I have had the same luck at car dealerships as everyone else in this world. That was until I made a visit to Phil Long Value Car in Colorado Springs. Christian the General Manager and the salesman Josh redefined what serving the community means with a refreshing experience in honesty and value with my car purchasing endeavor. I have found a trust in all of my future purchases due to the amazing helpfulness that they provided to me which has made me a lifetime client. What an amazing experience. Bought my first ever car here and the service couldnt have been better. Monty (my car salesman) was INCREDIBLE. Very professional, not pushy whatsoever, got me exactly what I wanted, and all around a wonderful guy. The entire staff was helpful and professional too. Small issues with the car, but they were willing to go out of their way to fix the issues and make sure we walked out of there happy! I highly recommend this place for first time buyers! Had a great experience dealing with Matt Hampton. We made an appointment to look at a car and he had it ready when we arrived. Once wed decided on the car, he worked with us up until the hand off to finance. Very nice, friendly young man.As for Valucar; much easier to work with than Daniels Long Chevrolet. I got $4k more for my trade in at Valucar; they used KBB whereas the Daniels team put my car out on an auction site and tried to low ball me.Be careful out there and know the value of your car before heading out.

Traded in my 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium for a 2015 Chrysler 300 S. Did my research in advance to decide on the make/model I wanted and found one through CarGurus with everything I was looking for on the lot here, so I did come in specifically to check out that car. I found the guys at ValuCar to be very accommodating throughout the process and they were willing to work with me to reach an agreeable price. Eddie was very helpful and in the end I left with the car I wanted at a good deal. Ive had the 300 for a week and so far its been great- exactly the upgrade I was looking for.Thanks guys!

Buyer beware. Theyre listing vehicles privately on Facebook marketplace, then when you get to the dealership, they claim its the trainee that listed it. When called out on it, both the listing on their website, as well as the Facebook ad disappears instantly.

Horrible experience. We bought a car and it over heated before getting it home. Took it to our mechanic who found tons of issues with the cooling system. We returned to the dealership and they told us they werent going to do anything but a band-aid fix. We asked about an exchange but theres nothing on the lot. After their fix it will cost another $2000 and 10 hours of work to get the car to a safe a drivable point.

I sold my car to this dealership on August 20th. Today is September 2nd and my loan was paid off. They offered me even more than KBB estimated it for. The process was very fast and easy. The reason why I am giving 4 stars is because I was told my front bumper would probably be fixed and it was not, but its just cosmetic so the car still runs great and as it should. Besides that, I had a nice experience and Christian was AWESOME in communicating and keeping me updated on the car buying process, especially since this was my first time purchasing a car on my own. It’s a used Car Dealership. Period. Not the good kind. Do not trust the salesmen, they will say whatever they have to say to sell you an overpriced, UNRELIABLE, faulty car.UPDATE: After reading this they reached out to us, wondering why we didn’t give them a chance to fix the situation, to which we explained we didn’t trust them since they couldn’t get it right the first time. So they said they would discuss it and see if they could compensate us for any expenses we experienced, but NEVER followed through or even called back.Went to register the car to find out they fat fingered the title work, so I had to get the temp tag extended and wait for them to fix it. Wasting more of my time.And finally today I get a call to come back and resign the title for the vehicle we traded... FOR A THIRD TIME! Every time we signed where they told us to sign and clearly they don’t have a clue what they are doing. This place is a circus.

Be ware! I received a call from this dealership wanting to purchase my 2017 Tesla. I went in and spoke with them and we agreed on a price. After signing the paperwork the representative Andrew told me that I couldn’t get paid until Tuesday when the business office opened. I wasn’t happy but what else could I do? I waited until Wednesday and stopped back in at the dealership to get my check. They told me that I had to wait until they got the title release from my bank before I could get paid. 3 weeks later I learned that they had sold my car to an individual in Utah. How can they sell a car without a title? Isn’t that against the law? After calling the DMV and my bank I discovered that they did have the title over a week ago and still hadn’t cut my check. Crooks!!!

What took a few weeks was well worth the wait. We financed through our bank, who dragged their feet a bit, ok... a LOT. But Jeff Overmann had the patience of Job through the whole ordeal. He worked with us even on his days off to make sure we got a truck we were happy with. Before we went to Phil Long, we had experienced some nightmare dealerships, lying salesmen and were on the verge of giving up. We took a chance and drove an hour and a half to meet with Jeff after talking with him over the phone. Jeff is honest, up front and will do everything in his power to get you what you need and if it isnt possible, he will tell you why and explain everything in detail. He is RARE. I have been in sales for over a decade and know the tricks of the trade. Im not easily duped. So, let me tell you if you want to work with someone who possesses honesty and integrity, Jeff is the one you need to see. We love our truck and we love you, Jeff! This post is mainly to praise Christian Garcia for being so sincere and helpful - going above and beyond to find information and being very responsive as well as honest and sincere. He worked with me for about a week to make sure I had the information I needed to make a decision about a Ford Escape I found through a reputable vehicle review site that linked me to vehicles in my area. It was only after discussing extended warranties and deductibles with finance department personnel that I decided not to buy from this dealership ONLY due to distance concerns regarding deductibles and servicing since Im in the Denver area and this dealership is in the Springs. If distance and deductible concerns werent an issue, I would have definitely and happily bought a vehicle with the help of Christian. If you are in the Springs area, I highly recommend checking out what this dealership has to offer and definitely asking if Christian is available to help.

Never buying a car here again. I’ve had some great experiences shopping else here but this place takes the cake for worst service. I have them one star because I did end up getting the car I wanted, but this process was bad. Our sales man had the most terrible communication skills. I would constantly call and see what the status of my deal was and I was always told I would get a call back. I was told two times that we had a deal for a down payment and price and each time they came back asking for more money. They stopped communicating because my deal wasn’t a “slam dunk” and they put more effort into other people. They kept asking for documents that I already provided and when calling to confirm if they received it, it would take 4-6 hours to get a response. I told them from the beginning that I didn’t have the best credit and they game me the good old sales pitch that it didn’t matter. I understand the bank has to approve me and not them but why would you try to send me home in a car that I wasn’t approved for. It took a whole week to get the final agreement end even then I was told “we got the deal done” and when I asked if it was for what we agreed on, it wasn’t. I eventually got the deal I wanted after pulling so many teeth. This was a horrible experience. Even to this day, 11/15/2020 I called to get some information from the sales man and it’s been 3 days and still no call back. I ask if someone else can help me and I get told “ someone will call you back.”

Bought my used RAM Power Wagon from Christian Garcia at Phil Long. Im 5 hrs from Colorado Springs so doing this remotely creates a lot of issues. Christian did an amazing job of getting me all the info I needed to make my decision; going so far as to make a video of the truck and sending it to me with a detailed description of the vehicle from top to bottom. I am astounded at the lack of response when asking for help with purchasing a vehicle. I dont have perfect credit and I feel like I have been ignored because of it. I have asked for help repeatedly from finance with no response whatsoever. I definitely would not recommend shopping here. It seems like they only seek elite buyers. Meanwhile, I am blown off because my credit isnt great.

Dont take their offers with additional add ons with their sales team. If they say theyre going to do something, theyre absolutely not going to do it. Its been 5 months since I have gotten my car from them to get then to honor the contact they signed, and Its like trying to get blood out of a stone. They take my calls, showed up in person, and they dont really care about honoring the contact because you already bought the car. If you are looking for additions like details, free mats, etc that are offered if you take it, then understand you will not get any of that. They will run you down the line until you forget or just get so fed up, that you dont want to put any more energy into it. I will make sure I show up every week until they honor their contract. Buy elseware, theyre two faced.

HOWEVER- if you want terrible customer service, employees who will not return your phone calls, a dealership who will not answer questions or follow through on their end post purchase- ABSOLUTELY COME HERE. I have never had such a struggle to get my tags- and when I contact them to get an extension on the temp tags because THEY did not submit their information to the DMV, I’m told they cannot help me. They also promised to replace the windshield that hail damage once the new windshield came in... has yet to happen. Car was purchased in October.

Great experience in the beginning, but went to DMV close to 60 days after purchase. I tried to register the new truck, and DMV refused to register, due to name was spelled incorrectly on title, and I thought that was it. But the DMV had a list of mess ups on the paperwork. And told me they notified the dealership of all the issues, and have not heard back from them. Definitely would not be an issue, but I deploy in 30 days. So yea, pretty frustrating.

I went to trade in my car which was a great process overall. However when I bought my Infiniti from there, the drivers side window did not work on going up automatically, the sales man Jeff Overman advised me to get a quote from Infiniti and they would pay to have it fixed or just send me the money to get it fixed. I got the quote several months ago and it was over $1,200. I have left several messages for him, text messages (as he gave me his number) and voicemails with no response. After months of trying to get the issue fixed I finally gave up. Great sales people, but their follow through with promises is not there.

I purchased a F150 from this location 2 weeks ago, the manager that night was Derrick Jordan. I’ve never had such terrible customer service in my life. I asked for the full correct amount before I called my bank, they assured me the amount they gave me with the exact amount of the loan I would be requesting . So I called USAA and had them send over everything correctly and I completed the loan. Come to find out they put the wrong city for my information which came out with the wrong taxes, making my loan amount different. Making my loan hundreds of dollars off. I talked to Derrick Jordan and he said he doesn’t know what I expect him to do, that if anything “it’s saving me money” and I was explaining to him that it’s not saving me money because I already completed the loan and that’s something they should’ve caught and since they didn’t, they should credit me the amount back or send the difference back to my USAA loan account. He said “I guess you should ask yourself if a few hundred dollars means that much to you” excuse me but that’s my money and I don’t play around with people who are disrespectful about wasting my money. That manager “who is supposed to be professional” just laughed and said is it really that big of a deal. I am a veteran myself, I still work on Fort Carson but now as a civilian and I have many people Who asked where I got my truck from and I will never refer them to this location because of this experience I had. Derrick Jordan Was a very unprofessional employee here at Phil Long and honestly makes this company look terrible. I’ve expressed this to many people and I regret my business ever entering this parking lot. I’m highly disappointed that men like “Mr. jordan” represent what this company stands for.-Martina Turner

Recently (this month) my boyfriend sold A VERY nice vehicle to the company, a car that they were lucky to get on their lot to sell and the experience was very terrible for him from the next day of him handing over the keys. It’s just a shame how the salesman and company were very quick to take the car but were very slow and delayed on getting him the payment for the car and the remaining amount of the money. They first started with 3-5 business days to finalize the sale and then nobody followed up within those days so my boyfriend did the following up and was repeatedly told he was going to get a call back and never got one so he had to keep calling when finally he got ahold of someone and was told there was some sort of issue and delay that it would take two weeks, so of course that get frustrating when you’ve sold something and they have their product but you do not have the money for it so he asked for them to figure it out because the already start of a hassle so they said they would talk to the business managers and get right back to him and he gave them a couple days but of course no one especially the salesman Matt would not do his customer service and follow up with any information so my boyfriend had to do the calling once again and got the “someone will call you back” and of course no call so getting real frustrated asked for help from just anybody which they looked into and was told it was going to be another two weeks so they’ve had a car on their lot for almost 3-4 weeks without paying their customer and no offer to make anything better throughout the whole process especially from the salesman that did the whole sale/buy or any hire ups so the transaction was very awful!!! Thank you Jeff for an amazing experience. He listened to what we wanted and did his best to make sure that we were happy with what we were looking at and buying. He made sure to get us in and out as quick as possible. However they sold us a car that needs to be topped off on all fluids and the battery died this morning and Ive had it less than 24 hours.

Initial review with a couple minor updates:5/18/2019We drove 90 miles to get a great deal on a 2018 Focus ST, at the agreed upon price of 19,500 out the door. Confirmed with the sales guy Brian when I got there... Yep, 19500. After filling out the paperwork the store manager who was there that day tells me he cant sell it to me for that, even though I had an email stating that 19,500 was the out the door price, and he wants another $600 because he cant let it go for 19500. Tried to convince me that it would only be a few bucks per payment, but the bigger issue is that he refused to let me pay what was agreed. After a brief, but frustrating conversation, we drove 90 miles home and I figured that would be the end of this transaction, and I left a 1-star review.On Monday, 5/20/2019, the GM of Phil Long Hyundai (which oversees this ValuCar location), Steve, reached out to me and wanted to talk about the poor experience I had and do what he could to rectify it. He apologized for the treatment I received, and said that is definitely not how they normally do business. The sales manager I dealt with that day hed had a chat with, and based upon my conversation with Steve, Im sure the sales manager should be good to go if a similar situation would ever arise again. I know that everyone has a bad day every now and then, and today was apparently his day, and Ill just give some grace for that because I have them, too.During my 30 minute conversation with Steve, he acknowledged the problems with the transaction and ensured the price I had was a valid contract price, but in order to earn my business back was willing to go further. After discussing several options, my wife and I were very happy with the results, and are now awaiting the fulfillment of the discussion within the next couple days.I will update this review in the coming days as the transaction hopefully concludes, but Im very pleased with the efforts the GM is making to try to win us back. A lot of dealers wouldnt care, but it seems these guys do.5/23/19So today was a really good day.,. Steve and Brian worked it out so that the car could be delivered to my home, along will all the paperwork we needed to sign, so we didnt need to drive back down to the Springs. The delivery drivers even waited a few minutes for my wife and I to get everything signed to take back (even though theyd provided a FedEx envelope for stuff). Along with that, Steve was able to get me some really nice financing, and since the price was so low compared to what it was worth, got me some cash out (3800) so I could finish paying off the van. Paying that off by June has been a goal since December, but wed all but given up on that since overtime was been thin this spring. Thats a HUGE help to only have 2 car payments instead of 3 for the next 9 months, and that was all Steves idea.So, now Ive got a car thats a great ride and gets better mileage than my Escape, were accomplishing the goal of paying the loan off on the van, weve got great financing on the car, and we got it delivered. These folks really bent over backwards to earn our business and make us happy with the purchase, and they really didnt have to. Im nobody special, honestly, but they definitely treated me like I was, so Im bumping this to 5 stars and can honestly recommend Phil Long dealerships to friends from here onward. The next time we need another vehicle Ill definitely look at these folks again.6/10/19:Have had this car for a couple weeks now and am so happy with it. Awesome mileage, a ton of fun to drive, and its exactly what I was looking for. Ive also had a few texts/emails from the folks at the dealership to check on how things were going with the car, which was a pleasant surprise.... never had a dealer care enough to check on me AFTER they sold me a car. Bought a car from here and upon test drive the ac system didn’t work so i told them to fix that and they only fixed the cold air and not the heat but comes to figure out my heater box was broken (upon inspection at another shop) since the day i bought it so now I’m paying 1500$ in repairs because they didn’t want to observe the whole system. So i got my car inspected at a different shop and comes to figure out it also had a leaking head gasket in which now I’m paying 4K in repairs when a simple inspection when i bought the car it all could’ve been avoided. Also don’t try calling the place they either won’t pick up or just transfer you to someone who isn’t on site, called to get information on my warranty and the “finance manager” was exclaiming how he hasn’t sent an email before so i need to be patient. Who doesn’t know how to send a email nowadays especially as a manager! Thought this was a great place for first time car buyers but i would never recommend anyone of my friends or family’s to go here because it seems like once you hand them the money they want they will not want to assist you ever again!

If I could leave no stars I would!!!!!!! This is the absolute worst customer experience and dealership I have ever dealt with. I have never had to take something to the news or to a lawyer before in my lifebut here we are today. Don’t waste your time or your money here. Phil Long Valu Car on Motor City charged us almost $40,000 on a $18,000 car. We purchased a car during the lockdown of COVID-19 so we were unable to actually enter the building to settle and discuss finances due to the pandemic. The finance manager took this opportunity to misinform us and took our $10,000 down payment to use towards warranties we did not agree to. When attempting to resolve this issue at the dealership 2 months later the finance manager continued to lie to us about not legally being able to produce signed paperwork to us, kicked us out of the dealership when we tried to escalate the situation, he was insulting, belittling, and rude. I recorded the entire conversation with the finance manager about all of this. After looking at all the paperwork not only charging us unapproved warranties he also added our $10,000 down payment to the price of the car along with all of our original purchase agreements and paper work not even being signed by the finance manager!! Thank you for this and you’ll be hearing from the news!!!!

Car shopping is not my favorite experience, and last minute we were calling for information on a car in Colorado Springs from Denver. Brian Whitlatch helped us out and offered to pull the car to the side as we drove down from Denver to take a look. He got to know us and what I really wanted out of my car and he made sure to point out the different qualities and features that were going to be most valuable to me. He was also very patient with us when it came to haggling a price and making arrangements. I was also extremely surprised and pleased with his follow up after purchasing a car. He went as far as to call me for a week or two after purchasing it to make sure everything was going great and there were no questions regarding how to use anything on the car.

I had to return a vehicle because they called me a week after purchase to inform me they could not secure financing. I was then told they could not return my $1500 deposit that day because it was the weekend but theyd do it Monday. It is now Wednesday and Ive had to call multiple times and not once have I gotten to speak to the manager despite asking over and over again. I still have yet to get MY money back. Typical sharks and really upset that this was my first car buying experience.

Came in with a friend not looking for anything and her consultant, Matt Hampton, actually helped me a lot . I’m 19 paying over %17 for a car i don’t even want so i talked to him for a while and he set up a plan for me on what i could do to change it and how he could help me. At the end of the day i couldn’t take the deal at the time but he offered that whenever i feel like i wanted to take the offer, to give him a call and he’ll be more than happy to help. Absolutely love my truck:The sales manager that helped our sales person was GREAT.Tim in finance was Amazing, and besides the truck he was the best part of the experience.Then there was the salesperson Jeff.when he 1st contacted me I was very specific as to what I dint want to happen and had asked that certain things be lined out before arriving. He assured me they were .I showed up and he didnt have the truck on site.He still hasnt gotten me the extra key.i put my own temp tag on. Learned to pair my own phone. And he said he would fill the tank and wash it... we agreed I dint need wash. But the gas would have been cool. He got his check mark . That was his concern

Loved the experience. Purchased a Jeep Wrangler from here and worked with Ronnie. I let him know about past car buying experiences and he assured me that he would be completely transparent with me. Ended up getting a great deal and the financier managed to get us GAP and a 100,000 mile warranty included for under list price. Definitely recommend and will be sure to come here the next time I need a vehicle.

Excellent dealership with an awesome selection for every interest. If you find yourself at this dealership, ask for Colby Racine and he will take care of you as long as you have a realistic goal/offer. I absolutely hate this part of the review and do not believe the dealership is at fault, however, avoid salesman Evan as he is not personable and did not answer three out of three of my phone calls, a text message, and misquoted actual features of the vehicle. Overall I would absolutely do business here again!
