If it were possible to give more stars, then I would absolutely do so. This was my first experience at Northwest Imports, and it was fantastic. I recently purchased a slightly used car, and after taking it to a dealership for initial inspection and oil change, which was exorbitantly expensive, I was told by the dealership I would need to do a recommended service. Their cost for that service was nearly $3,000 but after giving Northwest Imports an opportunity to repeat the inspection, I was told that would not be required as there were only 8,000 miles on the car and all the systems looked good. They also let me know that their cost for the service when it became necessary would be significantly less. Their inspection was complementary, the service was fantastic, and they were highly professional. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you to both Bob and Andrew for the great service.

Just got done with a very confusing and disappointing email exchange with Bob a service Client Advisor. Besides not taking the time to read what I was asking, Im left dumbfounded at their service policies.I understand as a life long amateur mechanic and car enthusiast, that diagnosing and repairing cars is a difficult business. However, when a vehicle make and model has a known and common issue based on engine codes and service alerts, it makes no sense that a shop as astute and well regarded as NWI cannot provide an estimate to repair said known issue without spending the better part of the day to bring it in for pointless diagnoses work that could end up to be 1/3 of the cost of the repair. Especially when any dealer will hard quote the repair, as well as many other Euro focuses shops in town.But that is exactly their policy, no diagnoses fee, no deal. Makes me question whether they would try to charge me a diagnostic fee for figuring out what oil change or brakes I need. More likely though... they just dont want potential customers to shop around for the most fair and reasonable rates, and instead get you in their shop where it is easier to get the work done on the spot than to take your car to a second place that will do the same work for a more reasonable and transparent charge.You cant argue with the reviews, just their business model and refusal to provide estimates, let alone quotes.Edited to address owners response:Your response does not address the simple fact that the repair I requested an estimate for is a known issue for my make and model, and having just received my 3rd quote from other mechanics, there is no reason you cannot provide an estimate regardless if that is the problem my car has or not. If I know what you would charge to fix the known issue, then Id would happily pay a diagnostic fee before you started work. That makes sense, flatly refusing to tell me how much my brake change, or fuel filter replacement, or etc etc will cost me if that is the issue is just lack of transparency or shady business practice.Yes, I did not use your service as I clearly stated, because you cannot provide clear and transparent pricing for known repairs upfront, and your argument that you need to diagnose a known repair doesnt add up given 100,000s of quality repair shops do exactly that.

I used Northwest Import several years ago and can speak well of the quality service they provide. This recent service covered a long list so I was also impressed and very appreciative of the amount of time spent discussing and prioritizing the work, then recieving a detailed written estimate.Further as they inspected the engine and various other components, they took the time to reassess the list of priorities with me and then proceeded accordingly. Extensive work was then completed in a very efficient and professional manner. All in all it was a very good experience.

I went to Northwest Imports as a result of a pull and a noise in my car after the repair by a body repair shop. After a test drive, an early an accurate diagnosis was made as to the multiple causes. The repairs were made quickly and I am very pleased.

Easy drop off. Loved the summary report. Very thorough, but not pushy. Made recommendations for future work. Accurately estimated work time. Seamless pick-up. Got me back on the road quickly.

North West Imports is the best mechanic shop in all of Austin. As an Austin Transplant with a (very) used Mercedes-Benz, it was important that I found a reliable, affordable and trustworthy car shop. Though my car wasn’t worth much, the mechanics still treat it with respect and care upon each drop-off. The staff are excellent, the turnover is quick and the rates are honest. If you have a foreign car, domestic car or anything on four wheels, take it here!

The team at NW Imports did a great job keeping me update on the status on the vehicle. With texts messages and calls. My BMW vehicle has been serviced at car dealership, but I moved feom out of town and found the reviews to be top notch. I gave it a try. The work done was a brake fluid flush, electrical pump on windshield washer, oil gasket leak replacement. I felt secure that these were the problems and they were addressed. It has a 3 year warranty. Hoping the services continue with good quality work, that lasts, so I can bring my car back for future services.

Fantastic place. Gave me an appointment within a couple of days, knew just what to do, were ver open to questions. Dealership had told me I needed new rear brakes, they looked and said Car is still ok for a while. So happy I found them, they are my mechanic for life!!

I found Northwest Imports through a Google Search and was very impressed with their service. I called in for an appointment for an oil change on a 2019 Audi A4. I had some questions about pricing and while they didnt have the pricing immediately as they needed to look it up; they promised to call me back with the info as soon as possible. I got a callback within a couple of hours and I was able to schedule an appointment. When I showed up with the car, everything was smooth and quick. I was in and out within an hour. The service was excellent and pricing very reasonable. I would surely use them again.

Trustworthy and detailed recommendations of repairs (I took 8 maintence items out of 11; 3 were just not totally necessary just yet and they mentioned that under their personal recommendations). Took in a 16 year old Porsche Boxster for some random fixes... a new key/remote, trunk latch cable, wipers, logo center wheel caps... some odd requests that typically have to go thru the dealership... they made it all happen, my vehicle was kept clean and safe, and the communication was excellent. they even handled an oil change and inspection i didnt realize I needed- after checking that it was ok to perform all services and pricing was right on target! Will definitely use them next time I need anything!

I was looking to try a new place for repairs on my Mini Coupe and tried Northwest Imports. The job was taking longer than planned and the price was increasing because of a broken connecting part. It was feeling like just another gouge-the-customer repair shop. I wondered how NW Imports got such good reviews. Then I found out. The owner, David, gave me a break on the broken part and made it all right in the end, without any prodding from me. He was kind and considerate and did the right thing. At the end of the day I left the shop feeling uplifted and better about mankind. There are good people out there and Davids one. I will be going back.

They are not cheap and they are not fast, but they do a great job and they are honest. More than I can say for multiple BMW dealerships I have been to. Mercedes had engine issues. They did an excellent job and on time. They are not the cheapest place in town but provide expert mechanic work. The amazing thing is they warranty their engine work 3 years/36,000 miles. I left with confidence that my engine problem was resolved. I will go back. They can resolve those difficult problems German cars have.

Craig rebuilt the engine of my 1974 Porsche 914 in 1985, and has been maintaining the car ever since. I expect it to last many more years under his care! I take it in once a year for its annual checkup, and occasionally for a particular problem. I tell David to do whatever is needed and call me when it’s done. Never had a problem with them doing anything that wasn’t necessary or charging more than I thought it should cost. I highly recommend Northwest Imports. Thank you, David and Craig.

David and his crew did a fantastic job on my Mercedes Benz E350. I had a rebuilt engine and new transmission. He worked with with my warranty company through the entire process. When things got sticky he actually mediating with the rental company. They even stayed late to finished up my car so i didnt have to wait another day. I highly recommend checking them out fir all your import needs. Youll find it to be a pleasant experience as I did.

Honest service, inspection, and advise on additional repairs. I had the car in for some repairs and ask them to preform an additional service, they inspected the car and called me to recommend that the repair not be perfumed as it was not the issue. Most shops would just repair as you have requested then tell you about the additional items to be repaired.
