Vinnie AKA Hammer is the best guy ever. He is always there to help us and always puts his customers first. Vinnie is always a happy guy and a big jokester (best part about him). Best range I’ve been to in NJ hands down. Extremely friendly and comfortable. Also a legit shop and one stop if you need anything. I’ve been around the state and the vibe of ShoreShot is top notch. There are a number of closer ranges and I don’t think twice about taking the drive to SS!

I have been here several times. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the range cadres will help you with any technical questions, you can rent a weapon on the spot or bring your own. They will even clean your own weapon for you after your done for a small fee. I took my daughter here with her friend and taught them how to shoot, it’s a great range to learn. I highly recommend this place.

I stopped by the range to discuss my interest in an AR-15 style firearm that is NJ compliant. I explained to Kyle what I was looking for and he immediately recognized that the gun I was describing fell between a rifle and a pistol or the so-called ‘other’ category in NJ. He then proceeded to show me the exact set-up I was looking for from a highly respected company that had just arrived at the range. Everyone I dealt with was highly knowledgeable and very efficient at completing the paperwork and getting my background check started. They even laminated my firearms ID card during the process of completing the purchase. The knowledge, experience, and customer service was outstanding and could not have been better. I will definitely be doing business with them for my firearm purchases in the future. Very well run knowledgeable shop that deserves a 5 start recommendation!!

I was there today with my buddy. The staff was friendly, range master Paul was a good guy. He saw my buddy was having some issues with his Desert Eagle and he helped him out. He adjusted his sights, and did some cleaning for him. It was a great experience for it being my first time. I will be back again sometime next week to purchase my own handgun.

I just wanted to send a thank you out to Danny for the training class my wife, daughter, and myself attended last Sunday.It was very informative. Danny class gave them confidence and a new perspective on firearms.They were always hesitant about them.He made my wife and daughter feel very comfortable being it was there first time using a weapon. He took his time and was very patient with them. He explained things in detail, answered all questions, and gave them a good sense of security about firearms. Im glad they came with me, and Im glad you have an instructor of his expertise at the range.

Im giving 4 stars because everyone here at Shore Shot are very helpful and knowledgeable. The range is kept very clean and is a nice place to shoot at. Garrett the range instructor was fantastic. Very informative and full of knowledge to pass on to us newbies.. Only advice I would give someone new coming in is there is a shortage on ammo right now so it is very expensive. And obviously there are all different sized shells depending upon the gun so not all ammo is priced the same for each gun. We left the gun choice up to the gentlemen checking us in and was a little surprised when just the ammo was $183.00. So again I would advise to find out how much the ammo will be for the gun you are choosing so you are not caught off guard. Other then that Shore Shot is a great place to come and learn how to shoot or for an experienced shooter.

Well I gotta tell ya, I came in on Saturday to make a purchase and you guys are awesome. The wait to get in wasn’t all that bad, had some friendly conversations outside with some folks so it was all good. And the guys working inside are f@$king great. Ive been to a few ranges across the state and in Pennsylvania, and Ive had the best experience here. First off when I walked through the door on a Saturday after noon and saw the places crowded I figured I was going to have to fight for some help to get a range rental and a lane. Scott saw me and gave me a sign to hold on 1 minute as he finished up with his customer. Had a great conversation with him and has some recommendations on a fire arm for my wife as she was looking. I just cant emphasis enough how polite and nice everyone was. Rangemasters gave my wife some pointers and tips that I failed to jump on, all without being intrusive. Huge thanks to Scott (sales) for the help and recommendations. I WILL be back.

This place is awesome, they have very helpful staff. I dropped off an non compliant ar kit which they welded a muzzle break (that I was able to purchase in the store) pinned the stock and shaved the bayonet lug to make it all Jersey compliant and I have to say they did a very nice job, had it all done in a few days. Thank you to the armorers and staff for all your help and professional work. I am very satisfied with the work, well worth the money.

Good service and good stock for the times. Somewhat understaffed, creating wait times and some confusion, but good experience overall once you get in the door.

Place is great! Guys are all laid back, unless safety related. Very good for novice shooters just starting off, as staff is knowledgeable. Theyre very open to being asked questions, even if its your own equipment you bring. The last time I was there a while ago, someone seemed like the gun jammed (I dont know for a fact) but range master went right out and passively took the gun from them, and fixed it. This is what new shooters, and even veterans that might slip up, need. Saved the guy (or the guy next to him) from a probable accidental discharge. Great job guys! Glad youre open for range again!

Great experience and services by varies staff. Ive been going there on and off due to my work schedule. But every time Ive been there, the staff that Ive encountered are friendly and helpful. At times, theyre overwhelmed with other customers, but you need to be patient. Its your local mom and pop business, and the staff is doing their best to accommodate everyone. Prices are reasonable what and wide selection of firearms. If you plan on stopping by, say Hi to Kyle, Bill, Joe and Dylan. Theyre a bunch of wonderful staff to talk to.

Im revising my last review from December 2020, because I noticed when I went today and last week they increased their Covid-19 safety protocols. The added a sign in kiosk outside so they can social distance correctly inside. I notice all of the staff is wearing their face mask correctly. The staff is always friendly and helpful in the store and on the range, I recommend being a member.

You’d be a fool to go anywhere else. Hammer is one of the nicest/ funniest salesman I’ve ever dealt with. I told them I had a budget and he helped me stay inside of it. Highly recommend these guys

Great shop and range. They are insanely busy right now because of covid restrictions and the current demand for all things 2nd amendment (dont vote against it if now you want it so bad btw). However, they are working hard and when you are working that hard it takes a lot of energy to still be pleasant and accommodating, which they have been. Been a customer for years and always a pleasant experience.

Shore Shot has evolved very well over the years. It is conveniently located and they have great hours. They are now much more than just a pistol range. You can rent a gun from their great assortment of firearms and head to their refurbished indoor range. You can bring your own gun(s) and use the range. But wait, there’s more. The staff is fantastic! They don’t have the typical gun shop attitude. They will help you select the best gun for you - yes they sell guns as well. I bought a new pistol and figured that it might take me around 20 rounds to zero it in. Well, a staff member took the gun and adjusted the dovetail rear sight for me. No charge. I then took it to their range and my very first shot was perfect - accurate at 7yds, 10yds and 20yds. I fully expected to have their gunsmith fine tune the sights but their staff did it in 5 minutes. BTW - I’m told you can now use rifles at their range so I’ll be heading back with my AR. Shore Shot is really a great place. Thanks guys !

This place is very unprofessional. My friend and I who came here for the first time were told that once we put our name and number on the kiosk we would be called when it’s our turn. We waited over an hour in the car and never got called and when we came back to the front the other people waiting told us they had just been letting everyone come in if they were there to shoot (what is the point of a list if they are not following the order??) the employee was very rude and rolled his eyes when I asked him what was going on with the list. I will not be coming back and not recommending this place to anyone.

A few months ago I went here for the first time. It was my first time holding a gun, and though I was nervous the guys behind the counter were extremely helpful and accommodating. I have shot multiple different guns here and the guys never hesitate to give you a demo. They truly want you to have a good experience, and they even tried to check if we were eligible for a discount based on our occupations. It isn’t a cheap day, costing us probably $80 each, but the quality of the range and service make it worthwhile. We will be returning for their anniversary day to get some discounted memberships. I couldn’t ask for a better range experience, and I am glad to have found my interest in shooting through Shore Shot.

Great place but you cant use ammo with steel casings. They were charging 39.00 for a box of .40 cal. Friendly ppl

The Best range in ocean county

The range I go to most often. Laid back staff, so its a good place to go if you just want to get some quick practice on your own guns. Havent purchased any firearms from them yet, but I did inquire about a Mosin-Nagant, and they said they could get one for me without any problem, so maybe next year Ill take them up on it. Overall a great place.

The range master Ray, Timmy and all the guys at Shore Shot are incredibly helpful! We are beginners and always feel like we can ask questions and get the help we need to become more proficient and safe while learning. We even bring our teenage boys with us and Ray is always there to help them and inspire them to learn more about each gun and how to handle them. When you walk in, they make you feel welcome and like you are family. Highly, highly recommend Shore Shot.

Shore shot is one of the only non member friendly ranges in the area. Plenty of lanes, fair pricing on ammo (comparable to other gunshops)- and excellent staff and range masters that are actively participating in engaging with newcomers- and growing relationships with return clients.Would recommend to anyone looking to utilize a range as a non member/not frequent range goer.

The armourer was paid to replace a stock sight on a hand gun with a better version. He replaced it but didn’t put the new sight in the right spot so now I have to go to another shop and readjust the sight. If you need any work done on your firearms, stay away from this place.

Went to the indoor range on 8/5/17 with my girlfriend. Although it was getting slightly busy when we arrived Dan was attentive and pleasurable. We rented 2- 9MM and box of ammo which came to almost 90.00, 28.00 of that for a box of ammo-Yikes! That is my only complaint about this place.This was our first time shooting. When we went into the range Mike, he is the man had the most superb customer service I have encountered in a long time. He was knowledgeable, helpful, super friendly and funny. Mike makes you feel at home and at ease because of his approach and humbleness. I would def return again and I hope Mike is there too, I hope you guys encounter Mike on your visit, he ROCKS..Def recommend this place.

Stopped in on a whim because I was up that way, went to the counter and asked for cheap range ammo.$24.95 for 50 rounds of 9 mm FMJ???5 miles up the road, $1195.Not for nothing, but I get 50 rounds of 9 mm critical defense hollow point 147 grain for less than $24.95Edit to respond to owner: I wasnt told 1995, I was told 2495. As far as with a firearms ID card, of course I have a firearms ID card It is the only way you can buy 9 mm ammo you should know that.I dont want to pay for insurance or instruction, I just want to pay for ammo so I can go out to my own little corner of the world and murder some cardboard.

Visited a few times. For the first time, I brought my legally purchased brand new SW M&P 9mm. I was nervous since I hadnt shot a gun in several years and wanted to make sure I didnt injure myself or anyone else. They were extremely helpful on providing me with a video to watch as well as the Range Master took his time to show me the ins and outs of using my own gun for the very first time. Every time I go they are super friendly and knowledgeable!

The best range Ive ever been to

Went there yesterday with some friends and it was my first time at a gun range. The staff were exceptionally professional and very helpful. I had 2 instructors showing me how all the tricks and most importantly how to stay save. I had an amazing few hours and I cant wait to go back !

They are friendly and helpful. I needed some help with a complicated weapon and targeting in a set of optics. They were awesome and refreshed us enough with the weapon to where everyone was comfortable. Best place Ive been to in NJ.

My wife and I have gone to Shore Shot quite a few times and have always enjoyed ourselves on the range. The first time we went neither of us had fired a handgun before and the range masters could not have been nicer, more informative, or more helpful. It was exactly the experience you hope for when trying something out for the first time. In addition the range master was EXCITED about us getting into shooting and told us about some external sources, books and classes, to expand our knowledge about safety and ownership. Often you dont think of the instructor excitement level, but would you really feel safe sky diving or bungee jumping if the instructor was well informed but indifferent to your experience?

I have never had a bad experience in my time going. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and the selection of firearms is excellent.

Went here with a groupon with 3 of my friends. We walked in, they were super helpful and answered many questions. Weve never really shot before and they taught us all the safety and proper usage on the weapons. Very nice and cool staff, definite recommendation. Especially for first time shooters!!
