This is second time using King Transmission, the first car repaired was a 97 Saturn SL2. Total rebuild of the transmission and it was perfect for several years until we sold it. Recently had a transmission total rebuild on a 2007 Ford Freestar, bought it new in 07 and at 139K miles it failed. King Transmission rebuilt the transmission and it was finished when promised. We were recommended to King Transmission by Marco Auto Repair and we couldntbe happier with the service. They repaired my sons transmission and he has had no issues with it. They are very knowledgeable and fair priced. We are due for our 6 month warranty checkup just to make sure that everything is ok. Pleasant experience! I do most of my own repairs, so this was my first time paying someone to fix my vehicle in about 8 years (I dont really have the time or an organized enough space to do my own transmission rebuild). Of course a transmission rebuild isnt going to be cheap, but the price seemed fair and was in line with the estimate. And the work was completed ahead of time to boot.The owners were polite and took time to explain in detail the work that was done (I was curious about some of the more technical details and their experience with the model of transmission my Ford van has). Seems like they have a lot of experience and are familiar with the best practice upgrades that should theoretically make the transmission more reliable than when it was originally produced.Time will tell if the repair lasts over the long run, but my gut instinct is that these guys know what theyre doing. My trans rebuild included a 12 month 12k miles warranty, so that helped to ease my mind a bit. Thank you!

6 months ago I took my car to have the transmission checked because elsewhere they had told me they were going to charge me $ 2,000 to fix the transmission, so I took it to the King transmission company and saved $ 800 and they did an excellent job. because so far my car has worked perfectly. Everyone at King Transmission was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful when I came to them with Transmission issues with my personal vehicle. They took my car in the next day, worked with my 3rd party warranty company, and gave me a run down on what the problem was as well as a VERY fair priced quote! Would definitely recommend to my friends and family!I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty and brought it in four weeks ago. Due to a major snow storm, the car got stuck in deep snow when I was in front wheel drive (2H) on a small street. I shifted to 4H for additional traction but the car was still stuck. Only after switching to 4L and rocking the car back and forth at a slow speed, I finally managed to get out of the snow.The cars check engine light turned on. The next day I brought the car to my mechanic and he ran a car diagnostic test. He told me the car had transmission issues and that he does not do transmission repairs.After this, the car made noises, couldnt drive over 45 mph, had slippery gears / stalled for a few seconds at a time, and did not respond immediately.When I brought my car to King Transmission Company, Rich, one of the service managers, was extremely helpful.Even though he was busy talking to the mechanic, answering the phone, opening/closing the main door, etc., he found time to explain everything to me regarding replacing the transmission and rebuilding the transfer case. He was very transparent about everything and gave me an accurate estimate (he didnt try to upsell). He charged a much lower price than the dealer had and unlike the other competitors, he gave me a loaner, a 2000 Lexus RX200 Golden for a full week.I also want to thank Javier for finalizing the transaction and paperwork. In one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, I have to come for an inspection/adjustment and a transmission oil change. After this, the warranty will be extended for another 12 months/12,000 miles. The entire job has a warranty of 2 years/24,000 miles!! If anybody has bad luck with a transmission problem, King Transmission Company is going to fix it. My Jeep drives so much better now and has no issues.Thank you for taking such good care of my vehicle, for the quick turn around and for your friendly team!I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs service done on their transmission.

These fellas quite literally saved my life, no BS over exaggeration. As a broke college kid with a single working mom and a father who passed away when I was a teenager the last thing I needed was for my transmission to go. The planetary gears were stripped out and it had to be completely rebuilt. There was no way I could afford this type of massive, expensive, and labor-intensive overhaul. The good folks at King Transmission worked with me and took a personal hit as a couple of the guys volunteered to help out for less their standard pay. I completely emptied my bank account and savings but they built me the finest transmission that has withstood through thick and thin. This happened many years ago but I just sold my car (90,000 miles later) with an excellent transmission running like a champ. I took my car in about a year ago to have the transmission rebuilt. King Transmission was recommended to me by my mechanic, who I have used for 20+ years, so I had some trust going to King, but you always are a little cautious when dealing with a new service provider. Frank and the guys at King were great. The price was fair and reasonable, and they the time to complete the work was within the time they quoted, as was the price. Now, fast forward a year and it gets better. Im getting ready to go on a cross country trip so I take my car to my mechanic for an inspection. He detects a very small leak in the transmission--it had to be very small because there were no oil leaks on my garage floor. It was normal wear and tear you can expect with a car, but nonetheless, I called King and asked if they could take a look. Frank took me in that morning and by 1:30 I was driving my car home, and no charge. Also, while I was waiting, Frank let me use a loaner so I could go get lunch. I cant say enough good things about King Transmission. They are honest, fair and do quality work.

I was recommended by a person that takes a fleet of Vans to kings. I was told they do good work and very reasonable. My friend wasnt joking. I took my Escalade to kings, the customer service was unparalleled. They were confident in there findings. Very reasonable on the price. They understand that money doesnt grow on trees. They helped me out on some labor cost. The transmission was being rebuilt and the rear differential. When I got the Escalade back, it drove so much better. The difference was night and day. The SUV had power like never before. Shift gears smoothly and I never felt so happy about the money I spent for a great repair. I recommend this place. Great honest people

I have a 2009 Buick Enclave brought it in for a driveline noise and transmission acting weird, its an all wheel drive car. I let them know that i just wanted the driveline coupler replaced because that was all I could afford to have done. I had a powertrain warranty on the car but the warranty company(Car Shield) refused to pay for the repairs. Frank said he would call his suppliers and see if they would reduce the price on the parts and they did! he ended up doing the transmission and the driveline coupler for a reduced cost, because he felt bad for me that the warranty company would not pay for the repairs. Who does that? I would not think of going anywhere else for transmission repairs this is the 3rd vehicle that I have brought to them over the course of 20 years and they always do quality work at a reasonable price!

Update to my initial review-So I have to apologise for how much trouble my problem-child of a car turned out to be for the guys at King Transmission, and also, I rate them at a solid TEN OUT OF FIVE STARS! Big, BIG shout-out to Javier; not all heroes wear capes!My car gave them such a hard time; I think they got the transmission in and out a total of 8 times trying to make it work with the aftermarket clutch I had intended to be installed. I even sent the clutch back to the manufacturer to have it inspected, and they found no fault with it. Once I got it back, they installed it again... And it didnt work.I gave up on the clutch I so desperately wanted, and had them order a direct OEM replacement (I should specify, I was intending to have a six-puck performance clutch installed). The OEM replacement... Didnt work... $_+@#&&)!It turns out that it was an issue of spacing, which they solved at the 11th hour, so to speak. And they did it with the clutch I wanted. And because they replaced the clutch hydraulic system, my car feels like it just rolled of of the production line, its that good!If you have transmission work to be done, make the smart choice, and take it to King!*note: I am writing this review BEFORE service is rendered, but will update after my service is performed*I have a big problem: I took on a project that was beyond the scope of my abilities. I tried to change the clutch on my 04 G35 and struggled with the process for two weeks mvi got the clutch changed successfully, but the ******* transmission refused to go back on! I first called them a week ago looking for advice, which they provided, but it was not helping me (the fault is mine, not theirs). I am going to have my car towed there and have them reattach the transmission, but what impressed me most is that they remembered me from earlier, and asked if it went well (I am taking the car to them, so obviously, it did not). I hope to be updating my review soon with a 5th star

The team at King Transmission provided excellent service. They rebuilt 2008 Enclave’s transmission in Feb ‘18, and it runs beautifully. Very professional and competitively priced! They proved that rebuilding a trans can be more cost effective and just as reliable as dropping in a new one!

I had problems with my transmission it wasnt shifting I took to my dealer and they wanted to charge me $5000 for the repair for me that was too much so I brought it to kings transmission and it was half the price now my van is riding smooth I will recommend this shop to all my friends and family.

The service men were quick professional and engaging

This shop is TRASH... went to them once before about my transmission shifting hard and popping out of gear. they test drop it and kept it over night and test drove it again in the morning. They could not replicate the issue. When I drove off their lot it did everything I told them it would do. Take it there again and they tell me it was just a torn boot that was causing the issue. Drive it again and the issue happens YET again. Take your vehicle somewhere else. I use to be a mechanic in the military but they seem to ignore every word I said like it wasnt valid like I was bossing them around last time I checked I paid THEIR bills not the other way around. I want my money back and the work fixed for free at their expense.

Had my transmission rebuilt on my truck. The price was far and had it finished in just a few days. Definitely will be going back for future repairs.

Hated I had to go but love the fact that these guys take care of your vehicle properly.

My wife’s car failed emmesions due to a service engine light. Took it to Autozone and it was a trans related issue. I did my research and it was a list of things. Called Kings and they said bring it in we will test it. They tested and said I needed a new trans. One of the cheapest possibilities on the list according to the codes that pulled when scanned was dirty trans fluid so I changed the fluid. It’s been 2 years and the light is still gone. Kong’s you’re a scam.I’m not done yet, my truck trans wouldn’t reach 4th gear and my service engine went on. Had Autozone scan and it was a solenoid failure. Did my research and could be a few things but solenoid was the main culprit. Took it to Kings and they said leave it and we’ll test. They called and said needed a new trans for $1500. I changed the solenoid that cost $12 and my problem is gone. Twice they tried to scam me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but it’s obvious that this is their style of practice. Don’t go there unless you want a new trans cause it may not be a new trans but that’s what they’re gonna want to tell you .

Did a good job replacing sons car transmission, BUT not impressed with them smoking in the workplace even if it is a garage/repair shop. Went back in to throw away paper car matt they use to protect floor while in shop and the men at the counter were smoking. Didnt appreciate smelling like smoke afterwards.Updating...After my son had his trans repaired, the trans fluid leaked all the way down the street from our house to his friends and all down their driveway. We were heading out of town that weekend, so we called Kings the following day. They sent out a tow truck, repaired it, and it didnt cost us a cent...except the gas to go pick it up. Anyway, I wasnt irate about the situation, just explained what happened and they were very good about taking care of it on their end. So, even though they smoke in the garage, they are a great business that stands behind their work.

I brought my bmw here and these guys are a bunch of crooks . They gave me a worse case price and it only cost me 1000.00 more then the quoted . They lied about having the computer programed at Elmhurst BMW.BMW said the car was never their .its been back for hard shifting and they blamed it on my new car battery.It still leaks and shift like crap .They had a metal garbage can pinched between the wall and my bumber when i went to pick up my car . They were really trying to get me to pay cash insted of credit .I wouldnt use these hacks .
