If youre like me, once you find a good mechanic you will follow them to end of the earth and back. Ive used Mike Lilley to repair every single vehicle I have ever owned. I love that he has found such a great shop to be at and continue to grow with. He has always been very upfront about all my car needs. This shop is amazing!

This place is great, they take the time to explain everything, even showing me what is wrong on my car so that I could understand. Mike and the guy are Awesome. If anyone wants an automotive repair, don’t consider going to this place. They have zero customer service and no consideration for customers time. When I arrived at around 9:00 am they said service will take up to 2 hrs but 3hrs and half my car still not serviced when I asked mike said a couple minutes yet I see other vehicles being serviced. I sensed color discrimination so I didn’t bother to ask, I just took my business somewhere else. So avoid this place unless you want to be disappointed and west your time.

I dropped my car off for a week and picked it up my car was in worst condition when I dropped it off. The initial repair or concern was my a/c not blowing cold air when I picked it up it was blowing no air. I repeatedly called the shop to get no answer I was told I have to consult with my carlot I had to end up paying g for the repair out of pocket and I still owe 800 for the repair

This is where I always go for anything I cant do myself. The guys at Excalibur are pros, theyre honest, and they do excellent work. I highly recommend this shop.

Mike at Excalibur fixed my headlamp in about two minutes, no wait. He knew exactly what to do and was very clear about everything. Everyone at Excalibur was very smart and communicative so I knew what was going on. I am coming back to Excalibur for my brakes next year because I know I can trust them. Really great work, guys!The car is a 2006 Honda CR-V. For reference, other technicians I asked could not cope with the layout of parts behind the lamp and were unable to even remove the bulb. Mike did it with one hand in under a minute. Hes an expert!

Took a chance on an honest face. Seriously. True story. And was rewarded with excellent service and no nonsense advice. I usually do my own work but do not work on my transmission or ac partially because I dont have the tools or lift. Actually its because I know very little about ac having come from somewhere where air conditioning is not needed.They took my non working system and had it blowing snow while I waited. And for less than $200. They also included at no charge solid advice on this and other issues and great conversation. A professional shop manned by professionals. A little off the beaten path but well worth the trip.I hope I never have any more issues but now have a go to place if I do.

I have been in Austin for nearly 15 years and during that time, I have been to many auto repair places and mechanics. Ive been coming to Excalibur for about the past year and no longer need to shop around. The work Ive had done on my car is always excellent and done quickly. Most importantly, the staff is honest and fair. I like that they pride themselves on being honest. At Excalibur, theyve never tried to trick me into extra services or pressure me to buy something I didnt need. They seem to genuinely treat people the way they would want to be treated, and for that, they have earned my trust and business for years to come.

After clearing up a little initial confusion due to miscommunication, I was able to drop my car off that morning and picked it up that afternoon with a nice cool, working AC. And they didnt try to pressure me into any other or unnecessary repairs. Also, when I picked up my car, I met the owner who provided a free oil change card because theyd forgotten to put the glove compartment back. This review is late coming so I apologize for that. These guys are great, they are professional, courteous, and fast, they are also very personable. We recently moved here from another state, not only were they quick with the inspection, but they gave us a road map on the vehicle registration process in Texas. I found this place when I did a Google search for places to get a State Inspection for my car and this place had great ratings. And I have to say, they were well deserved. The staff at Excalibur were super friendly! The inspection was great and I didnt have to wait forever to get in. Ill definitely be going back for more inspections in the future and if I ever have any car repairs. Fingers crossed that doesnt have to happen but if it does, I know my car will be taken care of

They found out what was making a light not work from a previous oil change (some wires had been melted but working right before getting oil change at Walmart... I love this place. The staff is always nice and friendly. They are the real deal. Very honest and upfront about everything. I know they do a good job. I reviewed this mechanic shop a couple of months ago with 5 stars and wrote “trustworthy mechanic,” but I’d like to expand on that review.The first time I needed a repair, this shop repaired it within one day for several hundreds less than a car shop down the street quoted me. Then, I had another issue, and the store manager (owner perhaps?) told me that the repair wouldn’t be worth the expense, after explaining the pros and the cons of the getting the repair.I appreciate the superb customer service and honesty, along with the reasonable prices.

When I took my car in for a state inspection, the guys at Excalibur let me know about an issue they saw. I just took it in to have them further investigate it further. They were friendly and fair in their pricing. They were able to take care of the repairs on my one day off. I feel better knowing there’s a warranty with the work done and that they didn’t take advantage of me because I’m a woman that doesn’t know much about cars.

I called this place this morning to schedule two car inspections. Michael got us on the schedule at set times and got us in instantly upon arrival, which showed that they appreciate us as customers, something very important to somebody with three children under two. Other shops wanted us to wait in first-come, first-serve lines.While I was there, I needed help printing proof of insurance for my registration, which Michael did for me happily. I went for a car inspection after going to 2 jiffy lubes that had no one to do a inspection. As soon I finish giving them my car info a young mas was able to do the inspection and within 15 min i was ready to go. Great service.

After having a nightmare of an experience with another mechanic I called around town getting quotes and a feel for the mechanics over the phone. After my first phone call from Excalibur I was impressed, though I dont know much about auto mechanics, still I do know what my car is doing and I need the mechanics to hear me out and their expertise to explain things for me. Thats exactly what they did at Excalibur, they gave me the best quote in town, gave me a receipt with the breakdown of repairs. Best of all my car is riding like a brand-new car! This is a no nonsense, very professional, reasonably priced mechanic. You are not going to beat their services or prices. Now I can have some long overdue work done to my car finally!

I took my car in for squeaky brakes. Very basic, told that theres some dust, get it cleaned, everything seems on the up and up. Next day Im driving to work and my brakes go out!! I barely made it safely. Took my car to another mechanic and it turns out that these guys tightened my brakes so hard that they were constantly rubbing and overheated. Are you kidding me? Absolute worst experience. And my BRAKES STILL SQUEAK.

Miscommunication all day with this place. I scheduled an appointment online the night before, for the next day. I didn’t hear back from anyone about my appointment by morning, so I called and was told I had to drop my truck off for a couple of hours. No problem, I live nearby and bike around, so no big deal. Four hours later I called to see how a diagnostic test on my AC and a general analysis of the overall health of my vehicle was going. They said they got busy and couldn’t call me. Okay. I got a call shortly there after, and was given the information I needed with one major exception. I rode my bike back up there and was told he forgot to tell me there was no oil in the truck due to a gasket leak over time. Then I asked if they could do an oil change, as I was past due by a hundred plus miles. I rode back home. Five minutes to closing time, two hours later, I called to see how it was going. They said they got hectic and could just top off my tank with oil or change the oil. I asked them to change the oil, again. I went up there and was told that it was going to be $60. They put synthetic oil in there without asking me. It’s a 2004, and I always get asked. It slipped by me and I ended paying twice as much as I normally do. If just would have been nice to have been important enough to be seen as important as the things that got them so busy and hectic to not communicate and service my truck as initially instructed.

I use Excalibur for a fleet account and personal business. Brad is a great owner who works well with customers. The best thing about the shop is that you can trust them. They are willing to tell you what needs to be done now and what can wait without pressure. Brad is also offering a discount for Emergency Service workers now.

You never have to wonder if theyre going to do unnecessary work to make a quick buck- theyre only going to fix what needs fixing. Theyre also fast and affordable. Weve been going to them for years, but they still manage to impress.I dont think Ive ever seen a five-star auto shop on Google before Excalibur, but these guys have earned it.

This was the second time we’ve used this shop for a vehicle repair. A year or so ago our car a/c issue was diagnosed, repaired, and completely repaired as promised and way quicker than expected. We recently brought another vehicle with a very concerning noise coming from underneath the vehicle. My husband said the shop was very busy when he just showed up there on a Friday afternoon without calling ahead. Even with a busy shop, Mr. Brad agreed to make some arrangements so he could take a look at our vehicle a little later that same day. Mr. Brad made several efforts to pinpoint the source of the creaking noise. It was even difficult for us to tell if it was a front or rear end noise. Mr James also tried to help Mr. Brad with researching what some of the known problems that might be involved with other similar vehicles. Although running out of time for the day, they still tried to isolate the noise with various lubricant & water techniques, and even tried wrenching a few bolts. Mr. Brad asked me if he could spend more time on with the vehicle to do a more methodical check on suspension at our earliest convenience the following Monday. We dropped our vehicle off fist thing today, and then received a call about an hour later. Mr. James explained the noise, the fix, and the most interesting way they were able to locate the source of the noise. We were very relieved, and even more pleased to learn the fix was minor and not a major repair. We feel the shop treats the customer as if we are the most important part of their day to day business. They were upfront with us when explaining their time challenges, but clearly explained how they could help us in way that took our own time challenges into consideration as well. We feel Brad and James were patient, honest, friendly, and they genuinely took pride in making their customers vehicles right again. We highly recommend this shop for great service and repair. We trust this shop.

These are the nicest mechanics ever! Not only are they nice guys, they fix it right, for a fair price, with all questions answered. I have a 2009 BMW 128i and every time Ive gone to Excalibur to get service done, theyve done an absolutely fantastic job and have completed it at a cheaper cost than the competition. One of the first times I ever went in, I had some issues with the plastic undercarriage of my BMW. Not only did Excalibur diagnose the problem for free, but since it was a relatively quick job they even fixed it for free on the spot.Really cant say enough about the entire staff here. I CAN say that I wont bring my vehicles to anyone else!

I was in maybe a month ago for multiple issues I needed fixed. They really worked hard to save me money. They found a technical service bulletin for a faulty part in my car that was causing one of my issues and tried to help me see if I could get the part replaced from a manufacturers service station for free. I also needed a battery replaced and they found the battery was still under warranty so they got that replaced for free. They hate losing business, especially if its price. I had a lot to get done so I called around to compare prices, found a service station that was a bit cheaper. I wasnt gonna say anything to them, but they pried when I wasnt getting everything fixed there. Since it was around the holidays and my car was already there, they matched the price I was quoted at to make things more convenient for me (also so they wouldnt lose business but hey, it was still nice). Would definitely recommend.

I had the most awesome experience at Excalibur Repair. Not once but twice they fixed this plastic thing that was loose under my car and rubbed against my tire. Clayton wouldnt even charge me. My friends, Nancy and John recommended me to Excalibur Auto Repair and from now on they are my people! Long story but worth the read.I waited until all of my repairs were done for a month before writing this review. My Ford Escape experienced some trouble with the brake sounds and had uneven tire pressure which was causing lots of upkeep. The noise was startling so took car to Firestone near my house. They had their engineer drive and verify the problem with my car and deemed it unsafe to drive, even though I had driven my car there. They quoted me 3,000 dollars for a part that did not match the description so looked at other shops that could help. I saw Excalibur and they were willing to take a look at my car and advised me on what they thought.Firestone refused to release my car because it was unsafe to drive. I threatened to call the cops and they still refused unless I signed a waiver releasing them of any pending lawsuits. I refused and got a tow truck to get my car to Excalibur. I even recorded audio of the Firestone employees with their advice and false recommendations.Excalibur went OUT OF THEIR WAY, drove to Firestone to be an advocate for me, ensure I was taken care of. Worked with me through the next few days to get the correct diagnostic, correct part, and quick turnaround. all for 2,000 less than I was quoted.It has been a month and a half and my car is running perfectly for a much more effective fix than Firestone was advising. Best car repair service I have experienced and have just moved to Austin so will keep with them for my car needs. If anyone has any questions on my experience, please use me as a reference or reply with questions. 100% recommend them for anything you need or even need a quality second opinion.Good luck.

Let me tell you, these guys know what theyre doing. Great, friendly customer service with knowledgeable and straight forward guys. I have brought my dinky little car in at least three times already (three different problems with it) and every time Brad and his team never disappoint. I tell them what issues Im having and theyll diagnose the problem. Then theyll explain to me what the gameplan is and will update me every step of the way. Even with something as simple as a state inspection, or with something a little more detailed as replacing a tie rod, they will always try to make sure that we are on the same page and ensure that I understand what they are doing to my car and why.Because they consistently do a great job with their work, often times they are fully booked for the day. I would recommend you make an appointment online or over the phone ahead of time, otherwise they may be unable to accommodate you last minute if you walk-in.Anytime anyone asks me for a shop recommendation, I refer them to Excalibur!

We love this place. Theyre professional,honest and super fast. We dropped our car off, went to work and shortly afterwards, they call and tell us our car is ready. Wow. We have never... EVER had any of our cars serviced so quickly.This could have been a stressful ordeal, but James was so nice, it disarmed me.Thanks so much, we are loyal customers.
