This bakery lives up to its hype. There are fancy desserts, pastries, coffee and a small retail section. The most popular item are the macaroons. There are many flavors like pistachio, lemon, Carmel, etc. The fancy desserts are like things you would get in a 5 star restaurant - many with gold flakes (pictured is a chocolate bomb which was amazing). You can buy the small version for like $7 or the big version for more. The drinks from the cafe are also very fancy. I’m usually not a latte person but I am obsessed with the chocolate latte - its a special French chocolate you wouldn’t find at starbucks.Pistacia Vera is on 3rd ave in German village and a short walk from the famous Book Loft, other shops and restaurants. It’s walkable to Schmidt’s and Schiller park as well.
It was hard to choose, everything looks so beautiful. The staff is friendly, helpful and so patient with all my questions. We got a few macarons, also lemon tart and chocolate bombe, all so delicious. The quality of these pastries are amazing!! We wanted to get the chocolate croissant but it was already sold out at 1pm. Dine in is not open yet so we got them to go. Schiller Park is only a few minutes walk from the pastry shop, a perfect picnic place with beautiful view, lots of shade, many tables/chairs.
Ive been a huge fan of Pistacia Vera since... well since the first time I tried them at the North Market years ago. While Ive only been to this location a few times, I was close by recently and couldnt help but stop for a coffee and some green treats (just in time for St. Patricks Day). While it was my first visit since COVID, it was just as splendid as ever, even without the hustle and bustle of happy patrons sipping and munching on decadent treats. Im so glad I made the trip, even days later Im smiling over it.Health and safety measures were definitely in place, the staff was friendly and cheery, and my coffee was spot on (almond milk vanilla latte). I saved my macarons (pistachio and a seasonal one with baileys) and a pistachio and chocolate flourless torte for later. Their macarons are my favorite in Columbus so in my opinion you cant go wrong with any flavor you get. As for the flourless torte, I didnt know what to expect but was trying to stay away from gluten. I saved it for dessert and loved every bite. It was chewie like a brownie and the different layers really worked well together.Ill definitely be stopping by more often and cant wait for a special occasion to pop up. A friend recently recommended getting a large chocolate bombe for birthdays and I loved the idea. Bravo to Pistacia Vera for consistently spreading a smile across my face. Until next time!
The best pastries and desserts in town. My favorite is the eclair. Be sure to try their man flavors of macaroons.
The highlight of our Columbus trip. I was awed and amazed at the selection of pastries and baked goods. My stomach immediately wanted one of everything, so containing the excitement was hard. It didn’t stop me from making a second purchase while waiting for our coffee. We got a variety of macarons, the smoked salmon sandwich, orange brioche, madeleines and lemon tart. The perfect construction of the sandwich alone sold me. Such perfect bread with crisp veggies!! The lemon tart was luscious. The macarons disappeared so quickly, couldn’t get a picture. For drinks, we got a cortado, cold brew, and the white peach matcha. The matcha intrigued me, but oh. My. Goodness. Was it so gosh damn delicious.I wish I had found this place day one, but also thank goodness I didn’t, as my food budget would have been depleted so fast!Oh, everyone who works there has the nicest calmest voice and mannerism. I loved every minute talking to everyone.
I had such a wonderful experience here. I stopped by on a Monday morning as the last of of our road trip before we headed home to Virginia. This is such a cute bakery with tempting pastries and goodies on display. The staff here are soooo nice and accommodating. Their service is friendly and prompt. I ordered a dozen macarons, kouign amann, and a raspberry tart. The tart was delicious and well balanced. The kouign amann was flaky, crisp, and lightly sweet. The macarons were all so good, but my favorite was the jasmine honey. I highly recommend stopping by here. If Im ever in Columbus again, Id come back to try some of their other goodies.
We recently ordered mini-desserts for 200 (for our daughters wedding). They were simply amazing. When we opened the table to the guests, the room fell silent in patches, interspersed with yummy sounds. Really. Our guests were blown away. Really excellent. Thanks for making our affair extra memorable!
Pistacia Vera has some of the best pastries and coffee in town. The staff is incredibly professional and welcoming, and the vibe has a sense of high-end class. However, Pistacia Veras location in a very small historic building causes it to fall short in terms of physical accessibility. The internal space leaves little space to maneuver a wheelchair and while there is a ramp entrance to the side of the building, the door lacks a handicap button and is most easily opened by the customers feet or with help from an employee.
My new favorite morning spot - coffee is delicious and the macarons are absolutely incredible.
Had a great visit, they have very welcoming and friendly staff members which is a plus, I ordered two macarons $2 each and a lemon tart which was around $6. Sweets can get a little pricey but Id say this is fairly average so if youre wanting multiple macaroons it will add up quick. I also order a peach matcha drink and they offer diffrent milk options for the teas and lattes (oat, almond, ect) which is nice if if your vegan or lactose intolerant. Everything tasted delicious!
I am heads over heels right now with the vegan latte called the Old Fashioned, which includes maple syrup and a hint of orange. Everything here is just delicious.
The food is so pretty. And very, very tasty.A feast for the eyes, then the mouth.
Amazing!! We had macaroons, creme brûlée eclair & a chocolate bomb. Wow! They were all absolutely amazing! The staff were kind and helpful & even gave us tips of where to go & how to get there. Terrific stop!
My favorite place, love it. Whenever I’m having a bad day, this place gives me a boost of happiness !
My absolute new favorite bakery. As former owner of a dessert establishment I consider myself quite the connoisseur. The treats here are an experience. Delectable and delish.
Very good dessert place! Every item looks very delicate and tastes good. Although it’s a bit pricy, the quality was good to justify it, and the staff seemed to follow the social distancing policy well to give customers enough space and peace in mind. We liked the pistachio feuilletine the most - the crunchy base and the smooth and flavorful filling were both impressive.
Best pastries in Columbus! Beautiful and delicious!
Fantastic bakery! Would highly recommend stopping. Friendly and helpful staff, line moved quick despite being busy. Very fresh bakery products and excellent beverages. Fair prices for the high quality of products. Would highly recommend and will absolutely be back again.
Over the past 4 years of living in the neighborhood, I’ve made a lot of excuses for the remarkably consistent horrible service at PV because I enjoy the pastries and food. We even had our wedding brunch catered by them. In store or pick up, I regularly leave amazed at how horrible the service is. Unfortunately today was the last straw- on top of the usual 30 min wait after the pick up time given (over an hour after I ordered) they ‘skipped’ our order and I had to wait more. I give at least 20% tip every time for context into the depth of the problem. Without a better pick up system and minimally decent service, even the best pastries lose their appeal. No more weekly orders and no more business from me. And no, I don’t want the 10 dollars off my next order- that presumes I’d actually return.
Delicious coffee and macaroons. Will definitely stop by again.
I love this place so much,, theyre a little pricy so I dont go often but what you get is certainly worth what you pay for it. This is by far my favorite macaron place that Ive found in the city and their lemon tarts are to die for
I ordered the iced chai tea latte, a ham & cheese croissant, blueberry vanilla custard, and their mushroom quiche. The iced chai was very balanced between sweet and spicy, more so sweet for those seeking a spicy chai. Their substitute milk options included oat milk, which was great! Their packaging is beautiful and the pastries are too. However, the quiche though perfectly baked was quite salty and the accompanying greens was very lackluster. The croissant was okay, not stand-out and kind of difficult to eat due to size. Blueberry pastry was also difficult to eat though beautiful. Overall, would return for their chai and maybe to buy macarons as a gift.
Best eclairs I’ve ever had. I’m so glad we decided to pop in.
Getting a latte and a Kouigan-Annan here is the best part of my week. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Some of the best pastries (and breads) Ive had outside of Europe!
One of the best places in Columbus! I have had the coffee, the pastries, the breakfast dishes, and the cakes. Everything has been absolutely phenomenal and the service is no different. Always looking forward to my next visit ❤️
Bakery and pastry of outstanding quality at a reasonable price. Coffee is good but not too the standard of the pastries. The sandwiches and more substantial foods are less impressive and over priced, but none of that matters as the pastry is SO good
I love the atmosphere and the macaroons are to die for! One of my favorite coffee shops in German Village.
Online ordering is great. Love the salmon crossiant sandwich
This little bakery was absolutely amazing! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They can even suggest parks, along with maps to them, to enjoy their fares. They have a parking lot across the street from them.
We are from out of town and were staying in German Village, someone told us about this place, one word DELICIOUS!!! I had the quice, (forgot to get a pic, cause I just dug into it..lol) The creme brulee eclairs and the other desserts were soooo good. Will be going there again when I am back in Ohio.
This is a wonderful Columbus treasure. They are a great stop for anyone who admires a well crafted pastry. They take time and effort to make authentic pastries as well as inventive new coffee selections. They are careful in their ingredient selection and are reasonably priced given the effort put into their product. I love walking down and enjoying a delicious chai and macron. I hope they stick around in German Village for a long time to come.
The chocolate bomb is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had! It was so good!! This place is cute and quaint and the quality is top notch. The employees are friendly and talk to you about the different selections. I loved my visit. It’s actually where I want to go back for my next birthday for another chocolate bomb and coffee.
Wow. For real wow. Best coffee, best cake best everything. What ever they sold it will be great. Since I tried the first time until today I go there weekly. I live in Dublin which is about 25 minutes away. If I live close to it I would go there every day. The stuff are awesome. Very kind and always clean and smalls perfect. I ordered the half ball (that’s what I called it) cake for my friend birthday and she loved it. Highly recommend it
I daydream about this place. The coffee is delicious, the macarons are flawless, and their smoked salmon sandwich on a rye croissant is amazing. Additionally, the staff are just simply wonderful: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. If I lived in Columbus, I would be a regular.
I had the mocha coffee which was delicious, extremely rich but it wasn’t heavy. The macarons are also awesome, they have so many pretty desserts I’ll have to come back and try
Columbuss go-to for German Village macarons and well-made pastries. The mocha macaron is my favorite. Tried the chocolate caramel mini-cake and the crème brûlée eclair, but both were too sweet. The cakes flavors were delicious otherwise, and I especially liked the nuttiness of the crust, which is reminiscent of a Graham cracker crust.Overall, nice place to stroll into on a weekend afternoon to enjoy some pastries and coffee.
Incredible bakery, I come down here almost every week. The croissants are always amazing, so flaky and buttery. Coffee is as anywhere in town. You have to try the macarons and eclairs. I want to eat the whole menu.
Omg! This is my fix for the season! 🤩 I have tried macaroons all across the city, and none measure up quite like they do to Pistacia Veras. It has everything to do with the quality and care they utilize when making their product. They have several different flavors that are all delicious, but none are quite like the Buckeye. If you like macaroons, and you want to try something local, this is the place to go. Only one other local company comes close. This is #1.
Very friendly staff. Great eclairs.
There are no bad choices here. All the baked goods are worth the calories.
Quick, personal and courteous service! Everyone is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The treats and drinks are second to none! The re-visit-ability of this place makes you WANT to be a regular! Ive always had a pleasant experience here and been treated with the best of care! If I could give Pistacia Vera 6 stars I absolutely would!
Amazing little coffee shop with various things to try. The taste and service was impeccable. My server was the sweetest lady ever. Everything they had in there was FRESH. Im so glad i came across this coffee shop. Its a must try whenever youre in Columbus, OH.Cant wait to go back and try rest of their mouthwatering recipes
Food is great buts it very expensive. Special occasion only for me.
I havent been inside, I just ordered delivery for a late breakfast this morning. I have been on the hunt for some quality local pastries, and this place might be my new go-to! The Kouign-Amann and the bacon quiche especially blew me away - and Ive been to Paris! Im not a huge fan of macarons in general but the Strawberries & Cream had great flavor. Ill definitely be coming back!
This has been my absolute favorite bakery for almost a decade. Other bakeries just simply do not compare. Any time I have a visitor from out of town, I take them here. They make the best macarons, and their lemon tart is the best dessert Ive ever had! The food quality is just so impeccable—the words gourmet and artisan come to mind. Their service is always outstanding and friendly as well. And a big kudos to them for figuring out a way to continue their quality service during the pandemic—their curbside pickup option is easy and worry-free. Ill be a customer for as long as they are around, which is hopefully forever!
Best and finest pastries in town. Period.
This is my favorite cafe in all of Columbus. I love all the macaron flavors so much, they have great seasonal rotations
Everything is made in-house. It all looks great and tastes better.
They have a good product. They may now have the only croissants in town. The French loaf was better, but it is now gone.
The service was great! Im just starting to try the things we purchased. The macarons have really excellent flavor. They are not quite as crisp as Ive usually had, but thats not bothering me at all!
I love this cute and sleek cafe. Their macarons are delicious and I absolutely love their pistachio cookies! Their prices have steady risen, so get them while you can buy tons!I love that theres also outdoor seating, for the nicer weather days. Theres plenty of other restaurants and the Book Loft down the street to explore.Staff here is nice and patient! They offer a variety of cakes, drinks, macarons, and other pastries. Their cakes are really pretty and everything is so decadent and pretty.I recommend trying their macarons and pistachio cookie, bring your family, friends, a casual date, or a sweet snack!
The Almonds croissant is outstanding. The staff are friendly and the place is warm and welcoming. Just a bit salty drove for 30 mins and found out no almonds croissants left. Ill definitely pre-order for next time.
Best chef quality desserts around Columbus, everything is delicious and I think they’re not that expensive. The reason for three stars is because every time I come in here I don’t feel welcome and like I’m not good enough for the baristas to be friendly…
I stopped in for breakfast while wandering around German Village, and was bowled over by the mushroom quiche. It was rich and delicious, and everything I look for in a quiche - not to mention perfectly complimented by a fresh side of dressed greens to lighten it up a bit. Of course I couldnt leave without trying a Honey Lavender macaron, which was delightful with just the right amount of lavender flavor. Ill definitely be back!
I went to Paris a few years ago and although Ive found good macaroons none had quite the same amazing texture, until now. These macaroons are by far the best Ive had in the states. I found the prices to be quite reasonable considering the labor that goes into French baking. And the Flat White the barista recommended was fab!
Amazing dessert!! The dessert was fantastic, and it is a definitely a must if you’re in . You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I would recommend the chocolate and raspberry mini cake.
Fun delicious always macaroni, this time artichoke croissant. Yum
The best almond croissants weve ever had!
Its always a treat to visit Pistacia Vera. The pastries are delicious and theres enough variety to please everyone. I have enjoyed each item I have tried, but the Bostick and macarons are particular favourites. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The business has done a fantastic job of implementing safety measures during the pandemic. Ive used curbside pickup and visited inside, and I have been completely satisfied that all employees take everyones safety seriously.
This is the spot! The strawberry almond torte is so good (along with everything else)!!
Delicious macaroons and coconut matcha eu claire!
Got ham and cheese croissant, creme brûlée eclair and pear tartlet. Food was 10/10, all components are top notch.Beyond the food, the service was great. Fast, kind, and maintain a clean workspace. Worth checking out for sure.
Went here while visiting Columbus and found it to be a delight! I tried their lemon tart and a raspberry macaron. I hadn’t had macarons before, but I thought the one I had was absolutely delicious. The tart was just tangy enough and while it was sweet, it wasn’t an overpowering sweetness. Both of the treats were super cute, to boot! I think the line was managed well and Covid-19 restrictions were being followed well.
Love the macarons. A perfect location to grab a bite and then walk around German village.
Excellent quiche and simple side salad. Also had a wonderful apricot tart!
Not a coffee shop I can normally go to because they are already closed when I leave the office - but walked past there today when they were still open and it was a very positive experience. All I had was a cappuccino but it was excellent. Really friendly people working there, with table service (just have to order at the counter). Very nice interior, slightly reminds me of Europe, very unlike other coffee shops in Columbus. Will be back if they ever extend their hours, and then have to try some of their pastries as well!
Stop whatever you are doing and grab one of their French Onion Soup Croissants! PV please keep these on the menu...amazing! It’s like your favorite bowl of the stuff packed into a breakfast treat...Wow
Wow! I had the best combination of coffee and desert here. Place is glorious! Pastries selection is great, I recommend people to try all tips of macarons. Superb service, food is yummy, all by all FIVE STARS!
Bakery selections are pretty good; coffee tastes good too. Price is a little expensive for the portion though
Not your average cake shop - were talking major french pastry, no kidding here. A wide selection of delicious foods and drinks, as well as some savory too for lunch. I especially enjoy the decadent mousse cakes, the nicely browned pastries with character and confidence, and the coffee. This is only place to get canelés de Bordeaux (see picture) in that area - so good !
