This process was by far the most simple one for me as a first time buyer! The salesman Mark assured me that he loved his job and his main goal is to help customers get into a vehicle. He mad my first experience a very pleasant one after a few hours of waiting. All of my documents were approved, so I signed and drove away elated. I love CarMax. Every transaction I have made with them left me feeling fairly treated. They most likely will not have the lowest prices, but they offer warranty and other due diligence that many other car sellers do not. I feel confident buying a car there.Their financing is excellent, and I found it was on-par with the rates given to me by my own bank (quite low).

The easy deal I have ever done they stand behind there cars 🚘 they replace my car on the spot when we found the another one they had a year newer 5k miles no ? The sales crew was a little over board. On COVID with the mask and just look like they were hired from homeless shelter just need to clean 🧼 up the way they dress sloppy uneducated. Overall, my experience was pleasant. Ive purchased from CarMax before and I like their process. I didnt get a new floor mat for the drivers side which was a little disappointing for 70K car. It was late so they didnt get to do a detailed cleaning and car wash. There was a scratch in the leather but they will be addressing it through a work order so that is good. The financing process took longer than I expected but I did like the rate and terms provided. The car appraisal for my previous vehicle went well but also took a while. Total time I believe was about 4.5 hours. The person who started the process had to leave so I completed the process with someone else.
Thanks to Ali and Scott I had a pleasant experience buying my new BMW. In my opinion they are awesome salesman. I had a horrible experience with David Taylor Cadillac. They promiseing me a good deal and when it came to the finance department, everything changed to the point I left and went to Carmax. Ali really made me feel welcomed and explain the process perfectly to me. They didnt use any of the pressure tactics or lies, like I previously experienced. I also like the fact Carmax hold the vehicle you are interested for a few days. Unlike David Taylor, that sold the vehicle I asked them to hold while I made it to the dealership with my down-payment. The finance procedure at Carmax went very smoothly.I recommend Carmax to anybody thats looking to purchase a new vehicle for a fair price. Not to mention driving away with the new car feeling.

Joseph and the manger here set me up for a complete manipulation and continuously lied about the status of title for vehicle I paid to have shipped to Houston. I was told completely conflicting information and stressed to the point of anger and NO ONE WITHIN THIS COMPANY seems to care at all what was done to me. I had a deal set financed and was only going in to sign paperwork but the paperwork for my car magically was lost in transport. Then told my deal was only good for 7 days. I was in this place for hours while they pretended to reach out to dealership car was shipped from I waited patiently only to have these people not even attempt to try and get duplicate title but LIE to my face about what they couldn’t don so they could try to get more money out of me. So disgusted with these people.! I pray to God someone does something about this!!!
My credit application was deleted per the representative on the phone only after 6 days of getting the official approval and they wanted to run my credit again. although I have which banks approved me and amount finance etc that they sent me just days prior. what finance manager in their right mind deletes credit applications with an approval? The reason I followed up with them is the car I selected sold the moment they ran my credit and they finally had similar unit newly advertised. Poorly managed.
I had purchased a vehicle at this CarMax location in the past and had a 5 star experience. This time it didnt meet those same expectations. I had a truck shipped to this location from another and was told to allow 48 hours for them to inspect and clean the truck before I went to test drive and purchase. After the purchase, not only was the truck not cleaned (straw wrappers and garbage underneath seats and in compartments) but when I went to drive off the lot (once the sun at set), a headlight was out and the truck was taken back to maintenance to be fixed. It clearly didnt go through a check like promised. Then 6 days I had to return the truck to maintenance for engine problems where several parts had to be replaced. Got the truck back and within 24hrs it had to go back again for a belt replacement (which the tech originally said was just engine noise). During the repair process (both times) I never received a call when the truck was ready and tried to call multiple times and was sent to voicemail. *It is important to note that they have also been extremely tight scheduled on the repair/maintenance side, so slower responses was expected* After a certain point, you start to feel like you bought a lemon and youre getting ripped off, which is a strange feeling for a well known dealership.The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of less is because the staff was extremely polite and willing to work with me and my schedule. They truly do have really great customer service. Just writing a review for everyone who is purchasing to take into consideration!
Took 3 hrs, process of selling was incredibly slow. Good news is that they matched the offer I received online, so no issues there- but I felt my time was wasted and it could have been much more efficient.

5 stars to the service department. Got a Toyota Highlander with a fair price. Noticed that the rear AC had some issues and my front windshield had small cracks.Service department took care of it and was very attentive and very communicative as well.

Everything went fine with the purchase of my car.Since I have chosen the car that I like before going to carmax store the whole transaction was seamless, My only complain was, after the sales was completed, I realized that I left a couple of thing in the trunk of my former car which is a jumper cable and tire compressor. The car I traded with Lexus RX 350 ( Subaru legacy ) .So I called a spoke to the sales guy Mr Peter Ogiamien, I informed him about the situation and he replied, best I can remember, “ he don’t know where my car is located and will give me a call once he knew something. Until today, that call never happened. So my conclusion, After the sales, there is no more customer service . Or if there is one, its something that needs to improve. Reason why I gave 1 star .
Never had been to purchase from this company before. The process to search for and test drive a car is very efficient. They close late at night so you get follow up pretty swiftly. Everyone is very cordial. I want to highlight a Mr. Ali Rasheed who is VERYcordial, patient, considerate of your needs, transparent, honest and helpful. He gave us the information that gave us the confidence we needed to make our purchase.
I love what yall have done to the place. So clean and new, quick and efficient. Modern even. However that doesnt change CarMaxs absurd, insulting, no haggle pricing that will be 1/3rd what theyre reselling it for. Great experience here at Carmax Southwest location. The salesman Theo was informative and any questions I had in regards to the vehicle I purchased (2019 Honda Civic Sport) were answered almost immediately. He was very transparent. The only thing I would have to say is that when one tire was flat, they filled up that tire, but did not fill up the other tires, so my car read tire pressure low about 10 minutes after I left. I was there during the end of the day, so they had closed. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend asking for Theo when purchasing your next vehicle!
It is a good place to shop for a car. My son and I got cars there. I will say the prices are fair. I bought my car less than a month ago and the window was making a noise. I took back. They gave me a loan car while they fixed it. No questions asked.

Id have given them a five overall but the fact that I couldnt get them to clean the windows better than what they were, (streaks, glue from stickers), was a let down.The dales person and everyone one else I spoke with were nice, except one of the managers.All said, the car I bought is nice. I just need to see if I can get a fuel gauge issue resolved.

I went in to get a quote for my car and Dave, the sales person that spoke with me was very rude and unprofessional. I was asking him a general question regarding selling or trading in my car and the overall car market as I assume he would know more than me. He responds by telling me he’s not here to talk about that and that I need to go elsewhere, so he passes me over to someone else. It wasn’t entirely about things he said, more so how he said it. His body language also made me feel I was wasting his time with any question I would ask. The others I spoke with were kind, but an awful experience with Dave.

For me to use the adjective enjoyable when referring to car dealership experiences is non-existent. I wasnt hounded everyday with telephone calls by car sales associates. I viewed my options, financed and picked up my car with ease. Kudos to your staff at CarMax Southwest for a great job done.

Joseph(sales) and Brian(finance manager) were great. Joseph was not pushy with the extra coverage and insurances, he did explain everything. Brian went out of his way for us to make the bank transfer since I lost my debit card and it was too late to go to the bank to take out cash, he could of just told me come back tomorrow, but he got it done the same day. Then the finance girls went over each paper I signed, they include a 30 day money back guarantee which I think is insane, bring it back for whatever reason and get 100% money back, what dealer does that? My only complaint was the color of the bow, I was a little upset they didnt have a red bow lol (wife wanted for a picture, they got her a bow). As far as the service, they did take a while to prep the car but they cleaned it, added full tank of gas, not sure what else they did, but they like to prep the car for you which was nice... Overall great experience, very easy, pick car, apply, get approval, submit 2nd vehicle specific application for final approval, upload ID and insurance, come in and pick it up.... Simple as that.

Came in to test drive a 2017 Corvette. If the test drive went well I would have purchased and had shipped a 2019 to the store. Isaac, sales consultant, told me they do not let customers drive cars they are not going to purchase. First time I ever heard that after purchasing ≈15 cars. After querying the car in their system, it disappeared and was no longer available, but it was live on the website the day after. Staff clearly didnt want to sell me a car..

Not the quickest service, but it was very easy! Drove up and got my car appraised about half an hour after checking in (I was admittedly a bit late for my scheduled appointment). Came back later that same day with my keys and title, drove up to the service area and gave my title and quote to the front desk. About an hour later I was signing paperwork and the car was sold!
Everyone at the Car Max Southwest Houston location was absolutely amazing. I am horrible with names, but the initial gentleman I dealt with (I believe his name was Ralph or Randy) greeted me shortly after check-in, thoroughly explained all of the steps to have my car appraised, and had the offer in my hands within about 30 minutes. The next morning after Id made the decision to complete the transaction, he went out of his way to greet me again and thank me for coming back. The young lady who processed the final sale, same thing. Full explanations of what to expect, set realistic time frames, and had me out the door within 45 minutes. Overall this was and absolute easy experience and exceeded every expectation I had.

I came here to sell my vehicle, then I waited about 1 to 1.5 hours to get my vehicle appraised (understandable since it happened on a Saturday). I had to do was some paperwork and pay my portion of the balance. I waited about 3 hours before I was finally called to business office, way too long. Once I got to the window they told me they do not take personal checks, after I asked earlier twice and was told that they do take personal checks, but I was then told they only take cashier checks. I then had to leave and get cash, since my debit card has a daily limit. When I came back to Car Max, I again waited another hour, by far the worse customer service I have ever experienced. The service crew was courteous and nice, I wish the business office cared about their client’s time.
Our salesman was good and we were pleased with vehicle. Not totally cleaned . Salesman promised to have detailed when we come back. The purchasing process was a disaster. It took us over an hour to get service, Manager was involved and promised we would be next but 2 people went in front of us. We did not need financing. Manager promised to come back and check on us and never did. We literally closed down the dealership after arriving for a test drive at 5:30pm. The salesman was frustrated and we were very disappointed at the entire experience. They need to fix the purchasing finance process. Rest of experience good other than vehicle cleanliness. Might have been a bad day but no one seemed to care other than our sales person. Very troubling experience,. Even more disappointed no one called to follow up about our experience as promised. Be careful when you go and make sure you have a lot of time!!

We have purchased three cars from Carmax over the past 20 years (and we are still driving all three of them!) Everything is always trouble-free with them, from start to finish.
Car was almost out of fuel when I picked it up for curbside appointment. Low tire light on. Then 5 minutes after driving a bunch of lights on dash came on. Car now has to go back to dealer a second time to try and figure out what’s wrong. Also the autocheck showed no accidents. RUN A CARFAX, it showed a “moderate accident”. Even weeks after buying the car no one has even bothered to call and see how my transaction went. If I didn’t fly into Houston and drove it home I’d be returning the car for sure (then I’d be over the 1500 miles). So now I’m stuck with a broken car with previous accident damage.
Well i will take my time and my experience at carmax... i bought a supra 2020 i use it like for 4 timesI dint really use ut alot. So i decide to return the car.. i love carmax i just took the car back they ask me why i was returning the car back and i explain them why.so they took the car

My experience with Carmax went much better than I had anticipated. The customer service was next to none. I found a few vehicles online and dude the pre approval process which seriously shortened my time sitting at the dealership. They even held to car I wanted until I could get there and test it. I highly recommend this company, they have a huge inventory to fit anyones needs.

Honestly, my experience here is so far the worst i’ve ever had. i think i’ve been working on trying to purchase a vehicle with them for about 3 months now and i’ve been placed on hold every single time i try to call for questions. and when they do actually talk to you they’ve told me countless times they’d reach out to me immediately and never did. work etiquette is by far the worst, don’t waste your time here.

I order a different Model of car and a different Color also when I was supposed to test the car it was a different color and different style and ordered a week before, a big disappointment right there, so they bring a Hyundai Model not sunroof but I like the color and the mileage I don’t wanted waist to much time and decide to go with this car but the car I really want was the Nissan.

Lines are long, appointments don’t mean anything, don’t come on the weekends (unless you are planning on staying 4-6 hours), arrive early, and if you see a car and you like it and want to purchase, ask for them to hold the vehicle because cars go by fast. I feel sorry for the employees because when it get busy they are told they can’t talk breaks and have to stay late. Best of luck 🤞.

STAY AWAY. Ordered a car in May. Didnt receive notice to receive the car until June 29th. By that time orginal approval and appraisal had expired. I had to do the entire approval and appraisal process over again. Ended up being completely different than what was originally quoted causing me to not get the car. All because they took a month to reprogram a key. Also sales rep added services I never agreed to. Very shady.
I was told on an initial phone call with a Carmax representative that It was optional to pay my car off before I traded it into carmax because the process was the same and I would be written a check for the trade in amount. Once I paid my car off I went in to pick up the new car I was purchasing and was told that I couldnt trade in my car until I had the title in my hand. Knowing the quote was only good for one week and that my title would not arrive by then. I had to wait for the title to arrive in the mail while paying additional money to keep that car insured on top of insuring my new car. Once i got the title i took it in to get a new appraisal and it went down by $1500! When I asked why, (since it was not being driven) I was told that it was just a market change. They said the condition was exactly the same. Since I was mislead my the Carmax rep from the start, I lost $1500 from the trade in and several hundred more dollars i paid for additional insurance. This is completely unacceptable and Carmax employees should be better educated on policies and procedures so customers like me dont lose thousands of dollars.
SJ was a phenomenal help!! I was soo worried that I was not going to get a decent car, reasonably priced, within a reasonable time. No fear! SJ was there! :) I went in on a Friday evening and met with him and drove the car off the lot Saturday morning! I love my car! Had it for three weeks now with absolutely no issues! If your looking for a car, go in to the carmax located on southwest frwy and ask for SJ specifically. He will not disappoint!
