Gold Key Auto employees Evan and Claudia really came through for me. I was in one of those need a car now emergencies and they made it happen. My other half and I were at a slight disagreement as to which vehicle but they were great about helping pick just the right one to meet our needs. AJ was also great to work with for finding me the best financing.

If 0 stars was an option if drop that so hard. Had to wait an hour just for the salesman to get a dealer plate for a test drive. When I stated why I didnt want the vehicle the asshat just continued bumbling on about what they have done for the vehicle and why itd be a great buy. Not really sure how hearing all the mechanical issues a vehicle had/has is a good sales pitch but it definitely did the opposite of what he wanted. Come to find out EVERY vehicle they have has had extensive work. And odds are from what others have told me the vehicle wont even make it 48 hrs without needing some sort of repair, regardless of how new or old the vehicle is. Dont go to them no matter what!

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Car started having issues within hours of buying it and they referred us to their mechanic to have it repaired. Mechanic never answered or called back, then the salesmen started ignoring us when we expressed concern with not being able to drive the car we literally just bought and when we dropped the car back off they refused to refund us our money and end the contract. Never thought Id be excited to go to court but we look forward to taking these guys down! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! YOULL RISK PAYING 5 TIMES THE WORTH OF THE CAR FOR IT TO NOT EVEN RUN!

Did not hold up to promised repairs. Contract said engine and drivetrain were covered but when my water pump went out they said thats not part of the engine. Same with fuel pump. Was not covered. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND.

My son-in-law got a vehicle from them and had the water pump go out. They claimed thats not part of the engine work that they cover and theyre fully expecting him to keep up with his payments for this hunk of junk! When I reviewed his contract it only stated that gaskets werent covered in the engine work, and when this was brought to their attention they claimed that wasnt the contract that my son-in-law had signed. What they didnt realize is he was recording the whole exchange and even recorded them going over the contract, which the salesman even stated that part as he read over it. Wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy.

They will straight charge you at least $12k for a car that is only worth $2k. And that vehicle WILL NOT last more than a day. They claim to have a mechanic on call as well but everyone Ive talked to said you cant even get in touch with him. Save your time and your money and go somewhere like ziegler. At least then youre not being over charged for an absolute POS.

So... twice Ive called to test drive a specific vehicle within a week only to find out that it wasnt there due to employees actually driving the inventory vehicles home... adding mileage, wear and tear. They seem to think nothing is wrong with this and casually shared this information with me over the phone on both occasions! The vehicle is already overpriced and I was willing to still at least check it out due to it being specifically what Im looking for.

Havent even had the car a week and Im already having to put money into it. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that actually cares about providing reliable transportation. I am reporting them to the BBB and seeing lawsuit options as they sold me a car with a tire that had a screw imbedded into it and had been patched numerous times. I was unaware and if I had a blow out it could have been dangerous. Their excuse was This is as is, YOU bought the car, its not our problem. They also failed to offer me the warranty papers through my lender, so I was denied gap insurance. Terrible cars. terrible customer service. Dont give these sleezebags a penny.

In this world today there is so much negativity that can be said, but I choose today to highlight the good & the bad.When I first came to the Quad Cities last fall, my car was involved in an accident on the way up here. Pretty much it was totalled, but I didnt get a lot of help with the insurance company in this matter. Anyway fast forward, by me being new here and that loan still being on my credit I couldnt get another car anywhere, but Gold Key gave me a chance. Between Evan, AJ, and Chase it was great!Unfortunately, this past weekend due to a slight misunderstanding, and/or communication after being sick with Covid, they came and took the car cause I fell behind.Thats ok, things happen, and well, make a long story short, after going up there to talk to them Ms.Megan, dealt with me very gently, humble and patient, and kind. At first one of the agents was telling me and my friend one thing, but anyway, I asked to speak with Chase and yes he was very, very busy after the weekend & personally he couldnt come out to speak with me.I asked them to please renegotiate the terms so that I can get my car back and as a customer it is a good practice for the manager and/or GM to speak with us, but Megan went back to speak with him, to see what they can do, and he did just that, renegotiated a way for me to get my car back! It was a HUGE Blessing! I know that he has a lot of customers and business to deal with, but he took care of me and I was able to drive my car home. They even worked out a special situation for me to make my next payment where it will help as I get readjusted to going back to work.Thank you Megan and Thank you Chase for working with me, cause I was very very sad, and need a car to get back & forth. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. They will not stop calling me insisting that I am someone else and will not take no for an answer. And then when explaining I am not who they think I am and that I do not owe them money, the lady, I believe her name is Peggy, hung up on me three times. Then CONTINUED to harass me. Do not buy from Gold Key, they have POS workers.

UPDATE: The new VIP Manager, Justin, got my car into another shop to get inspected and repaired within a day of me getting in touch with him. Thank you so much Gold Key for making this right by me! Now THAT is what you call Customer Service!! :)_______________________________________________________________________After my original vehicle was stolen by some punk kids outside my daughters daycare in Rock Island and my credit was not good at the time, as Im a single mother of 3 with no financial support and barely making ends meet, Gold Key was literally the only place that would get me into a vehicle. At the time, I was extremely desperate as I needed a vehicle to get me to and from work and my kids to school and they knew the whole situation and took total advantage of me!I was told by Brett that I could have the vehicle inspected by my own mechanic, which I did and I came back with a whole list of problems! They only gave me a 3 day grace period of exchanging the vehicle and since I went there on a Saturday and my mechanic was not open until Monday but couldnt get me in until Tuesday, I was unable to exchange it, so they were supposed to fix these problems at their shop on 4th St in Davenport. I literally had to call multiple times for the next several weeks to get my vehicle into their shop. Unbeknownst to me, they did not fix everything that was on the list like they said they would, just picked and chose what they wanted to fix.I was also told by Brett that should I have any further mechanical issues to let them know and they could help me get it fixed. Since about 2 months after purchasing the vehicle, I have had numerous issues and called a few times to seek assistance, but was denied. I am faithful with the routine maintenance of any vehicle I drive, but these issues were clearly from negligence of previous owner(s).I was also told by Brett when I bought the vehicle that after 1 year of making payments on time, I could upgrade into a nicer vehicle. (Obviously they knew this vehicle had problems!) I emailed Brett about a month before my anniversary date to see about the process of upgrading. I have made EVERY SINGLE payment on time twice a month for the entire year as it automatically came out of my account to receive a $5 credit per payment. He again went back on his word and now his story is I have to have the vehicle for 2-2.5 years before I would be eligible for an upgrade (again not what he told me). This vehicle will not make it another year! It has built up oil/oil leak in 2 places (they were supposed to fix), suspension issues (they partially fixed), hesitation/almost like it slips into gear sometimes (that they were informed, but told me it was normal) and it also has an antifreeze leak so I have to pour a bottle in it once a month.I have emailed Brett twice in the last month and he has failed to respond to me. I have been nothing but patient and polite with these people and get ignored because clearly they knew this vehicle was a lemon but they dont want to deal with it. Its very unprofessional in my opinion that you cant even have the decency to respond to me after I call you out on your lies. I am completely and utterly disgusted with their customer service!!! I would not suggest or recommend this dealership to anyone ever in this lifetime, no matter how desperate you are. This place scams people especially those in less fortunate circumstances and they do not care!! At first, I was so excited and relieved when they got me into a vehicle, but they have failed to keep their word on many occasions...its completely ridiculous!!! This is not how you treat your customers!!!

I am trying to sell a property and it is currently being shown by a realtor. Today I checked on the property and it has a large, EXTREMELY sticky sticker on it from Gold Key Auto. I called to ask why they would do this and they explained that they “must have stickered the wrong property.” I will now be spending an hour going to hardware store, purchasing goo gone and a scraper to remove this sticker.

Would not recommend the service here. Waited 30 mins just to have them take the plates of the car. Brought our car in for a trade-in that had a full tank of gas, the car we bought was on E, and they only gave us a $10 Kwik Star card for the vehicle...

Very horrible costumer service I still have yet to get a refund my car is missing a break fluid cap I’ve been calling never received a call back about anything the car wasn’t detailed when I got it it was in horrible condition on the inside my miles changed out of no where I would have been better off taking my services some place else but it won’t be long that I have this Camry 2014 I’m definitely giving it back and I will never get a car from gold key ever again I should have listened literally everyone told me not to go to this place I’m so disappointed I wish I would have kept my car 😥

I dont even give this 1 star!! First of all my experience was very awful and they have very bad customer service, even the main manager. Chase was very disrespectful and basically told me I have to pay for a crappy car and their not going to fix it because he has no time and is very tired. I told them Ive had my car for at least 6 months and they still owe me work done on my cat and I have been very patient. Im not allowed to fix my own vehicle but yet they dont want to fix it either. Chase even said they his boss wont hire more people because they dont have enough money for that and all the cars on the lot have something wrong and need work. He said so many people are cailing and hes doing the best he can. So tells u there they sell crap cars and they have no time to fix them so u have to deal with the problems. Chase acted like a fool I couldnt believe his solution and words of choice he was using. Very Un manager like and very bad looking for business. I dropped my car off and said screw them. Im not gonna pay that much for a car that does me no good. Goldkey I dont even give u 1 star.... u should hire Joe back!!
