This was an as is purchase from Star Auto with the assistance of Jace. He was helpful and not pushy. He prepared the car for me to test drive, showed me the features of the car, and compared it to the same car on the lot 1 yr newer. For the money the 2014 Sienna with 67,000 miles was perfect. I found a car I was serious about through Car Gurus and it was for sale at Star Auto, Beretania location.Long story short, my Salesman was Sam. Sam was quick to greet me, and get me on a test drive. The 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE was clean, and looked like it had been well maintained. It drove well, so I said Ill take it.Sam was friendly and completed the paperwork to go to the Finance Manager, Tia. I know the value of the Extended Service Plan they offered, so I purchased that as well (definitely make sure you at least listen to what it offers!).Star Auto did everything they promised, without delay. Found a vehicle I liked at a fair price per Kelly Blue Book. Started working with Brandon Canon a day or so ahead of my visit to the lot to get financing in order. This was very helpful because it saved me time from sitting in their office waiting (and potential embarrassment if I was denied for some reason). I was able to email all supporting documents ahead of time. So, on the day at the lot, all that was really left to do was test drive the vehicle and sign the paperwork. I was only on the actual lot for about an hour. Staff was super friendly and professional. Both the sales rep, Brandon and financing rep, Tia, answered all my questions before and during my visit. I left feeling great about my selection, the price, and my overall experience!

Dealer took total advantage of a 19 year old Navy Sailor, who just arrived for initial duty and needed transportation. Car didnt make it 3 weeks and broke down. Dealership refused to help out. Total disrespect for the Military. They should be ashamed. Charma will pay them back 10 fold Im certain.

Never again. The majority of their vehicles had issues. We were looking for something cheap so decided to buy a car from them. The car had an issue with the window which took them over a week to repair. To months later, the window doesn’t work. The car leaks oil, power steering fluid, and windshield washer liquid. The starter is failing. I could go on and on. This was a low-mileage car so I didn’t think it would have this many issues, but it does. I can’t believe the car hasn’t lasted two months. TWO MONTHS. We are going to get rid of it and cut our losses. I urge you to go anywhere else. This place is a scam.

Ok let me start by saying if it wasnt for TIA not only would they have lost a customer but they would have gotten a very bad review. They have always had nice cars but they have always fallen way short in the customer service department. But then theres TIA she listened to what we were looking for and she over delivered. I purchased a car here a month ago but held off writing a review because I planned to come back and sell a vehicle to them and wanted to see how both transactions would go before reviewing this business. Today I sold my vehicle to them and I am extremely happy with the service I received both of the times I came here. The first time I came here I purchased a BMW X5 and was helped by a salesman named Chris. Chris was super cool and extremely nice and helpful, not pushy or overbearing like how some car salesman can be. He took the time to speak to us and answered all of our questions. He also had all the necessary information regarding the history of the vehicle a buyer would want to see ready. He really worked with us to try and get the best deal he could offer and saved us money on a great car. I was given an amazing price for a great condition BMW X5, and they also gave me more then what I was expecting for my trade in. Today, I took my Mercedes C300 in to see if they would be interested in purchasing the vehicle since I no longer use it and it was just sitting in my garage. I was helped by Jack and Christy who were really nice and gave me a fair amount for my car. I was paid in cash which was great and walked away happy. My experience when buying and selling vehicles at Star Auto was really good and I would definitely recommend this business!

Star Auto was great. I inquired online and immediately received a response both via phone call (a voicemail was left on my phone) and an email by Ron (Waipahu lot). I have returned Rons phone call; then later that day I was contacted by Chrissy/Kristy (one of those names. Lol) in finance. We have discuss about my credit, down payment and what my monthly would be for everything to work. Mind you, my credit score is shot and everywhere I have inquire all have said the same thing You will need a co-signer. I explained why and wanting to this on my own; and guess What?; I was given the chance to do exactly that. What was even better, she had the vehicle transported to their Honolulu lot so I didnt have to drive all the way out to Waipahu from Kaimuki. The next day I have shown up for my appointment and was greeted by sales rep Brandon. I have told him what I was there for and he immediately knew who I was and took me straight to the vehicle to check out and test drive. I instantly fell in love with the vehicle I have first seen and wanted to check out. Everything from sales rep to finance have fallen into place.Hey! if you have a down payment with no credit/bad credit/some credit and wanting a used vehicle, this is the place to go..Star Auto!!

Would give 1 star based on below statements but I give 2 star because rep was quick to schedule initial visit and Brandon is new rep they threw in to assist and play dodge the buyer. BIG RED FLAGS AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. HERES WHY:The product for sale of my interest (Mini Convertible) had damages that were not reported and not specified in sales advertisement. They did not expect me to check vehicle like any smart person would do to avoid scams -- I asked to speak to the mechanic who worked on it & the service manager told me coincidentally the mechanic left same day I arrive and has to quarantine for 14 days. I offered to pay full cash out the door for the fair market deal based on the damages and driving issue. They decided to delay the sale, tell me its up for paint job when I scheduled 2nd visit to come with cash payment and mechanic, and then not hearing back for 3days after they cancelled my 2nd appt last minute when I said am waiting to write a check for the lowest price theyll offer, having to wait another 3days they tell me its sold. In the end i waste a 3 hour drive, coordinating mechanic and payment, a hard credit inquiry for affording this vehicle, the time to research on this vehicle, and very disappointed by the service. They all knew I am in the Air Force too and mechanic savvy when I showed up. Odd that they avoided me coming back with a mechanic and avoided me buying the car. Very odd. Perhaps they just avoided a lawsuit in exchange to receive this bad review.

Went to price my car with them to see if they wanted to buy for Kelly blue book price like they advertise. Our car is easily worth triple the price that they offered. They said their “mechanic” saw a lot of problems that they needed to fix before selling it. NONE of those problems were real. (Sounded made up) and we had an actual mechanic confirm that they were not real. Just trying to get us to sell for a low cost. Really disappointed with that, left feeling like they just wanted to take advantage of us. Not okay!

If you are looking for a used car at a fair price then this is your place. If you are looking for a used car under a corporation funded warranty (e.g. Ford, BMW, Toyota etc.) then this is not your place. They are a local company and work hard to sell and buy vehicles with you in mind.

Theyre scam artists. The vehicle I bought from them has a million different problems now, the warranty they gave me wont cover any of it, and Im now in debt. Do not buy from Star Auto.

My experience with Star Auto Hawaii is subpar. I purchased a 2009 Nissan Maxima just under $10k. Very low miles at 60k fully loaded, leather and navigation. I went in on Sunday Nov 9, 2019 to look at the Maxima. I officially meet Miguel at this point. There isnt a single honest person at this dealership. He had asked a lot boy to go with me for a test drive. It was a very very short test drive. To test a vehicle you need to open it up on the freeway. Anyway upon my return I decided that the Maxima was a good car. I made arrangements with my Bank to cut a check to Star Auto on monday November 10, 2019. Now here is where my 1 star review comes in. I was contacted by Christie in the morning of November 10th 2019 to come and pick up my vehicle it is ready. Christie stated that she had the car detailed and put gas in the car. None of which was a true statement upon my pick up. The interior of the car still had the same stains on the leather from the pervious day. There was nothing that stating the car was professionally detailed and clean. I then noticed that the drivers chair panel completely fell off. As I was struggling to put it back on the same lot boy that took me on a test drive said that he is going to take the vehicle on the side and service it again. He brought the vehicle back moments later and it appeared to be fixed. I had some errands to run that day and the vehicle worked fine and the driver seat side panel held up. To my surprise the very next day which is Tuesday Nov 12, 2019 the drivers seat side panel fell off once again. I then discovered that the the lot Boy that had fixed the seat panel had fixed it with an old rusty wire hanger. Extremely disappointed with the workmanship and customer service that this car lot had to offer at this point. I am not going to bother calling them for a fix. The drivers side memory seat buttons do not work. Their workmanship is poor and uncalled for. According to the female that answers the phone the service every vehicle that comes in period that is an untrue statement. I will never purchase a vehicle from this lot again. I can deal with things breaking but I cannot deal what dishonesty. I did not appreciate being lied to and deceived during the purchase of a vehicle. I can only imagine what you do with personal information. This car lot should not be trusted nor should people continue to conduct business with them. I have posted my photos of the poor workmanship and how they detail their vehicles. I will also be posting the same review on Yelp.

Terrible, the worst car buying experience Ive had. The Salesmen (Migual Cruz and Justin) both repeatedly lied to us for five hours, they lied about the condition of the vehicle and what they would do to correct the deficiencies. Migual and I arranged for a follow-up visit to allow the dealership time to make the repairs, and upon returning a week later NOTHING had been done, at which time Migual stated that the vehicle was being sold AS-IS and that they would not be making the repairs he promised would be made. Justin was just as bad when he tried to following up via telephone. Not knowing that I had already came in, stating that the vehicle was in GREAT condition and that any minor discrepancies had been corrected, only to get offensive when I informed him of what had expired with Migual. Justin was very disrespectful and offensive to the point that I instructed him to NEVER contact me again.Never, Ever will do business with the dealership and advised everyone to steer clear of them.

Don’t go here ! They post low prices but then tack on all these fees. They charged me $400 for license and registration but then only paid $60 to register the vehicle. They also added a $300 service fee to do this. When I ask them about the refund they sidestep and I still haven’t seen a refund Even though this is illegal

Sold me a car said everything was goodA week later I had to replace tires $500 then the mechanic say alignment was dangerously off $300 for a camber kit, battery died and got stuck on side of road another $200 this car is nothing but problems I wish I could have never come here and wasted money!

Friend bought a car from Star Auto and after a month it broke down on them. Mechanics told her it would cost more than what it was worth to fix it. Don’t go here.
