped my bike off. He was fast, friendly, professional and fun. All reasons why I prefer to do business at Jax.Fifth - my bike wax serviced and returned to me fast. I some extra $ on a new speedometer and that was done as well. Once again, Travis treated me like a gold customer. Zak was also a pleasure to deal withBottom line ....I bought this bike over 10 years ago at Jax. I was impressed with the knowledge of the people working there and the service. This visit was no different. People repeat business where they feel valued and are treated with honesty and respect.I recommend Jax all the time for this reason

Wanting to get some sun and exercise, ended up at JAX planning to buy a bike. The bike I wanted to buy was not available in Medium. I asked the person helping me if any of their other store had them in stock and was told no without checking the system. So I ended up buying the small and given a pickup date after 2 days. I get home and check online and see the medium in stock at a couple of the other locations.Fortunately the store manager was Tommy was extremely helpful. He got me the medium from one of their other stores which had them in stock. When I went to pick up the bike, he was extremely helpful. Showed me all the features an also adjusted the bike to height. Thank you Tommy for the excellent customer service.

The Covid process sucks, service is slow and we could social distance inside the store rather than lining up along the hot wall like a bunch of Third graders. How about finding a new way to work rather than taking 20 minutes to cash out each customer.
They were great. I had a hard to find size innertube tire and they were able to order it in a week.i had searched everywhere and couldnt even get it from major online shopping websites. Jax is awesome.
COVID-19 has increased demand for bikes, parts, pumps and repair services.Most businesses have changed their processes to accommodate this demand. Not JAX.Expect long lines, poorly trained staff and part shortages. Too bad. This used to be a pretty good little shop. I hope they get their act together soon with better customer service to reduce wait times and advise people in line of what to expect.

Travis was exceptional. He is enthusiastic, driven and an asset to Jaks Long Beach. After the general inspection, he eloquently explained the intricacies of my repair options along with the potential ramifications of what may be experienced by taking a particular course of action. He proposed an expected completion date and I was satisfied.He later called me the same day to notify me my repair was complete and that one of the repairs I was considering turned out to be simpler than expected, thus saving me money. Upon my arrival he provided a clear explanation concerning all the work done while at the same time expressing sensitivity to my wishes and desires. I needed a helmet and started browsing around, they had top-tier helmets but nothing less than $60. I just needed something basic, didnt have extra cash to spend on a premium helmet. On our way our the owner flagged us down and said he has some on sale for half off in the back. He walks back and pulls out what looks like a big screen TV box full of helmets.He pulls a helmet. Perfect size, perfect color, perfect style. Its got a tiny scuff on the top less than 1/4 inch long, but thats it. He said these were some of the imperfect ones left from a wholesale event.This guy is one of the best salesmen I have ever experienced. He made sure all of our needs were met including affordability, and could spot our concerns from a mile a way without us saying a word.Im not sure about the rest of the staff, but I had nothing but an excellent experience. Will be back.

Staff seemed very happy to help me, even though all I needed was a new tire tube. When the first one ripped open a couple hours after I took it home, the person that helped me went above and beyond making sure it didnt happen the second time.
When i have minor issues with my bike i can get help at Jax and the get me back on the road fast!
They don’t take returns (for a brand new, unopened item). In this day and age, how can a business survive without taking returns (or at least store credit)? Will be taking my business elsewhere.

They had all the special parts in stock that my bike needed.The staff is very knowledgeable both on the phone and in person. I was told that dismantling of the bike for cleaning, tightening, adjustments of what’s needed including lubrication of parts will make my road bike feel new in riding it again, guess what? The only difference I saw was it was physically clean on the outside but, as far as the issue I mentioned about the little noise and not normal shifting of the chain was still there. I am disappointed. I was told that I need to leave the bike for service and return the next Day but to my surprise, after just a few hours, I received a message that my bike was ready for pick up. Now I wonder if they really did dismantle the bike for proper point inspection snd lubrication and proper adjustments and tightening of everything the way it should have been done?
Went there yesterday, had a line standing outside. For safety to us and their staff..Then came close to closing time, they ushered us all in. Was not enough room to stand 6 apart. When the guy that came to assist me, he was in a rush and gave me the wrong size inner tube and the wrong brakes. My fault as well for not double checking his work. When I noticed it was wrong, I checked receipt. States unable to return due to covid all sales are final!

Not only did he track down a bike for me (nearly impossible right now), he patiently and expertly explained everything about the bike and what to expect when riding it. I am just getting into serious cycling so having someone teach me so much during this process was amazing. His enthusiasm and support were truly remarkable.
