I had an amazing experience here today! I didnt buy a bike but I took in my cheap bike for broken brakes. For 20$ I came out with a greased seat component, an added bike lock holder (I didnt have the tools to do it myself), fixed breaks, and adjusted handlebars. It was pretty dang remarkable. They worked for a good hour and a half and bam! I have a functional bike again. Thank you!!!

Absolutely fantastic experience buying my bike, related accessories, and service here. Nick, Sam, and others (bad with names, sorry!) made the experience very enjoyable. Everyone was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations and made me feel welcome. Ive already recommended the shop to some local friends and the Trek Factory stores to non-local friends!

Everyone was so helpful when I came into the store, it truly feels like the employees care. I asked a lot of questions and the gentleman who helped me was patient and answered them all. He had a lot of knowledge about the items that the store didnt carry and let me know that the item I was asking about could be ordered (a dog basket to carry my pup on my bike). He helped me pick out the accessories that I needed and then checked my bike into the shop to get everything mounted. My bike was done the next day and I met the store manager when I came by to pick up my bike. What a lovely human! I highly recommend this shop for ALL of your bike needs.

Handle bar swap with a new RSL integrated carbon combo from allow bars and stem done really well! Bike rides and handles even better.

Needed to fix the rear derailleur on my bike because of shifting problems. Took my bike to this shop and the employees were super nice and offered to take a look at my bike. Showed me exactly what was wrong with my derailleur and fixed it within a couple hours (at a reasonable price too). 10/10 would come again!

Im a relative newbie to the biking world, starting in 2018 and going car-less since February 3rd this year. On Wednesday, I got a flat on the way back to my North Berkeley home from an appointment in Berkeleys Tunnel Road area. Its a long walk. Your Downtown Berkeley store was the nearest place on my way home to get it fixed. Neal was at the front desk when I walked in, and was gracious in offering to fix the tire on-the-spot, oiling my chain, and candidly answering my questions. If hes indicative of the support customers regularly receive from all of your associates, then youve got a good thing going.

I really like Trek bikes. Its really nice and clean store. Well managed and well equipped. It was really nice to meet Carl and he is really friendly and he helped me to purchase by bike and further we got help to purchase another bike for my wife.

Bought three E-bikes in the last six months, two for me (road and MTB), one for my wife, great way to rediscover California. Trek team was always very supportive. Great advice and a lot of patience from Carl. Thanks.

I love Trek and have had great experiences with the San Ramon shop. Only reason for this review is because, more often than not, this shop doesn’t answer their phone and after a minute it goes to voicemail. I live in Oakland and I chose to purchase my bike from the San Ramon store because I could never figure out if the Berkeley store had the bike I wanted. I didn’t want to go to the store if I wasn’t sure if the bike I wanted was in stock. You guys are losing sales because you don’t pick up the phone!

Ella and Tyler were awesome. They squeezed me in near closing and I was very impressed with the service and expertise. They rock!

I bought a new mountain bike from Trek Bicycle Berkeley, since my local shops in SF didnt have what I wanted. I was given the best service and guidance imaginable by the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a bike shop. Despite living in SF, I will definitely come back to this shop for my next bike.

It had been a while since my last service and my bike needed a lot of work.David and Morgan went above and beyond to repair, service, and upgrade my bicycle. I drove from the Central Valley hoping they had the bike i was looking for. I get there the store is closed. A few min later The store owner walks up and confirms the store is closed but he was doing some work, After a quick chat he lets me look at the bike and I purchased it right then. This Store is a Model Trek Store! Visited mid July, an older gentleman seemed to be the manager or owner was super helpful. I came back 2 weeks later. I was helped by ({Ella) She was very helpful. (I Thought customer service was Dead!) Not at Berkeley Trek! I ended up buying a Bontrager helmet, 4 inner tubes, tools etc. she was very patient, kind young lady. I live 4 cities away. I will always put forth effort to drive there just because of cleanliness, neatness and customer service. Always a good experience. Many rude shops out there.Thanks Berkeley Trek!

I am a frequent cyclist (road bike) and occasional MTB rider and have been spending a fair amount of time in various bike shops around the Bay area in the recent years. Trek Berkeley is by far the best of them. Past the awesome Trek bikes (I love my Domane SLR 6 -- see photo), they provide a highly personalized service with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store is also quite nice with cool bikes and gear that is always fun to browse. Needless to say theyre expensive but I believe quality can hardly be cheap. Recently, my bike had a break issue and had to stay there for a couple of weeks awaiting 3rd party parts. They gave me a Checkpoint (Treks gravel bike) as a loaner which I had fun riding -- another great bike.

David W was amazing! Im so lucky to have worked with him in getting my first bike. He was very patient, informative, supportive and hard working! Trek in Berkeley has amazing bikes but unbelievable folks who work there!

Well designed, quality plus affordable, based in the US, and they look cool. The folks in the store were welcoming and knew their stuff.

I had a great experience with all the staff. For instance, when I interrupted Karl, the mechanic, while he was working on anothers bike, he immediately disengaged with the work at hand, and answered my questions politely and thoughtfully, despite my know-it-all attitude (good advice too). Its often difficult to cross-train bike mechanics or non-sales staff to handle customer service issues, and I was particularly impressed with this interaction. I was greeted promptly upon walking into the shop both times I visited, and the sales staff were all polite and helpful. Daniel also helped me pick out some parts for my Roscoe, and I found him knowledgeable and sensitive to my budget needs. When I begged for a cheaper part, he was quick to look further without a hint of snobbery.I was a hospitality professional for a couple decades, and I was impressed with the total purchase experience and want to leave a kind word for the staff.Incidentally, the bike is a great deal and Ive enjoyed riding it so far.

Had a very easy experience buying my bike a few years ago at this location. I needed a new helmet and didn’t want to purchase online. It was really easy - found a helmet on their website, purchased it over the phone from a store associate and I biked over there to pick it up. They did a great job managing the people outside and keeping up social distancing.

I love everything about your products and services. From day one I have had the best experience with Trek. You guys helped me to pick out the perfect bike, have been super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with everything from purchasing accessories to answering every question I have about maintaining and enjoying my bike. Great service!Went in late on a Sunday looking for a more comfortable saddle for my Trek Hybrid. No problem! Carl helped me choose the right saddle which has turned out perfect. Also picked up a couple of accessories, and they worked out perfect as well.Will be back again for sure.

Worked with Matt to service my Trek Fuel EX 8. Matt was super helpful and understanding of my budget. If you have a Trek- I definitely recommend coming into this shop instead of a Mike’s Bikes. Their specialized knowledge makes a difference.

Absolutely terrible service. I waited outside on a line while a lady was on the phone forever before telling us that they had to bring bikes out to you. She then disappeared back into the shop. Anouther guy came out to spray the lube on a wheel outside presumably because you don’t want it in a closed space right in front of us as we stood in the line. I left because it seemed like they seem to have found a perfect way to neglect the customer.

Unpopular opinion: typical LBS are snobbish, overpriced and dont always do a quality job.Trek Bicycles in Berkeley is an anomaly, and Tyler and Hawk are awesome.

Carl here is great! He helped me get my trek Crockett set up with some tubeless tires, dropper post, and gave the whole thing a tune up! He answered all my questions along the way and gave me a bunch of tips on maintenance going forward. The candid answers to my questions and quick honest service is why I keep coming back here!

The staff here are superb. I went in on a sleepy Saturday afternoon to get my handlebars adjusted and poke around the store, and both folks who helped me were kind, funny, and helpful. I look forward to returning for additional gear!

These have to be the best bike mechanics in Berkeley. I’ve never trusted anyone more than David Wilcox at Trek Berkeley. They lean on his name a little and they should, but if you care about your bike like I do, I don’t understand why you’d let anyone else touch it. They should give him a raise to make sure he doesn’t bolt! I won’t forgive them if he ever does... thanks again David for making it brand new every time

Have been riding Trek mountain bikes for the last 8 years. My mountain biking started in the early 90s and of all the bikes owned Trek is number one for me. My newest ride, the Slash, is amazing. It destroys whatever is thrown at it as if it were nothing. Responsive, stable, light and nimble. I’m amazed at how much the technology has improved since my last purchase and that just shows me that Trek is top and staying up top. Can’t think of any other brand I’d ride. Trek is number one in my book.The guys and gals at the shop are awesome. Extremely helpfulAnd knowledgeable about their products. Would definitely say if your looking for any type of bike this is the place to go!

The staff is friendly and helpful. As a woman who, like many women, often feels excluded from bike spaces/shops or talked down to, this shop is a refreshing change. They also have a nice selection of bikes and gear.

David Wilcox and the other guys working when I visited were fantastic — they did a damage assessment on my bike after it was hit by a car and helped me with the insurance claim. They took time out of their day to help me out, and I’ll remember their great customer service — all were so polite, professional, and empathetic. I’ll be sure to send folks their way in the future.

Came in today to buy a bike, and the sales staff was totally useless. The sales girl had no idea how to fit a bike. Sent me out with a loose seat, and without showing me how it worked. Save your $1000s and go somewhere else.

I just purchased a new bike from the Trek shop and it was a top notch experience from start to finish. My bike was stolen and while I was still reeling from the lost I visited the Trek store in Berkeley. To start the store is beautiful, clean, spacious and the mechanic area is open with a bar type seating to watch your bike get worked on. I was originally helped by Ned, who was awesome. Friendly helpfully but in no way pushy. I visited the shop multiple times and had the same positive experience with the shop Manager Carl and Aaron. These guys even felt bad about my bike being stolen and let me borrow a really nice bike for the weekend. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the market for a new bike or bike accessories.

David went above and beyond to help me. We needed a derailer hanger that only Trek Authorized Retailers would carry and none of the stores within 60 miles of San Jose had it. Although this location did not have the part either, David offered a solution that no one else thought of or could offer. We appreciate David’s effort tremendously! When I came in to pick up the part, the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Honestly my favorite cycle shop in town. Even if youre not running or interested in running a trek bike they have great soft and hard goods and the staff is super excited to talk about all aspects of cycling from commuting to mountain biking.

Stopped by the shop this evening with a bike maintenance problem. The customer service representstive, Erin, was very helpful & knowledgeable. Identified the problem instantly, grabbed his tools, and had my bike back up & running within 5 minutes! I was very impressed. Oh my god what an experience going to trek in Berkeley. The staff Aaron, Samy, and Carl were so knowledgeable and helpful. I never tried an electric assist bike I’ve been biking my whole life and after trying one of their trek bikes with full suspension mountain bike it’s was amazingly fun and worth it!If getting up those hills are any problem, knee problems, or ever winded just use the turbo.It’s the angel taking up there.Put this on your list of things to buy this year and start feeling the rush on mountain trails or just around town it’s a game changer.

I had my high-end road bike serviced here and can not recommend this place enough.I was having an issue with the drivetrain on my Canyon. While most other shops I called couldn’t even take a look at my bike for another week, Trek was able to make time for me the same day. Boy am I glad I came here. The issue turned out to be more serious than I thought, and David, the tech who helped me, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He explained exactly what was going on, and what I should do to prevent the issue in the future. I needed a new SRAM Red cassette, chain, brake pads and rotors, all of which they had in stock. I also needed a new freehub, which they had to order but was delivered the next day. Turnaround time was super fast. They had my bike ready the same day the part came.

Trek on Shattuck has great, down to earth staff thats very helpful and kind. Theyre the reason I go here, and the location is convenient too . If they dont have a product in stock, theyre happy to order it for you too.

I had a problem with my wheel breaking spokes on a fairly new bike. Not only did they take care of it they hooked me up with a better wheel than the original.
