Had an oil change, they were quick, attentive, and informative of any issues I may have had with my car. There was a bulb burnt out they originally quoted for 60 because it wasn’t a quick fix. They decided to throw this in for me. I had some missing valve caps they gave to me as well. Friendly nice guys. Thanks to Josh up front and Josh the technician.

Highly recommend; without hesitation! After a collision, I had my car towed to Midas. Josh and Adam were very responsive and called me with all details and insurance updates, even before insurance called me. They did very thorough work and took great care of my car and answered all my questions. I will now be back for my normal car maintenance because of their work ethic and quality of work.

This Midas is a great place to get your vehicle serviced.I had an alignment performed in June 2021, which was a good experience. I called to find out prices, which Rich (Stores General Manager), made sure I knew they had a coupon for the alignment and could get me in that morning.When I got there, he was fast to check me in, got my vehicle in right away, and double checked his mechanics work to ensure the degrees were correct on the alignment so I didnt have too much or too little tow, camber, or caster.5 stars from me.

Just had a servicing done couldn’t ask for any more of friendlier workers. They answered all of my questions and they are very affordable. I recommend them to anyone and will definitely be back

Been there for a tire repair on a new car, replaced one tire with a different thread (compared to other three) without letting me know that its a different tire and started arguing its the same tire. After sometime he started saying thats the closest match we have and need to wait 5 days if you need the exact same tire. I have to live with it as I was going out of town that day I need my car back badly, nightmare experience, been close to a month and still couldnt sleep over it.

I walked in for a last minute service for a tire patch. I needed my car to get to Coralville for a wedding today and they got me in! The gentlemen who worked with me were polite, prompt and honest. They were awesome! Definitely recommend.

Had to wait way longer then needed too be in the first place. Car smelt like something was burning popped the hood and can’t even put the cap on. Pretty pathetic. If car would have blown up woulda sent you bill.

Just picked my car up today. My car desperately needed brake work done, something I put off because bc of finances. I also am someone who always had family do work on her car so I was nervous going in. I’m feel confident in their work now, and that they were honest with me from the get go. I really appreciate it, I feel as they did not overcharge me and I will be back in the future. Josh was very kind in explaining what needed to be done and why!

Over the years, great service and straight shooters. Disappointed recently with $300 to put in a new battery. We have two of the same car and had the other one done for $170 a month ago in northern Wisconsin. Made me wonder about the pricing.

I had a terrible experience with this midas. First of all you WILL GET RIPPED OFF IF YOU GO HERE, so my experience was my car needed a coil spring replacement, brake change and caliper change. Josh was the one who ripped me off, so my car was there for 2 hours exactly, and I was charged 665$ for 2 hours of labor! When I complained about it he said it was already done and he worked super fast to get it done by close time??? When I asked further questions he said I cant get the car without paying no matter what I say. So I was very pissed and went home and just got shocked. All the things he did is 400-500 $ with labor in any other mechanic, and what I paid was 1464.97$. On top of that, charged me 239.99 for rotor matching I dont know whatever that is ? Looked online and theres no such a thing like that and I paid 240$ that and my calipers didn’t get changed and rotors are exactly same didnt get cleaned and still full of rust. Also, my car is steering to left after paying 1500$. Total rip off. When I walked in to pay the other mechanics were laughing at me sarcastically like how I got ripped off. I have the evidence of how many hours was it there, all phone talks, before and after photos of my car. If The owner or whoever doesnt get this fixed soon, I will sue this midas at ingersoll ave.

They are always great at getting you right in and out. Very trustworthy and great to work with.

This Midas seems to be a little bit better than the other ones whatever the your car is on the Lyft in the air they let you look under it they kind of walk through everything with you when doing a used car inspection and let you actually come out to the vehicle and show you what the main problems are instead of just drawing up paperwork saying what the price of items are to be fixed. They have fast check-in times and decent mechanics it seems.

Complete rip off. My coworker broke down and brought his truck there to have it looked at and they wanted to charge him $3,000. No doubt it was because were all from out of state! We went there after work and had it back on the road in 1 hour and it cost him $40!! Dont trust the midas touch, unless you like being violated!!

Took my newer car in for an oil change, and I gave into a transmission flush as well at their recommendation. There was an odor emitting from my car for over a week later after. I let it go thinking it was just spilled transmission fluid burning off. It didnt go away so took it back in to get checked. They said everything was fine, and that it was probably just the spilled fluid. Went on a few hour long trips after that, and my car kept over heating. Id stop for 15-20 min to let it cool down. Made me late for a wedding one trip as I stopped 3x. Took it to Freedom Tire where they told me the transmission fluid was way too overfilled. Got charged for their labor and who know what kind of damage to my transmission there is now. Went to Midas for years, and havent been back since. Waste of time and money!

We have used Midas for nearly 26 years now and they have always taken good care of our cars. I know there are varying opinions about chain car care places some good, some horrifying. I know this manager personally and I trust the work being done on my wife’s car. On the rare occasions when I’ve had a concern, this place has responded positively.

Fixed what needed to be fixed, and it was quick. Edit : A/C not functioning again a week later, so that was a waste. No sign of COVID-19 safety measures anywhere, even in the customer waiting area. No masks, shield at the checkout, hand sanitizer, social distancing guidelines— nothing. Yikes, no thanks.

Josh and his crew always do an AMAZING job and provide top-notch customer service! They always go out of their way to make sure I am taken care of and can often times get me on the schedule the same day! Best place in town and lucky to have it close by!

I work within walking distance, so I think Ive been getting all my service done here for over 10 years. My clutch had been stiffening up for about 2 weeks and then a few days ago started screeching like a banshee. They were able to get me fixed up in good time and now the 2000 Mustang drives like its brand new.

I went here for an oil change and asked them to also investigate the check engine light and check the tires. They changed the oil, and put air in the tires, but when I picked up the car the check engine light was still on. The next day, my car overheated and died on the side of the road. Took it back to the same Midas, and they told me the timing belt had snapped and the engine was ruined, so my car was basically done unless I wanted to pay $7,000 for a used engine. I dont know if it was something they should have caught when I asked them to check out the engine light, but it doesnt really look good that they were the last ones to look at it, and 24 hours later, a belt snapped and ruined the engine.

I honestly wish I did not have to give them a rating at all and just leave the Stars blank. I went to Midas for an oil change and it was the worst mistake I could have made in my entire life. An hour after I left from my oil change my engine seized and my whole car started to shake uncontrollably and acted like as if it was going to shut off. I had my mechanic come by and look at it and he stated that there was no oil in the car and that the oil pan is loose. He topped it off with oil and try to start it and let it sit for a while and then try to start it again and the same problem persisted. He stated that I needed to call Midas and when I called Midas Midas told me to bring the car back in to check to see if they had done something wrong. I went to Midas and stuff for 30 minutes before they told me to come in and check that they had did everything right and there was nothing that they had did. The guy then had me go back in the waiting room and sit for another additional 20 minutes and then came and said that he would give me a ride home and if you would leave the car there to for them to fix it as if it sounded as if there was a piston through the engine. I have panic attacks and could not understand how I just took my car too Car X and everything was diagnosed fine except my tires. Their insurance company said tough luck if you cant prove it through a certified mechanic place. Worst business ever done. Im going to hire a lawyer and get my vehicle engine appraise.

Josh was Great! I feel they do only what needs to be done. I told him my car was wondering a little. He said an alignment was $90 but would look at. He looked at and found 3 of 4 tires out of balance and no alignment needed. Most other businesses would have aligned just for my money. I appreciate the Midas honesty I get from this store and will be back. Thank you Josh!

Very professional with the highest standards. When they couldnt properly diagnose the problem, they suggested taking the car to a dealership rather than try (and pay for) something that might not work. I highly recommend taking your vehicle to this downtown Des Moines location.

I went to them throughout my 6 years in college and they took such good care of my car! Always honest about what needed to be fixed immediately and what I (a broke college student) could put off until later. I was able to get an appointment quickly and they were so efficient in getting me in and out quickly! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good mechanic!

They went out of their way to help resolve issues that werent resolved in spite of at least 3 or 4 visits and thousands of dollars spent at a different location. Josh was wonderful and helpful and I really felt he cared about making sure my daughter had a safe running vehicle. I recommend them highly!

To all women: be very careful with this place! They will try to take advantage of your wallet. Example, I had an estimate for replacing 2 ball joints which should be roughly 300-400 and they wanted to charge me 1200 to do so. 800$ for labor charges. Please please just be careful if you decide to go there!

Ive used this Midas since 2010 for oil changes, tire replacement, brake pad replacement, and diagnostics across 3 vehicles. Theyve never steered me wrong, theyve always done everything quickly, and everyone has a fantastic attitude. I cant recommend this place highly enough.

I have been coming to this Midas since I moved from DC over a year ago. I have had my oil changed, bought new tires and break pads. The guys are friendly and do good work. I have never felt that they are trying to rip me off because I am a woman.

Went to the one on ingersoll. For them to diagnose why my truck would not start witch I was told was $100. It ended up being the ignition switch . Part cost less then a $100 . New battery $100. So with that stuff and for them to put the new ignition switch in and hook up 3 wires to the fuel pump witch had easy access. They charged me over $800 . After I payed I called about 9 different shops witch 2 of them were midas at different locations and I was quoted less than $500 for the exact same things . So needless to say me and my family and the company I work for will not ever use midas again.

Went for an oil change and had success. They even took me to the shop floor and showed me future problems I might have and printed up an estimate price sheet for the parts and labor. The prices seemed fair, but I will do my own comparison research before I choose to have Midas fix it. Overall a very genuine experience. The manager Rich was very helpful.

I was in Des Moines on business, and realized at the hotel that I had suspect tire. Seemed dangerous to drive on, so I randomly brought my car to this location. Nolan, my service representative, was helpful, knowledgeable and was able to get me back on the road in less time and money than I had thought. Would recommend

Went for a tune up and oil change, which took over 2 hours to do simple these simple tasks. When they finally brought my car down, I noticed the front cover hanging. Before I entered my car, I went back into the office to find out why since it wasnt that way when I brought it in. They found one of the clips broken off. They chose to just zip tie the cover together. It wouldve been nice if they had actually not broken it to begin with, but to only zip tie it with no offer to repair it properly? Ill not be going back to this place again. This is second time Ive had to point out things they did incorrectly on my vehicle. Im going elsewhere from here on out.

On our way out of town and our brakes needed replaced quickly . they got us in right away and did everything they could to save us money and time. Customer service is top notch! Thank you for a great experience .

Maybe its not fair that these guys get the brunt of my opinion but someone has to. I like Midas because they do a check on lots of general maintenance issues. They do cost $6-$10 more for my oil change but I appreciate the extra service. I travel 30-50 thousand miles a year so Im frequently there. But what drives me nuts is when I ask specific questions I always get generic answers. I understand theyre trying to upsell but just answer THE QUESTION.

Pleasant staff, great service. Just remember, anytime you go anywhere to get anything done where the tires are taken off the vehicle, go back and get the lugnuts re torqued! They may not tell you to do it but if you dont you run the risk of the entire wheel coming off as you drive and not everyone is lucky enough to come away from that unharmed and with an easy fix possible like me.

I went in for an oil change and just a routine inspection. Once the vehicle was serviced (just for an oil change) the manager, Josh informed me that I need a battery replacement. I declined. The next day, my car wouldn’t start. I have not had issues with my battery. Josh sent out a representative from Midas to jump start my car. When the representative showed up and opened the hood he said, “That is weird the battery is loose.” He started the car and left. The car turned off and I could no longer turn it back on. I called a towing service who came out and informed me that the battery had been completely loose for some apparent reason. He tightened the connecting parts and my vehicle turned on instantly. I took it to another shop to have it looked at who informed me a screw had been placed between the connecting part of the battery and the battery itself. I called the store to ask and Josh kept denying. Apparently in a day, my vehicles battery had loosened on its own and a a screw was placed between the connecting part and the battery.This type of behavior and fraud is not acceptable by anyone. I will be reporting to corporate and the Better Buisness Bureau.

Ive come here for a few odds and ends, but most recently was here for an oil change. The evening after I had picked up the car, there was an issue with the undercar shield dragging - I dont know if it was something that was already wrong with the car or if something happened at Midas to make it happen, but regardless I reached out to the team at Midas to seek a resolution. I had called right before they closed and they asked me to drop it off so they could look at it - they mustve fixed it first thing because the car was ready to go by 9:00 the next morning. They also didnt charge me anything to look at the problem and to fix it. I like to think that a business is as great as the people to run it and these guys took control of a situation and resolved it above my expectations. Add to the fact that every time Ive been in there, they are always nice, honest, and extremely professional. Id definitely recommend this location to anyone.

I have been going to Midas Ingersoll to Moines Iowa for the last two years josh is the driving force of that business his technicians are very experienced and familiar with many different automobiles issues his staff has always treated me with kindness respect and courtesy their staff is very knowledgeable and highly trained to fix my car or anybody else’s car I am impressed of how he treats his workers is the same as he treats his customers I would recommend anybody who needs service for their carGive them the opportunity to service your needs

Ive had a couple different vehicles serviced by Josh and the crew several times, and its always been great. Things have been done correctly, on time, and for a fair price.

These guys are the best! They speak to me like a person and only suggest the needed repairs. They are the only shop I will use.

Had a 9:15 appointment. Car didn’t get looked at until about 12:30. What’s the point of making an appointment if they aren’t going honor the time? Pricing on brake pads, rotors and one caliper is about twice as much as other shops quote. Not recommended.

I called made an appointment they worked me in and were very great. They knew what they were talking about and went above and beyond to help me and everyone that came in while I waited.

I asked them to change the oil, replace a fuse, and replace two bulbs on my passenger side head light. I dropped it off at 10am and I didnt get it back until 2:30pm. They called me by 2:30 and told me that they had to pull the bumper out, then the head light assembly, in order to get behind the head light assembly. They quoted me 160 in labor and 40-60 per bulb. Of course, I said no and went to pick up my car. As I was going to leave, I found the fuse box cover was laying on my seat. I made the guy put my fuse box cover back on. As he was doing this, he door dings the car next to me. The other poor saps car was scraped up anyways.I left and found all my warning lights on the dashboard were on. I went back and they had to mess with the fuse box. I went to the auto parts store to do the head light bulbs myself. As I open up my hood, I noticed there were screws missing around the head light assembly. They started to take it apart and I guess they didnt want to waste their time with it, so they quit the job and didnt put the screws back in. The Midas touch was so sloppy, that I wont be coming back here again. I wonder what time they even started working on my car.

Pleasant staff with shuttle service offerings (I think?). These guys get the job done and never suggest a need for repair unless the car needs it, I like that kind of courtesy in a car maintenance shop.

Horrible service. I called around 11am to see if I could get an oil change. Steve told me to bring it in around 1pm & Id be good to go. I asked to make an appointment to not lose my spot & he wouldnt take it saying it wasnt necessary. I took off work and cleared my time. Get in at 125pm and am told they are all booked for the day but could do tomorrow. Im a busy guy & dont have time tomorrow. Will be taking my business elsewhere and suggest you do too.
