I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service that we experienced at Long Beach Bicycle. Bob, Ceasar and Mike were all committed to helping us find what we were looking for. They won our business the old fashioned way, by listening and responding to what we said we wanted. That was refreshing. We bought a great bike at a great price.

Thank goodness Long Beach finally has a real bike shop! Mike Hammers crew are the nicest people and top notch bike techs. I brought my road bike in for a tune up and was very pleased. But the real surprise was they were able to rehab my Sandy-damaged townie with an integrated Sturmy-Archer hub. Honestly, these guy work miracles with bikes! 5 Stars Plus!

Very knowledgeable and absolutely fantastic service. Bought two bikes, a baby seat, an extra rack for the baby seat, two bells, and a basket and they set everything up for us - all we had to do was ride home. Highly recommend the “back of the bike” baby seat they sell for how easily it can be switched from bike to bike if you buy an extra rack.

Everyone was super friendly & helpful, found my perfect bike in no time. Let me test ride a couple, plus they have a 1 year service warranty which is awesome. Glad to be able to support my local bike shop!

I had such a wonderful experience shopping for a bike here. Armando helped me out and he was soo help and knowledgeable. He explained the different bike options and what was best for the type of riding I intended to do. He adjusted the seats and handle bars and let me take the bikes for a ride in front of the store which was great because I knew right away which bike was right for me. I purchased my cute new bike and he sized everything for me and made it sparkly clean right there in just a few mins. The other 2 guys were so helpful and laid back..nobody was pushy and that’s super important when shopping for something you plan on using for years! I already recommended this place to a friend, I hope she goes!

What can I say about Long Beach Bicycles? I stopped in for a simple fix for my bike chain and the next thing I knew, Maxwell, Bob, Mike, and Rich were dissembling my bike and giving it a full clean up, waxing, and the works. I walked out with a near brand new bike. Such appreciated and unexpected service. 5 stars!!

These guys are the real deal. Check the dates of the other reviews, my guess is they are from the old shop that was here.I bought 3 bikes from the previous owners and I can see how they might have been “abrupt.” The new owners, however are bike lovers and were great to deal with. I have a very high performance Specialized road bike that needed a lot of work. They did an amazing job, and communication was great, they took their time, and were very friendly even during what must be the biggest rush on bikes in the last decade!This is a totally new business, definitely well run.

This bike shop is great and the owners are amazing!! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a bike for this summer to check them out! Their prices are great and they were able to order a highly coveted beach cruiser for me all assembled and ready to go within a few weeks! They even helped me pick out a perfectly matched basket and cup holder! Love it!

Not sure why theres low ratings, I was there today and the shop is immaculate, the person helping me was great, so personable. Lots of accessories. I was really impressed, as a professional cyclist. My next stop will be to have them service my current bike.

This is no longer the same shop that was getting the bad reviews and is under new ownership and connected to Merrick Cycles. They do some nice races and good things for the community. Their pricing is fair and Ive never had a negative experience dealing with them either here or at Merrick. Nothing but good things to say and highly recommend.

I just recently purchased a bike from Long Beach Bicycle for my wife’s birthday and had a great experience thanks to the owner Mike. He was very knowledgeable, accommodating and a great guy to do business with. I actually decided at the last minute to give my wife the bike for Mother’s Day Instead. Even with the craziness of people needing bikes these days and flocking to his store, he assembled the bike for me within 24hours and had it ready for pick up! I ended up ordering a new bike for myself based on my experience with this shop. Can’t say enough great things about it and will only be using this shop for my cycling needs from now on! Stopped by on a ride I was doing from Brooklyn. I had previously changed a flat and wanted to make sure my tire was okay. They inflated it and I got a patch kit. The guys were very friendly to me and my group and even offered some group rides that they do on the weekends. Real stand up guys there.

Long Beach Bicycle has been repairing my bicycles for over 20 years. I put a lot of miles on my mountain bikes and have worn through many wheels, tires, chains and gear systems. Long Beach Bicycle shop does a great job keeping my mountain bike in top form. Herman is an excellent bike mechanic who is highly adept at making repairs and tune ups. The work that Herman has done on my bike has been consistently reliable, and I ride with complete confidence that my bike will perform when I travel over long distances. I have also purchased several bikes at this shop over the years. Rick provided great advice on how to select the right bike that matched my requirements and the type of riding I do. Rick took me through a number of bike models and made arrangements with the manufacturer to order the model with the features I selected. The bike was delivered and assembled exactly as requested. I have been very happy with the bikes I have purchased at Long Beach Bike shop. This shop can be busy, especially when the weather gets warm, as Long Beach is a biking town. Sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes while other customers are being served, but my experience has been that Herman and Rick are always ready to help as needed. I would absolutely recommend Long Beach Bicycle shop to anyone who needs a bike repaired or is looking to buy a new bicycle.

Staff are kind and helpful. Did a nice repair on my Trek. Quality selection of mens, womens and kids bikes and equipment. Definitely a nice addition to the East End of Long Beach.

Finally, a top notch bicycle sales and repair shop in Long Beach for beach cruisers, road, mountain and electric bikes.

New Long Beach Bicycles opened, after the old shop closed one year ago.I brought in two neglected bikes to be repaired. Both were completely tuned, and cleaned to like new condition mechanically, and in looks. Some parts were replaced that were worn out due to hard use. Customer service was very good, and the bike mechanic is a pro. I will continue to use this shop.

I have been a satisfied customer of Long Beach Bicycle for many years.I can walk over to Long Beach Bicycle and get a part, a used bike, a repair (on a good cheap web purchased bicycle), or a quality bicycle for a cross country trip right now.A local shop has to charge more than Amazon but convenience and expertise are worth paying for.

Im reading reviews from a few years ago, LBB was taken over by the folks at Merrick Bicycles (4.5 rating on Google) and the store is drastically different in professionalism now.I came in with a performance bike 2 years ago, in need of a new chain and other parts and was told I didnt need it and was given a standard tuneup. The next year, I took my business elsewhere.Knowing about the management change and having some riding friends who absolutely love the Merrick Store, I decided to give them a shot! My ride is an 18 year old hand me down, and I have been slowly modernizing my components to keep up with the times (with an amateurish knowledge base). The folks here influenced me to change my tire size along with my tuneup, and helped me create a more informed upgrade schedule going forward.The upselling was not aggressive by any means, and the discussion was informative and educational. My wife will be investing in a Beach Cruiser soon, and Ill be steering her in their direction!TLDR, please ignore reviews dated before 2020 as this shop is totally different now.

A new business and no accomadating at all.There not customer froendly and only want your money.I bought a lock and asked to leave 100 dollars to cut the lock off my bike because the key was lost-I said hold the 100 as security and I will be Ro th t back, or keep the 100.Of course I wanted my 100 back.He was nasty and couldnt care less.For a new owner in our town-no good will.I will never walk in there again and neither should you.

Mike and the new owners at Long Beach Bicycle are wonderful. I bought a great bike for my husbands birthday and they couldnt have been nicer or more accommodating even during this crisis.

I was shocked to see 2.5 average score after being there today and receiving 5 star service.Then I realized all the “older” reviews are from the previous store and owner as the new owners only opened in March (and to the guy who left 1 star review because a bike seat was too expensive and says he could’ve just bought a new bike at Walmart for $79... you should probably be going to Walmart instead of hurting a local business with a ridiculous review, because a local bike shop just isn’t for you)Rich was incredibly patient and helpful in helping me choose a new bike and letting me test ride all the options. And mind you, I didn’t make a very large purchase. Bought an entry level bike, but he made it seem I was buying a Tour de France bike with his information and insight. Really appreciated that.I wanted an in store experience over an online one to be able to test ride and see a feel the bike in person and was expecting to pay a little more than MSRP (which I was ok with) due to going to a local bike shopI was surprised that the prices are completely on par with the online prices and they don’t take advantage.Amazing store, amazing people. The owner Mike “Hammer” is the rudest, most condescending man I have ever met. He talks down (up) to customers and based on my experiences will say anything to get to make the sale. He is not to be trusted one bit. Zero stars if I could. Greedy, overpriced and arrogant. Not a good community partner. He’s just here to cash on everyone.BTW My last review of this man and store were taken down somehow.

Friendly and courteous. They provided a great service by installing my inner tubes for a very reasonable price, saved me from getting my hands dirty struggling with the tire and finding an air hose, never mind getting the pressure right. Now for $8 thats a bargain!

I would have to disagree with the reviews that people are leaving here, every time we have went to Long Beach bike we have had a great experience. The owner and workers come to your aid right when you walk through the door, we wanted to by a small bike for our youngest to learn on but instead of selling us a bike she would out grow in a year the worker said to use the one we had home, so the person saying they are trying to scam you doesnt know what theyre talking about. They will put the bike together and deliver it the same day you cant beat that.

They went above and beyond walked in 15 mins before closing and they still fixs my bike thank you

Customer service is a foreign concept to this Long Beach bicycle store. If you live in Long Beach and you think the convenience is worth it- think again!! From the moment I walked in I felt like a burden to the one staff member who seems to be there everyday. Every bicycle related question I asked was not worthy of his time and I ended up feeling stupid. Regardless, I bought a $530 bike. I got horrible advice on accessories and was told seat and handle bars could not be adjusted beyond what they already had been. After a week of riding hunched over with a sore back I went back in for a handle bar adjustment and was told angrily that it had already been done for me last time- liar. I had to call everyday to ask about my basket that needed to be installed that was a week late arriving, no courtesy call no UPS tracking numbers- horrible. All in I spent over $600 dollars. I hope it was worth it to them because if they continue to operate in they way they are they will be out of business soon. Advice tithe owners- your customer service sucks and if you are part of the problem them shame on you for making small businesses in Long Beach look bad!!

The only positive reviews are from people that bought bikes there and are treated well at the time or planning other purchases of bikes (not repairs). Whenmy sister caught wind of my plans she told me not towaste my time or money on it.When I returned a few weeks later with the new tubesstill in their boxes and receipt in hand I got pricing ona tube replacement for my 10 speed (the quote was fine)but when I asked for a credit on the tubes towards thework he got very rude. He said we dont returnanything!, especially tubes. When I asked him why hegave me a receipt if that were the case, he said oh thatwas only good for the first week only. I told him theowner wouldnt mind a $16 return with work being offeredand a relationship at stake .He then says any complaintscome to me for the owner. I told him I was taking mybusiness to Buddys down west he chuckled yeah give itto them.I left two messages for the owner in Garden City and bothemployees told me he would call back after his conferencemeeting and both took my telephone number, this wasnearly a week ago and no call was ever returned. The employees were nice except salesperson Michael H. He started to be sarcastic and give me one worded answers when I asked him questions. Costumers that buy a $700 bike should be treated with a little respect.

Went to several bike stores to purchase my bike, no customer service. Could care less if I purchased at all. But they were wonderful . If you care about customer service. This is the place for you. Highly recommend

I ordered my bike last week because they didn’t have it in stock I told them I had plans with the bike for Wednesday of this week (which is now today) they assured me it would be ready... and sure enough I called today and they told me my bike has not even been delivered ... if you don’t want to deal with rude people and frustration I would advise going somewhere else

Long Beach Bicycle is the best bike shop I have ever been to. Herman and the guys are amazing they know everything about bicycles and will be able to answer any question you have about buying a bicycle all the way up to repairs. They will do anything they can to fix your bicycle up. I will never go to any other bike store again.

Great customer service and a great selection

Very over priced, and not too friendly. I paid $98 for a tune up on a new bike that I mostly assembled myself. While riding home after receiving the bike the pedal popped off causing me to jam my knee. Also the brake cables dont have equal tension and the seat was loose. So basically they did nothing for $98. I wont be supporting that local business anymore

Went into the local bike shop to get a tube and tire levers, I have been biking for several years but this was my first time at this particular bike shop. I was charged 10 dollars for a regular bike tube and 4 dollars for some cheap tire levers, I understand they are a small shop but that is absurd. Unfortunately due to this fact/ the unhelpful person that was working there, I would not recommend this bike shop.

Great service and advice

I needed a new bike seat. Could of gone on Amazon and purchased one for $20.00 but needed ASAP. Went to long beach bicycle. He pulled one out and said $40.00. I said Ill take your cheapest one. He said that is the cheapest one. I offered to buy it for $20.00 and he wouldnt budge on the price. Geez, $40.00 for a bike seat? I couldve bought a new bike at Walmart for $79.00.

Rick, the owner spent a significant amount of time patiently answering questions (some of which Im sure were really stupid because were newbies) to help my husband get the right bike. I was SO happy that Rick wasnt a hard sell! We left the store with my husband knowing what he needed for his purposes. Well pick up his bike tomorrow....Had we known it would be that easy, wed have brought the truck instead of the small car so we couldve brought the bike home, today. Im sure we will go back when its my turn to buy! Thank you, LBB!

Worst bike shop Ive ever been to. The guy who owns the place is heavy set and is constantly trying to look to scam you. Wanted to charge 45 dollars to put handlebars on my bike cause I was missing a tool. He claimed thats the set rate to build a bike. He was so disrespectful when I declined to ot 45$ to put handlebars on a bike. So I called LOCAL CYCLES and the guy told me to bring it on and hell take care of it. He wound up putting handlebars and my pedals on my bike for free. I tipped him 20$ of course but the man at LOCAL CYCLES down the road is a true genuine guy.

They have an extensive line of parts, BUT I was charged 9.25 for a cruiser bike tube that would have cost me 2.00 at walmart or amazon. I will not purchase any parts from here again, I mean there is margin but they are trying to make MARGIN OFF PARTS.

Rude and obnoxious. I took my bike in for repair. Had to leave it for a week. Got a call claiming my bike was ready. Went in paid and picked up my bike only to find out it wasnt fixed at all. I went back and the man said my bike was s waste of his time and not worth the money. Not very nice and terrible customer service.
