Went in for a oil change and they were exceptional! Even offer rides and loaner vehicles if your vehicle needs serviced. Gave me a full diagnostic of my vehicle and went over everything in clear detail, even gave me tips on how to fix the short in my headlight! Very professional and detailed team. Inspected the car top to bottom. Gave us a very nice loaner car while they replaced breaks, fuel injection system maintenance, spark plugs, transmission fluid and filters. Final price was well under quote which was awesome! My 2012 Subaru Outback had a water sloshing sound heard from the driver position somewhere towards the dash or floorboard that no one could resolve. This lead to a series of over heating issues. Honest Wrenches did a thorough job of analysing and figured out bad head gaskets were letting exhaust gasses into the cooling system. They had the heads analyzed, replaced the head, intake and exhaust gaskets. Made sure the cooling system and heater core were flushed and pressure checked. And finally did a drive test and rechecked for any leaks. So far so good. Im quite satisfied with the results..

Very happy with Honest Wrenches! I have an old car Im not looking to put a lot of money into. My muffler and clip to hold it up was rusted out completely. Instead of trying to sell me a new muffler, which the car pry needs, they said they could try and weld down the rust and get it held back up. They did just that. It was an affordable fix, and I know it may not be permanent, but it works for me right now. I will continue to use them and recommend them to anyone for an honest upfront approach to car repair.

It was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had at a automotive place I have been too.. They we’re at the top of their game! They not only came and got my jeep because I had to start work before they were open, then they brought my jeep back to where I work because I wasn’t gonna get off on time. They came in and brought my Keys and the amount that I owed them, and I paid them in cash and then gave them a tip because I was so impressed!!! They did a full scan of my jeep, told me things that were great things, that you should think about, and things that should probably be done now! I have never had that done before. They were just very accommodating had a paper on my side of the driver side on the floor to protect my carpet which is not fancy but it was really cool and then a bottle of water which was just very impressive at the end of long day at work. Top notch!! My Dad was one of the original automotive teachers at DMACC and when I told him how you treated me even HE was impressed!! You will not find a better place then this to get your vehicle looked at. After being told I needed vehicle maintenance done at a different dealer, I took it out to Honest Wrench for a second opinion. Not only did I not need the maintenance, they did not charge me a dime to look at what I was told was an issue. I now take all four of my vehicles out there. Honesty gets you a long ways, that is exactly what these guys are all about. Trust them. You will not be disappointed.

Bought a truck from a family dealership because I believe in supporting local business. Probably my first mistake but it happens. Called around to a bunch of shops. Josh from Honest Wrenches hands down was the best. Took my truck in to get in checked out, they gave me a very detailed report on what needed to be done. They were fair priced and stand behind their work. Josh took all the time in the world to answer all my questions. Josh even took the time to let me call him after business hours to talk. I won’t take my business anywhere else, and if you don’t have a auto shop I highly recommend them.

Took my vehicle in because it was leaking oil. I had read they had a good warranty on their work. Boy was I wrong! $4600 later, I got my car. Within a week, there was still oil leaking. I took it back and they said it was leftover oil from the repair but they put dye in the oil and said to return after 100 miles. Took it back and they look at it, call and give me a $1700 estimate to fix it and tried charging me another $175 for them to look at what they should’ve already fixed. Apparently when you take your vehicle there to get an oil leak fixed, they just fix the first one they see and do not check for any others. On top of that, the rep calls me and says I’m not being reasonable and kept asking me if I was expecting him to rebuild the whole engine in which I said I was just expecting it to not leak oil since that’s the main reason I took it there to get fixed!

These guys are awesome. Was having some issues with my 06 Tiburon and brought it in for a diagnosis, and discovered it was in need of some major repairs. Along with being very prompt and thorough, Josh communicated everything with me and made sure I was always aware of exactly what was being done to my car. The car runs and drives like new. 5 out of 5 stars doesnt do them justice.

They were very understanding and helped fix the major issues while being straightforward and upfront with pricing. They kept it within my budget and also let me pick which services I valued over others. I have kept going there since for routine oil changes and general maintenance. I went out of town to visit in IA on a Friday. On Saturday my Jeep Patriot started over heating. I called the dealership I purchased it from and they sent me to Honest Wrenches. Josh greeted me and helped me through my concerns. He was very professional and informative with the diagnostics. He worked with the dealership and warranty dept and did all he could do for me while stranded in IA. Unfortunately they were not able to fix my Jeep because the dealership had it towed back to SD but I will return to them when in IA if I’m ever in need of repairs again. They are an amazing company!!!! I’ve been to them multiple times and will not go anywhere else!!! Six months or so back, I purchased a used car and it just died!!! No one could figure out what was wrong with it!! They worked hard and found out what was wrong with it, electrical problems, and fixed it!!! I haven’t had issues with it since then! This was my first time to use Honest Wrenches and they were quick to respond to my on-line appointment request. They picked up and returned my car. They were very good about letting me know before pickup and when theyd be returning my car. Received a nice summary of the services and their check of the car along with a very professional call explaining it. The only suggestion Id have on this is to maybe send a hard copy of this in the car upon delivery. I tried to print it later and couldnt connect to do that. I was also able to pay on-line so in this time of Covid, I was able to get the entire service without any contact. I will be using them again.

After calling local dealership mechanic to get my vehicle checked and not appreciating the customer service and how soon I could get in and that was just to read the codes, I researched other mechanics and gave Honest Wrenches a call based on the reviews. They were polite and got me in the same day and were even able to get me a loaner, which the dealership couldnt guarantee having one.Sadly, my vehicle needed a lot of repairs done but they were open and honest with me about the needs and the costs so I could make the best decision for me and were willing to allow me to keep the loaner vehicle longer until I could consult with my dad when he got off work, as he is also as mechanic. They didnt pressure me into the repairs and respected the decision I made. They do a good job of explaining the whys mechanics.

The entire team at Homest Wrenches took the time to make sure the needs for my vehicle were addressed. There wasn’t any pressure to do work on any of the issues, but would point out what needs were immediate for safety and what was something to keep an eye on. Brought my truck in for a couple decent/major issues, a few minor ones, and they gave a detailed explanation of everything that was wrong. There was absolutely NO PRESSURE to fix anything I didn’t want to and I paid exactly what I was quoted. My truck hasn’t ran this smooth in a long time. I won’t take my truck to anyone except the Honest Wrenches crew. 10/10, would recommend.

Well I have to say...this place has a customer for life in me. I wanted to drop my work truck off at their West Des Moines location but it wasn’t open for business yet. They offered to come pick my vehicle up from our main office in WDSM and although there was a bit of miscommunication - they went above and beyond to pick my vehicle up, inspect and do the oil change and drop it back off - all in an afternoon. It was great and I can’t wait for their WDSM location to open. I’ll be bringing my work vehicle and personal vehicle there from now on. Good job y’all!

I went in for an oil change and got a lot more service than I expected. They seem very honest and genuine with their services and prices.I would recommend anyone to stop in once for a first impression. I will be returning for more work on my vehicle.

NOT HONEST... The mechanic at this place told me it would cost between $2,600 and $3,000 to replace my rack and pinion. He said theyd want to replace the pump and fluid as well. My vehicle has electric power steering, so there is no pump or fluid to replace. Cost at other local shops was $1600 to $2100. I recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Overall, I was very displeased with Honest Wrenches pricing. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and it was inspected. There were 16 issues they brought up, mostly just regular maintenance but not all. They quoted me just above $5,000. When I pressed them on how they do pricing, they said they average all of the area prices and charge that amount. I called another shop someone recommended and brought in Honest Wrenches nifty inspection report (which was nice) to them and we decided to do 15 of the 16 items (all except Fuel Induction Service, around ~200) and paid under $2,500 for all parts and labor which includes warranty. This competitor has 50+ reviews and the same rating as Honest Wrenches.I assumed they were higher priced because they offer free pickup/drop off and spend tons on marketing and coupons, but wow - its incredible when a place can charge almost double competitors and get away with it. If you like pickup/drop off service, a friendly marketing appearance, in-depth inspection reports and SKY HIGH PRICING, this place is for you. I dont doubt they do good work, just the insane pricing makes it hard to argue they are honest.

They have free loaner vehicles and shuttle service to pick up/drop off car at work/home which is very convenient. Great service, thorough inspection, and excellent communication with the customer.

Worked on my Jetta, replacing MAP sensor, and the PCV. Slight delay on parts, understandable, used genuine VW parts to replace. Kept in contact the whole time, informing me when parts arrived to when it was done!Bonus is having the 5 year warranty! Ive had this problem before on the jetta and been repaired elsewhere.

I was recommended to Honest Wrenches to get my headlight fixed. I called them and the next day they picked up my car for me, traced the problem and fixed it, gave me a detailed inspection list and offered to complete any other services for me, and had my car back to my house in 7 hours. Throughout this time they gave me multiple updates, provided a pay link, and were very kind and pleasant. This was by far my best experience with an automotive shop. You cannot beat the convenience and quality of service.

Honest Wrenches sent me a flyer with a very good offer for an oil change. They honored the discounted price and also did a complete check of my vehicle at no additional expense. They provide an email with the evaluation of the vehicle that includes pictures of the various items checked by them. They provide a graded list of suggested repairs and call you with the price to do the recommended work. I passed on the repairs suggested and they didnt pressure me to do them. I did have a dirty air filter replaced. Overall a very good experience and would not hesitate to use them again.

These guys are the best! They dropped off a loaner car, picked up my truck, and did a thorough look through. They found issues that other mechanics missed, and looked at literally everything from the front bumper to the rear bumper. Needless to say, I was stunned, and VERY impressed! They also took pictures to prove that something needed to be fixed, and they didn’t pressure me into making a repair that I didn’t want. I asked them to fix all the oil leaks in my truck, and to do a wheel alignment. They kept me posted on every step of their progress. They picked my truck up on Monday, and called me Friday saying my truck was nearly done, and that they had a guy staying late to get it done. Sean told me he would also be willing to hang out while I got an issue resolved at the bank. This REALLY meant the world to me! I wasn’t able to get my bank issue solved, so I told him I’d pick it up Monday. I also told him I wanted to pay with 2 cards, so he gave me 2 separate bills. I stopped in on Monday and dropped off the loaner car. They sanitized my vehicle, and pulled it around. I would recommend this shop to absolutely anyone! Still on the fence? They have a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty, and they gave me the loaner car for free! The only thing they ask is to gas it up before it is returned. Easy enough right? Great customer service! Josh takes the time to explain everything to you, answer any and all questions, and even continued to check in with me well after my vehicle was finished and back to me. You could find somewhere cheaper but with the free rental car, financing options, 5 year warranty, and awesome communication and customer service it is so so worth it. I just moved here and was worried about finding a new mechanic, but I wont be taking my vehicle anywhere else!
