Emissions test for license plates renewal. These guys are great! They know what they are doing, they are honest, and they are on time forappointments. I have never been disappointed when I have had the car in for anything. I trust them and you cant say that about a lot of places.

Had tires put on and a alignment done. Car wasn’t steering correctly. Return to shop for a check up on why this was happening. They checked the alignment again and it seemed to be right but still didn’t trun correctly. They told me to take it to the dealership and have them check it and do a alignment if it was not right. And bring the receipt to them and they would pay for it. Did what they said to do and brought the receipt to them. Payed for the alignment with out any questions. I feel that this had nothing to do with there work at all. I really believe that the alignment machine just needed a calibration. It happens. There’s no way to know it is not right if it is not checked out and calibrated. Which I do believe that they do have it calibrated. Just a freak thing. I really appreciate there interest in fixing the issue. Will return for other service here. Thanks again for the perfection of your work.

Combs gave me the best experience I’ve ever had at an auto repair shop. Not only were they personable, welcoming, and informative, they were also honest with their work and talked through everything with me. I had 3 separate problems on my vehicle (a wheel mishap from taking it to a cheap tire shop, EGR valve insufficient flow code, and my catalytic converter was stolen). They fixed two of the issues (EGR and tire) quick and easy, ensuring I knew exactly what was needed and how much it would cost. Combs was recommended to me by a friend last year to get some tires put on and since then I havent taken my car there a few times and only there and will most likely continue to use them exclusively whenever possible. The people at this shop are always so nice and pleasant. They will never try and sell you something you dont need. We are a one car family and have had some emergencies come up where the car needed to be seen right away and they always do whatever they can to get it taken care of as soon as possible and most of the time even that day when we have been in that situation. On the flip side of that coin if they cant do something for you when you need it dont they have always said that they just couldnt work it in and havent ever told me they coul get something done in a time frame they couldnt. I think they have very fair and honest pricing and they havent ever charged me more than what they told me it would be. I truly believe that they have your best interest at heart unlike so many auto shops that just want to take your money and run. I have only found two shops in the st.louis area that I have felt this way about and combs in definitely one of them!

I was impressed that the shop was able to get me in and out in such short notice. My car failed its safety inspection because the front tires were bald and the place I had it inspected couldn’t get tires for my car for three or four days. This meant having to take more time off work for me, so I called a couple places and Combs Auto/Tire Service was able to schedule me at 3:30pm that day and finish before 5:00pm.The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

My daughter hit a curb and was also complaining about her blower not working for heating and air conditioning. They were able to replace her tire, wheel, and fix the blower in a very timely manner and for a very fair price. Great communication and very friendly. I will definitely be using them again.

It may look old, decaying, and even creepy, but this is actually one of those gems—a responsible, family-owned, trustworthy, reliable, and community-centered establishment. We go here for every service they offer—even oil changes—because even if we might find a coupon or a cheaper price elsewhere, its hard to find such friendly and professional service.Combs does not try to upsell you or trick you into paying for anything superfluous. In fact, theyre more likely to write it off or charge you less if it turns out to be something that cant fix or didnt need to fix. They arent in business to squeeze money out of you, but simply to do a good job.Moreover, they are in a convenient location, despite having a rather small parking lot, so its easy to drop off your car and go shopping in the nearby plaza or else take the bus somewhere else. (I dont know whether or not they have a shuttle service simply because Ive never had to use it.)Lastly, while its best to make an appointment well in advanced since they are busy, theyre always willing to squeeze people in whenever they can. So, for example, if you just need a simple emissions test they will often work you into the schedule somehow.

Thankfully I live less than 2 minutes away from combs...I say that bc as nice as this family is, I would travel miles to get to ✅ mbs for the service I receive. I say family instead of employees bc they never make me feel like Im walking into a business to spend money, but more like a group of uncles and brothers ready to calm my nerves, and remind me my vehicle is in excellent care. Theyve worked on my vehicle numerous of times, and with almost 270,000 miles on the dash....its a reflection on how they take care of a vehicle no matter how old it is. High Recommended for their honest. My most recent visit was due to some major signs of engine failure, expecting to fork over a few hundred, I walked out with a $50 charge...thats how honest this family is. They could have charged me much more bc I told them I expected to spend a lot...This is called HONEST WORK. it was a small problem that I overlooked.

I can not write enough good things about Combs. I have going to them for years to take care of the tires for my last several cars. Specifically, they have changed winter/summer tires, performed nail removal/tire repair, and installed new tires. They have always been professional, transparent, and incredibly trustworthy. Do yourself a favor and take your car to Combs.

Though there are dozens of mechanics within 5 minutes of where I live, I drive 20 minutes to get to Combs. Combs is such a fantastic auto mechanic shop, I am hesitant to leave the stellar review they deserve, because I know it will result in increased volume and waiting times for me! Nevertheless, I must say, if youre looking for a trustworthy, honest, and affordable mechanic, Combs is your place. The guys there are super, super friendly, and Ive never felt pressured by them to get unnecessary work done on our cars. Weve had breaks done on a CR-V and a Highlander, an engine repair and tire rotation on our CR-V, and routine oil changes performed on both vehicles. I never felt price gouged, and the work was always done according to industry standards. When we first moved to STL, our CR-V broke down and I had it towed to Combs on the recommendation of my friend. They were able to get my car up and running the next day! The one thing (though its not really a negative) is that they are always quite busy, because, no-doubt, the locals have discovered the quality of their shop. Nevertheless, they have many garages and mechanics, so it never takes very long to schedule an appointment. Once your cars in the shop, its done in a matter of days. Great shop, and truly glad to have found my mechanics in St. Louis!

Combs was very direct w/ what my car needed and very through and 100% honest. I loved my service w/ them. I will 100% be going back to them for all of my future car needs.

I had to tow our car to Combs because it wouldnt start. They checked examined the car electrical system & found that the only problem was a weak battery. We approved them to replace the battery with a new Delco battery & also replace worn wiper blade. They also reset the radio code so it would operate and had all work done in half a day. We used their excellent Covid delivery service to return the car to our home. Again,Combs service was outstanding.

These guys are awesome! My car wasnt starting and I called them looking for a place to get it done quick and once I found a jump I made my way over. They managed to find time in their schedule to get to me that night so I didnt miss work and I got my car back, new battery installed, same day. I couldnt have asked for better service. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I was so excited to do business with this shop.. Been looking for a trustworthy shop and this one had great reviews. Called on a Thursday and told them what part I needed replaced per Ford dealership. Combs quoted me a price, so I made appt for their next available day, Monday. Everything was great. Dropped car off and left. Until they made a mistake. They werent prepared to do the job, nor did they honor their quote. Thats just dealing with the front desk. You cant get to the back of the shop, if you cant get past the front. Maybe they should be combing through their mistakes.

My battery was dead at home, and after being jump-started I was able to drive directly to Combs as a drop-off.They were able to squeeze my car into their schedule for the day.I had a new battery installed in Aug. 2019, so the exact cause of the dead battery was undetermined at this time, but they charged it, and had the car up and running by 4:30.It is a pleasure to do business with all of the folks at Combs.They are honest, trustworthy, and provide excellent service.This is especially important for the ladies bringing in their cars, who might not know what happens under the hood past the key and starter.But thats OK, because the folks at Combs will guide your repairs in the right direction, for a reasonable cost.

Being a “car guy”, I’ve had them install sets of tires that I purchased online on a couple of cars now. They really know their stuff and care to do the job right. They hand-torqued the lugs (no torque sticks, which can be less accurate). They also called me to ask how much air pressure I wanted in the tires! TPMS sensors were no problem on my car that had them.They also clearly support the local community. This is the kind of business I wholeheartedly recommend.

During Stay at Home orders they picked up my car, did all the necessary work and dropped it back off at my home. Completely wiped down to make sure everything was safe. Was recommended Combs by a friend a few years ago and Ive never looked back. Im not a car guy, so in the past I was always reluctant to take my car in to a shop as Ive heard so many stories of people being taken advantage of. Took my friend to pick up her car. They closed before she got off work. They said they would put the key under the mat, she clearly told them DO NOT LOCK THE CAR BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER KEY. They locked the car. After waiting 1.5 hours for AAA, the tech could not open the car, so finally got home without her car almost 10 p.m.... Will have to go back in the morning, Combs will get an earful, and my friend will leave on her road trip 5 hours late at least. Not at all happy.

Anyone can put on tires (for the most part), so you need something to separate you from the pack. Combs does this with fantastic customer service. I called about tires, Scott the owner personally talked with me, he did some looking, asked to call me back, he did in short order. He researched my needs and gave me some options. He found great tires for me. I was very happy. Honestly, Combs is out of the way for me to get there, but its worth the drive. They have a 4.9 rating, and for good reason.

Great experience here getting new tires. I inquired on their website and they called me with a quote (realized after the fact I told them the wrong trim level on my car- oops). The night/morning drop was safe and easy. They called with a few more recommendations for work and asked if I wanted to keep the old tires. So far, I am very happy with my new Nexen tires. Just got an alignment done in my truck here and they did a great job! It drives smoother and very straight now. They also showed me how 2 of my ball joints are failing and I will need to replace those soon. Will definitely recommend!Well I would maybe recommend. My alignment was good. Then my truck ended up breaking down. Had it towed to Combs. They said Monday they would have it diagnosed and they booked time to fix it. Monday came and went. Tuesday and and went. Wednesday came and went. Finally Thursday they found time to get to it. I guess oil changes and alignments come first. I had to pay for a rental truck each day out of pocket and had told them that Wednesday. So Thursday they get to it and tell me it needs a computer. I take it upon myself and replace 2 sensors. Starts right up and I drive it home.Im a little sceptical of this place. I wont go back.

Thought I needed new brakes, they checked them said they were still in good shape. Knew I needed two new tires on the front . Had a good idea going in what I wanted. A couple other time Ive gone in thinking I might need a new tire or certain work done, only to be told that the work I expected wasnt necessary at all.There may have been times when I could have had work done a bit cheaper elsewhere, but never with the level of confidence that the work would be done right, and that I wouldnt be back. Saving a bit on the front, only to have pay more later isnt a savings.I dont think there is another business in St. Louis that Ive recommended to more friends than Combs.

This is the best place to have auto repair done. I have found them to be honest about my service needs and the quality of work is excellent. The shop is clean and so is the waiting area(sometimes they have cookies 🤗) John,Chris and everyone are warm and friendly 😎
