Found this place tucked away across the street from First Watch. The coffee was excellent and the food was just as good if not BETTER than First Watch. Plus we did not need to wait to be seated. I had the Loco Moco Acai Bowl and my fiance went with the more traditional pancakes, eggs, and bacon. We picked up a cinnamon roll to go. We went right back the very next day for some avocado toast, tea, and a smoothie. Definitely will make this a regular place if we can. Looking forward to trying lunch!

Friendly employees. Coffee was good. Breakfast french toast and scrambled eggs was tasty. Service was slow but they make the food to order.

The coffee here is the best Ive had in Arizona. The beans are freshly roasted and the pastries are baked the night before. Absolutely zero burnt taste to the coffee and the staff are incredibly sweet and courteous. They have a second location in AJ that recently opened up; my husband went there just the other day and also had a wonderful experience. Truly a hidden gem!

Everything was so flavorful and made with quality ingredients! We had coffee, cider, blueberry muffin, a steak bowl, the peanut butter acai bowl and the French man breakfast sandwich. We could recommend all of it. Well definitely be coming back again!

Cute coffee shop with a great menu of pastries and food. Cappuccino is delicious - not too bitter, not too sweet. The cinnamon roll was delicious! A little too much cream cheese for my taste, but hey, Id rather have too much than too little. Quick and friendly service. Perfect, cozy areas to enjoy a good book.

This place is great! I got an iced vanilla coconut latte and apple spice muffin today! I highly recommend both— the muffin has fresh apple chunks inside and tastes like heaven if you ask them to warm it up for you. Lots of options for drink choices and more gluten-free treats in the bakery case than most bakeries. I will definitely be back and bring my mom next time as she is allergic to gluten and we have a heck of a time finding cute spots to order coffee and baked goods that she can enjoy.

I stopped in this morning for a cup of tea and a breakfast sandwich. It’s a cute little coffee shop in a good location. My (very hot) tea was served right away but I waited 20 minutes for my breakfast sandwich. It was a busy, rainy, Saturday morning so I will give them a pass on this and stop in again another day. I love to support small, local businesses so they’ll get another shot with me. Their pastries in the case looked delicious as did the plates of breakfast that went past me as I sat at the counter. A breakfast burrito, in particular, caught my eye!

The gluten free carrot cake melts in your mouth. Not too sweet and very moist! The pumpkin chocolate chip muffin, also gluten free, was soft, fresh and tasty. The coffee was marvelous, smooth and roasted in house! Highly recommend, make sure to get there early as the close at 2pm!

Stopped in here in between shopping. Had a large white mocha and the zesty breakfast sandwich. So glad I gave this location and try and didnt go to the bagel shop nearby. I really enjoyed the sandwich which was very refreshing. The veggies were all fresh. The egg (easy over) will run with yolk after you bit in to it. Best part was mopping it up with the nicely toasted croissant. The mocha was also good but I felt it paled next to the sandwich. Cant wait to bring the family here.

They were so very kind, delicious hot chocolate made to perfection. I had a chocolate chip muffin that was just delicious!!! Recommend it!!! Tried HG roastery for the first time this morning. I got a Carmel macchiato and biscuits and gravy. My coffee was really good and the biscuits and gravy were pretty good. My husband got the steak breakfast burrito, that was really yummy! We also ordered traditional breakfast for my son, he seemed to enjoy it. My husband also had a white mocha, it was one of the best ones Ive tried! We had a deal for a free pastry and opted for the cinnamon roll, it was so gooey and delicious!! I saw they make giant chocolate chip cookies, was very tempting! I liked the atmosphere, it was inviting and cozy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would love if they opened in one in North Mesa!

This tucked off cafe is a true gem! I stopped in this morning when they first opened to grab a coffee and muffin on my way into work. My first impression was small but very inviting. The seating is limited but they do offer seating outside as well. The young lady who helped me was very polite and made an amazing Caramel Macchiato! If you enjoy caramel drinks at the franchised coffee shops, do yourself a favor and stop in for an even better drink from HG! While youre there, grab yourself a warm blueberry muffin to go with it. Delicious!!!

Quaint coffee shop brimming with locals. They roast in store. Out of this world good latte. Their cinnamon buns are unique and delicious (and too big for one person 😉 great to share) Great place, stop in and give it a try, they also serve lunch!

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to visit this coffee shop! It is tucked in the parking lot across from one of my favorite Sprouts, a little cozy hidden gem. The shop vibe is industrial meets rustic with a high wooden bar, exposed piping, reclaimed wood, etc.They have a nice little menu with breakfast, bakery, coffee, and tea items, with lunch items starting at 11:00 (according to their website).I tried the Sunrise avocado flatbread, which had smashed avocado, arugula, tomatoes, and medium cooked eggs on a flatbread. It was delicious! The flatbread had a wonderful texture, like a crispy tortilla (but a little thicker) with a chewy center. The prices for everything were very fair.I had only 2 misgivings with our visit. First, I ordered a blueberry muffin, and they heated it up for me, which was nice. However, it had a strong “freezer burn” taste. I don’t know if they are bake and then frozen or freshly baked, but either the muffin itself or the batter was rather stale (in taste, not in texture). It’s possible that having it heated up accentuated that flavor, but either way - we did not finish the muffin. After a few bites, I couldn’t stomach the strong freezer taste. My other small and admittedly very personal complaint was the sugar free syrup. I worked as a barista for a few years, so this is only a guess - but I believe they use a different brand for their sugar free vanilla syrup. They have a wall full of Monin syrups, which are some of the best! But the sugar free vanilla in my latte tasted a lot like Torani, which is much worse in my opinion. I could be completely wrong about this, and again, it’s just a personal preference on taste, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the SF vanilla syrup. I would probably just go with a plain latte next time.Overall, we were very happy with our visit! I will definitely be back to try more breakfast items, although I will be avoiding the baked goods from now on.

A very cozy roastery. I was met with a warm smile and enjoyed the friendliness of the young lady up front. She was so pleasant throughout the time that I there completing some work on my computer.I went during the week. I found it to be a good place to meet someone for a bite to eat and chat or for a workspace.

Cute place. I got a Costa Rican coffee and a muffin. The food other people were having around me looked appetizing. However, in search of great coffee, this was not it. If you’re doing the same, you’re better off going elsewhere. But if you want a cozy place to meet up, with some decent food options, this is it.

A little hidden gem. Friendly staff and cute ambiance, although a little small there were more inside tables than I expected after reading other reviews. I was afraid we would be eating outside which in Sept even at 9 am isnt fun but there were plenty of seats. Coffee was good and I am picky after growing accustomed to that familiar chain but HG was really good. Enjoyed our breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon which was cooked perfectly and potatoes also wonderful. I had the flatbread with avocado, eggs over medium, tomato and arugula, very good. Well be back to try a muffin since all of the reviews say they are good.

Good service. Okay coffee, but I am very picky about my coffee. Traveling from Seattle where we love our coffee and I have noticed it’s tough to find good coffee in Arizona so far. The coffee here is a bit better than moat of what I have encountered in AZ.

I recently tried their holiday flavor - vanilla coconut and I thought it was amazing! They also have mint chocolate muffins for the Christmas season. I highly recommend. Such a cute quiet cafe! I got the caramel macchiato and a double chocolate muffin- they were nice to ask if Id like the muffin warm, because they were near closing. Next door to a pure Barre gym and not far from San tan shopping mall! Even though the place is small, they have extra seating in the front and back of the cafe, as well as a small bar area.

Stopped by to get some coffee and a muffin today! Apple spice muffin was delicious with apple chunks in it (reminded me of my hometown bakery). And their coffee 😍 you can tell that the grounds are freshly roasted! This is definitely my new favorite coffee spot, way better than any Starbucks!

We came this morning. It was basically just us and a few other people who ordered and left. We ordered a Huevos Rancheros and a HG special. We received the HG special which was a small bowl and didnt look like the pictures. It had good flavor, it was just a really small portion. We ate that, 20 min later after not receiving our Huevos Rancheros my we asked about it. They hadnt sent that part of the order to the back. Another 5-10 it finally came. It was fine, nothing spectacular. I would not recommend the breakfast. The people were nice it just wasnt a great experience.

I ordered the hoagie and it was loaded with egg, sausage, bacon and cheese. It was really good. I rarely have more than a smoothie for breakfast so this was way too much for me to eat so I shared it with my kids and they both thought it was great. The staff was very friendly. It is a small shop but close by is Sprouts,Kohls and other stores. If you do attempt to eat the whole breakfast hoagie you can always walk around so that you do not feel it. They had a lot of other great breakfast items as well as a lot of pastrys and muffins that looked good. Will have to try those another time when I go back.

Coffee was really good here! Its a little hard to find if its your first time going, but its worth the extra time. I wasnt a fan of the chocolate muffin. It wasnt old or anything just different than what Ive had at other cafés. Highly recommend the coffee though!

I went and the environment was so nice. COFFEE IS AMAZING! I don’t suggest getting the cinnamon roll. Or maybe ask for half the cream on top bc they just loaded it with the cream and it was too sweet. But other than that I thought it was awesome.

Employees dont wear masks despite being close to food, other employees and customers. We actually didnt notice any extra care, or precautions taken even though its still recommended by both the CDC and ARA. The only added step they took when it comes to fighting possible infection in their restaurant is placing stickers on the floor, spaced out 6 feet apart. So something to consider if youre high-risk and thinking about ordering food from here.Besides that misstep, the breakfast burritos were pretty good (nothing amazing but better than other places) and the Zesty breakfast sandwich is delicious but messy, but also worth it. The baked goods taste as good as they look - which is good, but not amazing. Staff was nice.

Cute little cafe around the corner from our place. We had no idea it was there, and we visit the sprouts in the same parking lot almost daily. We got their chorizo burritos for breakfast, and they were wonderful! Not greasy like some others, and they came with guac! 🎉

Food, coffee, lemonade, tea, pastries, and more! This place has INCREDIBLY hipster/high end coffee with prices much fairer than Starbucks. Dont like coffee? No problem! They have a variety of tea, lemonade, and other beverages. Every drink is super customizable, and there are so many flavors you can pick from. The staff know everything about coffee & tea, are friendly, and tell good jokes! Lots of great choices with their food, and its all delicious! Clean bathrooms, plenty of seating, fun art and decor, even easy to read menus. Dropped in to try something new. Got the Power in a quesadilla option and a iced mocha coffee. Quesadilla was filling and was great. Mocha very good as well. Will be going back.

Found a diamond in the ruff. This cute little roaster and cafe is something to die for. Great coffee, my daughter had a strawberry smoothie which was super sweet but it had most delicious whip cream you have ever had and a double chocolate muffin that I thought was over the top amazing but my daughter thought it was too much. I think the only down part about This place is that they close everyday at 2pm and with my work schedule its hard to get here while they are open. They also serve food. Cute little coffee and breakfast/lunch place. I had the gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip muffin and a pumpkin chai latte. The muffin was moist and flavorful, hard to come by with gluten free foods! The latte was just a little on the watery side for my liking, but the pumpkin came through which I liked. This is clearly a popular spot, I was there for 3.5 hours and they were busy the entire time. Id definitely go back to try more of the gluten free line up and a coffee based beverage!

Was driving by and needed a coffee fix stat! The staff was helpful picking out something different than my usual white mocha. I had one of their fresh baked muffins (apple spice) and tasted like fall! Quick yet friendly service for a Monday morning.

First time here. We certainly on right before closing because we didnt know the hours. The lady working was so nice and pleasant and didnt mind that we came in right before closing. She made us our coffees and we bought a pound of coffee to try at home. Coffee was amazing and the Brazil beans we got for home was so good. Definitely one of new favorite places now. Highly recommend. Also the have food items as well. Only drawback is they close at 2.

How did I not know about this place before?! I’m so excited I found it, because it’s going to be my new favorite coffee shop. The inside is this cute little café, the latte was amazing and the muffin was super soft and delicious. The girl who took my order was so sweet! Will definitely be stopping here to get my daily coffee fix.

The meals are perfectly portioned. My daughters Kids Traditional and my bowl were perfect amount and filling. I liked my chai latte as well. The employees were nice. The tables aesthetics was sort of industrial which I thought was odd for a breakfast cafe but it was decorated well and comfortable enough. It is awesome that they ground their own coffee there.

Its a cute place. Very clean and friendly service. On our first visit we had a hot chocolate and a blueberry lemon scone. They were good. On our second visit we got a frozen strawberry lemonade- so good- and a warmed cinnamon roll that was FABULOUS. Ill definitely go back for one of those.

Meh, food was okay. Small portions and not very flavorful. Nice employees, but the food is lacking.I didnt try any drinks though, so that may be something that is great, but I dont know.

We love the coffee at HG! They have great baristas that consistently make the best oat milk lattes I’ve ever had and we always bring a bag of beans home. Definitely recommend!

Higher Grounds is my favorite local coffee shop in Gilbert. They have world class coffee and impressive food offerings. Most coffee spots only have muffins or bagels at the most. Even Starbs only has microwave food. Higher Grounds has muffins, bagels AND delicious cooked food. I love ordering the Red Tux latte and the Englishman breakfast sandwich. I’ve noticed that families are showing up to HG for brunch and students are popping up with their laptops but not annoyingly so. If you haven’t come in yet, add Higher Grounds to your list and Support Local!

A little hard to find, but such a cute and cozy shop. The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffin was delicious, especially warmed up! And my boys really loved their Strawberry Italian Soda. There was something here for everyone.

The coffee was really really good... Obviously. The real winner of this trip was the peanut butter coffee cake. That and some of the black coffee or a cappuccino would be the way to go. My wife loved her drink and bagel too. Were gonna make this a regular stop.

Upon walking in the atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming, the staff was friendly and down to earth. Ordered a cold brew and a muffin. The cold brew was delicious, smooth and made perfect. The muffin was unreal, so fresh, so delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more.

Google recommended this place to me and I thought I would write a review. Came here shortly after it opened a few years ago and expected a warm welcome given the newness of the establishment. No hello or welcome given from the employee behind the counter. Ordered an iced mocha and really couldnt distinguish between them and SBUX. Havent been back since and kind of surprised its still in business. Perhaps Ill head back one day but given the plethora of coffee options available, it might be awhile.

We were visiting from Alberta Canada. Wanted to find a place near by that roasted their own coffee. This place was about an hour from us. Well worth the drive! Food was fabulous! Staff was super friendly! Nice place! Loved it!
