We have been using Yost II for all of our family vehicles for well over 15 years and they are, simply, the best auto mechanics I have ever worked with. They have done everything from re-building a Jaguar supercharger to fixing a punctured tire for us and every job is fairly priced and clearly communicated. They stand by their work and really are a pleasure to deal with. Mark and Jordan are top notch and great people. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

This is pretty much the only repair shop I trust. It also helps that its within walking distance of my house.I was recently informed by Midas when getting an oil change that my car needed $1500 worth of work. I was suspicious, so I brought my car here and they told me all I needed was a new fan belt and tire rotation. The prices are very reasonable (oil change, belt, tire rotation= $300).Plus, my car was ready that afternoon.

I totally recommend Yost II! Top notch experience from beginning to end. Professional all the way. After taking my 20 year old car to multiple mechanics (3) on N. Lamar to get CEL light off for inspection/registration, these guys properly diagnosed and fixed the problem in one day that the other guys could not for 2 months. Many years ago, Yost saved my car when another repair shop told me I should immediately trade it in because it couldnt be repaired. I got four more years out of that car due to Yost - and they got a lifetime customer. This is absolutely the best auto repair shop Ive ever used, and I recommend them to everyone. Definitely brilliant and amazing. Its been such a pleasure to drive my 2008 Toyota Sienna again. Its like a warm hug. Getting used to functional brakes is a bit awkward, lolz, and Im really glad I dont need to really smash that brake pedal down anymore!We did after hours drop off and pick up and its really helpful. After working with them for several years we have a lot of trust in their work. They communicate clearly and help us understand whats advised, and dont try to sell additional, unnecessary work.I really love my quirky older vehicles and weve been able to pass some of them onto other owners. Theres a 2001 Corolla that is still running and being passed between friends as a loner car.

This place is amazing. I have two older model cars and I take them both to Yost regularly, even when I may not have any indications of problems. I have them do an $80 diagnostic check and they correct potential problems before they become stuck on the side of the highway problems. These guys are reliable, honest and thorough.

The management for Yost was outstanding. I contacted 2 service companies one that has done work for me before and they both wanted 1200$ plus for repairs. My thought was hell we send our patrol cars to Yost so take mine. Was it the right decision? yes They went through my vehicle and marked off each possible problem until they found what was wrong. Yost saved me 500$ and the vehicle runs like new.Thank you.

This shop is fantastic, and truly care about you and your vehicle. They did some work on my car and it had a new issue afterward. Mark kindly talked me through an overheating situation on the phone and looked at my car again immediately when I got it back in. Set me up well for a road trip. I had a very random issue happen to my car - it needed a new thermometer housing (whatever that means!) and I had originally taken it to the place down the street (Jiffy Lube) and they quoted me a crazy amount... so I got a quote from Yost within a few hours and it was significantly cheaper! And they were able to get it done much quicker!! The front office lady was super nice and accommodating - I will for sure be back :)

Mark & Jordan’s quality of service and communication was amazing. They patiently and helpfully took all of my several calls while my car was in the shop for about 2 days. Mark was a rockstar for running through everything with me on the phone and taking multiple rounds of questions as well as making sure I was ready for the cost of repairs. Your quotes on parts and labor were incredibly fair and their care for making sure my car was safe and would pass inspection was impeccable. I’ve only felt in better hands when my dad works on my car himself. The lobby was comfortable and Megan was very polite and helpful with getting answer to my questions and billing. I can’t think of anything you guys can do better at than possibly having guest restrooms, but you guys don’t really have room for that or need it with how quickly you handle fixes and have loaner cars handy. You guys are certainly a class act. I wont be going anywhere other than Yost for my car repairs in the future (other than my dad of course haha). Cant recommend enough! Thank you!

Ive had bad experiences with mechanics and am generally skeptical of anything they tell me because of that. I was recommended to Yost by a friend and they are amazing. Great customer service, friendly, and Ive never felt like they padded any pricing at all. The bottom line is that I trust that if they tell me I need to do something, I believe them. I even go back for oil changes even though I live a good ways away.

Probably the best experience Ive had with a repair shop. They really surprised with the level of communication, it brought a tear to my eye 😀. Very transparent about costs and respectful of your time. Customer service was on point.

Yost has been our go-to to diagnose and find the hard-to-locate parts. I have used their late-night key drop off several times for last minute repair. Wish they were open on weekends but they have always gotten the work done fast. Thanks!

18 months ago we got our AC serviced at Yost. They have a 24 month or 24K mile warranty on parts and services. The AC had gone out on our car earlier this month, so we asked them to help fix that along with a tire rotation and alignment. They recommended the same fix for the AC that they performed last time, but wanted to charge full price again. When I mentioned the 24 month warranty, they said it doesnt apply. I told them that wed get the AC serviced elsewhere, but to complete the alignment and tire rotation. They said they couldnt get the tires off, so ended up performing no work after having the car for 7 hours. We wont be back.

Ive been going to Mark and his team at Yost II for years. They have always been great! I really like their honesty and no BS approach. Ive been going to Yost for about 12 years now & I have nothing but great things to say about this business! I most recently went for a full trip check & also for some front-end repairs (busted shocks & alignment parts). The garage has always informed me about whats going on with my vehicle as well as listing pricing with full transparency. They will only do the repairs or services a client signs off on (or ones that are absolutely necessary for safety). Im pleased to report that my cross-country trip went well! My only complaint is that I now live out of state & wont be able to use this garage for service anymore :( You will not be dissatisfied here!

I have been going to Yost II for several years and they have consistently done excellent work on my Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Altima and Nissan Rogue. I will no longer go to a dealership after my car is out of the manufacturer warranty after the following experience. I was told by one dealer in writing (and in bright red type to signal the repair was desperately needed) that my Ridgeline needed a new transmission. Concerned, I took my truck to Yost for a second opinion. There were no issues with the transmission and, now 20,000+ later, the transmission continues to perform well. Can’t say enough good things about Yost II. Grateful I have a mechanic I trust.

As a Fleet Manager overseeing 240 vehicles, I used Mark at Yost II for many general maintenance and routine repairs. I also used them for stubborn repairs the dealerships could never find or seem to fix. I was never pressured for “additional recommendations” and several times was advised the repair I requested was not really the problem- saving me hundreds. I now consider them my personal mechanic for my personal vehicles as well.

Ive used YOST since I moved to Austin. Theyre honest. Im always impressed, never disappointed. When I had a concern about a noise, the mechanic actually drove in the car with me so we could figure out what it was. And they always get the car back to me when they say they will. I highly recommend them.

Relatively new to Austin, and needed some auto repair. Referred to Yost II by Muffin Muffler, checked them out on Yelp, figure I would give them a shot. Had a great experience and won’t be looking for another repair shop. Mark and his team are great! I was believing that I would have a big bill for the issues I had on my car. Mark sent me a detailed email with all the charges. It was significantly cheaper than I was thinking and they also fixed my brakes. I don’t know of any negatives or improvement I can think of. The quality of the work was high, the car was left clean, no greasy hand prints anywhere. Works like new again. I’m hoping that I don’t have any more repairs but I will only take my vehicles to Yost, I am also referring anyone that I know to take there car to them. I needed an AC expert to remove the rear auxiliary AC in the van I’m converting but leave the front in tact. None of the other mechanics I spoke to was capable of or interested in doing this for me. The quality and communication through the whole process was fantastic. I have never had my car with you guys until this repair but you came highly recommended by friends. The communication from the start was exceptional. My car was towed to your office after it started to give me issues while driving and then wouldnt start to get it to your office. I was not able to be with my car while it was towed and had to entrust it to you without any former relationship. During the initial consultation Jake was very upfront with me about the process of intake and diagnosis. He also mentioned that they probably wouldnt be able to look at my car until the following day which is understandable as I did not have an appointment. He explained they would try to do it same day but it wasnt a guarantee. I was surprised to hear back from Jake the same day with a diagnosis and an estimate. He explained that not everything needed to be done right away and explained what was the most important. Sadly my alternator needed replaced, he also explained that my breaks were metal on metal and Tonyneeded an oil change. To get my car running again all we needed to do was the alternator right now. Everyone knows car repair is never cheap and I was imagining worst case scenario. After looking at the estimate and discussing things with Jake I was surprised as was Jake. I was anticipating the repairs to be much more expensive. Jake said they would be able to have everything ordered and I would be able to pick up my car the following afternoon or next morning. I was able to pick up everything and have contact free payment and pick up my car. I will be using Yost for any further repairs and maintenance. I look forward to seeing you all again.

I LOVE Yost! I had so many terrible experiences at other places around Austin: bad communication, overpriced and under quality. I finally found Yost after a personal recommendation from a tech at Discount Tire for an alignment check about 1.5 years ago. I have been taking my car to them ever since! Jordan in the office is friendly and welcoming. Mark and his team are always very communicative about the services I need. I always get a call BEFORE any additional work is done and they explain the pricing in full before they begin any work, so it is very clear what my total bill will be at pickup. Their time estimates are always on the dot, and if they are running behind, they always give me a call to let me know. The prices are very fair and I even get a discount with their sticker on my back window. I also really appreciate that they have rental cars on site at a competitive rate, so on the days I do have to leave my car, I dont have to worry about spending a ton of money on a rental or using a rideshare. Ill admit, Im tough on cars, so much so that Jordan and Mark are on a first name basis with me! But with Yost, I know Ill be back on the road in no time! Now I recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Weve been using Yost for repairs on our 4runner for nearly 10 years and Im sorry to say recently, I finally had to suffer through the upsale strategy used by so many shops and that I hoped I would avoid at Yost. I took the vehicle for a torn belt, oil change, and advice on rough starts under wet conditions. Mark called me hours later and started with telling how bad my tires were, followed by a long list of problems typical for an 18 year old vehicle.I knew about the existing problems and was not concerned about them --including leaking valve cover gaskets that Yost repaired 3 years ago (sorry I need them to last more than 3 years.) I think estimate was over 3600.00 total for the list. I had them do the belt (all 3 cause they all have to come off to get to the torn one,) and oil change. The battery failed their test and I had it replaced because the warranty was expired and it had already failed at the dealer on a previous oil change and in my experince we rarely get more than 3 years out before batteries die. I picked the vehicle up after hours because we live across town and found it unlocked with the key inside after specifically asking to lock the key inside the vehicle.I cannot complain about the work they did on this visit. Im happy for the people that have given them the five star reviews. I really wish I had the 75.00 diagnostic fee back for a list of problems that Im aware of and make little financial sense on an 18 year old vehicle. The tires were relatively fine by my inspection and that of a tire shop. I dont think I can return to Yost. I drive across town to go there and I need 400.00 repairs like valve cover gaskets to last longer than 3 years. I really wish I could find a place where I where you could get repairs and service done and not have to give up your vehicle for the entire day to perform a few hours of work and several hours of BS.

I have an old car which needed lots of things done but couldnt afford to get them all done right away so they helped me organize the costs in order of highest priority. Mark and the team over at Yost 2 couldn’t have been better fixing a broken condenser core in my older Toyota Highlander. Mark called me, explained the issue and how relatively common it was for my car, explained the fix, and came in much much better priced than another garage.They fixed the car as fast as they could (it is an INTENSE job) and were communicative the whole time. Estimate was exactly what I paid, car’s AC is colder than its ever been, and I’ll bring all my future work to them.I have zero complaints and zero suggestions on how to make the experience better, Yost knicked it out of the park.

I have been “imprisoned” by dealership Warantee’s until recently.I feel totally assured that the Yost team will protect my safety, educate and inform me, and help me to maintain my very busy car.I had some major work done recently and was so pleased that I baked lasagna for the team!I sure as hell didn’t do that for Covert Ford!

Good and honest mechanics are hard to find. They’ve always been fair to me and do fast efficient work.

I have a lot to say about Yost and all of it is good. Where to start?I originally had some work on my trucks steering wheel controls done by a local dealership. Shortly thereafter, my clockspring inside my steering wheel broke. The dealer claimed it had nothing to do with their work and that they just break (but could not offer any service interval life for a key component that just breaks). Oh, and also itd be a 3 month wait for the part because they dont have it in stock. Frustrated with the way they treat customers (and honestly a bit concerned with the competency of the techs), I brought my truck to Yost.Yost was able to source the part next-day and get the work completed the same day. Oh, and they have a 2 year warranty on their work. The dealer explicitly states no warranty when they have you sign. Prices were the same, but a 2 year warranty included with Yost AND better customer service?? Amazing.I mention the warranty because Yost stands behind their warranty. Case in point, I later brought my truck to Yost to have the transmission cooler and AC condenser replaced. They did the work on time and for a very reasonable price. About a month later, my AC started not blowing cold. Since Yost had replaced the AC condenser and my AC worked fine for years before, I took my truck back to Yost. Again, in one day, they diagnosed and fixed the problem -- a leaking O-ring from the AC condenser install. They filed it under warranty and my cost was $0 with NO PAPERWORK to submit.I love Yost. Seeing integrity and pride in workmanship at a competitive price is such a rarity in ANY business today. Yost has my business for as long as Im in the Austin area.

I had a leak coming from my F-150 that I could not pinpoint so I took it to Yost. Mark ran diagnostics and couldnt replicate my issue however what earns the five star rating is Marks willingness, and offer, to continue to help me locate the source of the leak. I spoke w Mark and Jordan a few more times after my initial visit and emailed pictures of the engine compartment. Eventually w Marks help the leak was located - all after the visit to the garage with no additional charge. Theyve earned my future business!

I once overheard the gentleman, Ill call him B, ask the team in the back to give a few extra things a look, because he remembered from a previous visit that I told him Id be taking a long trip soon. Been going to Yost ever since I moved to this area a few years ago. Always great service, honest folks, and never have felt pressured. They lay out whats wrong, and give good advice on what really needs to be fixed, if anything, and what is just a nice to have.

I am so glad that I am no longer imprisoned by Covert Ford’s Warantee! I am able to get reliable reasonable and just plain friendly service for my dear friend, my Ford Escape. I meant Michael Yost when he was a kid, running a car service out of the back of his truck so that he could go sailing more often! Over the years he has developed an incredible business that is based on honesty and integrity.

Very honest repair shop. Mechanics that know what theyre doing and are thorough. Often you can arrange for a loaner vehicle if you call in advance. Though there is a charge for the loaner, if they are doing some major work and are going to have your car for an extended period, you can usually get Mark (shop Sup) to drop the charges; theyre not trying to gouge you and if you have expensive repairs they arent going to try and squeeze you for a big loaner fee on top of that. Here are even better things they do....they will always give you a solid estimate for the repairs your car needs; you can ask them which repairs are necessary and which ones can wait and they will prioritize them for you; the final bill is never far off from the estimate or if something else comes up they will call you before doing the work so you know what the deal is AND if you use quality parts (not ones found in a junkyard etc) they guarantee their work for 24 months. I dont know any mechanic shop that guarantees their work for 24 months. Great people. Great work. Reliable. Yost I and Yost II are my only mechanics. Been going there for almost 10 yrs and wouldnt go anywhere else.

You have never failed to serve me well or my daughter too. It may not be fair to not mark on time because the Toyota alternator arrived late, sooo, guess I need to click that bubble too.

The team at Yost Automotive II have taken care of three of my vehicles for years. In that time, they have performed jobs large, larger, and largest. Theyve replaced clutches and rotors. Theyve removed a rear wheel axel (yes, that one hurt), and of course, changed the oil and too many filters of various types to adequately remember. Needless to say, they are worthy of your trust.

First time taking my Chevy Volt to a shop other than the dealer and it was the best decision I could have made. Their service was incredible and they are great to work with. Mark kept me up to date and informed as to what they found, how to fix it and what it would cost. I asked them to check my brakes (65K miles) and I promise you most garages would have said its time to replace them. They came back and said you are 95% on the rear and 90% on the front, so no need to do anything to your brakes. I will be going back for all my auto repairs from this point on. They are honest, hard working and will shoot you straight. Taking my car to the dealer is such a hassle and huge ordeal. Never again.

Yost always offers great value. They have never tried to oversell me and the work is done right. Mark at Yost II is as honest and straightforward as they come. Hell let you know if an additional repair is immediately necessary or if you can live a while longer without. I can highly recommend either Yost location!

Excellent service and reasonable prices. making an appointment by phone was easy and my car was fixed the same day. Mark called and explained exactly what work was going to be done on my car, making sure I was okay with the price and services. They are very professional and I would recommend them.

Our family has been taking our cars to Yost for at least 10 years now. We trust them completely. In 2017 I got a new car, and for the first time did not use the dealer to maintain the service warranty. Yost is much less expensive, and you get personal service. They dont assume you can always handle the expense of a series of repairs, so they always break it down for you with options. Plus, they have loaner cars that are also inexpensive. I cant tell you how reassuring it is to know that we can rely on Yost completely, and not every worry that we are being asked to fix something unless its absolutely necessary

I was recommended to Yost by a co-worker and was blown away. The woman at the front desk was so helpful and sweet, she helped explain how to go about getting my registration/license and everything switched to the state of Texas. The service was fast and inexpensive. I plan on coming here with all of my car needs in the future. Thanks for being awesome!

We always go to Yost unless the repair is something only a dealer can do. These people are the best! All of the mechanics are well qualified and can explain what the issue is, what repairs are needed and what might be a concern in the future. No one here is a parts-replacer, they know their stuff. I highly recommend them!
