I am from out of state, but as soon as I walked in, Karli greeted me warmly, she was kind and professional & answered all my questions sincerely. The oil service was quick and easy! Chris, the general manager, was courteous and professional when I came to pickup my car and they gave me a reasonable, fair price on the oil change and safety inspection! I walked into the store feeling confident about the service these folks offered and felt even better walking out with a fresh oil change and service on my vehicle! You will never feel pressured and when you walk into their shop, you have a feeling of friendliness and welcoming vibe. Next time Im in town, Ill definitely be back.

I have a 2012 C63 AMG that wasnt putting out the power that it should. I was advised by another local shop (their initials are L.A.W.) that my intake manifold had a crack. The cost: $3,400.00It ended up being the intake manifold gasket that was about a $200.00 issue. My car wasnt putting down the power that it should so I took the car the German Auto Center today and Chris took great care of me. The car checked out just fine. BEWARE!! I was very disappointed with my experience and really need to share. Ive taken my vehicles to German Auto Center before and Im not sure what has changed but Ill be reluctant to return. Please be cautious about scheduling an appointment. I went in for a two hour brake and pad work for my 2016 Audi A6. I dropped it off Monday afternoon and was told it would be worked on Tuesday and be ready on Tuesday. I was not able to come Tuesday afternoon and told them Id be there first thing Wednesday morning. When I arrived the car was not even started. This was very very very disappointing and apologies aside, I really felt there was no interest in helping me or correcting my issue. I felt I was just a transaction and no sense of customer quality, attention or service. Also I was never called back with status. I had to be pro-active and make calls to get status. Please be very cautious about this place. They my continue to be in business and probably have high end clients that they service but for the rest of us, you can just stand in line and wait.

My first experience with German Auto Center coming to my rescue was when my cars battery failed with common jumping protocol not working. The owner sat on the phone with me and guided me through step by step on a different technique. No one other mechanic or company I have come across would do that. I was able to get my car to them to purchase a new battery that was over $100 less than what the dealership wanted. I was a new, loyal customer from the start. Three months later my Mercedes needed new everything according to the dealer. German Auto Center inspected my car, going down the list, offering me honest advice on what my C250 really needed. Half of the dealer recommendations were bunk! AND my New brakes cost $400 LESS!!!!!! They are helpful and honest. Even if I move back to my hometown of Dallas, I would 100% be willing to drive the 2 1/2 hours to come back here for maintenance. Gem of a find!

Im so grateful to have found this place! I bought a used BMW X5 from Houston last week and the very next day, a check engine light came on! The dealership said they didnt know anything about it, of course, but since I didnt sign up for the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I found this place after a quick search for European repair shops in the area. Adam answered when I called and gave me a wealth of information about my vehicle and how their shop could assist with the issue. I never felt like he was rushing me off the phone, which is a big plus. I also found their pricing to be very reasonable, so I decided to have them do the necessary repairs. The BMW technician who worked on my vehicle (Chris) was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He had my vehicle ready the next day. What I admired most about my experience afterward was the price estimate for the 120K mile service. When I called BMW of Austin to get their pricing, they quoted me $1349 to complete all of the services. When I spoke to Chris, however, he checked my vehicle and assessed the services I would and wouldnt need and it was less than $500! I was blown away at this difference and this level of honesty. It made me realize my BMW is in good hands with them.I feel lucky to have found German Auto Center and am looking forward to having my vehicle serviced there for a very long time.

I dont have the neatest car, its quite boring actually, but its my baby, and my team at German Auto Center treats my car with as much importance as I do. Ive witnessed that their primary motivation is what is best for my car, not best for their shop. When I brought up a question that Len didnt feel comfortable answering for me, he walked me over to discount tire to get me the expertise I needed. He also followed up with me to make sure I got it done right. To me, that was the epitome of great customer service. I got my vehicle serviced here recently. The service was good, and the staff was professional. The price was quite a bit more expensive than I anticipated. I compared the price for the services received (from German Auto) to a previous quote I had saved from the Mercedes Benz dealership. Good first experience. They were able to correctly diagnose the issue and repair as needed without just throwing expensive parts at the problem. They took their time to properly evaluate the situation and repaired it successfully. The problem has not returned. They have a good relationship with local Porsche Dealer so that helps along the way with troubleshooting without the Dealer cost. Pricing was fair. Below Dealer, but above your average shop rates. But then again you are paying for the German expertise. Webster was very friendly, informative and clear throughout the process. Review №55

Alright, so I want to preface this 2 star review by saying that I have no grief with any of the team at German Auto Center. All things considered, theyre really nice guys. That being said, when Im paying $125/hr for work I expect Car Talk Radio level wisdom in car diagnostics. What I received was quite the opposite.Im leaving a 2 star review because after 3 hours of expert diagnostics spread over the course of a week I left with no answers and a $425 bill. I understand that sometimes thats just the name of game. That being said, just using the information I had from an OBDII reader I bought on Amazon and a few google searches I was able to fix the issue in under 30 mins.Heres the full story.Roughly 12 months ago a handful of cylinders on my BMW M3 started misfiring. This usually results in a stuttering feeling when pressing the throttle, a low level shaking at idle and sometimes rate limiting on the tachometer when accelerating.I replaced the plugs and coils myself...took roughly an hour. The car drove swimmingly for the next year and then the issues started to arise again. I was pressed on time and took the car into the shop hoping that they could resolve the issue faster than I could. They had previously recommended that I change the spark plugs and ignition coils, and I had updated them on the status of that work when I brought the car in. I dove deep into the symptoms the car was experiencing and the first thing they did was read the codes through the OBDII interface (This was the right move). The car returned a handful of faults, most of which were completely erroneous and had no relation to the issue I brought it in for. They then reset the codes, took the car out for a drive and tried to replicate the symptoms. (Again, this was the right move)The codes returned after the first ride were 1) Coolant Thermostat Misreading 2) Cylinder 2 Misfire. At which point they thought that they should connect a fuel pressure gauge and go for another run. (This was the wrong move).I was then told that the car was driving squirrely during the test run and that they were hesitant to take it back out for another test without first replacing the rear trailing arm bushing. This has been a known issue since I bought the car. It by no means is unsafe to drive with a faulty trailing arm bushing. I made it very clear that this was NOT what I had brought the car in for and that I didnt want any additional work done that didnt solve the underlying problem. (This is not something that I should have had to readdress.)The final recommendation from the technician was to start replacing the fuel filter and then the fuel pump. I was left with a $1.5k quote for the work and opted not to have them do the job as I was already $400 in the hole without any definitive answers as to the cause of the issue.I took the car home, sat on it and decide that the best course of action, knowing that the cylinder 2 misfire was the only repeated fault code after reset, was to swap out the ignition coil and spark plug on cylinder 2 with another cylinder, drive the car and see if the new cylinder showed the same fault. After taking off the engine cover, I noticed that the wiring to the second cylinder ignition coil was loose (See photos below). I tightened the wiring and the car is now running as smooth as butter.Heres the rub. Knowing that I had replaced the ignition coils myself, the first thing that they should have done after resetting the codes, taking the car on a test run and seeing a misfire on cylinder 2 is to check the ignition coil and spark plug on that cylinder. This would have taken no more than an hour, fixed my problem, and only cost $125-$150.I would be very hesitant about going back to these guys knowing how high of a bill I racked up and the misdirection I received in diagnosing the issue and the continual attempts to try and solve other issues with the car.

I paid $200 for a Pre-purchase inspection and I was completely disappointed with the result. It basically consisted of 5 or 6 lines of text of a few very obvious things that I already knew about the car I was looking to buy. car has aftermarket suspension car has aftermarket exhaust Car has slight oil leak around oil pan gasket. They missed a pretty obvious coolant leak that my grandmother would have been able to point out, as well as broken panels on the interior. They also missed multiple bushings around the car that are completely trashed. For $200 I expected pictures of problems that they found and a more thorough inspection overall. That said, everyone I spoke with over the phone, was extremely nice and great to work with, I just expected a more thorough inspection.

Since the last service and the very, very low mileage … they didnt need to do some parts of schedule B and that saved me money.Truly the definition of HONEST.Best place for German car service EVER. Thanks Len and the staff for everything.PS: New rear floor mats are wonderful. Thanks again, guys.

Thanks so much to the team at German Auto Center for the work on my 2013 Passat. The estimate was on target and the drive to and from my office was much appreciated. I feel much more confident working with a team that is familiar with my car.

I had already been to dealer for quote but what the dealer said needed replacing was different - they showed me the old parts and explained the issue and what repairs were needed. They kept me informed throughout the day and finished repairs the same day. Highly recommend German Auto Center!

Repair work to my sons 2003 VW Beetle was done expertly. I am very happy with the results. The cost of the repair was fair and below quoted price. I especially appreciated the time taken by the mechanic who performed the work to explain what he had done, various quirks, and preventative maintenance tasks. If there was one drawback to my experience here it would be communication. The car was done for two days and I was not aware until I called. In retrospect, it could have been an honest oversight and all things considered, it didnt change my opinion of this business. I will be back for repairs on my other German cars and I would not hesitate to recommend German Auto Center to others.

Ive been taking my 2003 Audi to German Auto Center for the past five years. They are good mechanics and have helped extend the life of the car without breaking the bank.

The guys at German Auto Center have been a pleasure to work with. Ive brought in my X5 several times this past year, and theyve done great work. They quote fair and reasonable prices and offer a quick turnaround, as well as a ride if you need it. I highly recommend them!

The customer service is good, the account managers are nice and they offer free rides to your home or a nearby coffee shop.I brought my 2011 Jetta with 105K miles on it to their shop for a preventative, factory recommended transmission service. This included new spark plugs, filters, and complete fluid replacement. This ran me about $800. Before this, in total I’ve probably spent under $1K in servicing this car (including oil changes, in the 5 years that I’ve owned it). It was a very reliable car.The very next day after the service, my check engine light came on. I took it in, they read the code and it said coil 1 misfired one time. They didn’t seem worried about it, reset the code and they said I could go home and if it came on again to bring it back. The next day (on a Saturday when the majority of shops are closed) guess what came on... yep - check engine light. Since the front desk didn’t seem alarmed by the first one, I figured driving under 5 miles would be okay. But then the heat warning light came on and exhaust started pouring out of my tailpipes. This time I brought it to a different shop bc if things escalated that quickly and 1 day and 5 miles later, my car sounded like it was going to blow up- I figured I needed a different opinion. The new shop read the code and said 1 and 4 coils were out so he replaced them, topped off my coolant and sent me on my way.The next day, my light came back on, high heat temperature warning came back on, and now a new light (EPC) was flashing. I got it to the shop and he checked the code- coil #1 was misfiring again and my coolant was COMPLETELY drained. He removed the spark plugs (the brand new ones that cost me $300) to find they had black build up on them. And the coolant had leaked into my engine.I went from having a car that never gave me any problems, to going to the shop every other day for a week, and now my engine is shot. When your mechanics were in my car, they most likely knocked some wiring off or banged something out of place. Regardless, I will never get a German vehicle again, nor will I be returning to any overpriced, unreliable German shops.

Have been using German Auto Center for service on my BMW and am very happy with the work, explanations and customer service. Once, I arrived after closing and Len was on his way out. Although everything was closed-up and he was leaving after a long day, he took all my information and opened the gate to put my car inside overnight rather than leaving it out. He could has easily told me to just put my key in the drop box. I will continue using them and recommending them to friends.

I had my car towed here after it broke down on Mopac. Their staff was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional. They did a great job fixing my car up and charged me a very fair price. I have owned a German car since age sixteen and know the problems and maintenance that comes along with them. Ever since I moved to Austin for college this has been my go to place for any car problems. Their rates are very reasonable and yes to do provide FREE loaner cars. I highly recommend this place to anyone who owns a foreign vehicle. Clay the GM is very helpful and upfront with what your vehicle needs and what can be held off. Thanks again German Auto Center

I used to do all the mechanic work on my car myself until I moved to an apartment, so I have a good idea of what most repairs involve. This place is not cheap, but you get what you pay for...in this case its people who know what theyre doing. I also didnt get that feeling of being ripped off and condescension that I got in other independent Porsche shops. Great customer service. The owner, Len, kept me updated throughout the whole process, and they were able to fix an issue with my car that no other shop was able to fix.

I just had scheduled maintenance done on my car, timing belt changed etc. The dealer quoted about $900 for it, and it was under $400 at German Auto Center. This is the second time this year Ive had my car in and they saved me about half of the cost of the dealer. I find them friendly, professional and very service oriented. Their concierge service is great, as I got a ride to work and they picked me up when my car was ready. Very convenient!Sophie W.

I needed a top level alignment on my BMW after a full suspension install and struggled to find a good private shop to do the work. Len was incredibly helpful on the phone, even more helpful once I arrived and took the time to walk around my car and ask the right questions. He then had a porter drop me off at my house only to call 5 minutes later to say its already up and he is curious if we can raise the car a bit more, of course! Have to admit that this is some of the best service I have ever received and this is my first visit.
