I take our Mercedes and BMW here for everything I need. It’s a very personable, family like atmosphere. They do what needs to be done and don’t overcharge. If you want really good work done at a reasonable price with no nonsense, go see them.

I bought a vintage BMW from an OCD owner out of town that highly recommended that I have it maintained at the best BMW mechanics in Austin at Terry Sayther Automotive. Ive been taking it there for routine maintenance, including oil changes for probably over 15 years. The crew at TS exceeds my expectations EVERY times I’m there - either with my 2008 X5 or my son’s 2009 Mini Cooper. I appreciate the ease and simplicity of dropping off the cars anytime - weekends or nights, and a call from TS comes promptly to next day to discuss the work. An online diagnostic report is sent soon after, which gives me time to think about my options on repair. I appreciate the patience and detailed explanations of repair options the whole crew at TS shows- especially Rett and Nicole, both of whom I have dealt with the past 6-7 years. I took my Mini in for some brake works and general maintenance and was amazed at the professionalism and honesty of the crew at Terry Sayther. When they were pulling the car into the bay, they heard a screeching sound and asked to run a diagnostic. They spent a lot of time looking the vehicle over, but when there didnt appear to be a critical issue, they only charged me for the brake work. This is also the first shop Ive taken my vehicle to that hasnt recommended I change my oil before its actually due. All in all, great group of people working here, and a great local business.

9/9/2021 Saythers BMW is better than going to a Dealership for Repairs! They do very professional and quality work at a reasonable price. I just purchased my 2007 BMW Z4 Black on Black convertible (one owner) with only 65,000 miles. I wanted it checked out thoroughly before I started driving it. They checked it out did not find any major problems and kept in touch with me on a regular bases. Nicole is great on her job and on top of warranties too. Amazing customer service. I simply called to get information about a Range Rover I’m about to purchase and the mechanic who answered the phone spent at least 15min w me giving me a heads up and run down of what to expect. This is so rare these days. They don’t know me at all and spent their valuable time on me with no agenda other than helping a fellow human. This was amazing and extremely refreshing. Super helpful and everyone was very nice. They got to my sons car very quickly, and called and text with updates. They were very communicative and I felt they were very honest with the repairs as well. I would definitely recommend, and will be using them in the future for routine maintenance.

I took my BMW E30 in for a clutch problem and could not be more satisfied with the experience. The vintage vehicle inspection report they offer is great and it comes with photographs of any issues. On the clutch, they identified the problem and a couple of other items, gave me an estimate before starting work and stuck to the estimate when the work was done. And the work was done when they said it would be. The car drives like its brand new (the clutch and transmission, anyway). I have been slowly and carefully restoring the car myself for over 5 years and have always been wary of taking it in to mechanics or dealerships. I did not have the time nor the tools for a clutch job at the moment so I was very pleased to find these guys.

Had to fix the drivers side BMW 2005 window regulator. Regulator was replaced before, and was still under warranty. Terry Saythers honored the warranty. Fixed free of charge. Excellent service. Great shop.

Diagnosing check engine light issues can be complicated. While the initial diagnosis/work did not resolve the underlying problem my car had, the bottom line is - Terry Saythers found the correct issue when I took my car back. Nicole called, explained the diagnosis and said they were fixing it for free. This type of honest communication and accountability can be hard to find nowadays.

This shop was referred to me by a co-worker and long time friend, as they were always able to rebuild his 318i after whatever catastrophe, one time in particular it was washed down Shoal Creek in one of Austins famous floods. They are always on the mark and never any high pressure sales as I have encountered at other shops. My 25 year old Z3 had multiple issues with leaking differential and leaking valve cover gasket. All is well now and I am on the road again. Rhett and Nicole have taken good care of me each time and just so refreshing to know I have someone in my corner when I comes to any repair or maintenance. I recently moved from Chicago to the south Austin area. I drive a 2015 BMW 425xi and its my pride and joy! I was concerned about finding a great place to have my car serviced that wasnt overpriced or trying to pull one over on me. Often times when I take my vehicle in for one service, there are several other issues that emerge that need to be fixed. Well, look no further if you find this gem! It was super easy to book my appointment online. From the drop-off to the pick up, the experience was exceptional! The staff is friendly, polite and informative. I went in for an oil change and came out with only an oil change. They did do a full diagnostic on my vehicle to let me know what services are coming down the pike, but arent immediately necessarily. I took my 1980 BMW 320i to them to convert it from the OEM mechanical fuel injection to a Weber carb set up and to install a set of headers. The car had not had a major service in over six years and they found a lot of items that needed to be addressed in addition to the services that I initially requested. Duncan and Rhett worked with me to prioritize the work that needed to be done and did everything that they could to keep costs down while still performing exceptional work.The car is now in better shape than I ever would have hoped and is performing exceptionally well. I could not be more pleased and would highly recommend them to anyone needing work on a BMW, especially a vintage model. They are great people and they truly love cars. I will definitely be taking my vehicle back to them for additional updates and improvements in the future!

I cannot say enough good things about Terry Sayther Automotive. They did a used car check for me for a car I was in the process of buying. Not only did they not charge me for the inspection, they said it was not a good buy. It needed $3000 worth of work. They could have lied, and gotten to do all that work later. Instead, they were honest and got me out of a bad deal. I still have my other Mini and am a loyal customer. They are amazing!!

Honest mechanics. I went for an oil change, new brake pads, and brake fluid. They changed my oil, flushed my brake fluid, and explained that I didn’t need brake pads yet. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t sell me something I didn’t need even though I asked for it. Definitely going back when I need car care.

Best Mini specialist in town. Fixed my mini cooper in no time. The car drives like a dream again. For comparison: I took the car to another place first - they spent 4 months on my car only to tell me they have no idea what was wrong. This tells you how much more professional this place compares to the other.

He took time to explain why another shop told me I might be on the verge of a major repair, then explained why he thought differently. A couple tests and small fixes later, and Im good to go. Love this place. The staff is incredibly knowledgable and provide the most transparent experience I have had at a mechanic. My favorite part is the digital inspection that’s sent to you while your car is in the shop, it gives you a full rundown of what is going on with your car, letting you know what you may want to keep an eye on and includes photos so you can actually see what’s going on.

Found my new shop! My misfires are all fixed and I’m thrilled with the quality of oil they put in my N54 engine! These guys are the only ones I trust besides myself to work on my car. Only place I am going to take my BMW for now on. Terry Saythers Auto are not the type of car people most repair shops came to be. These people want your service and will not charge for what’s not needed. Example, BMW of S Austin on 35 said I needed the bottom oil pan gasket changed for $1350. Well that’s a second opinion money, so I found Terry Sayther Auto, they spent two hours look over on the car with detail discrepancy description. So, the oil pan is not urgent plus BMW of Austin charged $200 dollars for the same type of service that Saythers Auto done for free.And the kicker is, prices are around 20 percent cheaper. Saythers a no brainer. Be confident about your repairs at Sathers Auto.

These guys are freakin awesome! I brought my Mini Cooper to another mechanic last year for the same service I received from Terry’s, $800 and obviously did fix said problem. Took my Mini Cooper to Terry’s not only was the price reasonable ($210) my Mini Cooper runs smooth! I am recommending them to all my friends and family with BMW or Mini Coopers!

My car had been broken into and the passenger window was shattered. After getting an extremely high quote from dealership I reached out to Terrys Automotive and Nicole was so helpful with quick information and details to get my window fixed for almost half of the cost I was quoted. It was completed in half a day and they were super friendly, efficient and easy to work with. I will definitely go back should I need work on my BMW - Highly recommend!

Terry Sayther Auto has been a very good service provide for my 13 year old Range Rover. But this week, I was a little confused with the service.I took the car in for a repair of a hole in one of my tires as a result of a screw. I had my spare tire on the car when I arrived to their service center, but after repairing the tire and putting it back on the car, they were unable to get the spare back to its holding place under the rear of the car. Said the trailer hitch impeded their work even though I was able to get it off ok. So they put the spare in my trunk and I will now be left with the job of putting it back on. I figure that if the trailer hitch didnt impede getting it off, it shouldnt impede getting it back on. I will find out soon enough, and maybe in the end, they will be right.

Thanks to Rhett for the great customer service. I ended up not wanting to go through with the suggested repair, but the shop took good care of me through the whole towing, diagnostic, and deliberation process.

Went in for a simple oil change and but got more in return. They diagnosed my vehicle and fixed a couple missing things in the engine bay and even sent me pictures and diagnostic data of things I needed to fix or add. Really good service and friendly people.

I found this shop on the internet. They are a specialist shop servicing BWW, Mini & Range Rover. I emailed them a question and after about 2 days, including the weekend I received a response. A family member started a brake job on my Mini and couldnt finish. They gave me a quick estimate and also said they would use my parts. After a full inspection they found that my rear rotors were bad. I will say the price was a bit higher than expected but it is a Mini Cooper S R57 Convertible. Job was complete in 2 days and the car is perfect. Very professional, curious, knowledgeable.

Took my car there cause the steering wheel wasn’t operating well ! After diagnostic test been told it will be 889 +150 fare price for BMW WITH THE 10 days wait on part! 10 days later called me again it’s 770 more ! Upon request to give me the part so I can go to the dealership & see if that can fix it! I called in a panic because my wheel was cracked on my X3 and I didn’t have a spare. Nichole answered and was lovely, super helpful and knowledgeable. She made the process easy and already had the contact for a service that repairs wheels. I left my car and picked it up in a few days with a wheel that looks like new. Plus, as a first time customer, I got a discount for my oil change! The company even went above and beyond with inspecting my vehicle and I received a detailed report of their findings via text! I love this company. They have an incredible staff thats hard working, on the ball, communicative and super helpful. Theyre generous with the little extras - like if they see your tire pressure is low they top you off while theyre fixing your car up. They have been super impressive with how they have integrated technology through their experience so everything is very digitized, streamlined and easy to engage with them (they text you updates, car vitals, payment link, etc). All around recommend them 10/10 and I will work with them always over going to the BMW dealer!

For some reason my coupe woudnt start soon after BMW sent a Tech out to the house to replace the steering whel bag, at no additional charge. As always, top notch and highly profressional service at Terrys shop. I left the car overnight for an airbag warning light and the no start issue. I had the bags replaced through BMW USA house call, but the warning light came on soon after the install. It turns out, we had to replace the key to resolve the no start issue. The turnaround time for the repair was very reasonable. Terrys shop has always been above and beyond the dealerships...more thorough than most. No wonder BMW enthusists acrss the globe are familiar with this Austin icon. I also had a similar issue with my sedan, but it turns out the bag in the driver seat is just worn and probably flattened from age. I did get a new steering wheel bag using BMWs at home service. Attempting to report or have a local BMW assist with these issues was a real pain in da boot. Resolution....called the best.
