Although the staff is nice upon your initial visit the prices even with insurance are ridiculous. Not to mention at 4 months of owning the glasses and one of the lenses just popped out. Also don’t attempt to call them and get your pupil distance, as they will refuse to share that information with you since they don’t want to let you order glasses anywhere else. Shouldn’t that be our info to have? Our eye doctor refused to help as well when you know she can measure pupil distance. Hope she gets a decent kickback from this place given how much they charge for garbage and refusing to share info. We won’t be returning.
Very helpful staff. Dr. took his time and did a thorough eye exam. Brittney helped me pick out a nice pair of glasses and offered amazing deals I couldnt turn down. She also repaired a old pair of glasses for me.
Dr. Roberts was very thorough and explained things that no other optometrist has. Nancy helped me select just the right pair of glasses. She gave me her opinion and calculated costs for several pairs before I made a decision. They both went above and beyond.
Great selection of glasses that I was able to choose from and they were extremely friendly. I would highly recommend them and hope that the next time I go for my eye appointment, that its that one at the Target plaza and not the MY EYE DR. all the way on the south end near where the old Wal-Mart used to be at (Now Staples & I think Planet Fitness.).

My wife and I are disabled, due to my wifes upcoming surgery, they requested an eye exam. Got the eye exam no problem from pcp office.Tried to get glasses from here turned away after they canceled her appointment (dont understand why they canceled the appointment), told we can only come in between 4-6. For most people this is not a problem, like I said we are both disabled. My wife is unable to get about after 2pm due to her meds. Tried to explain this to the staff, but were told only available from 4-6pm and if we wanted we can come in on Friday. Now I told the staff she will be in nurosurgery by 8am Friday. I was told sorry we cant make an accommodation. Since she will be in the hospital for the next 3 weeks we made the appointment so that there will be no problems a month in advance.Im sorry but every business i know is making special accommodations for disabled people and vulnerable people. I just dont understand why just to pick out and order bifocals for a severely disabled woman under insurance, that a little accommodation could not be done.Well I guess we will have to find another place to do business with since accommodation of this sort is not available.Have a nice day
I called over 4 places an even went to walmart an everyone was 3 weeks out an didnt even want to check out my problem i was having that I was worried because one eye was getting very brured an was bothering me.. 1 call to Optical Outlets not only did they get me in but was very polite an very helpful an answers most questions be4 you have a chance to ask an that I feel is great customer service .. The Dr. Was great an found my problem with one visit an fixed me up an was more conserned about my eyes than i was an my friends is Love an passion of his job thats what America needs more of.... Absolutely ridiculous I took my wife to her appointment today at 12 and sat there no one even spoke to her just waited in the waiting room until 130 and she asked how much longer to be seen and was told an hr. Maybe more after waiting and hr and a half already with and appointment not good visit had to leave a reschedule hopefully it will be better next time .

Went in for an eye exam last year ( -wanted to check my vision before going to transfer my out of state drivers license)I had no issues with my vision, however I thought it best to get the checkup. I had concerns about this-I Was TOLD, No Problem, if I am NOT Happy with them, I can RETURN THEM. LIE ! Went back, the girl took them into the back, made marks on them, she said she made adjustments... What adjustments??Either the SCRIPTWAS WRONG or I didnt NEED These Glasses. I WAS REFUSED A REFUND! This place has No customer service, the staff is Not Trained. I gave 1 star-If I could, it would be 0. I went to a real eye doctor, got an exam, told my vision was good. They mixed up the appointments and had me re do the eye exam because the previous lady didn’t save it and on top of that they had me waiting for over an hour!
My eye Dr retired and I wasnt happy with the company that bought his practice so I read reviews and made an appointment here. I definitely agree with the positive feedback. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved the Doctor-she was also friendly and down to earth/relatable. I felt very comfortable here. I will definitely be back!! Im so happy with my new contact lenses prescription.

Went for an eye exam and BOUGHT a pair of glasses that were extremely overpriced.. called to get my prescription information from them & was told they couldn’t give me my pupil distance.. even though they had it. They just don’t want you to buy glasses elsewhere.Do not go here!!!!!
I am very happy with my experience. The Doctor was very attentive and the customer service was wonderful. My sales rep Brittney was very knowledgeable and extremely patient in helping me choose my frames. I really like my new glasses! I am giving 3 stars because Barbara Miller O.D. did an excellent job with my yearly examination. As for everything else, they only had high priced frames to choose from and they did not even try to stick to the 99.00 special that they have. Also, their exam is 69.00 but they charged Medicare 156.00. I have titanium frames from last year that are in excellent condition and inquired about getting the lenses changed instead of getting new frames. They want 130.00 to do one pair and yet would sell me a pair of cheaply made metal (of God only know what kind of metal) for the 99.00. Even then, the price they quoted me was over 200.00. The other thing is, I was on their website and looking at frames that were a lot less than what they had in the store. I had all of my prescription details except for the PD. I called to see what they had when they measured me at the store. They refused to give me that information. This means that they put frames up on their website to order online, but refuse to help anyone who wants to purchase online. This seems like a new form of bate and switch to force people to come and pay more. I like the doctor, but their sales people stink. All they care about is sales.
I always have a hard time picking out glasses plus I can not see while trying them on because I have such a high RX. Brittney was wonderful, I knew I was able trust her advice in different styles that I would not normally pick out for myself and I LOVE my new glasses I have had so many compliments on both pairs. The prices were unbeatable I was able to get 2 pairs with everything you can possibly get on glasses for 1/2 the price I would pay for one pair were I went before. I am very pleased with all the staff there everyone is so nice. I would refer anyone.
I am truly surprised to read all the bad reviews. The first time I purchased glasses from this office was in 2008. I was very happy with both the frames, lenses and service and the optometrist was knowledgeable and helpful. I went elsewhere in 2012 and was hugely disappointed, had constant problems and paid over $500 for a single pair of glasses trying to get exactly what I wanted. This time I went back to Optical Outlet, the optometrist, a different person this time, was extremely knowledgeable, and for the first time since 2012, I have glasses and contacts I can see out of correctly. No more headaches and strained eyes. Last place had the prescription too strong. This time great pair of frames and glasses, and in my opinion, the workmanship on the lenses is the best Ive ever had along with a supply of my contact lenses all for a great price. So much so, when my son needed new glasses a few weeks ago, thats where he went based on my experience. He was extremely happy with them as well. Im sorry to read that others had bad experiences.
My husband had an appointment. He had to wait. They did have chairs spaced outside for patients.
Did not receive a thorough exam. They never checked my reading Vision, instead they just decided to go with what was in bedded in my old glasses which I don’t understand. They have horrible frame selections very cheap. The customer service is terrible as well. I actually heard someone talking to a customer on the phone and said “hold I need to check with my manager “and then put the customer on hold and never checked with anybody and then went back to the customer. You have a choice for your vision care and I would not choose this place if I were you.
It seems the two pairs for $99 or now for $49 are just the cheap plastic frames. Ive had mine for months now and the quality of the lenses are disappointing. I paid almost $300 and my left lanes is already scratched and I dont feel like I can see all the print I should. My last pair from Walmart was higher quality

This place is ridiculous i came at 11 for an appointment at 12 i was still waiting to be called people came in after me and still walked out before me. It’s ridiculous to set an appointment and have to spend way more time at a place than you should our time is valuable and shouldn’t be wasted but if you arrive late they won’t have time to take you and that’s very messed up for us the customers that provide them with a job and business. I’m very disappointed and won’t be back at all.
I was just there this morning /afternoon. Customer service is atrocious. With insurance they did not recognize the insurances contractual rates and agreements. I was misquoted as I was presenting my insurance card. Horrible customer service . Would not go back. If you do, please Che k with your vision plan to make sure it was processed correctly. Very sketchy office.
This store is by far the best Optical Outlet in the area. I drive from Tampa because of the customer service from the staff and the professionalism from the store manager. All of the employees are also very helpful when picking which frames fit your face best. And the prices and selection is fantastic.
I’m soo happy & grateful I found this place!!I’ve had the same eye doctor for the last 2yrs & my vision was still horrendous. I finally took a chance & came here and let me tell you the BEST thing I ever did!!😃The Doctor helped me with my problem immediately identifying the issue & rectifying it for me.I just picked my glasses 2 days ago & I’m not kidding u it’s like seeing everything in crisp HD!!Oh! And my glasses were FULLY covered by my insurance NO OUT OF POCKET FEES!Last but certainly not least the Staff is courteous, super friendly, welcoming, INFORMED (they actually can give u advice!) knowledgeable on all the frames I asked about & very accommodating.I’m sooo happy! I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who wants high level professional services with great prices.I tell u I sincerely recommend this place as THE EYE PLACE to go! 🤓

I highly recommend Optical Outlet for your eye care. I found the staff members to be very organized and competent for being such a busy office. Great selection of eyeglasses to choose from too! I also found Dr. Renaud very thorough and knowledgeable.
Excellent visit . Knew already that I needed new glasses. we were in and out in 30 minutes. They called a week later and said my glasses were in. They were perfect. And best of all, no up charge for the progressives!!!

HelloI had an exam and glasses made but the stigma is off. I had previously had glasses done at an other location and there fine. Optical outlet manager said the other location should not have change the prescription of the glasses without there knowing. Optical outlet never gave the the prescription for the glasses, Now they want the prescription form the other place i had my glasses done and wear there glasses for a week and come back in a week with prescription to have the glasses redone
I had a 12:40 pm appointment. When I signed in every other name was crossed out so I was next to be called. After waiting an hour I started to complain. An associate then measured me for the glasses I had picked out. I did not see the doctor till it was almost 2 pm. She appologized and said they had slipped in some people ahead of me. But the associates said they took care of people because the doctor was behind. Not true! They waited on others who came in after me. I did not get out of there till almost 2:30.I will not be going back to them.This is the second time I have had trouble with this office. The first time is when I got my glasses I could not see out of them. I took them back to the store and spoke to the Manager. The Manager insisted the prescription was correct and it was me. I kept stating I could not see out of these glasses and they were incorrect. She then informed me they would put new lenses in but if they did not work then I would have to pay out of pocket. I do have insurance that covers my glasses. So I have a pair of glasses I have never worn because I can not see out of them. hello.....Im on the other side of the lens and should know whether or not if I can.DO NOT GO TO OPTICAL OUTLETS FOR YOUR GLASSES. VERY POOR SERVICE
My glasses were demolished by a child and I needed a new pair ASAP. They were able to help with my insurance information and get me scheduled for an appointment. Now I can get a new eye exam and glasses. The lady on the phone was super nice and helpful.
I have personally gone to Optical Outlets North for my vision needs for about four years now. My young daughter sees a specialist, however, we buy her lenses and frames through Optical Outlets. Brittney and Stephanie are wonderful and call my daughter by name each time we come in. I have never had a negative experience here.

11/7/8 - Over a 20min time frame, myself and 3 parties walked in separately and not even acknowledged. When finally called upon, got a snarky rude “Auburn” who was highly dismissive. I’ve already paid for the glasses I’m simply picking up but I gurarantee you, we will not be back. Still continuing to wait while the rude one is off somewhere....
I got really cute Bebe frames from here for a low cost through my insurance and my antiglare has a one year warranty on them in case they start to peel. The customer service is great!
Second year in a row they have messed up my glasses. Last year they lied about adding features to my glasses like tint. They said my insurance wouldnt let them and it wasnt true.This year they were my only option through insurance, they have made them 3 times, would not listen to me that they were wrong. Now they are refusing to fix them because I got mad and told them how I felt. My insurance is forcing them to remake the glasses again. Manager is a kid that doesnt know how to dial the phone to talk to my opthamologist. If you have any other option, use it.
They did a great job getting me in and out for my exam. The one thing that I didnt like was no one told me what frames my insurance covers so I had no idea what I was looking for until they called me up to discuss the payment plan even though they already knew my insurance and all that but over all the service was good.
I have never had such a good experience having my glasses and contact exam before !I have worn glasses my whole life in this experience I wanted to go back to glasses and contacts. Dr Miller tried 4 times to get my vision straight and to her grace and professionalisam she figured it out ! SheAnd the Brittney worked verywell together and to Brittney I must say was truley concerned what the problem was andDr.Miller explained it to us both that my vision was different from glasses to contacts!AND SHE WAS WRIGHT ! I now am able to wear contacts as I wish along with being able to wear glasses and feel very little difference !So if you are trying to make a decision if this is the place for your vision needs I must say I would recommend Optical Outlet of Lakeland Thank You!Mark

It was my first time getting glasses and seeing a eye doctor . Without any knowledge of how this process works normally . I dared to enter the front doors. Without a set appointment date I was a walk in . In about a hour and giving my health insurance card, I saw the doctor. Not bad I thought, Eye test was ok no problems with the Doctor, Just the front desk helpers, That dont know how to communicate information properly or inform you of any process about to happen. So after 2 1/2 hours and a lot of Upgrades I wanted. It cost $1064.00 for my first pair of eyeglasses after insurance I owed $200.68 . 9 days later my glasses came in . I told the front desk Helper I thought the exit sign at the back of the store was a glairing. She recommended to bent the $200.68 frames so they would fit better, I said ok thinking this kid knows what they are doing . Now I got bent frames and they dont sit on my face right anymore and one of the arms is loose with a space between the frames. and the one ear holder is digging into my skull .I didnt think front desk help could make repairs .Do they have schooling in this? Wrong Idea to trust them. plus I had them for a few days now I dont even think they are trifocals like I order no middle vision Im going to demand a new pair now. And never go back.
This place is horrible!First off they didnt call us when our glasses were ready, we had to call them. Then they gave the wrong prescription from 1998! They had told him it just needed to adjust.So when he finally got them to check them they told him it would be ready on monday. Then changed to tuesday then said theyll actually be ready thursday or Friday!Horrible!!!!!!
