I purchased my first Hyundai today, a Sonata Limited from the Hall Hyundai dealership on Western Branch Blvd in Chesapeake VA. Justin Champ was my salesperson. He was outstanding! I went to the dealership a couple weeks ago by way of Justins invitation. He is like family to me, so I trust his input. I was looking at other cars but when I saw the Sonata Limited with the tan trim, I fell in love; it was a done deal once I drove it. Beautiful ride! Justin is a consummate professional. He is most patient and is no pressure. I love that! He is a young man but does not shy away from closing the deal. He closed the deal with me and I am happy.,

I purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Elantra in October. Everyone at the dealership was nice, pleasant, and helpful. My experience felt personalized as we navigated through the buying process. I decided to purchase all the extra warranties, and I am glad I did. Two days after driving off the lot, my country road flattened one of the tires. It was an oyster shell. I threw the spare on, drove over to the closest Hyundai dealership, but they were not the most welcoming and wanted me to leave my car there overnight. I then called up my guys at Hall, the service associates were getting ready to go home for the day, but they stuck around until I arrived. The service department had it changed within minutes, again so nice and friendly. I also was stressed about my dogs being in the car as I was on my way to Richmond when this flat occurred. They welcomed the pups and allowed them to explore the dealership :)Thanks guys!

Service dept is horrible with limited to no customer service as a whole. Ive had more issues with my vehicle since my first repair here at Hall Hyundai Chesapeake. Just terrible and disappointing; HORRIBLE customer service at the service dept. The Service Manager (Steve) is horrible, with no customer service etiquette. I will travel 3hrs to Jacksonville, NC for good service from Hyundai. Jacksonville, NC crew is awesome! Miss those guys.

Dealer repairs are usually more expensive than local mechanics, but I have recently had good service from Hall so I brought them my Sonata for new brake pads and rotor resurfacing. There was an error in the resurfacing that caused brake chatter. When I brought the car back, they immediately identified the problem and corrected it by installing new rotors, no additional charge to me. I appreciate them standing by their work. I unfortunately bought a car from another dealer for my daughter who is new to the driving world. Shortly after pulling off the lot of that dealership we noticed the car which is a Hyundai Elantra was making a strange clunking noise when you pressed on the gas. We drove straight to Hyundai with only 10 min before service closed the service team gladly took a look at the car and told us the bad news that the car had engine damage... As you all could imagine this was extremely upsetting and my poor daughter was in tears. The wonderful team at Hyundai told us about a issue that was going on with the engines from that year of car and got it covered by Hyundai to be replaced thank the lord. So they kept the car took care of all of the cost yes it took some time but we couldnt be more happy in the end of a really bad dealership who did us extremely wrong.

Bought my car here at Hall. Excellent price and excellent sale personnel. It was a quick sale which I APPRECIATED!Had to get my oil changed so I took my car in without an appointment. They could not get me in right away so I had to call and make an appointment. They did not have any appointments within the week, so I had to take the car to another Hyundai Dealership near by. The service department manger did call me back which I appreciated.

Just have to say that this was the most pleasant and enjoyable car purchase that I have ever had anywhere. Justin and Kyle were the best ever. We explained what we wanted and our financial needs and within an hour were had test driven and been approved for the 2022 Tucson. Oh my what a gorgeous car. Peter in finance was so helpful and not pushy. He explained everything and we came away with a great price and car. This is how a car purchase is supposed to be. Thanks to the three of you. Sam was very helpful in getting us in for service and getting the three things we needed done. When we got the car back the airbag light was no longer intermittently coming on. They had wrapped the seat and steering wheel to keep it clean as well as a paper floor mat. Great experience!

Got an oil change at Hall on 9/7 and noticed on 9/11 the oil was leaking. When I first got my Hyundai Tucson and got an oil change back then at Hall, I ultimately had to get a new engine because it locked up due to the drain plug coming off at a certain point when I was driving a few weeks after. All the oil had drained onto the flatbed tow truck. Im not sure if I am ever going to have them change my oil again.

I was a few minutes late to my late afternoon appointment the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend when it seemed things were wrapping up for the day. The team was able to still take me and my oil change only took 20 minutes. I was really pleased with the accommodation given I wasnt on time and about the speed of the appointment. I used to go to Hall Hyundai Newport News, closer to my job, but since I am working from home the Chesapeake location is closer. I look forward to going there again in the future for my car needs!

My experience at Hall Hyundai Chesapeake is a favorable one. This is the second brand new car I have bought from them. My sales associate Kevin Thompson was exceptional. Not only did he provide great service but the also went above and beyond in making sure I did not have the same long and drawn out experience of my last purchase as before (4 hours). The fact that Kevin bought the car to my home, fully prepared paperwork, showing me the details and features of the car and follow-up calls made him one of my favorite people. During this time of Covid, it was important that we get in, make deal, and get out with as little stress with exposure to any possible contact. We were greeted outside and welcomed to the dealership. We felt very welcomed as the manager even recognized us from previous car deals (this was our third car purchased from Halls). Once we told what we desired in a car, we were immediately shown a few cars, one of which met our needs. Did a road test, talked about our financing, and were soon on our way home with our new Tucson. We have always been pleased with the service department with past cars and are sure will continue to be pleased with the service for our new car.

Mixed emotions on this Hall dealership. The sales and financing experience were not up to my experience with the Hall Newport News location, with having to wait months for some accessories that were included in our purchase but not actually in the vehicle. And, the financing department botched our loan and had to redo it weeks later. However, service has been smooth despite long lead time to schedule an appointment due to COVID; plan 3-4 weeks at this time.

We are going to ready the manual and try to get it to reset but it would have been helpful for the technician to have done it

I took my car in for a state inspection. Even though the car was not a Hyundai, the service rep was friendly and receptive. The other thing I did notice was that several other employees (hope they weren’t salesmen) would regularly pass right by you without saying hello or speaking. Maybe it was Covid related? Made me question their desire to create a car buying atmosphere. Nevertheless… My service rep was good.

I bought my car here with no problems. I needed a state inspection and oil change last year and was thrilled that they offered to come pick up my car and bring it back since I am high risk.I gently reminded the employee who brought my car back to please cover her mouth and nose with her mask as her nose was sticking out. She knew Im on chemo and immunocompromised. She took her mask off and yelled right in my face that her face isnt shaped right for her mask so she cant cover her nose.

Stop by Hall Hyundai to see if anyone was available to help me with CarPlay. I purchased my KONA out of state about a month ago. I live in Western branch and have always gone to this dealership for my car serviced needs. I pulled up, not barely out of my car, before someone came up and asked if I needed help. I have had a few bad experiences since I have been dealing with this dealerships service department. There is a disconnect between the service call center and the actual service department. I have to thank Megan and the other service female (so sorry forgot her name) for the excellent customer service they provided for me. Megan called me and explained everything that was going on with the car. She went above and beyond as a service rep. Megan I REALLY appreciate you!!!! I have had several complaints with one particular service rep and the service manager has always taken the time to assist, listen and solve the problem. I don’t know the service managers name but THANK YOU for all that you do to make sure your customers are satisfied and getting the service we deserve!! I appreciate you as well!!! The male service rep is rude and when I challenged several of his decisions and answers he blew me off and became argumentative. When I asked the male rep about a charge on my bill he couldn’t come up with an answer so he started throwing things out there of what the cost could be. When I asked for a breakdown of what he told me the cost was he blew me off. I know for now on I can’t do any form of business with this guy because he’s rude!!!! I can say the mechanics have done a wonderful job fixing my daughters car it rides smooth. We never have a problem after the car is fixed. Keep up the great work. Overall other than the make service rep I can say that I am a satisfied customer and will return. Worst place for warranty service! My son bought a sonata hybrid here and it has currently been in the shop 3 times for the same hybrid failure. He picked his car up last week after they had it for a month. Guess what, yesterday it showed the same hybrid failure! First time they just reset the indicators. Second time they supposedly fixed it. Third time they supposedly replaced the cooling pump for the hybrid system. Service manager is un responsive. Doesn’t answer or return phone calls in a timely fashion or in some instances not at all. VERY frustrating since I am a proud multiple Hyundai Santa Fe owner for almost 20 years and have loved Hyundai. I don’t know if this is a dealer ship issue or if this 2018 Sonata Hybrid is a bad apple. But you would expect better service and communication from the dealer where you bought the car!

Had a really bad experience with Hall Chrysler in Virginia Beach where they caused a pretty good amount of damage during a repair to my transmission cooler.Brought my car here hoping they would sort everything out for me. Sam was my service advisor and he went above and beyond. I received little to no communication about my vehicle while servicing at Hall Chrysler but came here and received an update almost every day. Sam was upfront and honest with me about the damage that was caused by their sister dealership and they handled it flawlessly. Their service manager even reached out to the other dealership because I was not getting anywhere with them. Took them a total of 2 weeks to fix all the damage caused and they even got me a loaner from enterprise when they did not have a loaner available (something I wasn’t even offered at Hall Chrysler). Sam apologized multiple times for something they weren’t even responsible for and didn’t cause, which is a lot more than I got with Hall Chrysler.I appreciate the honesty and time you took to fix my car. Thank you!!

Horrible place..Take my advice and take your vehicle to any other place to have service done on your vehicle. They never answer the phone and when they do the girl that works the desk knows absolutely nothing. My daughters car was there for almost 2 weeks and they so called did $1800 worth of work just for it not to make it out of the parking lot..I am telling you dont do it. Horrible place. Big lesson learned for us.

My car needed to be inspected and my airbag light was on which meant it wouldn’t pass. The young man who assisted me called to say my 10 year warranty expired 1 day ago but he found another warranty to cover the airbag service! Tears of joy! Have to say service experience has gone downhill, owned a 2016 Sonata for 4 years, every service appointment was great thanks to Sam our service advisor. In fact the summation of my complaints for those 4 years was the service tech kept setting the maintenance system to 3500 mile intervals when Hyundai clearly has 7500 mile maintenance requirement. Here at just six months (barely) of having a new Tucson I have had multiple issues with service dept. Chalking this up to a few things, first my service advisor isnt Sam anymore, and I miss his effectiveness and customer service style, new advisor struggles to answer my or my wifes questions. Second the the interface between the Hyundai care care function in Blue Link and the service dept, which brings me to #3 the one new service advisor couldnt explain and the app fails to clearly point out, complementary maintenance is only oil and filter + tire rotation....so when new service advisor cant quickly answer my question about being charged for something I thought complimentary, I get a little miffed. One time I can understand but today marked twice that the same scenario has played out with the first having to do with the service tech putting the wrong milage interval in (notice the trend). When we bought the Tucson it narrowly edged out a Rav4 at First Team Toyota, one of the reasons we went with the Tucson was the great experience with Hall in all facets from sales to service. These instances are quickly eroding that track record, and being on my second Tundra from First Team Toyota I know their game hasnt fallen off as much as Halls has

I went in with questions. I received answers and scheduled some work to be done to the vehicle. One item was a simple recall. The return appointment was over a week away. I arrived and left my car. I receive a call 6 hours later and am told I have to return because they need to order a part. The part should take about 2 days to get in. First, shouldnt the part have been ordered when I made the appointment? Second, I havent heard about the part anymore and its about a week later. This service department needs assistance.
