Fantastic spot for gourmet dinner at a reasonable price! After several frustrating restaurant experiences in Asheville (2 hr waits, etc) we had the good fortune of meeting Josh, the bar manager of Filo/Post 70 at another Asheville haunt. He assured us that he could make reservations for us at his restaurant (rare for Asheville) for the next evening, and described their menu (rack of lamb, braised short rib, lobster mac and cheese, etc). We gladly took him up on the opportunity. He did not disappoint!Josh had a uniquely charming table ready for us and suggested some great wine and cocktails to start. We enjoyed his refreshing enthusiasm, professionalism, and menu knowledge so much that we ordered 6 different appetizers / entrees. They were all fabulous! The mushroom risotto and short rib over over farro were both to die for, as were the wings (jumbo, homemade sauce) and lobster mac and cheese (generous lobster, great consistency!). The rack of lamb was perfectly medium rare, and the chef came to the table to introduce himself. The friendly owner even served one of the courses himself.Overall, a 5++ star experience at very good value for travelers hungry for a top notch experience. This visually appealing and service-oriented restaurant has a true gem in Josh and their chef, and well be making several reservations for Post 70 for our next trip to the Asheville area. Thanks for everything Josh!!Kurt and Annette

There are plenty of good coffee shops in Asheville however if you’re looking for a great one look no further. Limited parking may be the hardest part. Everything else though fantastic. From the breakfast sandwiches to infused lavender iced mochas you’ll be happy you stopped by. Plenty of seating inside with separate rooms and a large bar area. Also a fair amount of patio seating both in front and back. Group favorites include egg cheddar smoked bacon sandwhich and really any of the fresh baked goods.

Spoke with the lovely Adriana to order a German chocolate cake for my husbands birthday. Yes, it was rather expensive, but I have to say that it was hands-down the most delicious German chocolate cake weve ever had. My husband was especially happy about how fresh the ingredients were, even the walnuts. Authentic and delightful. Friendly staff.

Delicious, fresh, great staff, and inexpensive. I walked out of there with one pre-wrapped pimento cheese deli sandwich (pictured), one stuffed croissant, an amazing molasses cookie, and a drink, for $14.The fact that the deli sandwich wasnt made to order and the veggies were still SO fresh and crisp, and the mayo hadnt made the bread soggy is remarkable.

My marketing partner and I were looking for a warm place on a rainy morning for breakfast and some local goodies to take to several meetings for the day and this place was highly recommended. The exterior is very charming and theres a good amount of parking. They were slammed when we arrived but the service was phenomenal. I got the lavender chai latte and it was actually really unique and delicious. Their everything bagels are on point. To top it off, while we enjoyed breakfast at the bar, they finished a fresh batch of cookies for us to take to our meetings. They were a huge hit and I would definitely recommend that anyone passing through make a little time to check out this little gem of a coffee house.

Looking at reviews for a good place to eat in Asheville, we stumbled on Filo as best reviewed in the area. Boy, it did not disappoint! Adriana was our server, who was amazing. Great cocktail recs and she was so sweet! We grabbed the patata, the mac&cheese, and the risotto (as on Wednesdays they do a dinner service). All were equally delicious. It was bustling, the bartender (whos name I did not grab Im sorry) closed out our tab and was also super sweet. A cozy spot with a friendly atmosphere! When were in Asheville again, I will have to stop by. Truly a delight, definitely recommended.

Spent some time here on a date-night with my wife. Service was great, food was awesome (spare ribs was my fav), and drinks were on point! Bartender recommended this old fashion type drink with cayenne pepper and I’m very glad he did because it was uniquely delicious. We sat outside which was nice but a little noisy with the road being right there, but it did not ruin the experience. Left with a no-flour chocolate espresso cake, which was perfect, and a free sticky bun for being first time costumers! Definitely coming back to this little East Asheville gem!

For somewhere with such a strong legacy of cocktail culture, tonight was disappointing. Usually asking for a creation of the bartenders choosing gets me something avant garde, tonight it nearly got me a cocktail with a strong flavor of lemon to accompany my dry piece of chocolate cake. Ultimately I ended up with a version of an espresso martini with a bitter and over-extracted shot. Their dinner menu looked fascinating but after tonight I would be worried it would leave me wanting. Im hoping it was just an off night after seeing all of the other glowing reviews.

Absolutely amazing venue! Less crowded! Quiet, dark, high-end food and drinks! Besides the food being great, the drinks are top shelf. And I mean top shelf. Hand crafted cocktails with all those special bitters and droppers and stuff! Incredible smooth vibes by a craft cocktail magician who talks you through the mixology like a chef! Those ice balls and square cubes let you know what you are in for right away! Look for Josh! But he is supported by a good team. And you will not be disappointed! This place is a gem. Just inside East Asheville. Do yourself a favor and take your girl there first chance you get! The drinks are rare and the food is superior. Did I mention an entire fresh dessert case??? Top 10 in Asheville, depending on what you want! You will not be disappointed I promise!

Walk up and step into a castle in Asheville, NC. That is what is feels like to open the door and enter Filo. I had the double espresso macchiato with caramel. It was the perfect afternoon pick me up. This is not Starbucks! Filo also features a full bar. Most of the baked goods are homemade. There are several gluten free options. In the evening it’s a wine bar with craft cocktails and small plates. The house was full with people in line during the mid afternoon. Throughout the facility are separate tables and quite spaces to talk, work, or study. It’s the perfect coffee shop. You literally feel like you’re sitting in someone’s luxurious but cozy castle home! Way to go Maria and team! You’ve got a hit happening right here. Go and ask the staff to let you ride on the sliding bar ladder. Talk about a nice and unique feature! Check out and like my photos. Let me know what you think! It’s located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway on Tunnel Road in Asheville, North Carolina. Biltmore Estate is nearby. It’s less than 1 mile from I-40. Take the exit! You’ll love Filo!

I like this place a lot. The sticky bun was awesome, not too sweet. The chai is sweetened with honey, loved that. I like the decor and vibe and staff and layout. The couches were comfy. Two things I didn’t like: the blasting air conditioning on a cool rainy fall day, and the extremely strong chemical air freshener in the toilet room. Why do places have those? Especially places that serve “healthy, natural, local food”. I would think the owners or staff of these businesses would be aware of how unpleasant and unhealthy it is to be forced to breathe the toxic fumes while trying to meet basic bodily needs in a water closet. So odd.

What a gem! Last night we had the best experience. It was our first night and we had heard about the awesome food and cocktails coming out of this historic renovated prison/ veteran post/ bakery. Chef Kit masterfully our together some great menu items. We tried 3 of the Tapas Items. We started with a grilled Romain lettuce topped with a chick pea tahini vinaigrette light and delicious plus it’s a nice vegan option. We also had a French bread topped 12 hr marinated skirt steak cooked to perfection topped with aioli and a beautifully done chimichurri. Thud was so tasty and cooked to perfection. What a beautiful bite of perfection. After that it was on to the scallop mushroom risotto. Perfectly cooked scallops on a saffron rice risotto with chopped up mushrooms. Delicious! We also got the lobster Mac and cheese. This dish comes with a whole lobster tail, macaroni surrounded by 4 cheeses and topped with bread crumbs. We couldn’t stop eating it. Each bite was magical. Probably the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever ate. They have an amazing bar and bartender to compliment all of this we had a couple cocktails. I highly recommend the old fashioned. They also have some great seasonal drinks on their menu. Craft beers galore. What a treat to come here. Thank you post 70 and thank you Chef Kit Downey.
