General Manager was so kind and helpful when I inquired about purchasing a shipping box to help ship my TV. She showed me all the sizes and found the best option for me! Thank you for the great service!

Overall nice employees and reliable service. However, they are very disorganized and you need to double check EVERYTHING. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time since service moves at a snails pace. The quality of work on installing my hitch was top notch and they had my trailer ready to go when I arrived.If you are immunocompromised I would avoid this place. The employees were not wearing masks or adhering to social distancing. I was okay with it but be warned.

Trucks are easy to rent. Didnt have many issues. But the customer service leaves something to be desired. I expected to be there for 30-45 minutes even if I just need propane. If you need propane show up at least an hour before they close. They always shut it down early

Had a reservation for two weeks…when I showed up for pickup they told me they could not fulfill the request for equipment. They had the trailer I needed, I pointed to it, but they told me that was being held for someone else…Makes no sense.IMO staff was holding equipment for a friend, otherwise: explain.

The two women who helped me out today were amazing! They were so helpful, even while being extremely busy. They made sure that all of my needs were met, and even gave us a couple of extra hours to return the truck back at no additional cost due to the amount of time I waited. Customer service was ideal and they were so kind. Thank you both so much for getting me out of the building in time to meet my movers today.

The associate that helped us was VERY genuine. His name is Ryan. He was extremely helpful, and after we were done I overheard him helping another customer. He was very sincere in understanding how stressful moving is already, and he really just wanted the U-Haul process to be as smooth as possible to not add more stress. It is not very often that I write a review about a place, but Ryans excellent service is worth noting. It is employees like him that U-Haul should consider promoting.

Terrible customer service, Left my car here at 7 am for a hitch install and came to pick up at 4pm, guy at the front desk was ready to charge my card when I asked if I could check out the hitch only to find out that it wasn’t installed because the couldn’t find the tool to open my bumper. Ended up canceling my long weekend plans because of these unprofessional guys. Called customer care to get a refund and I was told I need to go to their Flint MI location for the hitch install and wasn’t offered a refund for the deposit I paid.

We came Wednesday morning to rent a big truck. The people were nice, took time to explain everything. We came later and bought boxes then I returned the extra Friday morning for a refund and still exceptional service and nice people. Smiles in the morning r a great start to the day! This is where I will go for any rental needs!

Terrible. We got up charged almost two hundred extra dollars for a bunch of random fees. Between a cleaning fee and being charged for a dolly we never even touched, “environmental fee” whatever that is and the list goes on I’d find someone with a truck or a trailer next time.

By far the worst experience I have ever had with anything.I never leave reviews, but this is needed. Scheduled an appointment to have a hitch installed at 9 AM. Got there at 8:45 and they were confused and said they hitch installer isn’t in until noon. They said I could wait if I wanted, but I love a half an hour away so I just had to drive home and come back (Don’t forget it already cost me an hour of driving today).Also, they said there was someone scheduled at 11:30 and said I could be first if I waited? Makes no sense to me as my appointment was set for 9:00 and I even showed them the confirmation of that. The lady didn’t even apologize.I come back at 11, and they finally get me in. The guy there BARELY apologizes.I walk downtown, which is about two miles away, and shop for a couple hours because there’s nothing else I can do. They told me to allow three hours. They said they would call wen finished.I come back after about two hours, see my car sitting out there, AND THEN THEY TELL ME THEY COULDN’T put the hitch on because frame was messed up!!!!I am just irate. This new lady I am dealing with barely apologizes, says she thought he called me, but he NEVER did. I asked for my key and left.I will never be back. I had to take a whole day off from my work, which is very difficult for me, and they ruined it. I had so much planned, and got to do none of it because they wasted over 6 hours of my day. I am CRUSHED, and I really needed this hitch today.This review would be zero stars if it could.

I have always been a loyal U Haul customer in the past. This stayed true with my most recent move. I rented a 17 footer on line 4/27/19 for 24hrs in town. Went to pick it up and the kid working the counter said the only 17 they had just came back, had not been inspected and needed an oil change. He told be that because I was going to be in town he would just let me take it. Well, here in Michigan it decided to snow overnight. Wake up to 2 inches of snow and the sun shinning bright! Water is dripping EVERYWHERE!! Get loaded, drive 6 miles unload everything. It’s all wet.... Return the truck, no problems. Charges clear my account all is good!! 30 days later on 5/30/19 they try to withdraw money from my account but I had insufficient funds so I get an email that I owe $124. I call the customer service, no one can understand it. Finally get a manager that says I owe $513 for damages, specifically a 6ft gouge and hole in the cab of the truck. Absolutely not possible that I caused any damage. I disputed the charges, case is unresolved. Today, they emptied my account.😡 This matter is not resolved by any means!!! I will NEVER use U Haul again.

Was able to reserve a van online the night before i needed it. They have alot of sizes of vans, trucks and trailers available. Staff was friendly and helpful and they let me park my car there all day until i returned the van. Van held all my belongings, was clean inside and out and drove like a dream.

Please! If you need a hitch and wiring installed on your vehicle or anything regarding moving go somewhere else. Save yourself the headache. The people that work their tails off at the store are getting the short end of the stick from Cooperate! The scheduling system they have in place makes for a domino effect at the store level. A 45 min -1hr hitch and wiring install on 2013 mini van took 7hrs to complete. Not to mention they broke 2 bolts out of 4 and they had to leave to pick up more. (Maybe have some extra bolts laying around for situations such as this 🤷‍♀️) When I called they scheduled for Friday, I came in waiting an hour to drop it off on Thursday, came back Friday waited in line again for another 1 hr and it was still in the parking lot with no hitch. I was then told I was scheduled for Saturday. Saturday I came in on the dot 7 am. While I waited at the store, customers were getting frustrated for standing in line forever to only find out all the trucks were scheduled for the day. I should of read the reviews before I even called. What was i thinking!

Juanita was very helpful. Even though my reservation ran over and was completed after closing time, Juanita made sure it was done right. She happily showed me how to log in and how to access our storage area after hours.The truck we rented was clean and easy to maneuver. The place isnt in the best part of town, so we were a little concerned, but they take pride in their work and their facility.

Very welcoming to everyone that calls or comes in, quick to help you with everything you need, always make sure you have everything before you walk out the door. Amazing people all the way around I would without a dough use U Haul again. They said we had a full tank of gas when we picked it up. It had 3/4 of a tank so we filled it back to that point. Got charged an extra $20 for fuel. My girlfriend called and they gave her the runaround and told her to call the 800 number. We have before and after pictures showing fuel and mileage from pickup to drop off. Its simply not worth the hassle for reimbursement. Avoid this location if possible. If you must rent from here then make sure you check the fuel before you sign. The rep also met us with the truck so he had an opportunity to observe the fuel before handing us the keys.

We rented a 15 ft box truck and a car hauler to transport a vehicle from Kalamazoo to Flint...very pleasant experience on both the Kalamazoo and Flint end. Nice clean truck, very pleasant to drive. Many thanks to your staff. very courteous and professional

This is close to the absolute worst business! Dont come here if you want them to do anything to your vehicle! We wanted a hitch installed. 4 or 5 trips later along with a $300 auto body repair because their guys started something they couldnt finish. Then after they finally put the hitch on, they installed the wrong one and now they claim they cant take out the bolts they installed. Ill turn everyone i can from this place.

More than your standard uhaul joint. Since its an official store, essentially anything and everything youll need for a move of any size can be purchased here. From small boxes, to full size closet boxes and trailer hitches, theres something for everyone.

I have always had good experiences here. U-Haul is full of customers desperate to move, tired, grumpy and unprepared. You have to expect some drama. The staff here is very patient and capable, and my wait times in their store have been less than at any of the other U-Hauls I have used over the years.

If you actually WANT your hitch put on, dont come here.I scheduled online to have a hitch installed on May 31 at 1pm (which you have to pay for when you schedule, if you didnt know). I drive over there from Battle Creek, show up a few minute early, and wait at least 10 minutes to be waited on (which I understand, its a Friday afternoon so of course its going to be busy).When Im finally waited on, by the general manager, he said that the normal hitch installation guy wasnt there that day, and that he could do it, but it would take about 2.5 hours to do. He said he doesnt do them as often as the regular guy, so it would take him an hour longer, 2.5 hours instead of the normal 1.5. I said I was ok with that, at it would still leave me time to drive home to pick up my sons at 5.So I sit down in their small waiting area, and a few minutes later, he comes in to tell me hes not sure if they have the wiring in stock. After a few minutes of looking it up on the computer and looking through their stock (on the wall next to the waiting area), he tells me they have it and hes going to work on it. A few minutes later, he comes out to tell me that although they have 2 of the hitches in stock, they only have 1 bolt to attach it, and they needed a total of 4.This general manager was apologetic, and told me he would call grand Rapids to see if they had any, and would drive up Saturday to getthem, but if they didnt, he would have to order them overnight and they would be here by Wednesday (Im not sure how friday-wednesday is overnight). He also told me the store in Battle Creek could be open to install hitches as soon as Monday, so there was a possibility I could get it done there. He told me he would look at all theseoptions, and we worked out that he would reschedule me for 5pm the following Thursday to get it on. So that was pretty much a 1.5 hour waste of my day, not to mention the gas going there.So the following Wednesday, the day before my appointment, I call back to see Id I can reschedule for Friday, as I was already going to be in Kalamazoo then. When they looked up in the computer, they never had me down for the appointment! Im so glad I called and didnt waste my gas again! The man on the phone said he was unable to reschedule me for an appointment, and that I would have to call back in the morning to speak with the general manager to schedule the appointment.So I called back the following morning, but only to get a refund. My initial call went to the main company, which said the refund could only be handled through the Kalamazoo store, so he would send the information to them for them to call me back.When they called back, he said they would issue a refund but it could take 3-5 business days, but if it doesnt go through then, then it could take 5-7 business days. What does that even mean?!?!A full refund was issued to my account within a couple days, and that was the most positive part about my experience.Once that was done, I called Line-X in Battle Creek, they got me scheduled right away, and told me I was probably the 7th person thats called them recently after having problems getting a hitch installed at the Kalamazoo Uhaul - he even told me there was a lady that went there and had holes cut in the frame of her car! I paid about $60 more to go there, but they were professional when I walked in, and I was in and out and done within 40 minutes (hitch and electrical).

I came in on Sat to rent a trailer. The call center messed up my online order but once I got into the store they fixed it all. The place was crazy busy, but not one employee allowed that to change the way they handled each customer! The manager Stacey went way above and beyond to help fix the wiring on my truck when they werent working. I believe she has instilled amazing customer service skills into other employees by leading by example. We even had a few laughs while all of it was going on. True example of a wonderful person. Thank you Stacey and the rest of the employees there!

Terrible experience. I rented a truck to move apartments within Kalamazoo and was charged $120 over what I expected to pay because the milage and gas was not the same as what was written on the contract, although I informed them within minutes of the mistake and was made clear that they put it in the file I was still overcharged. Since then Ive tried to reach them again and again, spoke to 5 costumer representatives who assured me that they understand where the problem lay and still have not received my money back. Dealing with them has been an awful experience and I highly suggest to not use this branch.

Place is always busy but attentive to customers. They seem to always be able to find a solution for your rental needs.

The new manager, in Kalamazoo, MI., went above and beyond to help us. The owner of the independent location in Portage, MI. Also was top notch! We had a long move, that took two separate trips, and the Findlay OH, tiffin ave, return was great too.The Uhaul website needs work.

DON’T GO HERE. They are clueless and Kevin is the worst manager that ever managed anything. My husband took a day off and drove 30 minutes here to get a hitch installed. They didn’t record his appointment set weeks ago, and made him come back 2 hours later. Then while it was supposedly being installed for several hours, they forgot to call him to let him know that they couldn’t install it for some mechanical reason. So he wasted many hours for literally no reason! Piss poor company.

We moved across country and decided to go with Uhaul because we thought we could trust the company. Because we were moving up to the mountains we made the heartbreaking decision to sell some of our possessions so that we could get a smaller truck to maneuver the switchbacks and inclines to our new house. We ordered a 15 foot truck and were assured there would be no problems. The very morning of the move we went to get the truck and were told we were being “upgraded” to a twenty foot truck. We explained that we could not do a truck that size and were basically told nothing could be done. Due to our timeline we had no choice but to take the bigger truck and try to make the move safely. The bigger truck blew our gas budget but the worst part was that Uhaul totally and completely disregarded our safety and made what was already a stressful time even worse. And we had the room for all of our belongings we sold! I feel that a phone call to us prior to moving day to ask us if this was ok should have been made. Especially when we saw numerous fifteen foot trucks at several Kalamazoo locations that day, including the one we were at. I will continue to share our experience anytime the situation arises.

Got here at 7am and the general manager didnt open the door til 7:06 am. I was the first customer for propane in my rv . He told me to wait and he processed the customer behind me. Then told me to wait 20 minutes while he does a lot inspection. It has now 7:55 am and he has processed 2 other customer. This now seems like a racial issue more than terrible service. I am the on Afo- American customer in here and I have gotten propane twice before. I am no video documenting as informed to by my attorney. It is now 830 I leaving

Staff was really nice and willing to help us. We had a storage unit with them for 3 months and rented a truck for the day. There is a major lack of parking at this location. This makes it very difficult loading/unloading your things in your storage unit. You better hope and pray no one else is moving in/out at the same time. When we came to pick up our stuff from the unit to move into our new apartment we discovered mouse feces on EVERYTHING. We had the SafeStor insurance, hopefully they cover some sort of cost from the inconvenience of having to wash most everything we own. When I informed them of the problem they told me they had to kick someone out recently because they were storing food in their unit...staff is great but location could be better.
