I was super satisfied with their timely manner. I dropped my car off to get my AC fixed because the blower motor needed to be replaced and they had my car ready the next day. The price was kind of high in my opinion but I’d rather pay it and know the job was done correct and I can say they did a great job because my AC is working better than before!

Just picked up my car..great communication, did not oversell what I needed. Brakes and oil change all done when promised at price promised.

Brought my truck and explained what the troubles were specifically. They had my truck for five hours and then when I returned told me exactly what I had explained when I dropped it off. They charged me about $140 to tell me what I already knew and didn’t event fix a thing. Then told me that I could return to spend an additional $330 on the repairs. They could have called any autozone to deliver the simple parts that needed to be installed. Thanks but no thanks.

Talked to Matt, who was great from beginning to end. I confused my appointment time and came 2 days earlier than expected, he was very accommodating in fitting me into their schedule that day.Good communication with each step of 100K inspection and made sure to walk through the inspection findings with me point by point, and worked with me to figure out the right amount of work to do for my budget. The inspection reports were clear and very helpful to have for my records.Pick up and payment was easy, I will definitely be returning.

I ended up taking my car in to them to get a more accurate picture of what was going on with my a/c. Matt talked me through the entire process and everything that he told me would happen, is all that happened, nothing more and nothing less. Being a woman, I am often times nervous about getting any work done to my car because I don’t want my lack of knowledge (in this field) to be taken advantage of. Matt made me feel very comfortable, he explained everything to me and he kept me informed along the way. They had my a/c up and running that same day for a very fair price, one that gave me so much relief. I had the best experience I’ve ever had with an auto mechanic at this arbor auto shop.I mean just absolutely spectacular service.Greeted warmly, within 10 minutes I was in the system and eating a burger next door. Within 30 I had a full diagnostics with pictures sent right to my phone, absolutely free of charge. I would have loved to give my business to to Arbor Auto Works, but unfortunately they could not get the part I needed in the timeline I needed it so they sent me directly to the place I could purchase it myself about two hours away so I could continue traveling. They did all of this with plenty of fun and humor I practically forgot I was at a mechanic shop. I’m very nomadic, and I just wish there was some way for there to be an Arbor Auto Works, with the Same crew, in every single city across the globe. I Have Been Using Arbor Auto Works As My Mechanic For About 5 Years Now. I Wouldnt Take My Car Anywhere Else. Winn, Mat, And Kasen Are Always There For Me! Whether It Is Me Calling To Ask A Question...They Usually Tell Me To Drop By At My Convenience So They Can Check It Out For Me. They Even Do The Simple Things Like Filling My Tires With Air When I Am Being Lazy. My Daughter Now Uses ONLY Arbor Auto Works After Her Puppy Ate The Wires Under Her Drivers Seat. She Took Her Brand New Car To The Dealership To See What It Would Take To Fix The Wires. The Dealer Told Her That They Would Have To Replace The Whole Seat And It Would Be About $3500. I Told Her To Take It To Winn At Arbor Auto Works. Needless To Say.....In About 3 Hours They Had It Rewired And It Only Cost Her $250!!! Arbor Auto Works Is The Most Honest & Friendly Auto Shop That I Have Ever Done Business With! So If You Are Looking For An Honest, Dependable, Friendly Mechanic. I would not recommend Arbor Auto Works. I brought my Volkswagen Jetta in with an oil leak. After paying $200+ more than I was initially quoted, the oil leak continued. I brought it back to the shop, and they claimed that after a reinspection, they couldn’t identify any additional leaks. A couple weeks later, the starter in my car went out. I took it to a different shop and they immediately identified the secondary oil leak as being caused by the vacuum pump (which I had both suggested to Arbor Auto Works as a possible source of the leak, and is very common in Volkswagens). The oversaturation from the oil leak had caused the starter to go out. Due to the inability of Arbor Auto Works to accurately pinpoint the source of the additional leak, my starter went out, I had to get my vehicle towed, and am now incurring the costs of these additional repairs. I’d highly suggest taking your car elsewhere.

I went for a state vehicle inspection. It was quick and smooth. They dont take appointment for the inspection, so call before you go to make sure the inspector is on duty.

I had a problem with my bicycle and i was frantic on Monday morning the people at Bike Farm were not nice to me at all. So the nice man who manages or owns it? Helped me. He is so NICE, believe, when i get a car, i am going back there and having him work on it. He is sooooo nice.

I’ve used Arbor since I moved to Austin in 2008 and they’ve worked on all of my vehicles. They’re always reasonably priced, trustworthy, very detailed and helpful when it comes to explaining issues. I can’t recommend them enough, they are by far the best place I’ve found and I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

From booking the appointment, getting a ride to work from them and receiving text/e-mail updates (with pictures!!!) as they performed the requested services the entire experience was so wonderful. I just recently moved back to the city and was looking for a small town auto shop feel that I grew up with. Have had service here many times and have never been disappointed. The whole crew are very nice guys, especially the owner Winn. My most recent trouble was a check engine light that showed up randomly. Luckily, it was just a loose gas cap and they did not charge me a stupid tax for my mistake. They get your car taken care of quickly and professionally. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.

Not a great experience. We took the car in with what we believed (pretty strongly) to be a radiator leak. Arbor checked it out and said it was not leaking. We reiterated that it had definitely been leaking (it was the color blue, etc.) and after we pressed the issue, they said theyd check it overnight. Then they told us about other problems to be fixed. Then, they called this morning and said they DID find the radiator leak but they didnt share that news until AFTER theyd begun work on another fix that wed agreed to do because we were told there wasnt a radiator problem. Hence, we spent $500 on something that wasnt urgent to fix and had to leave with a still broken radiator. Its not that the work isnt good, but the communication was absolutely lacking, they didnt seem to believe us when we said there was a problem and they didnt do anything to meet us halfway for the miscommunication, and substantial monetary expense. Just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Will likely not go back.

I went to Arbor to see if they could fix my AC, they gave me a quote and repaired my AC, replaced my air filter and changed my oil. They did a fantastic job and their prices are affordable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone need repairs!

I have never felt like I was taken advantage of like these people did. I went in there for my cruise control not working. After four hours and 400.00 later, they told me my back lights were not working and fixed those but my cruise still did not work. I felt so mad that I took it to another shop and they looked at my cruise and it was just a wire unplugged. Such a RIP off. Another woman came in the same day because the had not put her oil plug in right and all her oil leaked out.

Referred to Arbor by colleague. Excellent service. Cost seemed appropriate. Pleasant staff. I will be back.

Before I started working for the company Im at, my bosses have been taking to the company van to get serviced here, I always felt the old man in the front desk was shady and also the prices were high. We got transmission, brakes a bunch of stuff done there. Most recent took it in cause of a check engine light they told me it was a fuel pressure sensor and another sensor I forget. Quoted $850 Plus $150 diagnostic fee. I took it to Yost on n. Lamar they quoted $400 for those parts and installation, even to the diagnostic fee was only $75. The old man that runs arbor is a crook

Hands down the best mechanics in Austin. Took my truck in for a coolant leak and they spent the time going over every possibility, until Goose and the guys discovered it was my water pump and replaced it that day. Everything was going great, but a few days later I was still leaking, so I took it back in. Turns out the new water pump was faulty. They fixed everything and replaced the water pump with a new one free of charge!These guys stand by their work and the work they do is phenomenal. Highly recommended, highly trusted, and a pleasure to work with. Cheers guys!

Just back from my first oil change. How could I miss this great place driving past for 11 years? Nice, smart people. Yes, I know I have some things that need fixing later, and they promised to email me a quote.

I took my car in before a road trip, mostly because the fan belt was squealing like a banshee. They did a full check of the car, and it turned out there was a nail in a tire, plus my cabin air filter was disgusting (they showed me a pic of it, it really was full of debris). Sam walked me through what each fix would cost and what was important or not, he was never pushy and always kind. They repairs were all done within a couple hours, despite having to get some parts offsite. I loved my experience here, and would recommend them to anyone (but especially ladies who are nervous about being talked down to or taken advantage of at a garage). Thanks, Sam!

They sent me picture proof of their diagnostics with a suggested remedy for each using a service called Autovitals. A technician called soon afterwards to discuss and for me to choose which repairs I wanted. They had my car back to me on the same day (on a Monday). The price when I picked up was the same as the price quoted over the phone. This was a great experience.

I got a mailer in the mail when I moved to a new place from them for a free oil change. I decided to stop by and get my oil changed at 10:45 am. They lady said she had one ahead of me and then they were going to lunch and said they could do it at 1:30pm. I asked if it was alright if I left and came back at 1:30pm. She said yes, that would be great. I went back at 1:28pm and the guy behind the counter asked how he could help. I told him I was here earlier and the lady said to come back at 1:30 pm and they will change my oil. He said oh Im sorry I have 3 ahead of you. I explained to him again she said I could come back at 1:30 pm and he just said he had 3 ahead of me and put his hands in the air like it was out of his hands. I told him to keep the coupon and said I wont be back, it seemed as though he could care less. What a total waste of time. Nothing bugs me more than incompetence like this. I could have done so many better things than wait around nearby for 2 and half hours. Beware before you go here.

I think I have finally found a shop that I can trust! Went in for a check engine light diagnosis and an oil change I had and after a said diagnosis four more issues were brought to my attention. Now I know these were legitimate because the previous owner really neglected the car and had only changed one tire and I had already changed cabin and engine air filters myself. So they recommended 3 tires, correctly pointing out one was good and they didnt offer me some bogus air filter replacement like so many shops before had (thats how I know they didnt even look at my car). All in all I was faced with 6 moderate to minor repairs and thankfully the price WAS EXTREMELY FAIR! I would gladly recommend this shop and will continue to bring my baby here to get her up to par!

They quoted me a price over the phone and when i had a friend drop the car off, they quoted a different, higher price. When they gave me the receipt in the end, there was not itemized list of what each item was and cost. I feel like they were making prices up based on what they think they could get. Then they made a vague receipt so I couldnt double check.Go to Firestone downtown instead. They are reasonably priced and extremely up front with pricing.

Updated review after 6 visits over two years: They do good work and stand behind it but are overpriced. I was noticing that prices were consistently higher than the upper range of estimates I could find online. For my most recent repair, I noticed a line item for engine coolant 3 gallons for $115. Having just bought a gallon for $14 at AutoZone I knew this was not a fair price. I decided to call a different shop for an estimate, and had my repair done for 30% less than I was quoted here ($650 vs $910). If money doesnt matter to you this is a great shop but if it does, make sure you shop around.

Great Shop. I took my car in for a service check on my AC system. Winn pointed out an issue with my clutch pedal assembly. He adjusted the bolts on the clutch / brake pedal assembly. The Clutch pedal felt 100 times better. A few months later, it started to get really bad. This turned out to be a factory defect with my car where the welds had broken loose. I ended up getting Subaru of America to fix this issue free of charge. I would have never known about this issue if Winn didnt bring it up. Thank you!Tony

Winn has been my go-to mechanic for the past 8 years! I dont ever feel like Im getting cheated and Im always spoken to with the facts. They guarantee their work, and this is ever so important with an older car. There have been instances where I have had to take my car back in for the same issue, but Ive always walked out without opening my wallet! Ive compared their estimates with other chain shops and Arbor is consistently 15-20% less.You can make appointments online, or call to determine wait times. Winn will even take you back to work if you are in a bind!Personal service is a rare find these days, but Arbor Auto Works is keeping that small town vibe alive!

Went in after buying a Google Offers coupon for the place so I could get my car checked out while I was at work. When I mentioned having a coupon, they said that I needed to have a print-out of it, even though I had the bar code and order number right with me. After that, they indirectly told me to just come back another time. They had a computer, and Im fairly sure they would have a printer as well, so why couldnt they take the two minutes to print out the coupon there, or just write down the number?I obviously cant comment on the quality of their repairs, but even if its a petty gripe, its pretty lazy that they cant put in the smallest amount of effort into customer service and would rather just tell me to leave because of the most minute of details. Considering this, I dont think Id even want to trust them with my car if this is how much effort theyre gonna put in.
