I dropped my car off at the shop with an ac compressor that was falling apart and a serpentine belt that was chewed up, and they replaced both of those in a couple of days for a reasonable price. 10/10 service I was kept updated throughout the whole process.

My Mom and I were headed to Galveston for lunch when the warning lights on the dashboard warned the Suv was overheating. I was going to pullover to a gas Station and saw RT EXHAUST & AUTOMOTIVE. We were in a mess. A/c went out the day before we were returning home. The owner personally took over the job of installing new parts and ensuring that everything was working. Being from out of town, I was at their mercy. Ended up, a great experience, quality work and a fair price. In and out in two and a half hours. Would recommend unconditionally. By the way, the Chevy Dealership said they would not even be able to look at it for two days.

Great mechanic that went above and beyond to fix our vehicle. We were vacationing in Galveston when our van started overheating. He stayed open late to diagnose the issue, got parts the next morning, and had it fixed before we had to check out of our hotel. Nice people and all good price. Welded only half of the pipe for an exhaust had a missive audible exhaust leak leaving the shop. Maybe they were in a rush but that’s a rather large mistake.

My family and I arrived in Galveston on a Thursday. We were driving down seawall on Sunday when my pickup skidded to a stop. I got out and noticed my driveline was on the ground and the differential was leaking oil onto the road. I called for a tow truck and they arrived quickly. The towing company said they could fix my truck but to call them Monday morning when they open. I called the towing company and had to call them back an hour later for the lady to tell me she can’t find a differential for my truck. She then told me if she did find one they wouldn’t be able to get it till Tuesday. So I googled mechanic shops and noticed the 5 star rating R/T exhaust has. So I called them and explained that I was on vacation there in Galveston and needed my truck fixed so I could drive home Tuesday. I had called enterprise and no rental cars were available for the week. The owner told me to give him a few minutes and he would call me back. A few minutes later and this great man told me he found a differential and could have it fixed that same day. I was surprised since I would have to have it towed to his shop and then they could fix it. This was not a quick easy job. This man kept to his word and his amazing mechanics had my truck running by 4 on Monday. That’s after them getting the truck around 11. This amazing group of men saved me time,money,and a huge headache. I drove the truck 8hrs back home with no problem. If you don’t use this shop you should. A huge thank you goes out to R/T Exhaust.

My A/C finally stopped working after a year of giving me trouble, of course right in the middle of summer. A friend recommended R/T Automotive to me, and they turned out to be the most affordable, convenient, and friendly option! Bobby took the time to explain what had broken in my car and gave me a detailed quote for how much it would cost to have it fixed. And when I decided to stick with them for the repair, he fixed it within one day, and then showed me exactly what had gone wrong with the compressor. (Basically, it exploded.) I was impressed by how straightforward and honest they were. Would highly recommend them!

Simply, you can’t find or get better service. I have a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that the Chevrolet Dealership would not touch because it was not purchased there. It has about 210,000 miles on it and it purrs like a kitten. I think it’s going to be good for 500,000 miles! I’m a customer of R/T for life regardless of the vehicle I’m driving. Ask for Bobby or Johnnie.

I put a good sized dent on my exhaust pipe and knock it a little loose from collector. He got me in and took care of it quickly. Great service. Will definitely return for any and exhaust work.

Had to have my cargo carrier welded back onto my hitch welded after some jackars hit it and ran. I was out of there within 30 minutes. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs a weld or exhaust done.

I give this shop 6 stars! One review below states that 5 stars is not enough and I agree. On vacation, had unexpected trouble and Robert himself stopped what he was doing to diagnose the issue. He did this as to not waste our time in the event he could not help., however, he was able to fix and after a little vehicle cool down he had us going in 3 hours. Everyone in the shop was courteous and professional and did not talk down to customers. I definitely have this place book marked for Galveston.

Tailpipe broke in half just in front of the muffler on the highway.Wired it up so it would not drag. Took it to RT and he welded it right away!Back on the road in 15 minutes. Honest, Efficient, Reasonable Price!

A great shop run by a couple good ol boys. I drove up with an air leak and they had it diagnosed and fixed in an hour and a half including a couple runs to the dealership for parts. Im very happy with their service and expertise and I will be back in the future.

My daughters vehicle was towed there, after a botched inspection after an oil change location. They took the time to look at it, add oil (free of charge), and tell her to stay local. She had just had them replace catalytic converter. The price was unbeatable! We use them solely now! They treat each customer as if they were family!

Are you kidding me! This place rocks!! Highly recommended be others, I went in to have the front end hub assembly and exhaust replaced! Thinking that I was going to be with out of a truck for a few days, Bobbie said he could have it done by the end of the day and he did!! Went in again a few weeks later for hub locks and he had those done within a few hours!! Not to mention the great prices for a great service!! Very nice. Called for an oil change and got an appointment the same day. They not only changed the oil but greased all the door hinges, checked wiper blades, topped off all fluids. Definitely will go there if cars need any future repairs. Thank you Robert!

R/T Automotive came highly recommended to me by a good friend of mine. I took my truck in for Valve Cover Gasket Replacements and a new Starter installed. Great, work at a fair price. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable; they can do just about anything here. They were also quite patient with me when I came to check on the progress a couple of times. I highly recommend this shop. If they can do it, I wouldnt take my vehicle to anyone else.

I’ve gone here several times over the past six years I’ve lived in Galveston, and it never disappoints. Bobby is friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced (for instance, today I went to another shop, only because I happened to be close and it was convenient, and they were going to charge me over three times what RTE ended up charging me - and it couldn’t have been any better work!). Go here, and you’ll never need another mechanic.

These guys are angels! Yesterday we had a flat tire and after getting that changed to the spare we were on our way again. Except it only lasted about 2 miles, then the spare went flat right in front in front of their shop. They sprung into action quickly and came up with a solution and went way above and beyond even exceptional service. They went and picked up a tire from a tire shop, WITHOUT prepayment, came back installed and got us on our way and only charged for the tire. Huge blessing to this single mama. If you ever need anything...this is the place to go. Truly honest and professional shop!

I had a bar that was welded to my exhaust pipe break off, and it left a hole in the pipe. My car drove like a go-cart, and sounded like a tractor. I randomly picked this business out of several that popped up from my Google search. Normally its like rolling the dice on getting a good mechanic anyways, so I didnt do any research. I dont believe I could have been any luckier. When I called and explained the issue with my vehicle, Bobby told me to bring it in, and he would have it fixed in about 20 minutes. It only took him 10 minutes, and he charged me only half of what he stated on the phone. I couldnt have had a better experience. I highly recommend this company to any and everyone. Thanks Bobby.

I needed my catalytic converter replaced, and went somewhere for an estimate. The price was very high and it took me very long to get enough for it. Then I went to R/T for the repair due to it being closer than the other place and thank god I did. Not only was the estimate $500 less than the other place, but I was given a student discount too! Writing a good review is the least I can do after such great service.

(Spent some extra time to make a google account to leave a review for this awesome automotive shop)Hands down best customer service! From the previous reviews it was not hard to spot who Bobby was. Our F550 dually was towed to his shop and we spent the night there. It was cold and raining but he still changed our alternator out in the rain. He did a full diagnostic and pointed out reasons why the alternator went out due to previous work from another mechanics. We trusted him and hired him to fix all the other issues from a compressor to belt tensioner.He was not out for money and was genuinely a great mechanic. We spent 8 hours at the shop and while waiting for the work to get done we watched him interact with other customers.Bobby did an oil change for a lady and checked a bunch of other things for her too (tire pressure, greased her doors, etc) that she didn’t ask to get done and was very thankful he did. He also welded an exhaust and told the customer it’ll be ready so the customer can go to a meeting and come back to pick it up. He is a man of his word and delivered!This is someone who loves their profession and is passionate about diesels so I highly recommend Bobby for your diesel needs! He does work on smaller engines as wellAnd btw he does have a very comfy sofa I fell asleep on a few times in while waiting!

Excellent, honest work! Fast turnaround. Bobby knows his stuff! Ive taken 2 vehicles there including a Hemi engine swap and service was remarkable. Had some issues after engine swap (not related to the work done), the owner drove from Galveston to Friendswood (over 30 miles) on a Saturday, to diagnose the issue. Im a fulltime RVer passing through Galveston and blow out the muffler on my chevy 3500hd. We had a clip from the undercarriage come off and a piece was dragging. Bobby fixed it in a matter of minutes and didnt even charge for it. The service was awesome and I appreciate how easy it was to drive in and get fixed up right off our cruise. Id definitely come here again when Im in the area.

Had engine problems on the beach in Bolivar with our RV(Gas engine). Called Bob first thing in the morning and hed take a look at it.
