I wish I could remember the name of the mechanic that helped me out but he had blond hair. I stopped by to buy a tube & CO2 for my road bike. He went above & beyond by cleaning my chain for me since it had excess build-up. I highly recommend this shop!

Timely and knowledgeable service and advice. Im a fairly experienced hom mechanic and used to work in shops, and go to Hank and Frank with newer tech stuff that Ive not had the time to learn, or tools to handle myself. Very pleased every time.

This place is great!!! Not sure if this is the same location we got our bikes at when we lived close by, regardless of that, I totally agree with what someone else mentioned. BMX bikes here you can find them and are great bikes.

Finally found my go to bike shop. Very fair prices and honest service. Staff is very knowledgeable and were able to quickly assess the problem and give me a reasonable quote. They were a bit busy the afternoon I brought it in but I was able to pick up my bike the next morning. Grateful to have found my spot.

Always liked these guys because of the large selection of BMX stuff whereas most places have none. Really solid mechanics, too, with a shorter turnaround time than most other local shops — especially in the age of coronavirus.

The folks at H&F have supported me and my bikes for several years. Theyre incredibly helpful, especially with small fixes. They often are able to provide advice over the phone to questions Ive had which no other shop in the east bay could answer. These people are knowledgeable and very connected with the east bay bike scene. Check them out.

I’ve had terrible experiences here on multiple occasions. This shop is definitely not what it use to be sadly. The clerks there are friendly most of the time but don’t let that fool you, they will not take care of your bike properly. Their price have shot way up in the past few years and the quality of their services have gone way down. If you do unfortunately decide to go to this “bike shop” make sure you thoroughly double check your bike when you first bring it in and when you get it back from them. Don’t be surprised if your bike is missing a few pieces that was on it before. I recommend biketopia but literally going to any bike shop is a much safer bet than going to this one.

I bought a Giant E-bike from Hank and Frank and I have loved both the bike and the service Ive gotten since. I ride by the shop on the way to and from work and often pop in to have them fix something for me (for example, I kept knocking off the fenders until I got used to them). Ive had my bike for a year and have upgraded components over time. Each time, the guys/gal at the shop have helped me make good choices including pedals and saddle. I highly recommend this shop.

Staff were sooooo helpful and friendly. I came in wanting to get a new bike post because I thought my current one didnt fit my seat, but then one of the staff reassured me it would, and kindly installed it for me. They were also super knowledgeable. Ill be definitely becoming back

So, I had two choices, take my bike back and have them fix it right, or just write this. Well, I didnt want to give it back to them so, here we are.My rear disc brake wasnt stopping the bike anymore and my gear shifter was slipping. The repair was supposed to take a couple days and it took a week. No big deal. When I went to pick up my bike, they had ordered and replaced two parts without telling/asking me that added $70 to the total. Kind of a big deal. Annnnnddd....my back break still doesnt stop the bike. Yeah....were done here.

Ive had a great experience with Hank & Franks - everyone Ive met there has been knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and patient. I bought a bike, some gear, and have taken it in for a safety check. Not to set a precedent, but they called me to pick it up days before they said it might be ready. After a less than amazing bike shop experience elsewhere, Hank & Franks is a welcome change!

Product knowledge and price points are equally important to me followed by solid customer service. Its more than a local bike shop its a community of people who care.I cannot imagine going anywhere else for my future bike needs.

Brought my bike in yesterday due to a rusted chain and messed up brakes. I came here after doing some research and was worried they’d try to nickel and dime for other issues or try to do an entire tune-up that I’m not prioritizing at the moment (I’m looking at you, REI).Got a call today saying my bike was ready. In and out for $50. I will be returning and I appreciate them not trying to add to the tab when it’s not necessary. Shop local and be rewarded!

Hank n Frank is one of the friendliest, least pretentious, awesome bike stores around. I always feel welcome here, and their staff is most knowledgeable. Theyll even special.order things when they can.

Mixed experience here - sometimes friendly and helpful, but more often Ive caught attitude in the too-cool-for-school mode

I walked in as a novice, totally ready for the up-sell and the pushy bike snob workers. I was actually caught off guard as we had a very informative conversation. They asked about my commute how often I would be riding what I was used to. It was great. Within :20 minutes we had narrowed it down to 3 bikes, 2 they had recommended and 1 I wanted to try. After tuning them up I took each bike for a spin around the block and was pleasantly surprised that their recommendations were not only spot on, but exactly what I should have been looking for!They actually worked pretty hard to find me the best deal (last years model, floor sale, etc.) and in the end came in under budget.I got a really sweet bike out of it and I would definitely recommend Hank & Frank Bicycles.
