Great coffe choices! Reasonable prices and hasnt changed in 25 - 30 years since the last time I was there.

Yesterday my family and I visited Mizzou and before I left I asked our tour guide where is the best coffee. He said Lakota, hands down. Today, I made the Lakota house blend and it is awesome. I never order coffee on-line but now I will thanks to you. Have a wonderful day and drink that Lakota love.

Great local Coffee Shop! I really like their coffee and their iced lattes are always great, not too sweet and not too bitter. I tend to get their Ethiopian beans and use them for my own cold brew at home. Great atmosphere, and the staff have always been nice :)

They were out of everything at 11 am in the morning. The staff looked like they didnt want to be there. In fact when I checked out the machine wouldnt take my card. The young woman behind the counter finally said, you know what? I dont even care. I dont get paid enough for this. I had said nothing the entire time, until I said I had cash.I received my bagel, which was average at best. When my smoothie came up it was so watered down that it was completely liquefied.I will never go back and suggest the same to others.

Based on the Saturday morning line of folks waiting to order this is the go-to coffeehouse in downtown. Its proximity to the campus probably explains a lot of it. The phenomenal coffee, service and atmosphere explain the rest.

Tons of variety for bulk purchasing beans. Good roasts, fast service. I liked the atmosphere, got there before the rush. Breakfast was a bit small portioned but very tasty and quality ingredients.

Coffee is good. Pricey but thats how coffee is these days for some reason. Food is decent too. Gets crowded waiting for your order. Wish it was a bit more space for that.

Love Lakota! It was the scene for so many coffee dates during my college days. It doesnt look like much has changed with the exception of a few items. Great atmosphere, good service, awesome offerings.

I love this place! I have been going here since I was a baby. I loved coming in for peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches and playing the board games out front. I moved away in grade school but it still warms my heart every time I come back to Columbia to make a stop at Lakota. I also bought my favorite mug there. Everything is high quality: the excellent coffee, the food, the atmosphere, the products for sale. Highly recommend. :)

We’ve been there thrice. I’ve always ordered the mocha frappe with soy milk. It was really good twice, the coffee flavor is excellent. But the third time, the drink was just bad. I had to throw away the whole thing. There was no flavor of coffee or chocolate either. It was basically soy milk with crushed ice. There is no consistency in how the drinks taste. But their coffee is really good!

Good coffee but a pain to deal with parking. Really great vibe inside and cant beat seeing them roasting in the back!

This is a great little coffee shop with fast service and good drinks. Coffee, tea, smoothies and lots of baked goods. Plus they support indigenous peoples.

Edit: We ordered our coffee to go from the website since the line was growing. After waiting 40 minutes we asked and they said they didn’t even know online orders were a thing. The drinks are always on point, which is why I make it a must-do, when I’m visiting my kiddos at MU, to stop by and get my Large Latte with 4 shots, a d Almond Milk. Mmmmm…so good. And they carry some of the best Keto cookies I’ve had so far!

I thought this was great! My kids and I were walking downtown and we went for coffee here. Out front is a few tables and there was someone playing guitar, even that early on a Sunday. Inside has alot of charm and character. I felt very welcomed.

One of my absolute favorite places to visit in Downtown Columbia, and in the city of Columbia as a general whole. The atmosphere is quite similar to that of Mudhouse Coffee in Downtown Springfield. My family and I went there when we visited my sister in Columbia, while she was at Missouri Scholars Academy and during her freshman and sophomore years at Mizzou. But that was in my teens. I have not set foot in there since then, and that is one thing about Columbia that I miss today.

Awesome baristas. Awesome service. And despite how busy they get I’m always greeted with a smile and leave with a few laughs!

My morning brew. Waking to the rise of the sun, strolling from Mizzou to Lakota.Extremely reliable drip. Wide selection of single origin beans. Loads of pastries. And who knows what else. I come for a tall cup of drip and always leave happy. What more could you want?

Amazing coffee, especially the snickerdoodle roast. Friendly employees who are always knowledgeable on the menu. Very cool to see the beans actually getting roasted in the back as well!

After reading the reviews online while traveling from Kentucky back to SD we happily ordered a 20oz Caramel Latte with a triple shot. Although the coffee tasted good, it was lacking the expected expresso flavor from an additional shot. I also noticed that with my 115 pound frame there was no caffeine effect😕. I will add that I was not masked and got the feeling from the staff that that was not appreciated. Had to stop an hour later for another coffee. Disappointed.

Decent coffee and good WiFi. They tried too hard with the interior decor and its a bit tacky. Theres too many bags of coffee just sitting around with display beans on them. They also sell coffee brewing supplies such as chemex and pour over.

Ordered 3 pound sampler one morning. Recieved it in the mail the next morning. Great job Lakota Coffee Company and the United States Postal Service.

Wow, absolutely love this coffee/eatery! Roasting coffee beans fills the air with an intoxicating aroma, Lakota is warm, inviting and intimate all at once. A perfect place to start your day or study in quiet and respectful atmosphere. Always staffed with knowledgeable and thoughtful people and the ownership is reflected by that. This place sets the tone of Columbia and sets the bar for the rest of the coffee snobs out there. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. ☕️

The staff at University Hospital do an amazing job! Very friendly and fast!

This place is the #1 thing I miss about college. The caramel macchiato puts starbucks to shame. The daily rotation of different coffee blends was always a great way to start a busy day. The food is top tier. Everything about this place is phenomenal.

Pour Over of Guatemala was incredible. I love their strawberry cream cheese croissants. Must try

Do NOT go to this place the workers are rude as can be and treat people like they are an inconvenience. Always spoke well about Lakota from my experience at the south side location but they need to get rid of the rude inexperienced little girls they have running the place and microwaving sandwiches for us. 0/0 DO YOUR JOB & DONT COME TO WORK IF YOUR GONNA BE RUDE TO THE PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Horrible service and the workers are careless and rude. Would not recommend this shop to anybody, the south location is much friendlier and have a lot better customer service. They hire young teenage girls who don’t care to even be at work.

The employees are always very good and prompt with orders. I cant say that Ive ever had a bad experience at Lakota in the 3 years Ive lived in Columbia. The atmosphere is also a great part of the experience at Lakota, and I believe theyve achieved the aesthetic they were aiming for. On top of the great staff and location, they have some of the best products in town. I highly recommend getting a tea and any if their sandwiches!

I love the staff you have here at the hospital location. They are all super friendly even though their job can be stressful at times. They make wonderful coffee and are great at recommending things they think I will like.

This is my favorite place in all of Columbia. The memories I have studying here for hours with my friends, along with their bottomless coffee cups and giant cookies. By far the best coffee I have ever had, and happy to find out they ship it across the country!

This is the place to go to study, grab a pastry or enjoy the peaceful quiet experience. I enjoyed my time there. The muffins and the tea there was always great to indulge while studying for school. The staff are really friendly and attentive.

Love the ice coffee w/ sugar free Hazelnut, and cut w/coconut milk.....its the best flavored ice coffee in town! Also, the staff at the hospital location are great, they know what I l like and make good suggestions. The Southside crew are also very good and service is great. Love the happy hour drive thru!

Ordered a cold coffee was phenomenal not overly strong or way to sweet literally perfection in a cup Starbucks who. I also ordered two pastries one of which was out Lakota coffee went above and beyond to fix my order like I was pleasantly surprised of how professional they handled the situation they could have done less and I would have been happy with that they jumped over the moon best coffee ever best chocolate croissant by far

Lakota has the coolest atmosphere in Columbia. Located on Ninth Street, its great for anyone who loves coffee. I would highly recommend anything there. The staff is awesome, and the coffee is freshly-roasted in-house. Best coffee in Missouri!

Great place to grab some coffee. I usually, grab their coffee shake. It’s espresso mixed with vanilla ice cream, and it’s SO DELICIOUS. As for their lattes and other drinks I think they are pretty good also. They have a wide variety of drinks and snacks on their menu. It’s a chill environment - very tiny, great place for students to study without a large crowd.
