Ive always wanted to visit a coffee house and I feel we made the perfect choice for our coffee date 🥰 The staff was wonderful. They gave great conversation and suggestions. The atmosphere was great as well. It was pretty laid back and they were playing music but it wasnt the radio (which was great). We especially enjoyed the sign about sanitizing your hands when entering the premises. The vegan chia muffin and apple turnover are divine!!! We ordered 2 more before leaving.. We cant wait to go back.

Not only were the people who worked here over moon friendly, but the place was clean and the coffee....oh let me tell you about the coffee. Out the thousands of cups of coffee I have had in my short time on this planet, definitely the best Ive ever had was here at this place. Definitely come through!

This is the most positive upbeat coffee shop Ive ever walked into! The service, coffee and vibe are all fantastic. They are also taking great covid safety steps which is very much appreciated! Highly recommend you make a stop here when in OTR.

This place is the place. The smells will wake up all your senses. The baked goods and pastries are so beautiful and perfect that you dont want to mess them up by taking a bite. But you wont be able to resist yourself They have a vegan pumpkin muffin that customers rave about then have an array of choices in coffee and drinks to get your morning started with. Every thing is priced well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The art is gorgeous. Such good vibes inside. The best thing though was the friendly staff. They really make you feel welcomed. If you go to that other corporate place to get your coffee.. oreven if you dont like coffee you can find something for you.. I’ve done several deliveries for this business and every time I go in there I get the most professional customer service! All the employees are very friendly and welcoming. They always get orders ready in a timely manner and if there is going to be a wait, they make sure you know and they don’t just leave you hanging like most of the restaurants I’ve delivered for. I’m happy to make deliveries for this business.

Absolutely enjoyed stopping into Black Coffee Lounge. Everyone was very nice and helpful when ordering. Excellent Covid protocol and even better chai tea latte. The artwork inside both in pieces and on the wall were awesome. I will absolutely stop in again when back in Cincinnati.

I live downtown, and I order this place for breakfast at least 2-3 times a week. Minimum. I always get a different coffee (trying to taste them all) and have yet to have a bad one. And always order two buttered croissants, toasted of course, and they’re absolutely amazing. Buttery Crispy outside, soft, warm inside. Just smashed my Swirl Latte and two croissants. Incredible. Apple turnover? Banging. Muffins? You can bet on it, my G. This place goes crazy. Always a perfect start to da day when I order here. Love y’all.

This was an awesome experience! Both employees were super polite and kind! Even though it was our first time, they made us feel like weve been there 1,000 times. The coffee was amazing! I got a white choc Americano and I didnt need to have it altered. It was perfect. I will definitely be coming back and I most certainly will recommend this place to friends, family or complete strangers. 😊 One of the employees heard why we came(because they had one of the highest reviews in the area) and he said, Wow, well I hope we will live up to that! I saw that they were a black owned coffee shop and I wanted to try it. It has the feel of any other coffee shop but it has soul. There’s black artist and other paintings on the walls. It’s nice. Due to COVID-19 regulations, you can’t sit down inside and only 2 people are allowed inside at all times. Mask are required or no service. The two ladies working were nice and very helpful.I got the iced coffee with caramel syrup and half and half. It taste great and I liked how smooth the coffee taste was. I also ordered the herbal tea unsweetened and a red velvet cookie. Highly recommend the tea though. It has the minty freshness to it that I really liked. All in all it’s great coffee shop. Hopefully when Rona is over, I will be able to sit inside and enjoy the scenery.

WONDERFUL PLACE!!!! Much better than Starbucks or any large franchise. Coffee tasted fresh and snacks were superb. I usually stop in when Im downtown which is at least 3 times a week and the owners definitely give me a good experience everyrime. I love this place and usually only get coffee from here!!! TRY THEM!

I was a first time visitor to Cincinnati from Canada and we happened upon this place while wandering around. Its a shame it was during covid since the staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond. Everyone working there clearly very proud of what they do, and that made a lasting impression. Thank you so much for making it such a positive experience for us -- well be back!(It also helps that the House blend is superb, a bit of a shame we only got one bag).

This coffee shop has a lot to offer in downtown Cincinnati. They make delicious coffee drinks and have solid breakfast options. The owners are hardworking and they are supportive of our communities homeless population which is near and dear to my heart.

Every time I get coffee here, the staff are very friendly, the shop is clean and attractive, and the coffee itself is excellent. The service is quick, too, so I know I can stop in for a quick drink if Im on a time crunch. Highly, highly recommend this place.

I like this place. Food options were limited but I didnt mind. Maybe once the pandemic is completely over, there will be more to choose from. My son and I got an iced coffee and a muffin. Will visit again soon.

I didn’t have time to stop and make myself a cup of coffee this morning so I decided to visit blaCk. I ordered a large drip coffee, “Wakanda”, and a warmed butter croissant. When I tell you this was the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a while, TUH! I mean it. The coffee was so good that I will now be implementing weekly coffee shop visits to blaCk and treat myself to a delicious cup of drip coffee. The croissant was heavenly, flaky and buttery and paired so well with my fruit bowl.The prices were great, the atmosphere was amazing, cleanliness was off the charts, and the professional warm demeanor enveloped me in a bear hug as soon as I walked in. I cannot recommend this coffee shop enough.

I’ve been trying to find the closest thing to this ‘caramel latte’ I had when I traveled to LA..well guess what? It is. If not better. Please make more vegan options. I will give you all of my money. Lol

The coffee is delicious and there are a lot of unique options! Have not tried the food yet but it looks delicious as well. If you go I highly suggest the lavender late, it will become your favorite!

I truly wish I could give blaCk coffee lounge a 20 star review. What a wonderful, hip-hop inspired vibe. Cant say enough good things about the baristas and their top-notch customer service! The carmel and chocolate swirled coffee and banana nut muffin were the bomb. I love supporting small, black-owned businesses. I will definitely return!

I enjoyed the chai tea latte. I appreciated the good location and good customer service. They are pretty good with protecting themselves and their patrons in terms of physical distancing during these times (fall 2020). Honestly, the drink I had was ten times better than anything I have ever had at starbucks. It tasted so fresh if that makes sense for a chai tea latte. Bonus as the cup I received was cute and decorative. When I return to the area I would plan to stop back for sure.

The vegan chai muffin I had was outstanding. And our group loved the real taste of their coffee drinks. They use Monin syrups which make all the difference and it was refreshing to have someone actually glad you choose their shop over someone else, customer service is an art and these ladies were so sweet. Sadly we couldnt sit inside and enjoy or time there, but it was worth going.

We were in the area for a couple days and we stopped here every morning. The employees were super friendly. They definitely deserve their high rating, if not more. Their coffee was amazing as well...hence why we returned each morning. 😎😉

Black Coffee never dissapoints. Even during a pandemic. Super friendly baristas. I always get a Chai tea latte with a pastry. Always delicious. Just what I need to keep me going while giving a boost of consistent familiarity. I take my order home obviously now or eat in the car, but the same, amazing smells of nutmeg swirling in my cup and savory taste of a warmed up pastry takes me back to those same good vibes I used to feel while sitting inside for hours studying. LOVE this place and the way they make me feel.

This place has an upbeat vibe. When I went it was busy and had that coffee shop hum. The service was excellent and both the coffee and juices were delightful. The juices are handmade and cold pressed in shop. Support your communities black owned businesses! Anytime I am downtown, this is must visit.

Working downtown Cincinnati, its not too many places you can go and feel comfortable. The woah ice coffee was great and the pesto fetta pasta was TOP of the charts. When walking in I was greeted and it was so WARM. Felt right at home.

OK this was my 1st time here. I was not sure what to get. They suggested some lemonade tea. I was skeptical but I figured if they suggested it it should be good. I was wrong. I will never try that again. However, I got 2 muffins because I couldnt resist the urge to try them both. I got the Vegan Chai and Vegan Pumpkin. They were both delicious 😋 but the Pumpkin was my favorite. There was a crust at the bottom and it was so moist. They both were moist but the pumpkin left the impression. I cant wait until the pandemic is over to i can fully experience the place. Go get the 🎃 muffin you will thank me for it.

I finally made it to blaCk Coffee! I always get a cappuccino at a new coffee shop & the one the baristas made me was PERFECT. I cannot wait to go back and try all of the different options they have to offer! The vibe of the lounge is super cool & Im really looking forward to the time (post social-distancing) that Ill be able to enjoy my coffee in the shop. In the meantime, the ladies who were there were doing and excellent job of maintaining appropriate distancing measures from the customers, wearing masks, and asking the customers do the same. I HIGHLY recommend getting your caffeine fix here.

Great atmosphere with nostalgic music

We love Black Coffee! The only issue we have is that we cant use our own cups/travel mugs and the throwaway cups are not recyclable or compostable. Other coffee shops will make the coffee in a small single serve carafe, then pour it into our cups without the need to touch anything. Otherwise, great coffee, great vibe, very friendly!

Their espresso is great. Not too bitter like many around the city. looks like a comfortable spot to chill out and drink coffee when the pandemic is under control.

Finally made my way down to otr to get coffee here and it was well worth it. the workers were so kind and patient, my bf barely drinks coffee and they helped him find a drink he ended up loving! very cool coffee shop, make the trip for it, it’s worth it.we both got iced coffee, mine was plain with vanilla and his was with caramel and heavy cream. tasted amazing, the coffee was so smooth. the trouble with most iced coffees is they end up super bitter but it wasn’t bitter at all! i just wish i lived closer so i could make a daily shop for me!

The staff is very friendly and patient. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Theres a very cozy, calming ambience as soon as you step in and the immediate area around is nice to sit and chat at. Prices are fair especially considering its a locally owned business.

Didnt have the best experienve here. In order to keep everyone safe, the business only allows two customets in at a time. Went here with a friend and was shivering outside in 40/45 degree weather. Two customers being helped ordered their drinks and began to drink them, then started browsing at the shirts and hoodies (which they ended up not purchasing). The enployees and the customers saw my friend and I waiting outside shivering for 7 + minutes, but did not care. We ended up leaving in shock and disappointment. I have visited several other coffee shop/cafe small businesses, and Black Coffee is by far has the strictest policies. I understand their goal to keep everyone safe but what I disagree with is being inconsiderate of customers waiting outside on the cold while others are just playing around inside after being served their drinks. I highly encourage they consider moving the rack of clothes outside near the tables whenever its not raining nor snowing so that customers can browse without holding up others who are serious about purchasing.
