They are by far the most unethical/professional crooks I have ever crossed paths with. My fiancé and I came in to purchase his first vehicle. He was prequalified with Capital One with an interest rate of 8.15% with a 713 FICO score. William Goldrick was our sales representative. I informed “Bill Goldrick” that my fiancé was prequalified with Capital One and he confirmed they work with Capital One. We test drove the vehicle that was similar to the one we wanted that was located in Lowell, IN. He said he could get a lower interest rate and have the vehicle delivered the following morning Thursday 08/19/2021. He confirmed they had the vehicle in Lowell, IN Wednesday 08/18/2021 at 6:30pm however, he called Thursday morning at 9:32am stating that the car sold the Wednesday Morning 08/18/2021 put in mind he confirmed it was there that Wednesday night (weird right). To sum it up the vehicle was never detailed or attempted to be cleaned interest rate was lifted to 9.60% and changed to GM Financial and we were told that Capital One interest rate had magically increased beyond 9.60%. It’s reeked like a freaking tobacco outlet I paid $225 Friday 08/20/2021 for a company to remove the aggressive smoke oder from the vehicle and change the cabin air filter. I tried calling “William (Bill) Goldrick” and was informed he was off on Fridays and we would have to wait until tomorrow Monday 08/23/2021 to look into resolving our concerns of this bogusly “Certified Pre-Owned” vehicle. If we are satisfied with the outcome I will gladly update my review. However the facts are the facts.

Ive been with this company for almost 3 years and have only brought my car here for service. This morning when I woke up my car wouldnt start at all, I called the service center and the lady I spoke with was very rude. I explained the situation about my car and she was very short with me told me I need to get it towed in. Ok no problem. Then she tells me my car wont be ready til next week, even tho they dont even know whats wrong with it yet. Before I could finish asking about a loaner car she cut me off by saying they have no loaner cars available theyre all out. Never once did she suggest any alternatives or anything and she acted like I was an inconvenience for her or bothering her. So now Im even more upset trying to figure out who to call for a tow or maybe finding a different mechanic. I then decided to call the Highland Garber Chevy, and they were so nice. I explained my situation and they gave me a number for a tow company then told me not to worry they have plenty of loaner cars available for us! And they will have our car ready TODAY! I will no longer be doing business with Smith brothers in Hammond and will be going through Garber from now on for all of our needs. I hope your staff gets trained better in customer service so this wont happen to another client of yours. Some times the way you talk to people can have a very negative effect.

My 2011 Equinox was giving me a hard time. The condition got progressively worse. So after calling a couple other Chevy dealerships in my area, I called Smith Chevy. I was assisted by Wayne from start to finish. I explained my issue to him in detail. He had a very reassuring spirit. I felt this was the best place for my trucks repairs. The service was done fast, and Im super satisfied with how they got everything handled. I even has a couple recalls they took care of as well. I plan to take my truck there for all future services cause they really did well.

I normally go elsewhere for repairs but have always gone to Chevy dealerships for oil changes in the 5 years since buying my car. Smith Chevy has been my go to for about half of that time. After speaking with Wayne, however, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. He had a condescending tone the entire time I was trying to explain my concerns for a repair I was already confused about and even went as far as to tell me, “Is the check engine light on? No? Then if it’s not on, you don’t have a problem.” Oh, okay. Clearly dismissed the issue until I mentioned that the paperwork for my visits and vehicle history stated otherwise. (Turns out I don’t need a check engine light to tell me something is wrong with my car, especially if the technicians from Smith are the ones who caught it in the first place after performing an oil change a while back). I don’t feel like this is an appropriate attitude to have as a Customer Service rep, nor is this the kind of environment that helps make me feel prioritized as a customer. And based on older reviews where his name has popped up, it seems to be a recurring complaint. To top it all off, I nearly had to shout through my mask while an employee spoke loudly to another without even acknowledging that a customer was in the lobby.Regina has always been such a kind and familiar face any time I’ve come in for my oil changes, so I’m honestly upset that I won’t be back for any type of service! And I cant even imagine the workplace culture she has to deal with in light of this. I debated for a while whether or not to write this review, but I don’t pay dealership prices to be patronized and not taken seriously. It’s not only embarrassing but extremely inconvenient for someone already struggling to find someplace worthy of your TRUST and business. Smith Chevy, please do better.

My son purchased a(LEMON)vehicle almost a year ago and from the very start his tires would go low he has had to take the car back on numerous occasions! staff was unfriendly and rude! My girlfriend ordered a custom Chevy Cruze and they gave her a totally different car than what she ordered. She didnt get her sunroof, her touchscreen with backup camera, or power seats. Then they refused to get her car and said this is the one you picked. They didnt do anything to compensate for her paying for all the features. She paid for a car that she didnt get. When I pass by the dealership I give the finger and say a short prayer that these (bad doggies) step on Legos and have creatures die in the vents of that building so they have to smell something rotten forever!

On our way to camping in Michigan, a problem with our Chevrolet RV occured to where we were no longer able to continue. We were able to find this Smith Chevy dealership and made our way over. When we arrived they were very accommodating and took the RV in right away to get it checked out. They were able to find the problem right away and fix it for us in a very short amount of time. Specifically, thank you to both Regina and Randy for taking care of this problem professionally and getting us on our way.

This place will way over price a repair. They will lie to your lender. They wont call you for weeks on end. They will lock your car up with your personal possessions without you knowing. They hold your vehicle and dont inform your your lender. Terrible business. If need a chevy dealership DO NOT GO HERE!Ps...if you have a hybrid they are even worse. I am very unhappy I purchased my Chevy equinox in smith Chevrolet last year in which I was offered an extended warranty so I took it to be repair because my valve cover crack and I was supposed to have an additional warranty on it but they denied my claim because they said my car was running low on oil and of course it was running low on oil because it was leaking a lot of oil from the crack in the valve cover and I ended up paying for initial inspection and the additinal inspection that the warranty requested because they did not cover anything. I also had to pay out of pocket to towed my car out because even though I brought it running they didnt wanted to get it started because they said more damages can occur. This was not the first time that they did not cover my service they should not sell additional warranties if the are not going to cover for services I had bought cars in other dealers and have not had this problems my advise is if youre going to buy from them dont but additional warranty because you ended up paying for the warranty and have to pay additional out of pocket

I brought my car in for an oil change/tire rotation and to have a recall fixed. My car has a leaking resonator, instead of telling me I needed my whole exhaust pipe replaced, Wayne suggested a place where I could get it fixed quickly and for a fair price.
I visit Smith Chevy often. I take my lease vehicle there for service. Just so happens to visit the showroom while waiting and was offered a great deal on a new lease.

Regina, the Body Shop Manager, is incredibly unprofessional. Not only was she rude to me, but when I went to pick up my car later in the day, there was an older gentleman who walked in in front of me. She blatantly ignored him so she could continue her conversation about her Florida vacation with another man. The poor older gentleman had to ask her for help before she even acknowledged him. To have someone with such a lack of professionalism in a managerial position seems like a poor decision on Chevrolets part.

Extremely unhappy with the service at this dealership. Brought in a chevy cruze for front pad and rotor replacement, and the car was delivered back to me with a soft and spongy brake pedal. I returned to the service drive and was told it would break in, which will not happen. The brakes are a safety hazard becau,se theyre spongy and dont fully engage and I was told the car was fine. I do not trust the mechanics, writers, or service manager because they are lying to avoid do a proper job.
My brother brought his car in, had a oil light come on. They worked on it for a week before found out what it was, but he drove a rental and loved it. When his car came back it ran good.
Drove there for an oil change for $40 walked out spending $110 and a check engine light Lmao.

They couldnt answer any of my questions regarding car decals and pinstripes, body placement or dimension.The guy told me to Google it since he never was able to give me a definitive answer. 1st and last time for me. No thanks buddy.
The last two experiences at this dealership were very good. Regina is nice, we had some misunderstandings over the summer but they did work to fix them which I really appreciate. The service has been fast and courteous.

This visit was good. There have been other visits that didnt impress. The only thing this time were the three hours it took for a one hour job even when I was early for my appointment. It appeared to me that walk ins were taken and serviced before me despite my appointment. This job was done well once they finally got to it.

Wayne in service was very rude! He told me if I had an appointment and I told him no. It was just an oil change and I was told they accept walk in. He told me they had a few people before me. He also told me that hopefully he can get me in today for a oil change. This is the last time I will be going to this dealership!
