Honda World in Downey has exceeded my expectations in providing the most abhorrent and worst car maintenance experiences I have ever had.I have been driving a white 2020 Honda Accord since October 2020. It currently has under 2900 as of August 2021, 10 months. The car had multiple defects upon receipt, and figured this was normal since the 2018 Honda Civic I drove also came with defects.I brought the car in for my first maintenance and was directed to Gihan, a Service Advisor. Once providing the key fob to the assisting service rep, I was brought inside and given a quote for about $75+ for the oil change. I let Gihan know about the deal that was agreed upon last year by the Honda dealership I received the car is that the first maintenance is free and every other maintenance afterwards is free. He pulled up a Vin Inquiry Acknowledgment from the Honda database and told me it is not covered under the warranty. After back and forth believing him to be right, I reluctantly agreed to proceed, signed the papers, and left.I called from between 12:30 - 4 PM and was unable to contact any representatives or managers except the receptionist, and Sales Manager. After repeated requests with their receptionist to help me connect with a service rep over the phone, I did not find their customer service at all responsive. I was only being transferred but no recipient answered the phone to assist. My name and contact number was passed to the service manager from the sales manager but I did not receive a call back.About 5:30 PM, I receive a text notifying me the car is done with the maintenance.Here is where this became one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced. I arrive at the dealership intending to pick up the car. I came to pick up and pay for the service done to the car. My service advisor, Gihan, left for the day and one of the other service advisors, Willie Pittman, assisted with this. After back and forth regarding the warranty, he then educates me about his experience working with Honda for 25 years, as well as different warranty programs. He later not only insults me in front of other customers, but insults my integrity in front of my family saying the reason the maintenance light came on is because I am a βRacerβ and continued to push this dialogue. Attached are images of the current tread, and side profile of the car and wheels. If these tires look like 10 months of βracingβ, I do not know what to tell you.As a Honda customer, I am immensely disappointed with the service I had received. This is the most embarrassing and disappointing experiences I have ever had. I am never going to recommend a Honda to anyone ever again. If you are purchasing or leasing a new vehicle, I would not recommend Honda World. One star given because zero is not an option. Thank you.- M
Worst customer experience ever. I brought my car in at the end of June 2021 because the ac went out completely. Had it repaired through warranty, and the install was done incorrectly by βhonda certified technicians.β Essentially all the liquid that drains from the ac was leaking INTO my car, causing it to grow mold and smell.The part was ordered in mid-July 2021; we are now on October 2021, still with no carpet. They are now telling me via email they have inspected it and theres no bacterial growth and that I should come pick up my car.They also didnt know where my car was at one point... Like are you kidding me? So hard to get ahold of service reps and their manager to get updates too.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. The people who work here are clearly overworked and dont have time to take safety seriously.
Im only describing the Downey location about how great the service department is. Ive been going to the same service advisor for 15 years. Her name is Nicole and she is looking out for the customer first and foremost.
Pro: most interesting call youre gonna make to a car dealership. Try it, its really fun. No really, Ive never made a call that is highly informative and yet extremely uninformative in my entire life. Theyre definitely straight forward and honest.Con: The problem is theyre straight forward about adding a $5999 market adjustment to the msrp. I offered a out the door price for a 2022 car and they said 6 months ago theyll give it to me in a heart beat. The market is bad for buyers but not bad enough for me to navigate this bs.Absolutely hilarious. At least there will be a story to tell.
Worst experience ever. Saul the manager promises you a low monthly price just to run your credit only to give you a way higher price. Credit is 780 so interest wasnβt the issue it was the manager just lying and trying to bully into a price they want.
To start, Daniel and the crew really came through! The crew is very respectful and easy to get along with. Daniel made sure to check in with me and made sure I was good! I came in for an oil change and tire rotation as well as inspection, felt completely in their care!Secondly, Help them help you by getting your car serviced when needed this is advice as a customer! Why not get factory grade fluids and parts? That way you dont give yourself and the crew a headache! Get your car serviced regularly so you dont have to go through the hassel. Tried to get a price on a 2021 accord sport and was told they would add $6000 to the msrp price for market adjustment. Reason i gave 3 stars is because at least they were up front about how they do business. There are better honda dealerships
Potential buyer. Staff were inattentive and seemed more occupied with their phones than potential customers. Didnt seem to want to answer any questions about the cars I was interested before I authorized a credit check. The pre qualification I had was dismissed as well. Professional is not the word to use for this place. Look elsewhere
Took my vehicle there ONCE for service and I still, 3 years later, get junk mail from this dealership. I have called (not joking) at least 6 times and asked to be removed from any and all mailers and marketing. Just got another today. They dont even bother to spell my name right either. They all come from Ronnie Williams who appears to be the GSM. I have never even met this person. The one time I did look at their sales end it was a joke too. Absolutely avoid this dealership. Ill be contacting the FTC.

Service is good staff are friendly but I do not like the fact that when you make your appointments and you tell them what is wrong with the car they are quick to try and scare you off by saying well this will be an all day thing unless you want to come back another day ..... I mean if I am setting up an appointment to service my car it needs to get done instead of them trying to persuade me from doing it. The message does not get delivered the way it needs to if time is an issue for them. Other than that everything is good π

He said that was the price and it was his policy if I wanted to buy the car I would have to buy all those unnecessary option . he just turn and walk away. I told him that I just bought a wheels looks for $40.00 at Auto Zone for my Toyota Corolla, and how much a set of mats will cost ? I was looking EVERYWHERE for the 2021 Sonic Grey 2.0 Accord. Car price is $33,500. This dealer had it MARKED UP to $37k. With my trade in of a 2020 Accord Ex with 6,700k miles, offered me $41k out the door. What a joke! Marking up cars a drastic amount is ridiculous. This dealer is robbery. Id rather be on foot.I went to Norm Reeves in West Covina and I walked out with the Sonic Grey 2.0 I wanted for a great price and great monthly payment. Downey Honda is one of the few dealers that can mark up their cars to any amount they want. Dont buy from here.

Avoid This place if your car needs maintenance I made an appointment for an oil change 1:30 minutes later the car still sitting in the parking lot untouched . If you go there with kids be prepared really think about it no vending machines no water uncomfortable waiting area and the worst part is that they most expensive dealership for oil change .. drive a little further to Cerritos or any other dealership around the area is worth the few extra miles drive customer service is horrible they just flat out donβt care they will keep you there all day for an oil change .. took my car without performing the service to West Covina and is a nigh and Day experience ..

My mom was in need of a new car and I contacted Honda World Downey requesting a quote on a 2020 Honda Civic. I currently live out of state and was trying to negotiate a deal via email or phone on behalf of my mom. Carlos Murillo was very helpful and was very responsive. His team went above and beyond to make my moms experience painless and smooth. They were able to pick her up and bring her to the dealership. One of Carlos associates, Nataly, even assisted my mom with the application. I cant thank Honda World enough for their hospitality. It was also my Moms birthday that day and she was able to take her new car home in time to celebrate. Thanks again Carlos and Honda World Downey!

After a terrible and brief experience at El Monte Honda on Sunday 05/27/18 (see my review on their page dated 05/29/18) - my wife and I came to Honda World Downey.Right after we parked we were immediately greeted by a smiling and cheerful Grecia G. who introduced herself to us enthusiastically. I told her that although I wasnt sure if I was ready to buy yet, I was interested in test driving the Clarity PHEV and the Accord. Just 20 minutes earlier, I was told by an associate at El Monte Honda that if I wasnt ready to buy I would not be allowed to test drive any vehicles. Grecia told me that it is not a problem and she just needed to take a copy of my ID in order to test drive the cars. I had no problem with that and within a few minutes we were off to test drive a 2018 Platinum White Pearl Clarity PHEV. After the test drive loop we came back where we proceeded to test drive the 2018 Accord Touring 1.5T. After the back to back test drives, I conferred with my wife and agreed that the Clarity was the vehicle that we would be driving off and it came down to the part that many people might say they hate about dealerships - the negotiation.Grecia sat us down at one of their tables in the showroom, and the game was afoot. We were offered a price for which I requested a better offer. After one trip to the managers office she returned with a slightly better offer to which I once again requested a better offer (but fair considering the price homework I had done prior to walking in). One more trip to the managers office and we agreed upon the price and my down payment stipulation.Next up was Brian P. - one of the resident Product Specialists. He showed us the features and explained the technology of the Clarity PHEV and ensured that I understood all of the features of the vehicle. He gave us his card and asked us that if we had any questions or concerns to call him directly.After the demonstration we waited in the showroom for a few moments while they assigned us to one of their financing managers. Minutes later, Tony N. came over and introduced himself and we sat down with him for the next stage - financing and add-ons. This process went according to expectation and I was not pressured or manipulated into purchasing any additional products or services that I did not want. I did want Hondas 8 year 100k mile extended warranty and Tony and I were quickly able to agree upon a price I was comfortable with.Once financing was completed we were referred back to Grecia for final delivery and after a bit of a logjam at their car wash station, we took final delivery of our keys from Grecia and we were off into the sunset with our new Clarity PHEV.All in all we were at the dealership for a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes - with at least 30 minutes of that time waiting for final delivery (i.e. the whole process took 2 hours 20 minutes) which is relatively quick in the world of dealer purchases. Grecia, Brian, Tony - all were so wonderfully welcoming and knowledgeable and easy to work with that although I didnt get the best deal I could with extended and potentially frustrating lengthy negotiations, I found my deal to be acceptable and continued due to the warm and friendly experience and treatment I received by the staff that assisted me throughout the transaction.I cannot recommend Honda World Downey highly enough to anyone shopping for a new Honda. Great service and experience all around!

I am very disappointed with their service. This is the second time I go to this place and they refuse to change my tire. The first time I went, I told them to please check my tire because the air pressure light on my car kept coming on. They assure me that my tire was fine. Sure enough, the next day my tire is flat and I need to rush over to the local tire shop and pay out of pocket. I called them and told them about this matter and they didnt want to take responsibility. The same thing happened again, I took my car my car and told them I needed to change my tire because I saw a nail. Me being a girl, they decided they can fool me and told me my tire didnt have a nail. I left confused because I was sure I had seen a nail in my tire. Less than a week and I wake up with a flat tire. I repeated the process and went to the local tire shop. And you guessed it, I had a nail inside my tire. I am very disappointed and I doubt I will go to this location again. I am more disappointed that I purchased the extended warranty. Therefore, according to the sales person, it would cover my tires. But it was all BS, because they always had an excuse to why they couldnt change my tire or they would try to charge me so much because I am a girl. Its ridiculous, they should be more concerned about their clients than only look at us as a money sign. I have proof of my tire, but I dont know how to upload a pic. Lol

Bought my first car here 2019. they let me drive the car off the lot with less than minimum engine coolant after literally telling me to bring it back to them if the car had any problems. I still cant get over how sketchy this was and now that I need a tune up this is the last place I would take it. Im going to take it to a REAL honda dealer ( this is honda world not actual honda) and hopefully theyll be more honest and helpful when hooking me up with my car. happy I have a Honda, but not happy this is where I got it from...i have regrets.

The reason we keep coming back is because they always have the friendliest staff to help you choose the car that fits best to your needs. I recently went back to trade-in my 2014 Civic for an Accord. The reason I traded-in was because i needed a car with just a bit more space.The salesman that helped me out was Leslie Paniagua. She walked me through all the different car options available. She helped explain all the features in the vehicle and i automatically fell in love with the Accord Sport. She helped me get the best deal possible. Overall, I am extremely happy with her service skills and my deal. Thank you Leslie Paniagua and all the Honda World of Downey team.
Stopped by this morning to prepay a part I need for my 2013 Accord that the parts department dont have in stock. But to my bewilderment the person in parts wanted my service history on the vehicle prior to proceeding my parts request. Asinine way of selling parts. I left never to return for any reason, and this was a dealer where I purchased the vehicle brand new. How things change.

Customer Service are incompetent and will do little to help you. I have been receiving recalls on my air bag and this man insisted that I donβt have a recall. I had to call again to get another representative from a different dealer.

This dealership is probably one of the biggest liars in The area. My sister came to this dealership to get the 2020 civic ex and said she was willing to pay via cash. She even mention a cash deal requires my sister to put down $2,000 deposit with the remainder as a cashiers check. Well 24 hours pass and they contact my sister to let her know the deal was base on finance and if its a cash the car is more. Talk about a bunch of liars, I hope no one comes and I hope someone from this dealer reads my feedback which I doubt anyone will do.

I recently purchased a Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid from Honda World Downey. As soon as I parked, Leslie offered me a warm welcome. She introduced me to Danny, who was especially knowledgeable about the Clarity. Danny was friendly and straightforward. He gave me all the essential facts about the car and even some fun ones. He was extremely patient and answered all my questions completely. He was honest and transparent throughout the whole process. Danny and Sam, the manager, really worked hard to find the right financing structure that would work for me. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would definitely recommend friends and family to visit here for their Honda needs.

It was my first time at Downey after going to Community/Ocean Honda for 12 years and couldnt be more happier with the change. Juan is the absolute best! He was so easy going and knowledgeable on how to navigate my lease situation with the other dealership. He laid everything out plain, simple and was able to get me into the exact car I wanted! If you want a great experience and drive off feeling amazing with your experience; Juan is the guy to do that.

I was unsure on what car I wanted but Raul helped me find the perfect car for me that best suites my needs and my budget. If youre in the market for a Honda look for Alexis Shin at Downey Honda World. My boyfriend and I have been interested in the Honda Accord Sport for a while now but whenever we would go to dealers we would feel pressure from sales associates and management to make a deal that we werent comfortable with. Fortunately we were lucky enough to find Alexis Shin and Angel De la Cruz. We felt no pressure at all and they worked to get us the deal we wanted. There was definitely no buyers remorse at the end of this deal. Thank you Alexis and Angel for allowing us to drive off in a car that we are completely in love while not breaking the bank!

My experience was not bad until we started to negotiate the sale of the car and I was given a car price with a monthly payment that of course was way to high we started to negotiate and see good results until the Manager arrived and ask βMEβ in a sarcastic way to tell βHIMβ how can they lower the monthly payment, which got me a bit upset. We are there so they can help us make a decision is not my job to tell him what to do I donβt know the statistic of the business. We told them about how much we wanted to pay monthly for the car and they said (the sales man and manager) that they will come back. When sales man came back alone he brought our IDs back and said that the price they were giving us was for a lease and to thank us for coming to they dealer in other word, Get the F*** out of here you are not Worthy. That is how we felt that day like someone slammed that door at our faces.

I LOVE the staff at Honda World Downey!!! Everyone made me feel welcomed and did not pressure me to win the sale! They listened to me and worked with me to find a suitable car within my budget. They were very honest and forthcoming about everything and there were no surprises! They made the whole process easy! I LOVE my 2013 Civic!!!

Made my first stop at Honda, as a first time car buyer, and left with a brand new car thanks to Jorges excellent help. They are excellent at pitching their deals to the customer and are very honest in terms of what you get. Highly recommend it!

Their very nice but it takes a long time
Went in hoping to find a good deal on a lease for my fiance and was able to get just that! I had been to another Honda dealership the day before not entirely convinced and came to this dealership the next day. My salesman, Joseph Martinez, was extremely helpful and patient and allowed me to look at all the options they had. My fiance was specifically looking for a Honda civic hatchback and we left with just that. The inside of the dealership was very clean with water and coffee provided for free. Even after driving off with the vehicle they were easily able to book me for a service appointment to take care of a very minor issue. I would definitely buy another vehicle from this dealership again and would get in contact with Joseph if youre looking to purchase or lease.

Great service plus when you buy a car you get oil changes for 2 years free! Most just give the first oil change for free so thats a great plus!
