Absolute Professionals,After calling around to 6 highly rated shops around town and being turned down for it possibly being a transmission replacement or being told it will take at least three weeks for them to even look at my car, I decided to reach out to CAPS Transmission via email.Mr. Alan who is the manager reached out to me in timely manner and gave me a honest estimate of a transmission replacement. What sold me was his willingness to trouble shoot to make sure it was the transmission. All other shops immediately told me it will be a transmission replacement when I went into detail on what was wrong and ignored my observation of a leaking fluid.Alan and his team accepted my car which I had to tow outside of business hours, once they came into work I got a phone call saying they trouble shot it to a leaking line and repaired it. Also test drove it and looked at the transmission. What was going to be a $3,600+ repair ended up being a line fix/fluid for a fraction of that cost. Why? Because they went above and beyond on diagnoses. A honest mechanic shop that wants people to get back on the road. I dont usually write reviews but CAPS Transmission absolutely deserves a shout out.
Great place to get transmission worked on. And great prices
I was not charged for a diagnostic test. Very honest on issues concerning my vehicle.
An honest and knowledgeable repair shop.I shopped around to find a transmission specialist in BR and found CAPS Transmission. The shop lived up to its great reviews. The owner (Allen) was straightforward and helpful. He ended up sending me on my way without paying a nickel after finding a small issue and resolving it. Had there been a more significant issue I wholeheartedly trust the price would have been fair.Ill be taking my business to CAPS Transmission in the future should our family have transmission issues.
Without a doubt the best place for your transmission in Baton Rouge. I was in a dire emergency to get my LSU daughters jeep towed and fixed in 24 hours so I could catch a plane home. They got it done with hours to spare. It was done right and done fast. They are honest and the price was hundreds cheaper than other estimates. If your student is at LSU and has transmission troubles... fear not these folks treat you like family.
Fast and efficient service will recommend
Wonderful service, kind people. Honest about repairs needed.
Mr. Allen is the best. Great serve.
I am very happy with the service. They fixed my ol baby right up! I have a 2004 Ford F150 truck and she is running great now!
Allen was very helpful! We are from Florida and broke down. He was so nice to get our vehicle towed to his shop and repaired the transmission for us! Very happy with his professionalism and knowledge. Thank you so much!
Clean work
I had an occurrence with my car with what I thought was issues with the transmission. So I took it to CAPS Transmission to have it checked out. The manager, Alan, courteously had his staff inspect it. Come to find out that the only things needed was a transmission fluid change, pan cleaned, filter, gasket, o-ring and seal replacement. I was relieved that there was nothing seriously wrong with the transmission. Also, it was brought to my attention about an issue with the power steering system; unfortunately, they dont perform repairs in that particular area. In any respect, kudos to Alan and his staff for A-1 superior maintenance and customer service. The cost was reasonable, as well. For anyone seeking transmission service for their vehicle, I wholeheartedly recommend CAPS Transmission.Alfred B.
Very polite, caring and knowledgeable staff. They were fairly priced. I had a great experience.
Didnt Wana help me
Best transmission repair shop in town. Fair pricing and good warranty on all work. They even did extra work at no charge just to make it right. Cant recommend enough!
Allan is very honest in his work and very friendly. Love to revisit him.
I brought my SUV to CAPS back in Late August of 2018. They kept my car for almost a month, 3.5 weeks to be exact, and once I got it, they did not hook up the accelerator correctly making me unable to go more than 30mph in Baton Rouge traffic. I brought my vehicle again to them recently and not only did their warranty not hold up, but after getting my car back after 2 weeks, coincidentally as Mr. Allen said, the cell of my battery was now bad. I bought my vehicle brand new, and yes they do the repairs, but you dont know their diligence or what other problems they will cause you. Overall be ready to fork out a minimum of 2 grand for your transmission and the rest of the car troubles CAPS transmission causes.
Went there yesterday when my car starting acting funny when it shifted gears. They were SUPER friendly. Ran tests on my car, figured out what the problem was, but told me they no longer make the part. He asked if i felt if i could pull a part from a junk yard. No problem. Then gave me instructions how i could fix it myself in a few minutes (I am not afraid of a car). Then he declined payment for checking out my car. Total cost of my repair- $2 and 5 min.! Thank you for not trying to take advantage of me because I am female! Definitely Recommend!!!
Best honest guy in baton r I have dealt with. My whole transmission fixed really fast. Helped me out. Will definitely go back !!!
Had transmission trouble on the road with a VW Vanagon. Stopped to seek assistance and was greeted by Alan. They took the vehicle in immediately and diagnosed it. Due to parts availability I choose to trailer the vehicle home. Was VERY impressed by the courteous service.
Dropped a transmission into my Cadillac in half a day. Thats right, a Cadillac. Superb service, superb customer service. Highly recommended.
Knowledgeable mechanics reasonable prices.reasonable turn around took about a week to get my truck fixed.
Excellent customer service, very knowledgeable crew. Id recommend CAPS to anyone unsure whats going on with their transmission.
Only fixed what was broken. Honest
I cannot say enough good things about our experience with CAPS Transmission repair. They provide knowledgeable, professional, honest and caring service for your transmission. Yes – caring. I know it sounds weird to say that these days but Allan, the owner, is Number 1 when it comes to customer service. We had our transmission rebuilt at a fair price, in a short time, with a warranty. Now that I have told you the outcome, let me tell you about our experience here.We were traveling from Houston to New Orleans when our 2006 Honda Odyssey started acting up on I-10. It was like you took it out of gear while driving down the interstate, then the speedometer would stop working and it would coast to a stop. Once stopped, it would go again and as long as you kept it under 50 mph it was fine. Well, the check engine light was on so we went to a nearby Autozone and had them read the code. The code reader said it was a mismatched speed signal from the speed sensor to the output shaft. So the guy at the counter told us there was a transmission shop just up the street. Well, (luckily for us) we never found it. I got out my iPhone and searched transmission repair. I read a few reviews when I stumbled onto CAPS. I remember reading it and saying either this place is really good or they write their own reviews! So after making our way to CAPS we meet Allan (the Owner) and told him our story and he said he would try to do everything he could to get us back on the road today. It was Friday afternoon. He tried to find a new sensor for the van but could not get one until Monday, which meet we would have to stay in Baton Rouge over the week end. So then he set out to find a used one, which he was able to do. They test drove the van and came with bad news - the trans would have to be rebuilt!I would just like to tell you while we were waiting for them to diagnose our problem and we were waiting in the lobby I could hear other customers call as well as come in - Allan was honest and concerned for every customer he dealt with. In fact one elderly lady who had come in to make a payment for her repair expressed her regret for being late with the payment and was having a hard time coming up with the money. I heard Allan tell not to worry about any more payments, that they were even as far as he was concerned. It’s very hard to find someplace to take your car into to have a repair done and not worry whether or not they are going to rip you off or do the job right. Well, this is that place. I only wish they were located in Houston, near us, instead of Baton Rouge! Thanks for taking care of us Allan! It was our pleasure to do business with you.The Rainwater’s
