I always have a positive experience with Lakota, whether it be the downtown location or the drive-thru on the south side. Most recently, I placed an order through the app for pick up, and got a call a few minutes later that one of the items I requested was out of stock. The employee walked me through replacement options and my order was quickly processed. I also have gluten and other allergen restrictions, and the staff is always so friendly and happy to answer questions. They also triple check my order to confirm its allergen-safe every time without my asking. Stellar people, excellent coffee. Cheers!

I’m a tea drinker and everything I have ever ordered here has been delicious! The staff is courteous and friendly. The wifi is usually strong so I can write/work. The decor and natural lighting makes this an energizing and bright place to be productive.

Easily the best coffee in town. Only the south location has a drive-thru, but be warned the queue is often long, sometimes spilling out onto busy Green Meadows. I have never ordered from inside, so I dont know what the inside wait is like. The coffee at Lakota is always the best in Columbia and if youre looking for a good, light lunch, youll find the pastrami or the BLT a satisfying meal.

Fantastic service. Great coffee. Highly recommend the grilled cheese as well. Be patient on waiting for food - they make everything fresh! One of the best local coffee house in town. So glad that opened a south location and I dont have to go to downtown location! Theyre always sending coupons in the mail, so make sure you hold onto them!

The coffee is good, and its a nice space. However, the customer service is seriously lacking. There were 5 employees behind the counter, and all of them seemed much more interested in serving the drive-thru than the customers inside the shop. Be prepared to wait. Not just to order, but also for your coffee/food. I got my latte within 5 minutes of ordering, which was kind of a miracle. However, I had to wait 18 minutes for my turkey sandwich. Luckily, I had time to kill, so I didnt mind too much. With that being said, that is unacceptable to me. I dont expect fast food speeds, but its irritating to watch car after car being served in the drive-thru while youre standing there being completely ignored.

The staff here are great! Lakota is one of my favorite places to go to study. I’ll be coming back to the south location soon for sure.

The lobby was crowded, but that is hardly the fault of the shop. And for good reason, the coffee was delicious! Also, they gave my son a free danish. Ill definitely be coming back for a to go cup every chance I get.

Love this place. Both locations have great atmosphere and friendly staff. We go everytime we are in Columbia visiting our son. Highly recommend their whole bean coffees too. Go and you wont be disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE the South location. All locations are great, but Lakota South is so much more open and bigger. The staff go above and beyond every time I go there. A+ coffee shop!

Friendly staff who know a thing or two about coffee. I have had some issues with the coffee being just warm when I order it, but If I tell them to make it hot then its perfect! They have some great coffee bean selections and is my go to since they are just down the street from me. Sometimes I get a little drawing on my cup and that makes my day!

Loving this new location for Lakota. Its super cozy inside with an appropriate lighting and noise level. There are outlets on the floor by almost every single table and by the bar seats facing the window. Theres also bar top seats where you can watch the baristas in action and outdoor seating for when the weather is nice.

Crazy about the variety! Ordered an amaretto flavored oat latte for myself and loved it. Nice to know this place is considerate for those with dietary restrictions/vegan friendly. Did the drive-thru. Great coffee. Had a large latte with almond milk and two shots of espresso. Really good pick me up. Also got a bacon and egg biscuit. That was yummy, but messy for in the car. Service was cheerful and helpful. Nice.

I’ve been going to this coffee shop for a long time, but today, I ordered a Venti latte iced with no ice and they had the gall to tell me that they were only going to fillet 2/3 of the way. This is a six dollar drink I got an extra shot of espresso and oat milk that I already pay extra for, I told him that they were going to be that petty than I was going to go somewhere else. And I sure did go to Starbucks and didn’t charge me a dime extra for no ice. Way to go Lakota owners- way to value to customers!

My wife swears by this place. Im not a coffee drinker but I usually find something on the menu for me and the staff are quite helpful. I bought some beans for my wife one year and I had no idea what I was doing but the staff were able to ask the right questions about her coffee preference and help me get the correct blend without needing to ruin the surprise by asking my wife what to get.They know what they are doing and are quite friendly.

Best bacon egg and cheese bagel I have had in awhile. Bacon was perfect - salty and savory. Bagel was crispy on the outside and just chewy enough inside so you didnt have to tear it with your teeth. I drink decaf but it was just right. They took awhile at the service - but they were super busy and decaf always takes longer. Outside sitting area for dogs and distancing.

Gotta love Lakota, by far the best local coffee joint in Columbia. They cater to all price points and have some solid draft choices on top of the coffee as well!

Favorite place to get coffee or a specialty drink when we are in Columbia! They also have some good bagels and other bakery items. We love their coffee so much we’ve purchased beans to bring home to enjoy and we have also done a mail order a few times for their espresso beans and they are always super fast getting them out for delivery!

Lakota Coffee Company is great!! I love the coffee. Its not bitter but can be really sweet depending on what you order. The smoothies are really good, add Greek yogurt. You can also order sandwiches, donuts, bagels, and other goodies, all good.

LOVE this new location! The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is great. And of course theres the best coffee in Missouri. I also recommend stopping in after dinner for a cocktail. The caramel rum macchiato is ridiculously good!

They’re open very late and also have a loyalty program (punch cards) - what’s not to love?The matcha green tea latte and the chocolate muffins are superb.Don’t forget to ask for whipped cream and a biscuit for your dog at the window, and expect him to be crowed over : )

We took advantage of the warmer weather and sat out on the back patio. It was the perfect spot! My friend loves their light roast coffee and I had a beer. It was a great place to go since my friend wanted coffee and I wanted alcohol : )

A lovely relax atmosphere. Great service. From England we find it hard to find a good cup of English black hot tea in the USA . My wife said the tea was very good. I had a latte and loved it.

How can you run out of 20 oz. cups? With three locations in town surely you could borrow some from one of the other locations. If it’s going to be a long time before the supply of printed cups is replenished, how about getting some generic cups?
