Update: I talked to upper management, Steve. I felt like he heard me. When I went back, the sign was completely gone. Revising to three stars for excellent customer service by upper management.I’ve been here a few times. It hasn’t been consistent. I ordered a specialty coffee drink twice. The first time was good and the second time I felt like I wasted my money as I had to throw it away.My first visit I saw people eating a hearty meal and made a mental note to try the food next time. Apparently there was no food the day I came back, which today I was told that they get their food from the restaurant upstairs.Today I tried to order the Grab and Go picnic special as displayed on the wall for $28. Apparently they don’t do that anymore, but picnic bags were still hanging on the wall. I was given the suggestion to go to The Deck on the third floor as the food was the same. So why can’t they do an in house thing and offer the service? Update: I came back the next day and they have the picnic bags up. I asked the manager about it and her tone said it all. She spoke to me like I was an idiot. I will not be spending my dollars here again. I feel discriminated against.Service has been hit or miss, which is no surprise given the other inconsistencies. The pluses:Plenty of seating options.Plenty of outlets.
Great atmosphere and seating area. The coffee -- their cold brew and their iced latte -- was good but has a strange taste to it, hard to describe. Like a funky aroma.
The coffee does not taste good. We ordered two different cold drinks and they have a wierd sour taste in both. Would not recommend wasting your money.
I was excited to try this place but it quickly turned into the worst service I have ever experienced. The food is awesome but Alice who took our order was extremely rude when taking our order. She ended up getting our order wrong when the food came out which wasn’t a big deal but when we let her know she said “I didn’t know you wanted etc etc” so I asked her if she could put in the order for what I did order and she said that was fine so while I was reaching for my card she pointed over at the register to me and said “I’m not putting the order in until you come pay”.....I told her I was about to come up there and pay. Then when the food came she slammed the plate on the table and got the order wrong again so when I told her I didn’t order extra rice she said “that’s ok.” And walked away. When I went to talk to the manager about what happened nothing was done, I talked to her twice because Alice continued to be outwardly disrespectful. She and the manager came to our table and she told my boyfriend and I “if you have a problem you can talk to me about it” with an attitude of course, but with that comment let alone why would I confide to her about this service issue when we are literally being yelled at by her at our table in front of everyone there? Then she proceeds to tell us “well you didn’t tip” and you’re absolutely correct, I do not tip RUDE servers, that is my one exception. If you are disrespectful I will NOT TIP. Customers tip based on your service and the bare minimum is to be treated with RESPECT from both parties- I have been a waitress for 4 years before so I understand the service industry. What happened here was horrible, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Of course I did not tip a single dime because why would I pay $60 + to get disrespected?? She ended up promising to give us a full refund and tried to only refund us $18. Alice if you are promising someone to give them a full refund in the first place then you should do that. We got the refund only because we mentioned it. I would never return or recommend it because of this experience.
$10 Kona Pour Over! It’s coffee!! It definitely does have a unique flavor and pleasant almost fruity aftertaste. Never had it, had to try being it is where it is 🏝
I keep seeing bad reviews for this place, because people waited a long time for the food?Yeah well no duh youre at a COFFEE SHOP.God hotel guests are so entitled.Coffee was great and the employees were very polite. Maybe order food at a place that specializes in food before giving such a low rating to a hotel coffee shop.
The best thing here is the coffee. They have a wide variety of coffee options which was pretty good but do not order food here. My husband and I were so excited to try the food here but once we got the food, after waiting almost 40 minutes when the lady said max 20 minutes, the food was so cold. Like someone forgot about it then realized we were still siting there and brought it out. Soooo disappointed because not only was it cold but it was expensive too!
Great open-air cafe on ground floor of Queen Kapiolani hotel. Chunky comfortable mugs for eat-in hot drinks, wooden plates, wooden disposable cutlery better look & less wasteful than plastic. Bagels & light snacks, fridge filled with Kombucha & healthy cold drinks. Comfortable seating without freeze of A/C, ceiling fans enough to keep comfortable temperature. Relaxing atmosphere & Hawaiian bgm with view across to zoo area trees.
Super amazing staff, very helpful and friendly. On top of that the french toast was really great. However, it was a bit pricey for cafe food.
Good coffee4.95 plus a cup
Service great, coffee great. However, for a simple 16 Oz of hot white mocha was a little pricey compared to other cafes.
Friendly staff, great coffee, and a fun atmosphere; what more could you ask for
Customer service was good drinks didnt take long. The process didnt seem outrageous even for Waikiki.
Good coffee! We tried the ice latte w/ coconut milk & coconut flavor syrup which turned out delicious! Would go again! Mahalo! 💕👍🏼😎
Fantastic eggs Benny and coffee

Matcha wasn’t good, didn’t taste like matcha just milk. Coffee was good I guess and the wait wasn’t that long.
Perfect spot to get your coffee right before you hit the beach always support local
The Queens Cappuccino was pretty solid. Highly recommend it and this quaint shop near the beach! Also half indoors half outdoors if you wanna sit in the sun.
Disappointing service. I really wanted to like this place.
They are always mis priced items. We think more lower price but they charges much higher price. It feels like dishonest.
Coffee is good. People seem decent. And as always, I give a good tip because covid time is hard. BUT, if you order food, especially to go, make sure you have time to wait.I wasn’t informed that I had to wait for more than 30 minutes for the Kona Hotdog and I would not have ordered if I was told. I shared my frustration and hope the staff there will make a point to let their future customers know.
Definitely a must for you to experience great coffee, food, and customer experience. The space is clean, spacious, and one of the few areas that offer an open-air place on Kapahulu to meet your clients. A great place to experience the friendly service and tasty offerings!
If your in the area and staying longer then a month. Try the coffee membership thats worth its weight in beans! Wonderful friendly staff that take covid-19 seriously, to ensure everyone well being. Each table is marked clearly with a safe from covid-19 card! Delicious and a lovely open air dinning you can gaze to see the ocean while you drink your beverage of choice!
I travel to Hawaii all the time, and while in Waikiki I always stop at Knots Coffee Roasters. I know the manager he’s a good personal friend of mine, and his expertise is unparalleled. If you like a fresh cup of coffee that doesn’t taste like hotel burnt cardboard and plastic cup of coffee, this is the coffee shop for you. The machine is cleaned between shots so you don’t get old burnt taste, the coffee is made fresh with each cup of coffee so the flavor of beans are rich and evident. The shop is clean and it’s a comfortable quaint atmosphere that’s extremely inviting! I hope others enjoy it as much as me, I just like a fresh cup of coffee that’s rich in flavor above all else.
Knots Coffee! What can I say? It’s a place coffee lovers from the mainland dream about! As for the service, I absolutely love the manager, Sam. He’s so kind and puts a smile on my face whenever I see him. I can only imagine the rest of the staff would be the same. I insist you try this place! My experience there can’t even be put into words. 😁
I was unable to get the server Isaiah or John the dishwasher to do a table dance but maybe next time So amazed by the service grateful grateful there was more bacon that I could possibly eat I have biscuits and gravy scrambled eggs and hash browns with a side order of bacon with strawberry preserves everybody Raves about the coffee Im trying to hold off on coffee for a few days but it smelled really good I will be back time and time again the atmosphere the food customer service a plus grateful
Knots Coffee is one of the best maintained and operated coffee shops on the island! The staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant. The coffee is top notch. And the space is all around charming. I would highly recommend you check out Knots and make it your new local morning stop!
Excellent coffee but over-priced.
HAVE YOU MET SAM? Sam worked at a coffee shop back in PA and I loved him and his passion for people and coffee! He will always give you a great recommendation for a drink and good conversation! KEEP IT UP BUDDY! Cant wait to visit again!
Knots coffee is the cutest spot with best cold brew on Oahu! I can’t wait to go back when dine in is open. Sipping on a latte with the beautiful ambiance seems like the perfect spot to chill, get some work done, or catch up with friends. The staff are also so friendly and will make you feel right at home.
A trip to this spot instantly brightens my day. The staff is friendly, hospitable, and always serves delicious cold brew coffee with a smile. The connected patio is breezy and beautiful—complete with an ocean view. The perfect place to catch up with a friend, read a book, or speed out and sit at the beach, which is just a block away!
Small latte order took 10 mins to make with a dedicated Barista and 2 coffee orders ahead of me. Finally received it and nearly scalded my hand...coffee should be hot enough that you can drink it straight away. Wait 15 minutes for it to cool down only to find out it is the weakest coffee I have ever had in my life. All I could taste was milk, could have been nescafe in there for all I could tell. I tossed the coffee after finishing half of it..Ive never done that before in my life. Starbucks is 100 metre walk from here...do yourself a favour.
We are visiting Knots a few times during our stay and it was great until... this last visit. It was not ideal. The barista took an iced americano wrongly and made a hot one. That’s okay... the barista just poured the hot drink into a cup of ice... it’s a totally different drink now from what I ordered because of the wrong ratio. Maybe I am having a bad day and just complaining nonsense here... but how hard it is to remake an iced americano in a minute to make a customer leave with happiness?
Visited Knots multiple times on a recent trip to Waikiki and I highly recommend! Best coffee on the island by far! The service was outstanding, pleasant atmosphere, and everything is very clean and organized. Overall, it seems like a very well managed establishment and I will definitely be back next time I’m in Waikiki!
I had THE BEST coffee ever at this spot, such a dope little spot, made me wish I could move to the Island and spend my days sipping cold brew and enjoying the island life. I have to admit I knew nothing about cold brew but Sam, recommended it and I was so glad i stepped out of my comfort zone and try it! Give it a try!
Best coffee place I’ve found! The vibe is welcoming, calming, and somewhere I’m always trying to be! The staff is wonderful and Sam (the manager) definitely went out of his way to accommodate me. Very pleased with this place and it’s staff, I highly recommend this place. 👍🏽
This coffee shop is the best in the area. Its always very clean, the staff is kind and the service is great! Get their oat milk cappuccino, its AMAZING! Keep up the good work!
Basque Cheese Cake here is good! Must try.
YO my vanilla latte was incredible. Also, the staff were very attentive which is always nice because I never know what I want to get. Love this place! Must try!
Knots coffee is delicious and the service was great! This little shop is in a gorgeous location and everything looked clean and the staff was friendly. Cant wait to go back!
I just recently visited Hawaii and stopped at Knots Coffee before I started my adventures. This was my first time on the island and my first time at Knots. The staff was so welcoming, the coffee was delicious, and the atmosphere was very inviting. Needless to say, I can’t wait to go back to Hawaii and visit Knots Coffee again.
Good coffee but expensive
Great capacino
This place is revolutionary - they actually put outlets WITH USB PORTS everywhere because spoiler alert, people like to work on their laptops while drinking coffee - are you listening Starbucks? However, be warned, there is no AC as its a giant open air environment. But if the heat is getting to you, just order a cocktail. It wont help with the temperature but youll at least be drunk.
Super friendly staff, especially Leanne. We had the pleasure of having our lattes made by some of the happiest folks weve met in Hawaii. The espresso was fantastic, and they offered a good selection of alternative milks, along with great food choices. They also have a great restaurant upstairs in the QK Hotel where some of the dishes are made that are on the coffee shops menu. The decor is modern Hawaiian style, and maintained well, which we really appreciate. They clearly spend a lot of time and attention to the small details, and hire great staff. We will be back the next time were in Oahu!
During an earlier trip I was able to stop in for a visit. The staff was friendly, and helped me decide between the coffee jelly latte, and the queen cappuccino! I choose the queen cappuccino which was delicious!!
The food was good, but the coffee was weak compared to other restaurants and coffee shops we visited.
Awesome little coffee shop. Great customer service and the fresh pastries are on point!!!! I make it a point to go in every time I go into town.
Just to walked the dogs by P. K. Hotel. Coffee shop is insideWent there to get coffee and Danish. Everythings was good. Services was fast and good. Coffee was good. Danish from outside. Was good
Coffe was good and the macadamia nut croissant was fabulous.
Great customer service and love their coffee!! Good location too
Good service
I love this place. The employees are always great and the coffee is delicious.
I loved the latte there when I was on vacation in February, Ive just had a craving for it.
Arrived at 5:45. They do not open til 6 per the patron. At 6 she was not open. At 6:05 she said credit card only. But we need to come to the register as she does not bring or service our seat at their counter. What, what, what. Why have a counter if you dont serve. while we were sitting at the counter the lady walks over and serves the man next to us a local. He was sitting right next to us but yet we could not get service unless we went to the cash register. Also I thought I might add they say you can order online but for some strange reason you cannot order from the counter
A Japanese coffee shop in Queen Kapiolani Hotel. There are many seating facing Honolulu Zoo entrance. You can feel the ocean breeze.
Great cold brew!Definitely check out while in Waikiki!
I think the most modern cafe in Honolulu.Clean and smooth coffee flavor.I was able to spend time comfortably.
I ordered a cup of coffee, just regular drip coffee, today. The coffee was not hot and weak. I dont recommend black coffee here.
Iced mango peach is my fave, the staff is super friendly and it’s a perfect place to sit and journal!! :)
Love the on tap nitro cold brew ice coffee and this cafe is dog friendly and has friendly staff
Very good coffee, they have few varieties of pastries and selection of packaged foods for picnic too.
Airy coffee bar that makes a great iced mocha!
Coffee OK.
Great coffee good staff! I go every day
Very cute place! Loved the decor and their paper straws! Delicious coffee!
Yummy coffee, happy hour specials and generous seating in a beautiful open lobby.
Good coffee shop with interesting coffee ice cream (Tokyo style).
Super nice employees, love supporting small businesses
Just got coffee only, good ambience, friendly staff
Latte was a bit hot, good but not quite excellent coffee.
Sadly saying, I expected far more for USD 10 (single cup of drop speciality coffee and a small cookie).Firstly, it took forewer to get the coffee, despite few guests.Second, it was served in a to go paper mug instead of a jar / mug.Third, coffee was too strong and even sour. The place looks nice though and has potential. It must learn from other speciality coffee places.
I stayed in this hotel and knotts coffee was located at 1st floor. I had iced americano and it was great coffee. Not sure what bean they are using but felt more like kona coffee and I loved it.
You can drink 100% Kona coffee at this cafe!! And also the have good selection of Bar programs.
This spot is a hidden gem! Its becoming my get away! Awesome staff, super friendly, super helpful, AND awesome drinks! Big screen tv, next to the bar, beautiful hotel atmosphere, it was just remodeled, AND you get get beers and cocktails there too! The maitai on draft is strong if youre grtting rrqdy for a night on the town! Great yet small selection of beers, and again..the staff is the best! Right next to all the action of waikiki with out all the noise and ignorant people!!
Paper straws, nice aesthetics, wonderful tasting coffee & tea. Will be back for the Mai Tai ON TAP!
Meh espresso drinks. Bad Bagel. Not a good place to have breakfast, passable for coffee.
Strong coffee nice baristas
Great customer service!
Got my breakfast sandwich toasted, but it was still frozen in the center
Very enjoyable coffee. Friendly staff.
Poor selection of food. I went somewhere else
Good
Everything was great!
They forgot what I ordered.
Good coffee
Took forever
Thank you, Leanne.
Great coffee and amazing staff!!
This is a place I often visit with guests. I think the guests are more comfortable eating than expected.
