Though the title lists the Elmhurst My Mechanic, this review is about my experience at My Mechanic in Clarendon Hills, ALWAYS there when needed! They have helped with 3 emergencies, one being what I believed to be a nail in my tire because of the terrible noise it was making. They checked it out immediately, & determined it was a large rock (removed) and sent me on my way, refusing to charge me. They are kind, considerate and honest. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any make/model of a vehicle.

I cannot recommend this place enough for any mechanic needs.

I needed to get a patch when i ran over a nail, i stopped in and they were extremely helpful/ accommodating, the guy at the front desk knew i was on my way to work and did his best to get me in and out quickly so i was barely late to work. Pricing was fair as well. Definitely recommend based off my limited experience!

Great service. Honest mechanic. Takes pictures before the job. Communicates with a full report via text or email. Tells you the priority repairs and what would be good to fix soon as well. Gives you a detailed invoice.

Ive been using this garage for many years and they always take care of me. They are the only garage that I trust to work on my car. They make the best effort to save me money and have always gone out of their way to help me with emergency repairs. If I move away I will still bring my car here. Im on the road alot and they always alert me if something is going bad so I can plan ahead. As a result of their regular inspections my trips have been trouble free. Having a garage you can trust is a rare thing. The staff there are the friendliest most welcoming people ever. I would recommend them to anyone.

This shop is handily just down the street, but that is not why I use them. They are knowledgeable and friendly. A basic vehicle inspection was performed on my vehicle. Any issues or normal maintenance needs are pointed out. If it was my choice, any of the issues or maintenance items could have been done during the visit. I would highly recommend this shop.

Andy did a full vehicle analysis and created a report of the work it needed.He ended up helping replace the struts and control arm. One of the parts was actually defective from the manufacturer. Andy installed a new one no charge.

From the moment you either call or stop in the shop, you are treated professionally and with warmth. All work is discussed with you prior to implementation with fair pricing presented. Im very pleased with their service.

With all the reviews I went here with great expectations. I made my appointment and arrived on time. They took over two hours to fully inspect my vehicle when I told them what the problem was beforehand, and I did not need a full inspection (luckily this was $0). He told me that hed have to do a second inspection to further diagnose the problem without even fixing it... he told me itd cost an hour ($120). Thats insane to me. Im sure they do a great job but just warning you theyre the type of place to upsell you for sure. They are nice though!

I know this new mechanic shop will do very well in their new Clarendon Hills location. I was having a problem with a broken dip stick for the oil. I saw the new sign and garage doors being open I stopped in. Although they hadnt official opened for business they did look, and fix the broken oil stick. I was very impressed with the service and to top it off,(pun intended) there was no charge for this. I highly recommend this new mechanic in town. Have been using them for a couple of years now for both my cars. Good assessments and fair pricing. I dont feel like I am getting ripped off when I deal with them. They do a quick turnaround on their work as well. Only drawback is that they dont have much of a waiting area for you to do your work while your car is getting fixed. This is more off a drop off and pick up later place.

Best mechanic shop ever. The owner and the employees provide A1 service and I never feel like theyre robbing me blind. Prices are reasonable and they have cared for a couple of my cars for me over the years and have kept them running in tip top shape. Great shop for women. Love these guys.

My mechanic took care of me as if I was family. They diagnosed my need for new shocks and then afterward noticed my tires needed to be rotated and did it quickly free of charge. They also patiently explained to me about my car and what they did. I can’t recommend them enough. I live in Bridgeport now but I still will only take my car to my mechanic! Thank you my mechanic !

Great auto shop the staff are all nice and they know how to fix a car.

My brake lights went out and I was out of town. I didn’t want to drive in rush hour traffic on a Friday night without any indicators or brake lights. I called Alex, a well versed employee, and asked if he could get me in immediately. He said absolutely. After a quick diagnosis, my lights were fixed and Alex charged me very reasonably. I would go back to this place without a doubt. All locals should give him a look.

They misdiagnosed a problem with my car and said my suspension was busted and that it would cost over $2500 to fix. They suggested another $2000 worth of work/parts since its an older car, totaling to over $4500. Took it in for a second opinion at another mechanic and my car needed tires and an alignment. Im not sure if they were trying to scam me (probably), but if nothing else a mechanic should know the difference. The second mechanic found my shocks were fine. Ive been driving it around and have taken on a few long road trips since then and everything is great.

At 7:30 am on my way to work my 2015 Camry would not start. The starter would only make a grinding buzzing noise. Bad starter? Bad battery? The battery had given no sign of trouble. The car needed help, I would be late to work, not a good surprise. So I called a tow truck and looked up a local well rated mechanic opting one could take my car that same morning. I called My Mechanic and said I had no appointment but could they look at my car today. Their answer was yes. I left the car and went to work. While at work they diagnosed the battery as bad. A new battery, a 60 point inspection and oil change ready at 5pm the same day. And the AC does not have its usual faint dirty socks smell. A welcome extra that was not on the bill! A good surprise.

They always look at the entire car and do a report card. They list from F to A. An F means very much broken and really needs replacing, to an A, meaning its working perfectly. Then, they call you to explain. Pick the repairs that you can afford, and are the most broken. Car repairs are never cheap, but, its also usually less expensive than replacing your car.

This is by far the best auto shop I have been to. Not only did they service my car in a timely manner but they also advised on what to do next the issue arise.
