My car was making a noise. The local tire place said it wasn’t the suspension. They said it was a muffler heat shield. I stopped by Midas and the gentleman working in the office dropped what he was working on to check my car. I did not have an appointment. He quickly put the car on the lift and checked it over. He couldn’t find anything wrong with the heat shield but helped me figure out it was the tools in the spare tire compartment. He didn’t charge me. He went above and beyond!! I will have Midas do any muffler work on any of our cars. Thank you!

I had a axle seal blow out on me causing gear lube to get onto my passenger side rear brakes. Making the rear brakes not work.. this is no good with the snow that was coming down before Thanksgiving.. So the guys at the shop took care of me and my truck.

Back in 06, some Bend, OR hustler sold me a used vehicle which proceeded to have a radiator hemmorage within minutes RIGHT IN FRONT OF THIS MIDAS SHOP. Since it was a Sunday, I left the car in the parking lot with a note and the keys and left. When I returned, I paid a bill for $600 for a new radiator, then promptly went across the street to a regular mechanical shop for more work on other parts of the car. The guy there told me he would have put in a new radiator for 250 bucks!

Went into Midas to have my AC diagnosed. Ian & Chris both were very candid with the cost of the repair. The price to install a new ac compressor was very reasonable. Also the install was done so promptly. Appreciate the team at Midas and will be back if I need more repairs done in the future.Ac is blowing snowflakes again!Thanks guys

The integrity of this shop is hard to beat! I am Always treated fairly here. The quotes from all the other muffler shops in Bend were outrageous, like they were selling gold-plated exhaust systems! Midas did excellent work for me! Easily the best shop in town for muffler work. They also handle my tire repair work at this shop.

I have taken all my vehicles to Midas in Bend for years and I love them! They are always honest and never push any services on me that I dont need or want. They have also always gotten my cars in and out in the same day which is so awesome and not the norm for a lot of places in town. I took my truck to them recently and after three of their techs drove it and couldnt find an issue, they called to let me know and didnt charge me a dime for their time/effort. FANTASTIC customer service in my experiences. They will without doubt continue to be my first choice for vehicle maintenance.

The manager was very nice, patient in explaining the needed repairs, and even charged me less than expected due to not needed all the parts. My truck was done before expected, too! Rip off and LIARS!! They lied about there work and i took it to another repair shop and they told me midas didnt even touch what was done. I knew because it ran the same when i paid the bill and knew something wasnt right. Midas gave me some BS excuse about to get the codes checked. I asked if they would give a refund they said NO!!! DO NOT TAKE IT FOR REPAIRS, they should be shut down.

BEST EXHAUST SHOP IN TOWN! QUALITY SERVICE AND QUALITY PEOPLE! Not sure what Russell down there is talking about, Ive been coming here for years and have always been treated right. With that said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and people are more likely to write a review based on a negative experience over a positive one sadly. For me personally, I couldnt say enough good about the crew, always friendly and over-the-top helpful. My wife and I wont take our cars anywhere else here in Central Oregon. A+

000 triple zero rating! These people are horrible! They do not take full responsibility for your vehicle. My car was broken into at their place of business and my window was broken, another vehicle got broken into and had a broken window as well but that vehicle was found in the back of their building unrepaired. This is what I can tell you, they did not file a police report nor did the owner of the other vehicle. I was the only one who filed a police report. It makes no sense to not file a police report! UNLESS they committed the robbery! That is what doesnt make sense! I had something valuable in my vehicle that only Midas couldve found, and although I quickly went back to retrieve it, my car was already robbed, mind you only Midas had access to knowing what was in my car and also had my car on their property. In the mean time they broke my heater core, never fixed my broken window when they said they would, and they would not file an insurance claim. This was all over replacing a starter, which I stopped service for because I was not going to let them damage my car more. The worst part is that they didnt care at all about any of this! It has been a terribly devastating and horrific situation that was never resolved! I would suggest no one go there EVER!! I am on Google if youd like pictures for proof!

Just an FYI: They dont accept corporate coupons, so if you get a discount oil change coupon in the mail, they wont take it. That being said, their oil change prices are cheaper than the regular price of the oil-change-only places. Owner guy at front counter is nice and friendly and will talk your ear off if you let him.

Called and asked if they would put on pair of after market front shocks on my f250 because I didnt have the tools as I was able to do my rear ones. Quoted $50 and when they did it they had to torch my old ones off. Price remained $50. Hands down best service I have ever had with any vehicle and will be coming back. They purchase bottom end mufflers from the auto parts house next door and then sell them to you as a top quality muffler and justify it by saying that people are buying the warranty not the muffler. Midas brand mufflers are a much better quality part than the tradh they install.

I came in for an oil Change and I was approached by a gentleman who stated that he would not do an oil change after 3:00 p.m. Apparently, Even though they close at 5:00 p.m. they are unwilling to do an oil change and are very rude about their approach. May i recommend Havoline on Greenwood for better, and more friendly service.

The service seemed fine, but when it came to putting the repair through my warranty it turned into a hell thats still going on. First they said they were in contact with my warranty company which seemed to be a lie. Then when I tried to put it through myself I found that my invoice was not itemized and didnt even have my VIN listed. Ive been trying to get a corrected invoice from them for months now, finally putting a claim through to their corporate office because at this point their ducking my calls (even pretending to be other people on the phone). When I first went there and found out the expense of the repair I planned to go to the dealer for the warranty (I would have had to wait a few days though), they convinced me to just go through them and that I shouldnt have any problem with the warranty. If youre paying completely out of pocket and in a pinch its probably not a bad place, but if you care at all about the character of the people you are dealing with avoid like the plague.

Closed Mondays! My jeep had the shakes anytime over 40 mph. I went to Midas on a Monday and they were closed, however the owner happened to stop by the shop quick. He asked if he could help me and I described the problem. He suggested that I go to Discount Tire and get my tires balanced. It fixed the problem! The guy who answered the phone Miguel seemed put off, when I asked his name, and said I would have to bring my car in for a qoute. I just wanted a round figure. BEFORE I towed my car there. We had emergency repairs on one of our Installation vehicles. The problem was much greater than we thought. Brakes and rotors all damaged by driving when the pads had worn out. The owner Raul took point and got our truck through in just hours, fully repaired. This was absolutely critical as the vehicle not working took one of our teams offline, So they made sure we got everyone working again as soon as possible.

What a joke this place is I had an appointment for a week to get an estimate done and was told they could look at it and get me a price and could do it the same day in just a couple hours. I dropped my Tahoe off at 8:30 for my appointment didnt get a call it came around 10:15 I called and they said they havent even looked at it yet???!! WTF then I get told they will call me back and I talked to the guy and he says I dont know who you talked to you but this is like a 5-6 hour job blah blah and he would have to call around to see if he could even find a muffler...So I say ok well can you call around and see if you can find the muffler and would you be able to do it today? I had a good experience in this store. The owner was there and talked to me while I waited for my car and I observed him giving an elderly man a free service. The man seemed so suprised and insisted on paying for their time but the owner refused and said he would take the mans returning business as payment. As for my car, the oil was changed in a timely manner and for a great price. Ill return to their shop again

Awful, stay away. He would not honor lifetime warranty after axle failed in 6 months. Would not refund money or schedule repair. Told me I cant help you and hung up on me. Im left with suing him, which I am going to do after the repair is completed by another shop. Check the BBB listings before you come here, I wish I had.

Never, I repeat never go here. You will bring it in for one problem, then all of a sudden there is hundreds of dollars of new repairs that they say are needed but that are not. Rauol no longer checks his employees work. In fact he is rarely ever there. His crew are scammers and not to be trusted. In my opinion they will tamper with your vehicle just so you have to come back soon now to have the things they said were now wrong. Raoul is closing shop soon so he obviously doesnt care anymore about his reputation, business, and especially doesnt care about his customers. I do have a suggestion for a loyal, trustworthy mechanic in town. Just message me for that name. Midas you suck and are scamming your customers and finding some legal loophole to do so. You have been in business for a long time and probably have been doing this for who knows how long. Only you know. Over time this has made you an expert on loopholes and false repairs that point to not the shotty jobs your doing but to that sometimes when you fix one thing then you find out something else needs fixing. You are the worst kind of crook taking peoples hard earned money to soon retire in luxury with mansions and mutitudes of different vehicles when you send your customers home broke and barely able to survive. I wish I could put zero stars. Absolutely horrible customer service. I walked in and asked for an oil change, the guy at the front desk was extremely rude to me. He said they dont have time for my vehicle. I then asked if I can purchase an oil filter so I could change my oil myself, he copped an attitude and said why dont you walk over there and buy one as he pointed to an auto parts store. Midas of Bend will scam you in any way possible. I brought my vehicle in to get the brakes checked after hearing some squeaking. I was informed over the phone that I would need new brakes etc. on the front and back of the vehicle totaling over $500. I then informed them that I had the lifetime warranty, from them, on both the front and back so it would not be a problem. When I arrived they told me that they must of made a mistake and that only the front needed replacing and now only the pads were bad. Hmmm?

I went into Les Schwab because when I was with my son driving and the bakes felt a little squishy. I was told at Les Schwab that I needed all 4 brake pads and calipers. They told me the Rotors were perfectly fine. I then called around and I talked to someone at Midas who told me that they could beat Les Schwabs price by $200. I made an appointment for Wednesday to take it in. After I went back to get it they charged me $200 more and said they also replaced the rotors. I was so upset, I asked for the Rotors but I think they gave me someone elses because I took them to Les Schwab to the same guy who saw me two days prior and he said that he couldnt say anything for sure because he had to protect himself and the company but off the record he said he didnt think those were my rotors. He said if those were mine, I should have been hearing a metal to metal sound when I brake and I never heard that not even once. He also looked at my so called new rotors and said that he didnt think they looked new. I dont think they ever replaced them and I think they are crooked. I know I didnt need rotors. I have written a letter to the owner and I am turning them into the Better Business Bureau today. I will tell as many people as I can never to go there!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!

I would give negative stars if I couldI was referred by a co-worker to this shop, I decided to go for it. After spending $400 on calipers, brakes and oil, a week later, I found my oil filter was completely loose and lost about a quart of oil. I contacted them about the issue and all I got was a sorry. Next, hoping for some redemption, I asked for a quote on my Rack and Pinion replacement (ironically going out after being in their shop), thinking they would say Well, we botched the first attempt with this guy, well try to keep him coming back. I received nothing of this sort. Being in business myself, I believe in quality work and customer service. These guys dont care. Im highly dissatisfied and would never recommend anyone going here.Im going add to this review today.I just took my truck to Les Schwab to have my the Lug bolts replaced because Raul and his crew cross threaded every bolt they removed and tightened them so tight that they sheared completely off. This was an additional $150 cost to an already expensive trip to this horrendous shop. I honestly cannot believe this shop is in business.I am going to add yet ANOTHER review today.After going through all this, a complaint to the BBB, I just had another Lug Bolt snap from the rear driver side. This shop has caused me so much trouble, time and money. Im blown away that these guys are still in business. Not only did I have to fix the oil filter, I had to replace all 12 front lug bolts and now after one breaking off while driving, I will be replacing the rear 12.Absolutely unbelievable

I drove in looking for a routine brake inspection. When they finished inspecting and took my car down, my breaks no longer worked. And in fact, when I went to back up, my breaks didnt work at all and I ran into the curb behind me. They took the car back and lifted it up telling me I was going to have to pay $750 to fix everything. I had to call my father to come help me get my car back. When we tried to take my car away, the mechanic lifted it up just enough that we couldnt drive it away and wouldnt let us take it. My father had to lower the lift so we could drive it next door and fill it back up with the break fluid that they drained. Horrible horrible people.

I had been going to them for three years and did trust what the owner Raul said on repairs. However I brought my car in for a timing belt change (before any issues came up). They did the service, stating my water pump, timing belt and cams seals had been replaced and sent me on my way. Not knowing any better (to make sure the job was done right) I drove my car for 7 months and suddenly one night something exploded in my engine. I did not drive over a 100000 miles in my car, nor did I mistreat it. I have been great about repairs. I had it towed to Midas and the didnt call me until 4 oclock the next day to say the cam seal had blown and they didnt know why. They had then looked up a used engine for me and told me it would cost $3600 to change it over and replace ITs timing belt. This shouldnt have blown less then 7 months later, nor did they offer to cover the cost of parts that should still be under warranty.I had it towed to a mechanic recommended to me by many friends who said he would take a look at it and at the worst by it for parts. He took it apart and told me the idler had exploded and that the tensioner and idler had not been replaced like they should have been. Most mechanics give you this option or just replace it because to have one of those blown out is the same as having the timing belt break. He told me it would run me about $2500 to repair the damage caused by this.I wanted Midas to pay for at the very least the timing belt, water pump, cam seals, idler and tensioner as well as this mechanics labor. I approached both kieth and raul the owner. He told me that an idler wasnt part of the kit, that it wasnt required to change either of them and said they tested the tensioner and it was fine. I was never informed about them testing the tensioner and had I actually been given a choice on a bit more expense to make sure this didnt happen I would have chose to have those parts replaced. He then told me that the idler had a ball bearing failure and that wasnt their fault. I told them that there mechanics were cutting corners and that the parts should be under warranty. The owner just told me no, thats not true. I said I will be pursuing this farther and he welcomed it and said it wouldnt matter.They also tend to keep all paper work when you come in with problems to them and I have overheard numerous conversations while waiting in their office where they couldnt find paper work on peoples cars. I also overheard a mechanic get in trouble because he put a brake pad on upside down and the car was back in for repairs. I question the quality of their work and I now know why it cost me almost $300 less to get my repairs for my timing belt here.I called corporate twice as well as emailed them and two week later I have yet to actually get a call back. I will now be pursuing this in small claims court for negligent work. This should not have happened and at the very least they should have fixed what they caused to break in the first place.I would not take your vehicles here at all.

These guys seem to be only motivated to sell more, charge more, and do not perform the work that they sell you properly. I took my pickup to them to have them evaluate the rear drum brakes, and they informed me that the shoes, drums and wheel cylinders needed to be replaced, which surprised me, at a cost of $451.94. Unfortunately, they had kept the truck all day, and I needed it for work the next morning, so I acquiesced and had them do the work and paid for it. They said that the front brakes were fine, and had 50%+ remaining on the pads, and that theWhen I picked it up, it was clear that something was not right with the new rear brakes. I drove it about 100 miles and then made an appointment to take it back in after speaking with them about what I was experiencing. The guy indicated that they would make it right, and that if I could get it to them early the next day, they would evaluate it first thing. The truck was there at 7:45am.At 11:00am, I called, and got Keith, who evidently answers the phone when the owner is out. He was rude and condescending to me on the phone when I asked if they had any update for me, saying Well call you when we get to it. I heard back from the owner, who was nicer, and informed me that they were behind schedule because they had a truck stuck on their lift.I finally heard back from Keith again at 1:00pm. He told me that he recommended replacing the front disc brake pads and machining the front rotors, with no mention of the rear drum brakes at all. I then told him that the truck was not there to be evaluated for the front brakes (which they had previously told me were fine), but it was the rear brakes that they needed to look at. His response was that the rear drums needed to be machined. These are the NEW drums they sold me, keep in mind.At this point, theyve still got my truck and Raul, the owner, says Ill put it right, which he well may, but Ill NOT be returning to Midas anytime in the future. In all fairness, Ill update this at the end of this process dealing with Midas here in Bend, Oregon.UPDATE: I spoke with Raul, the owner, finally. He was confident that he could take care of the issue. He ended up replacing the new drums that they had installed with new drums. I cant confirm that is the case, but that is what he said, despite Keith trying to convince me that machining the new drums that were warped would be sufficient. I told them that I preferred new drums, as that was what I had paid for.The brakes are great now after the second round of service, and two days without my truck.Note: The front brakes are fine, despite the recommendation by Keith that the brakes be done when I brought the truck back to Midas complaining of the rear brakes not functioning properly after the $450+ in service. It really makes me wonder if my drums needed replaced in the first place!!! It turned a $172 service into a $450+ service real fast...Raul stood by his promise to beat any Les Schwab estimate by 10% and refunded me $49.22 today. He is a gentleman, no doubt, but I cant help but still think that theres a VERY good chance that I didnt need new drums. Ill not return to Midas. Les Schwab, like they say, has been Doing the right thing since 1952, and Ill take my business back there next time.

Dont ever take your vehicle to midas of Bend. They are swindling crooks!!! They do offer cheap work but will nickel and dime you for made up problems they find. My experience: I was told I had a manifold leak both sides of the engine and a bad catalytic converter after oil change and was warned not to take vehicle on trip till problems were fixed. Total cost $1600!!! Took my Vehicle to Custom Exhaust Specialists in Bend and was advised there was one small leak on the right side manifold rated as a .01 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst. The catalytic converter was tested three different ways and was found to have NO problem what so ever. CES advised absolutely no work on the exhaust system necessary. In sitting at midas for three hours i witnessed almost every customer that came in being advised that there was something else wrong with there vehicle that needed to be fixed other than what they brought there vehicle in for. DO NOT TRUST them!!!!!

Long story short, Manager Kevin was very rude throughout every experience I had with this shop, Kevin gave me a receipt for a service different from service I received and I had to go back and get receipt corrected, my car was damaged in parking lot and owner Raul volunteered to pay for damage. When I pursued this with a quote from the body shop where Raul sent me, he refused to respond to messages left or emails sent. I involved the Corporate Office and there was nothing they could do to assist. Last time I called the Bend location to leave a message I was threatened by employee Rob who told me Raul would be suing me for harassment for leaving too many messages. I still have not heard from Raul after three weeks of trying to get a hold of him by phone, email, and through the Corporate Office.Please know that I am in the business of customer service and I know that it is not always a pleasant job. HORRIBLE MANAGER RAUL. Egotistical, arrogant & rude. Needed about $2,000 of service (Brakes/Mufflers @ Motorhome) and he chased me out. Hmmm????Ask him to explain it... I cant!!

Crappie service on hour job turned into three hours and more then twice the quoted price. Needed a break disk and my breaks bleed they replace things that didnt need it. And they didnt fix it properly

They did the brake job on my 2009 Range Rover (4 rotors, pads and clips, sensors ) saved me lots of money ! They even picked me up from my work when it was done. 😀
