I wents to the Pepboys to have my car looked at. As my car was gettin works on I really had a hankering for a nice cold cockacola. Buts they put up a wall better Mr. Donny T, keeping me from my cold drink. I may have gotten way out of hand, but I see no needs to apologize. What they are doing there is outrageous, keeping my coke locked up and my beautiful Shawn behind a counter just out of reach.

Very professional and friendly shop. I Recently had new tires installed and was in for an emissions and safety inspection. Matt explained to me after the inspection that it passed, but that he did recommend replacing the rear pads and rotors because of uneven wear. I appreciate the integrity of a shop that doesnt add something on thats not needed, but did make me aware of the issue and offer to perform the repairs.Thank you for a pleasant customer experience.

My daughter and her boyfriend had to go there because of problems with a car they just bought from Carvana. The repair was 100% approved with no out of pocket. The vehicle insurance company had paid for it before they arrived to pick it up. However the assistant service manager had other plans. He told the guy at the desk they owed half and they cant have the car without paying it. After back and forth with the insurance company as well as text messages that said it was already paid for. The guy behind the counter said the assistant service manager said just discount it out. Gee thanks discount something that was already paid for. He knows he was caught and felt he could take advantage of two you people. Next is a call to cooperate and then the state atty generals office for consumer affairs.

For me, Pep Boys has always been an afterthought when looking for automotive parts. I was initially turned off years ago due to their exorbitant hourly fees for automotive work, which were near twice what other mechanics were charging. As far as automotive products go, their prices were always more than their competitors.To illustrate this, Advance Auto moved their store two businesses away and Pep Boys decided to stop selling parts. They just cant compete as a retail store. However, their repair bays are going to remain open likely because their profit margins in that business aspect remain favorable.

We were on our way camping and got off 81 to get a coffee. My husband saw that one of the tires on the camper was almost flat. We made a beeline to Pep boys, they took care of us right away! We greatly appreciated the friendliness and work they did fixing our tire and getting us on our way.

At one time this was a busy parts store, but in my opinion poor management an inability to find enthusiastic employees ran this place down. They started closing earlier so good luck getting there after work, but even if you did good luck finding someone to pay for or get you parts. They didnt stock as many parts as they used to parts many times needed to be ordered, and what they did have seemed slightly higher price than other local stores. The parts side is closing at this location, I never used their service side so I will not be returning.

I went to do the check for the condition of my vehicle and that was fine, the problem was when they told me that I need to replace the blades of the windshield wipers, which I told him was fine, the problem was that it took almost three hours to bring them and give me my stickers. Bad experience.

Drove 24 hours from Texas to visit my brother in Albrightsville,PA during the trip the check engine light comes on in the rental from Enterprise. Change oil now. Didnt know pep boys was an hour drive from my brothers home. The employees there were phenomenal, great customer service and super friendly. I was glad they knew exactly what to do since I was in a rental. The wait time was a little long with it being after the 4th of July, but I was cool with it. I mean it made sense ppl are heading back home

Well, I planned on getting a lot done at pep boys, but now I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I called around 9-10 am last week because my brakes were making a funny sound. I worked until 430 and needed to have them looked at that day because I was traveling an hour to work the next day. The employee on the phone said I didn’t need to make an appointment, so I told him that I get out of work at 430 and that I would be there by 5 or a little before. I asked if that was ok, and he said “absolutely, no problem.” I ended up calling back about ten minutes later because I realized I needed my inspection too and thought maybe I could get it all done at one time. I called and said “I just talked to someone about fixing and possibly replacing my brakes around 5 today, and was wondering if I could get inspection done too?” He said “unfortunately I can’t do that today, we will only have time to do the brakes.” Ok, no problem. I completely understand. I rush out of work, drive all the way there. I go inside, it’s about 4:45 and say, “I talked to someone earlier about fixing my brakes.” The guy says, “ did you make an appointment?” I said “no, the guy I talked too, told me I didn’t need one.” He said, “well, we can’t see you today.” I said, “I talked to someone earlier this morning and he told me I didn’t need an appointment and that 5 would be absolutely no problem.” He said, “I don’t know why he would tel you that, my tech are about to leave.” I was floored. They wouldn’t look at my car, now it’s 5 o’clock and I have to try and scramble to see who can take my car this late on such short notice. I NEEDED it to be done that day because I was driving so far the next day. Had the employee I talked to TWICE that morning told me that I needed an appointment or that 5 wasn’t ok, then I would’ve had the whole day to call around and see who could help me. Not to mention, it says they’re open until 7! I tried probably 20 places and no one could look at my car since it was such short notice and already 5pm. I’m very upset with the lack of knowledge from the employee on the phone and then the guy who was rude and working at the desk when I came in to drop my car off. It turned into such a huge ordeal and I ended up not being able to get to work the next day because the employees there obviously don’t know what they’re talking about.

We needed an oil change and tire rotation and the toilet paper check. The manager/Chief Facilitator came over and squared us away quicklike and we brought our own oil filters and underwear and socks and oil. 23.32.Cant beat that with a stick and locket of teeth.Great outfit. Recommended.

So, I have had multiple issues with the way both my vehicle and my purchase of 4 brand new Cooper tires have been handled. First, about a year or so ago, I took my truck in to have two of the Cooper tires I bought looked at because I had only driven the vehicle about 10,000 miles and they were at the tread wear indicators. Pep Boys advertises these tires for 60,000 miles. The tires were on the REAR of the truck at the time, but they insisted on inspecting all of my front end components. They proceeded to tell me that I needed over $600 in repairs. The truck only had 70,000 miles at the time, but I just had all of the front end components replaced so I KNEW they were not bad. ALSO, when backing my truck out they told me my rear differential was locked and probably bad. I told them to show me and, surprisingly, they could not reproduce the issue. I took the truck immediately to my local mechanic and he said the truck ( including all front end parts ) was perfectly fine.Fast forward to recently. I damaged one of my tires during the last big snow storm. Having purchased road hazard, I took the tire in to have it replaced. I already had the tire off and un mounted but was told it would be at least an hour before they could look at it. Now again, these are coopers and this set I barely was able to get 24,000 out of a 60,000 mile tire. I was told the most I can get off is 71.00 a tire. So not only did I spend all of the money on a 60,00mile tire, I was talked in to road hazard. Absolutely worthless. So people, please beware and consider what you are purchasing. Ask up front about the warranty. Personally, I will never shop there again. Firestone treats me way better and explains everything up front.

This place is a joke they missed what wrong with my car I had to go to a ford dealership to get find out about my issue and Shawn that work at pep boy is one lazy work he cant even call sliver Rock to start a claim this place need better worker and I plan on contacting manager tomorrow but I wouldnt recommend this place I dont have a choice since carvana only deal with this place which is where I got my mustang and that where the warranty would cover but this place has lazy and not certified tech that check customer vehicles.

Usually don’t go to a place like this for service, but I needed new headlights and the bumper had to be taken off. The headlights were installed fine, but they messed up the wiring for my turn signal. I brought it back in and they said it would cost more in labor to take off the bumper and such. After giving up, I found the part and installed it myself in less than 10min. Never going back here again.

I give this place 3 stars. I went to change my brake because it apparently my brake and my caliber fell off on my right side of my car. I took it to get it fixed. Mechanics were nice they try to help me out and tried to give me a discount to help me out with my situation. I went back home to upstate New York being that I’m just a college student in Pennsylvania I thought I could rely on them. As soon as I hit Newburgh my brake were not working. The pedal was slightly pumping but did not do it’s job. I paid $640 for the service you would think that the service would be adequate but unfortunately they sold me a defective caliber I am requesting Refund on this product. Due to the fact that there is no pep boys near me. The parts were at least $50 each to fix the price was way overcharged at this location to fix your car. I only brought out there to fix my Mustang we’re they quoted me at being that it would be 230$ and I thought they were honest because they were helping me out hopefully they can sort out the situation.refund on this product. Went there for a list of repairs. I should have followed my instincts when the gentleman at the register acted like it was too much to handle. Gave me no alternatives. They charged me over twice i would have paid anywhere else. That was after waiting 10 minutes for the clerks, after seeing me. They did a good job on my brakes. But i will NEVER see another pep boys if theyre all this incredibly expensive.

Went for billet valve stem caps. When I found some they didnt have the ones I wanted. I was about to leave, but I asked a rep on the way out. He went to a totally different isle and they had them. It seemed strange that they all would not be in the same place. The guy was nice and the price was reasonable. If it would have been busy or if there was not someone available I would have walked out empty handed.Follow up. I dropped a star based on the impersonal canned follow up to my reply. The first one I forgave...when the e-mail they requested was given the same generic treatment I felt a lack of scensarity. If you ask me for feedback and I take time to provide it, actually reading it shows respect. Otherwise it calls into question corporate values. Consider that if you are going to patronize PepBoys.

I had my vehicle towed in for damage to the right passenger wheel. My vehicle was brought in on a saturday and I was assured it would be checked on monday. I didnt hear anything from the service department by friday so i called and was told that they were swamped but would get to it. Another week went by and still nothing so I called again and was told that my battery was dead so they couldnt get it in. I finally went to the location to find out why my vehicle was still not seem. I was told that they called and left a message, (which was not the case), and that they were bringing it in that day. I asked if I could get a few of my things out it and was taken to my car only to find out a brand new battery and battery isolator as well other parts that were in the back of my vehicle were gone. I asked the manager where these items were and he said he did see them when the vehicle was brought in but did not take notice after. I asked if these items would be replaced and the manager told me pep boys is not responsible for the loss because the vehicls remained outside and could not be locked because the battery was dead. Further told me that there are no cameras outside and pep boys has been plagued with vehicle break ins for a long time. I was floored at the managers response and attempted to call the corporate office but never got past voice prompts. I tried the website and wrote the reason for my dissatisfaction with the handling of my issue only to find out the website is not working properly. Its my opinion that this is a situation that smacks of inconsistencies.*No cameras in the parking lot?*my vehicle wouldnt start so they couldnt lock it?*Management saw these items but then didnt?I only asked for the items to be replaced which totaled $245.00 retail and was told they are not responsible for damage or thefts to vehicles outside?Unfortunately, I am going to to have to file with the BBB and the local magistrate. No one from pep boys management would help, the corporate office is a ghost and the website is not working.I did enjoy doing business with them prior but this was u acceptable.

They put the wrong oil in my car. When I told them about it they made excuses, this was at the service counter at time of pick up. They told me it was fine. It was not fine. Not only did they refuse a refund (I dont trust them now and you shouldnt either) they refused to fix it. The worst part about it, middle manager Shawn. Terrible terrible excuses.

Tried to call to have them see if they had brakes and rotors. First time, no one answered. 2nd time, answered by Shawn. He transferred me to parts. Phone rang and rang. Called back and once again got Shawn. Transferred to parts. Once again no answer. Hung up, called back and informed Shawn that apparently they didnt want our business so we would take our business to Auto Zone. Auto Zone was super responsive and had the parts. Pep Boys use to be good. Now it is hard to get anything there. If they were to close down, it may be a great service to the public

I went in to get windshield wipers. Waited at the service center after 3 mins a guy asked if he could help me i told him what i wanted he said wait over there and pointed to the register. Ok waiting all this time a worker walking around moving things back and forth no mask on. So waiting 5 mins he was standing there b.s with the other workers like i wasnt there. Will never go back. Made an appointment for today (Feb 11, 2021) for 4 tires and an alignment. Drove 45 mins for my 3 oclock appt only for them to tell us that they *might* be able to get us in by 3:30 due to an unexpected cleaning of the store. Flash forward to 4:30 and they closed down the shop completly without so much as a call to cancel our appointment or reschedule it. Received no warning or information, it was a totally unprofessional and appalling experience with the Wilkes-barre PepBoys.

Absolutely disgraceful experience with the Wilkes-Barre Pepboys. Had an appointment made 2 days in advance for 4 tires and an alignment on my wifes car, mind you we live 45 mins away. Arrived on time and found the store was temporarily closed due to deep cleaning. Found and spoke to an employee who assured me the shop will be reopened within 30mins and they should have no problem installing the 4 tires and the alignment by their 7PM closing time.An hour had passed and still the shop was closed with still no phonecall or information. Found an employee who assured me the store would be reopened shortly that they need the facility to air out. After waiting almost 2 hours, the shop completely closed at 5PM with no phonecall or word explaining the situation. I had to call the store and try to get a hold of someone just to receive a brief explanation that they needed to close and didnt so much as offer me a rescheduling let alone a compensation for the useless wait and the lack of any kind of communication from their service department. I had to request a rescheduling and even to try to get in contact with the manager for some kind of explanation of the lack of service.In total an absolutely unprofessional, lackluster, and sorry excuse for an automotive shop.

I came in for an oil change and to look at the level of fluid in the transmission (its a standard; no easy way to check fill for the owner). After about 15 minutes, they told me I had a reverse light out. I asked if it wouldnt be expensive to replace it. It was expensive. Ill do it myself since I found out Subaru makes basic lights easy to change. Second was my drivers door has to be opened from the inside. Counter guy made sure to remind me car wont pass inspection otherwise. Car is also due for an inspection this month and mechanics smell money when they see it so close. ALL I WANT IS AN OIL CHANGE! If the problem is life threatening, show me and well go from there. But if the car is not smoking, melting, and/or opening a gate to hell, back off on the extras. Not all of us make 6-figures like you.

I used Pepboys because my warranty company for my tires had an account with them. The tire that blew was fully covered as was the towing. Pepboys set me up with the towing company, sent text updates about when they were leaving and when they were near, etc. Pepboys called before any work was done to let me know they had my car, they had everything set with the warranty company and the recommended they other 3 tires be replaced too. I wasnt surprised, since its a 4 wheel drive. They gave me a quote which was more reasonable than I expected. Once the work was completed, they let me know it was time to come get my car. I only have the one car so I asked if they had any way to help me get there, they arranged for a free Lyft driver to pick me up, on them. When I got there, the wait time was short, the lady was helpful, masks and social distancing were happening. Overall, one of the best experiences I could have hoped for during a pandemic since I only had to go get my car at the end. Thanks Pepboys!

I had the best experience with the folks at this PEP boys. Walt is an amazing service manager. After an 18 hour drive from Florida to Pennsylvania, my alternator died with 35 miles to go to my moms house. Had the car towed to a local small garage where I the worst experience only to end up being towed again. This time though, I called PEP boys, spoke with Walt and had the car towed there. His knowledge, skills and personality are fantastic and an asset to PEP boys. The car was fixed properly and I made it back home to Florida with no issues at all. I had a great experience and if you are in need of auto repair, stop by this PEP boys and ask for Walt. I highly recommend it.

I needed a new battery. I shopped around and choose one from Pep Boys. It was on sale and there was even a coupon for free installation. I normally would install the battery myself but, with FREE installation I decided to schedule an appointment and let them do it. I scheduled the appointment for 10 am the next morning. I was very impressed at this point. Great website, good price, and free install. That is where the good impression ended.It was my very first time going to Pep Boys and I doubt if I will ever go back. I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment.time. Checked in at the service desk where they acknowledged my purchase and my appointment. I went to the waiting area and sat down, and sat, and sat, and sat. It was an hour before they took my car into the shop. And another hour before it came out. That is insane.If they were backed up, it would have been nice if they told me. But 2 hours at Pep Boys to have a battery installed....just nuts!

5 star service all the way! Employee named Tom sold me my tires for my Infiniti and explained which tires would be best and why. Kept me in the loop on where they were at with my car, thanks also to the wonderful lady that did my tires as well she was very knowledgeable and found a very minor leak in my rear diff. They also had toys in the waiting area for kids which was awesome. They have a return customer here! Thanks guys!

Didnt carry the tires or tools needed to change my flat tire - thats really no big deal, i have an exotic tire size. The big fellow working the evening stored my car overnight for free, which was very nice.I wanted to carry my wheel to a better equipped tire shop. The manager threatened to call the police if i tried to remove the wheel in the parking lot with my wrenches because of OSHA? I dont work here.

I dropped off my car telling the man exactly what needed to be replaced, the door handle. The next day he called back and said they could not find the part. The guy charged me a DIAGNOSTIC charge to find out what was wrong with my car after telling him exactly what needed to be done. I was charged $52 for something we both knew when I dropped the car off. I will never have repairs done at Pepboys again! Rediculous!

I was happy we’re able to get in on short notice for inspection/emissions but it all went downhill from there. We had our appointment pre-scheduled but it took them close to 45 minutes after the appointment time to actually get the car in. The mechanics and manager were there but they were all walking around, talking about their weekends, and outside smoking. We got the car back and the tire they pulled for the inspection had two screws driven into it. The car never left their possession but they said it couldn’t have been them. Refused to accept responsibility and said if we wanted to replace the tire it would take another two hours because they have other appointments. Very shady practices and SLOW service. I’ve seen warning reviews before but we had no choice but to risk the visit. We won’t be doing this again.

Normally not my usual place to take my car, I take it to the dealership for service most times, but since Im away at school I took it here and made an appointment to get my tires balanced. I was out within 2 hours, which I think I decent seeing how there were other cars being serviced as well. They explained to me exactly what they did to my car and were very friendly. I really enjoyed the free WiFi they had so I could watch videos on YouTube while I waited for my car to be finished.

This was the third shop I have gone to for correction on an issue with alignment on my car, these guys are so friendly they do it GOOD and do it RIGHT, they talk to you about any hiccups they come across. I was at Pep Boys this afternoon and had a great experience. Darren kept me up to date every step of the way and regularly checked on me through the process. Phil was working on my vehicle and really went above and beyond to make sure the problem got fixed despite the complexity. My experience there is always great. Though corporate garages are often scrutinized, the employees always go the extra mile and are very polite and thorough in their explanations of everything going on. Very thankful.

After calling around and pricing various locations for tires and an alignment, Pep Boys had the best price. Walt was very polite, professional, and worked really hard to get my bill down even more than what I was initially quoted at. He even refunded me for parts that I didnt end up needing (not many garages will do that for a customer, especially a woman). I was very pleased with my services at Pep Boys and I highly recommend their services!

Not my first place for any work on my car, ..First time there and had the car fully inspected 1 week ago by my regular mechanic and already knew I just needed brakes. So I had some time to waist and thought Id ask to put new brakes on but after there inspection the gentleman came out and said I needed calipers and rotors on my car. This note is long past due. I am horrible at making the time to do certain things. I have been dealing with your Wilkes Barre store for some time now and actually travel nearly 40 miles because the service and work is that good. I always request Jim Mancini as my mechanic - he is so knowledgeable and courteous. On my last visit there a couple months ago, I had the opportunity of witnessing the manager, Frank, deal with not one or two, but three people in a matter of 30 minutes that expected immediate attention and special consideration. He was so calm in explaining to them that as soon as his mechanics were finished with the folks that were there first, they would get the same attentive service. I can say that his patience is something I strive to have. Great people, great service!!

The service I had tonight was excellent. I stopped by on my way home from school right before 15 minutes before they closed. I was expecting them to be short with me because I came in so close to the closing time, but everyone working was very polite and offered the best help. My car was making a weird sound, so I wanted to know if they could identify what it was and where it was coming from. Within minutes, Walt had the car inspected and then showed exactly what was wrong and fixed it for me as well. Walt as well as all the mechanics and employees provided great service.

I was towed to this shop after my car broke down on the highway. Walt was very knowledgeable, went out of his way to be sure I had a place to stay while the part was ordered, and fixed my car promptly so I could be on my way. It was refreshing to meet such friendly and helpful people, especially since I was a long way from home and in a bind. Highly recommended!

Last Sunday my vehicle died on the highway and was towed to Pep Boys. I just have to rave about them and especially Walt Roberts who took the time to clearly explain the issue with my vehicle and what steps I should take. I came in on Saturday August 1st for new tires and an inspection. I must say Walt made it the best experience Ive ever had when it comes to my car. Every time Ive been to a dealership or a mechanic, theyve been nothing but smug and rude. He was extremely personable, polite, and he explained everything down to the smallest detail. Told tires would be $60 each then was charged $104, just to pass state inspection. Was told it was the mounting and balancing fee! Could have got the same tires elsewhere for $70. Classic state-inspection-playbook-ripoff. State inspection+2 16 tires+alignment for $400. I guess it is partly my fault for waiting to the last minute and they knew it, and took advantage. NEVER AGAIN will I go here.

Just tried to charge me over $400 to swap out a fuel filter and thermostat. Both of which are highly accessible and have two bolts each that need to be removed to change the part. They wanted to charge 3 hours of labor for repairs that YouTube mechanics can do in 20 minutes. If youve got more money than brains than pep boys is the place for you

Its hit and miss. If you deal with the older, experienced guys, youre in good hands. Some of the younger mechanics and desk employees.. some are good, some arent. Repair shop is honest and will work really hard to accommodate you if youre in a bind. As with most auto parts stores, be sure to check part numbers before you leave or bring the old part with you. Checked online for hours before I drove to pep boys said 8-7 showed up around 6:20pm today and the store was closed already. I’m annoyed that the store closed early and the only way to find it out was to drive to the store and find out they decided to close before the posted hours.

Too bad can only give 5 stars. We received excellent service. We were driving home on a Saturday evening and had a tire blow out. Walt and the staff had a new tire on and we back on the road very quickly. While we were waiting the other people also received quick and professional service.

We made an appointment only to see our vehicle not pulled in until 45 mins after the scheduled time. Basic oil change, easy. We were never asked what sort of oil, ended up with basic rather than the synthetic oil that should be put in it and we travel and pull a trailer, but they never ask and we got basic. Watched people standing behind the counter all while our basic oil changed waited.....ask if they would install some floor mats, nope. First time and last time we ever go to a Pep Boys. Terrible experience!

This is, by far, the best Pep Boys I have ever encountered. On 20 Feb of this year, my alternator failed 300 miles from home and, worse yet, after 5pm on a Saturday. The manager, Walt Roberts, was extremely helpful in fitting me in before closing, and the technician, James Mancini, was extremely thorough and professional in his work -- including noticing and checking an anomalous voltmeter reading, and clearly explaining everything to me. I took my car there yesterday to have a headlight replaced. After waiting for about 10 minutes, Walt called me over and said that the problem appeared to be electrical, not the bulb, and that for $114 an hour that they could try to find the problem for me. When I said that Id just it take it to the dealer, Walt tried to recommend a local shop to me, a buddy of mine who does great work. I took the car to the dealer and, lo and behold, it was just the bulb. I will never step foot in another Pep Boys given the shady business practices their employees engage in.

Pep boys is the worst place to get any kind of car service my wife went 4 inspection before that I had the windshield replaced my wiper on the passenger side was off track they wanted to charge my wife to find out the issue like if it was rocket science.,which took me about 5 min.to put back on track,smfh theyre out to make money not to help there customers.
