Ive been experiencing a shimmy in my steering wheel at highway speeds for over a year and I have taken my vehicle to several tire shops in Hagerstown without favorable results. I took it here for road force balancing and discovered that all of my tires that were supposed to have been balanced were not balanced. The mechanics advised me of exactly what the issue was and corrected it in less than an hour. Im very satisfied with the results and strongly recommend this shop to anyone who needs tire services.

My husband went here yesterday morning. He was second in line. He told Tony that he needed to have these lawn mower tires filled up that the gas stations air compressor couldnt do it. He stopped what he was doing and took them in the back. Less than 10 minutes later he came out with the tires all properly inflated. He insisted on carrying them to the car. My husband asked him how much he owed and Tony said $0.00 (zero). He asked what my husband was going to do with the old tires in the car, he said Ill recycle them for you. I have been a customer of Byrd Tire for years. They have always been fair and honest which to me is a huge plus. I have purchased tires from them as well as had regular service and repair work performed here. Recently I took my Subaru in to have them inspect a noise I have been hearing. As per Murphys law, the noise was not present the day of my visit. They explained the situation and simply said to come back when its more consistent. The bill for the day, $0.00. This is also not the first time I have experienced this type of service from them. They have won my business as a customer.

Called to get some advice on what kind of tires I should put on my new rims and when asked what kind of tire I wanted I said I was unsure and asked what he recommended. In response to this he sounded very annoyed and said call me back when you chose what you want. Not calling him back, guess Ill go spend $800 elsewhere.

My wife had a nail in her tire. Normally I would try and plug something like this but just been so overwhelmed with things going on and didn’t get to it… so we took it in to be repaired only to find out it was only a small tiny piece of a nail that didn’t puncture the tire. Expecting to at least pay a service fee for the inconvenience they simply said come again and no charges. Awesome service. Thank you!

I ran over a screw while traveling in MD. The staff was kind and the service was prompt. The tire could not be repaired and they did not have the tire I needed. They directed me to a place to get the new tire. They even filled my tire up to make sure I could drive it down the road. They didn’t charge me anything. Honest, kind, fast. I highly recommend this wonderful business.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a high quality mechanic that I can trust. After reading the reviews, I chose Byrd Tire & Alignment. Ive used many mechanics and companies over the years, but have never used one that was both very competent and also so honest. Byrd does great work and they are pretty quick. But they are also very honest. Ive never before had a mechanic talk me out of having work done on my vehicle because it was unnecessary. Ive since had work done on a couple of vehicles and the service is the same each time. And, Byrd wont nickel and dime their customers with lots of added costs like many chains will. If you are looking for a place you can get quality work done on your vehicle and also a place you can trust, this is the place to go. I highly recommend them. (And no, they did not pay me to write this review - I really AM that impressed!).

My daughter and I took my car in for a state inspection. While my car failed, that isnt why I am giving this place a poor rating. The gentleman we talked to spoke to us in such a rude manner I would not want to go back.I do not know that much about cars and trying to get him to explain what bushings are and where they are at was difficult at best.He was practically shouting at us saying Anyone who is in the car repair business knows what that is. Yet my daughter and I are not in the car repair business.At one point he raised his arms up and loudly said Welcome to AmericaWhat that had to do with what was wrong with my car, I do not know.

I went in last week for a tire change after getting a flat. The owner Dwayne was very professional and courteous and got me in and out in a very timely manner. While I was waiting I had a lovely conversation with the woman Charlene that worked there. She was very knowledgeable and made sure I was taken care of. I will definitely be taking my business there from now on and would recommend this great family owned company for anyone in the Hagerstown area.

Great and timely service. Was able to reinspect my car on the same day appointment was made. Even added little extras ( like untwisting my brake hose) with no charge. Friendly staff. Will be my regular mechanic. They even took the time to explain the alignment process to me. A true pleasure!

1 star because 0 isn’t an option. got an alignment with this company. 2 days and 50 miles later, the car rides very rough. 2 other companies have confirmed that the alignment is no where close to right. one tech described it as ‘whoever aligned that car was blind’ call byrds and they give me the runaround classic : ‘you are a liar and so are the other 2 companies’ 1000% positive i won’t get my money back for the poor service i have received. i would take my car to the zoo for the gorillas to work on before i return to byrds.

Bought a used dually truck and had a long drive ahead. I pulled in to Byrds and asked them if they would check the tire pressure for me, they took about 15 minutes going over it and no charge! Very friendly too. I highly recommend this shop!

Dont go to this place,is not good service,they told me to replace the 2 axels, that it was the only issue and reason why it failed the first time,I did fix it, and few days after when I came back to reinspect it the car, it failed again, saying then I have to fix more things, they do this to take your money .my car after the second inspection it was making big noise, they made a hole at the exhaust close to the engine during the inspection causing big noise, because they not be careful when inspect your car. See the proof picture from the second test. Trust me I’m not mechanic but I’m not stupid,they can lie to people or women then doesn’t know about cars,I know my cars and I know when someone wants to take a advantage from you. People can be gentle taking care of you giving you free coffee or treating you nice,but you have to be careful what they do to your car,and I’m not only talking about this place,I’m talking about any place then you go.

I got my car inspected here a few months ago,and was very impressed with the entire team. Dwayne was very professional and courteous. So, I was there for the Maryland Vehicle Inspection and I was amazed how friendly and professional the staff were . I saw a mom come in with a little girl and the staff of Byrd came with a coloring book and crayons for the little girl. The work was done and completed within 45 minutes and the price was very reasonable as well. I highly recommend them for you auto needs.

Took the car in for MD inspection. $100. Came back and said needed headlights cleaned/defogged, new wipers needed and a new CV Axle? Something like that. Lol Total $599. I was a little shocked at the price but what am I going to do? I can buy everything I need to fix this car for less than $200 but whos going to fix it for me?! Lol I ordered the part and they said they would call when it came in and we would schedule the appt then. A week passes and no call. So I called and he said yeah I have 1 of those parts in stock. I said I hope so, you ordered it for me! Lol made my appt. Something came up and I missed my appt. Called and rescheduled. I dropped the car off at 1130a/12p and it was done in 4 hours. Picked it up the next day, paid the $600 and inspection was passed. All the guys there were very pleasant and knowledgeable. My only issue is the cost of labor. Cost of labor was almost 3x the amt of the parts needed. Otherwise, guys did a good job, extremely friendly and flexible. Hope this review helps someone.

My family has gone to Byrd Tire for years, they’re great! I was able to have my MD state inspection done today after calling in. Everything was done within an hour and the staff was very friendly and professional. I will definitely be coming back when I need something done on my vehicle!

Every time I have gone to Byrd I get amazing service. As a women I appreciate that they do not talk down to me and or try to nickle and dime me. They have definitely earned my business by being straight forward and honest.

The owner and manager of Byrd tire was excellent to work with. He was friendly honest and gave very fair pricing on high quality tires. His shop staff were friendly and professional. This is a great honest family owned business. I went in to get an alignment because they were able to squeeze me in as my alignment was an emergency because I thought I could have broken front end suspension parts. They informed me that an alignment wouldnt be possible if anything was lose in my suspension. They were honest an told me that my alignment was just really jacked up. They had me all taken care of and fixed up for less than $100. Honest good mechanics are hard to find. I recommend to anyone.

DO NOT GET YOUR MD INSPECTION DONE HERE!!!First try, they told me 5 things were wrong. Took it to my mechanic, he told me it should’ve passed but I still paid to get the work done (their estimate was $1500 higher than my mechanics).Second try, they told me 4 completely different things were wrong, (i only drove 600 miles since the last inspection), as the owner stood behind the desk in the front room smoking a cigarette, stuttering and acting suspicious. Wouldn’t even tell me if it passed or failed before i gave him “cash or card”, and trust me, i tried to get that information. He later called me and told me it’s an $800 estimate and possibly more, as i told him i checked a few of the things, and they work, he told me he could give me the state troopers number to settle the matter if i think they did wrong... L O LAnyways, i took it to my mechanic, after testing a few of the things myself, he assured me there’s nothing wrong and to get it inspected somewhere else, I did just that, and it passed first try.All in all, the people at this establishment are unprofessional and conduct their practice unlawfully. Go anywhere else, just not here.

Went for a state Inspection, after running into problems at another shop and instead of doing the Inspection like I asked and letting me pay the extra money they sent me back to the shop I originally had problem with. Nice way to bring new customers to your shop.

Bought a set of wheels from Custom Offsets that came mounted and balanced. I had vibration at highway speeds that got annoying, figured it was price of bigger tires. Brought the truck here for road force balancing, problem fixed! Nice staff, got in quick. Highly recommend!

I went to Bryds today for a maryland state inspection.I called ahead of time, the customer service was very good, they scheduled an appointment promptly with me the same day, when I arrived, again, customer service was great, Gene was very kind and welcoming, the staff did a great job ! They were very honest ! And that left a great impression on me ! My wife was traveling in the Hagerstown MD area when she noticed the tire pressure light on. She found Byrd Tire and Gene the general manager properly patched the tire(from the inside) and she was on her way. Unbelievable, Gene did NOT charge her for this service. Pick somewhere else. Called in here to ask questions about coordinating approximately $1200 worth of guaranteed repair work for a business vehicle. Gentleman was very rude...”too busy” to take my call. Picking some place else and will give them the work. I will never take any of my personal vehicles here now either...ever.

When my family member chose not to get a transmission installed bcuz they didnt want to invest that much money in an older car, the tech actually suggested somewhere else that specialized in transmissions and could do it for less. This was my first time there and I am very impressed. I usually go to another place, but I was in a hurry and I noticed them as I was driving by so I decided to go in. Its the end of the day and they were close to closing time, but they did not turn me away despite that. They were very professional and helpful and I appreciate the fact that they help me out even though it was almost closing time. they offered some really good advice and also gave me some quotes on new tires which I am planning on purchasing from them. After trying a number of other tire stores in town for tires and auto repair, I found these guys and have been so happy with their service etc. They have been able to take care of me in a jam, they have been very fair on price and have been honest when they had an opportunity to take advantage. We were on our way back to Pittsburgh from the Bethany Beach when our engine light went on a mile before the Hagerstown exit. It was 8AM with no appointment and they had us back on the road by 10:30. Staff was super friendly and helpful-even good to my kids. Couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. Gene and Duane were the experts who helped us.

I had to get two new tires for my car. Called and they got me in the same day. The lady who runs the front is so sweet! One of the mechanics was at the front when I dropped my car off, and we chatted for a bit about our kids. Really nice, down to earth people!Had my car done in less than 45 minutes. We got a flat tire on 70 and they got us a new tire and back on the road in an hour. Very helpful and friendly staff, they even had candy for my 5 year old!

Great service. A new pressure sensor valve was too expensive for my budget. They removed the sensor and replaced the faulty valve and balanced the tire at no charge. I have done business with them in the past and will continue to do business with them in the future.

A few weeks back, my wife had struck an object which caused a fast leak to her tire. She needed same-day service. Her vehicle was on the opposite end of Dual Hwy and obviously needed the work done ASAP. She tried two chain providers off of Dual (should be enough to tell you who) and they wanted $1250-$1500 for 4 tires/labor and that she would have to leave her vehicle. She needed the same-day and both turned her away, not even offering any courtesy air.Thankfully, she was able to limp the vehicle to Byrd. Their quote came in $500 less and they could offer same-day service. They even drove her home after the drop off. To top it off, we received a call an hour later that they were able to safely patch the tire. A $1300 bill turned to $800 turned to $35. You cant beat that honesty and customer service.Any of these other shops could have ripped us off; also when they realized they werent getting the business, they shunned my wife away during an incredibly inconvenient time. Byrd has more than earned our loyalty and business for life so long as they keep up these standards. Thank you again!EDIT: I gave prices for transparency and this applies to my situation only. Obviously, these types of issues change on a case-by-case basis. Please do not interpret the prices I gave as the cost of their services.

Very polite and prompt. Just took my car to Byrd to top off the nitrogen in the tires and tighten a door restraining bolt. The bolt broke off so they removed the remaining bolt and put in a new one. Did it all without an appointment and without a wait. The work was done promptly and professionally. Tony did a FABULOUS job and no charge:). I have always been able to trust Byrd to dont right and not overcharge. Its nice having a local auto repair service you can depend on.

Where do I begin? I made a road trip here from Colorado to visit family mostly and I have a few stops to make in other states before I head back home. I recently had some front end issues that destroyed one tire and had been wearing pretty hard on another after making the bad one my spare. I had replaced some parts which corrected the issues and had an alignment done to prevent further wear. Anyway, after driving here it looked like the worst worn tire wouldnt survive the trip back and the spare was shot so I decided Id better get some new tires. I called Byrd this morning to price a set. After calling a handful of other places I soon realized they were the only shop in the area that had the tires I needed in stock. I called back, curious as to how soon I could have them installed expecting to be told Id need to wait a few days. They gave me an appointment for this afternoon to my surprise (its Friday). They were kind, highly knowledgeable, fairly priced, and took the time (well past their closing time) to clearly explain everything I had a question about. They even swapped the best tire I had left to the wheel for the spare, which is the ugliest of the bunch. It wasnt necessary and I didnt ask them to do so but they treated my vehicle as they would their own and it didnt go unnoticed! If everyone did business the way they do the world would be a better place! I cant thank them enough!!!

This place has an amazing customer service. The staff are super professional and helpful. I went in because my tire pressure indicator showed a tire loosing air, They took the time to find the small nail that was causing a slow leak. No appointment was necessary and I was out within the hour. There are tire shops along the Dual Highway, and then there are AWESOME service shops, like Byrds. I received nothing short of excellent service every time I went in. Also bought tires from them at a reasonable price.

After five different tire shops and two completely different sets and brand of tires they checked the truck over, balanced the tires right, and explained what they found.
