Boulder Vision Center saved my vacation!!!! I accidentally left my toiletry bag hanging on my bathroom door with all of my bathroom needs in it including my contacts while I was in Colorado for the week. I contacted the Boulder Vision Center and explained my dilemma to them and they were so nice and told me not to worry. They checked to see if they had my prescription and they did. She told me to come on and that she had them ready for me. I am so thankful for the young lady who took care of me at Boulder Vision Center! This place is fantastic on all levels. I made an appointment the day before and they were able to accommodate me. I had a small high eye lid issue which was thoroughly investigated and I decided to update my prescriptions as well. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and efficient.

During COVID times, I would not recommend this place. Someone was sitting waiting (inside) with their buff face covering around their neck, not at all covering their face. Another person had a mask on so loosely that I could see his nose and mouth; the person at the front desk did ask him put it on correctly, but they just dont seem to have good protocols. For example, they dont have a separate place for dirty/clean pens and are obviously struggling to enforce mask rules inside their shop. Hopefully, this review will help others who are concerned about such things.

My son Trenton Walker completely broke his glasses (he was at a concert moshing lol)So I took him in to see what could be done. I didnt get the names of the women that helped but they gave him brand new frames and it didnt cost a thing. Really grateful for the excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend them. Thank you so much.

Decent place. Attentive optometrists. They do thorough work. Not sure if the girl working the front when I went in the first time was having a bad day, but she was awkwardly impersonal. Everything else was great. Im sure shes nice too, hopefully it was just a one off situation.

I was a bit nervous in finding an eye doctor in Boulder. I had never worn glasses before and Im young so I dont really know how insurance works yet but they are so extremely helpful. Very kind, very friendly. When I go to get glasses they help me pick out a pair that looks nice. When I went in to get sunglasses they went above and beyond to make sure I found something I liked by ordering something offline. Lastly, when my frames broke I brought them in and they replaced it no questions asked no charge. That really makes me trust a place.

Dr Oneby is so informative. I learned more about my eyes in one appointment than I ever knew my whole life. The staff was excellent. Very helpful and kind and lovely to be around. They made sure I got the right contacts for my astigmatism as it’s been a decade and a half since I last wore them. Dare I say I enjoyed going to the doctor.

Staci always takes such great care of me... even found a pair of new frames that I was wanting online while I was back with Dr. Oneby getting my eye exam done. The team is fantastic! You bother vision center is amazing and they’re super friendly and super rock stars they’re always making you feel comfortable and being welcome when your the first time there and if you have a emergency they were the squeeze you in as emergency and get you right in for you don’t have any problems during the weekends

Dr Oneby and her crew are AMAZING! Not only did I get a thorough eye exam but they went above and beyond to find me a very hard-to-find eyeglass frame. I highly recommend this business!!

This was the first place I went to in Boulder and I loved it. Dr. Kristen Gurholt did a great job and answered all of my questions. Also, I didnt feel any kind of pressure to pick up a new pair of glasses even though my were dated and not quite what my prescription is now.I came in another time because I had dropped my sunglasses and they became bent. A gentleman fixed them for me even though I didnt purchase them there and there wasnt even a charge!

The interactions with Dr. Gurholt has always been wonderful, but her front office staff has gone downhill. She used to have great folks in the front office, but now Im not impressed. Were going to move on to another eye doctor.

I have known Dr. Oneby for years and was a patient when she used to work in Boulder years ago. Dr. Oneby is extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date, which makes me trust that she can quickly diagnose medical issues that could threaten my vision. She is friendly and has a good sense of humor.

Poor service, will not come back. I bought glasses here 2 years back and when one of the lens fell out they required me to pay for a new exam. I will take my business somewhere else.

The day I was leaving on a cross country road trip I woke up with a swollen eye unable to see. I dropped into the office on my way out of town and was worked in right away. Saved my trip!

Great service and a very friendly experience. Doctor was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.This office is inside of a Lens Crafters and I thought I might be pushed into purchasing frames and lenses there. Thankfully this was not the case. The staff at this Lens Crafters was friendly and took their time to show me a number of possible frames.I left with all the info I need to make a purchase without feeling pressured into returning to make it there.Overall a great experience.

We were so sad to learn Dr. Gurholt sold the practice. Our family has been with her for over 15 years. Shes been phenomenal and her staff has always been professional and wonderful to work with. We assumed we would receive the same level of service and care from the new staff and docs. We trust Dr. Gurholt, and are sure the docs she chose to take over her practice are excellent. However, we will never know. We had an awful experience with their office manager when I requested assistance for my sister who was visiting from out of town over the holidays. She forgot her spare pair of contact lenses and I remembered BVC had happily helped out another visiting family member with a new pair years ago. This time they wanted to charge a $26 dispensary fee. I asked the office manager if she would be willing to waive the fee since we were long-time customers and she said no. I had called another local business, in case BVC did not have my sisters prescribed lenses available. When the other business called me back to tell me they had the lenses in stock, they said there would be no fee. They give sample lenses out as a courtesy. They could not have been more pleasant. I even made sure to let them know that I was not a regular client with their business, just to be transparent, and they said not a problem. It was a service they were happy to provide. I have to say, that was customer service that was completely unexpected and so refreshing. I called BVC back to let them know a local competitor, who my family had absolutely no client relationship with, was willing to work with us and would she reconsider waiving the fee, again since we were loyal customers and I would much rather work with our own practice. It really wasnt about the fee, it was about her chance to show that we could continue to expect the same excellent care from BVC even though it was under new ownership. Unfortunately, things only got worse. I told her that given this experience and knowing there was another local business willing to go out of their way to help me, we would have to consider leaving BVC, even though we really, really would hate to leave because of our history there. I couldnt believe it, but she said, Ok, leave. Sadly, she then tried to twist things around and accused me of bullying her. Thats when I asked to speak to the doc, still hoping that we could resolve the situation. Again, it was not about the fee, it was about the customer service. She said I could try calling the following week, the doc wasnt in. I knew then that I would never be allowed to speak to the docs and that my only recourse would be to post a review online, which I told her, again to be transparent. Only then did she begrudgingly and rudely say she would give me the pair. It is unfortunate that the only thing that made her relent was knowing she would be called out on her behavior in a public forum. I really tried to give her every opportunity to do the right thing from a customer service standpoint, but she refused, even knowing there was a local competitor who was willing to help me and even knowing we had been with the practice over 15 years. Sad to leave, but hopefully someone at BVC will read this and help steer the business back in the right direction.
