My clutch went out on my Nissan and I was stuck without a car. Called several shops in the area and they were the best in being able to get me back on the road in little time! I took my car here desperate for any kind of answers because my car the last couple months has not been turning on and needed to be jumped every couple weeks.. which then turned to once a week. I figured something had to be wrong with the battery.Shaq was able to see me right away. Tested the battery and anything else he could, to give me an idea of what was wrong. He was honest and fair of the timeline on what needed to be done and ultimately recommended me seeing the dealer for my car because its a newer vehicle with an electrical issue (not a bad battery) and has an open recall. He printed out the open recall sheet ruled out what it couldn’t be and had me more confident making an appointment with dealer. Shaq is honest and transparent and that’s all I could ask for because my car has been giving me a headache!Will be back to service my car when it’s time for brakes soon!Thank you Shaq!

I was pleased at my first few visits but when I started spending more and more cash with them they tried to take advantage one day and after I spent at least 5k with them I’ve say after I got my car back they told me my transmission failed and need a new one. Like how did my car just get out of their lot and all of a sudden my transmission failed. Yet before anything my car was driving super smooth...

I have been fixing my cars at this place for 23 years and dealt with several managers in the past. The current manager Shaq is excellent. He remembers almost all his customers, greets everybody nicely, quotes a good price, and sticks to it. Their quotes including the urgent repair needs to be done now, and what else may need to be repaired later, and the price is good later when I decide to fix it. My familys three cars (including a 1993 Honda) are all taken cared by them. I feel that they provide excellent communications, show me the bad parts, give me the honest quotes, and fix the real problem in time at a good price. They also provide transportation when it is possible. They are not treating me as a stupid lady not knowing anything but just coming into their shop as a bank. Their good business is based on honest and excellent service. Thumbs up!

My wifes 2006 Saturn Ion, with over 230K miles, had an Exhaust Issue. I chose Car-X because Ive used them for Auto repairs in the past (other garages), and there was one nearby. It was EASY to make an appt, and my Saturn was up on the Rack within 20-30mins. The Mgr, Shaq, then took me into the garage and showed me 4 out of the 5 Exhaust Hanging Brackets had broken off, one of them puncturing the muffler! They quickly replaced the Hangers, but had to order the muffler.I returned Monday morning and my Saturn was again quickly up on the Rack. I waited about :45mins, then was on my way... with a QUIET Car!Great Service, Good/Fair Prices, & Great Technicians... They EARNED MY BUSINESS! 👍😁😷

I have 1000s of dollars at this location for my car to still be messed up. They assured me they could get my check engine light off never happened but I spend a lot of money just for that problem to never be fixed. Then my had battery issues they fixed it 3 times within a weeks apart. Manger there told me it was the battery but 3 battery later same issue. They said they said they checked everything. Now Im finding out its my alternater I could have taken care this a long time ago. If I used a different Mechanic dont waste time or money here

There arent enough ways to say Thank you for all this shop has done to help me keep my van functional. Every time its needed something replaced or repaired...and there have been many, theyve done an excellent job. Several weeks ago, as they were test driving it after replacing the brake lines, steam started coming from the front end. They discovered that the core support had broken and the radiator had shifted. Not only did they replace the radiator for me and take care of several other mechanical problems, but they also recommended a reliable and reasonably-priced body shop to take it to in order to have the structural issues taken care of.Most recently, it developed an odd clunking noise in the front end. I was concerned about driving it because of the noise, but they said theyd take care of it for me...and they did. When it wasnt something that was readily noticeable upon inspection, they asked if I had some time to wait. They drove it around, trying to locate the cause of the sound, then the manager, as well as the guys in the shop spent a good part of the day looking over every inch of the front of that van to figure out what was causing it. They found the noise and made sure everything was taken care of. Thanks to this shop, my old van still has a lot of miles left in it.No matter how big or small of a job any of my vehicles have needed, from major component replacements to simple things like tire rotation, theyve always provided excellent service at great prices. I wouldnt even consider taking my vehicles anyplace else.

I brought in my ‘03 325i to this Car-X for some major fixes, one of which included my car consistently going into limp mode while driving it. Saqib and the rest of the team here was able to get my car up and running with no problems! Highly recommend.

Questionable service.. The tech must of been preoccupied they over filled the oil in my daughters car by 2 quarts and when I called and talked to the manager his response was Let me check into it Ill call you back well I am still waiting and at this point is been a few weeks.. obviously good customer service is not your goal.. there are plenty of other places to do business with and Car-X will not be one for our vehicles.

Have been looking around and trying out different places for a good local mechanic.A friend of mine has been bringing all their cars here for the last couple years, and recommended this place.I got my whole suspension redone for a very good price, and Shaq, the general manager, did very well at communicating during the diagnosing and repairs, and walked me through what was going on and replaced after it was finished.Ill be coming here again if I ever need any future repairs on my old 4Runner.

Weve been taking our vehicles to this shop for many years. Their work is outstanding, the prices are always VERY reasonable and Ive lost count of all the times theyve gone WAY out of their way to be extra helpful to us, everything from giving us one of their own vehicles for a loaner to managing to work our vehicle into an already full schedule....and theyve done that for us on more than one occasion. (Thank you, Saqib!!) Theyre fast, thorough and professional but no matter how crazy-busy the place is, theyre always polite and friendly. We dont even bother calling around for quotes. Any time we need something, we call this Car-X right away. Theyre a really great bunch of guys who do excellent work.

My car a/c was not working this weekend in 90 degree temperature and my regular shop couldn’t fix it. Car-X in Waukegan was able to get me in quickly and my air conditioner is now blowing cold air. They also gave me an estimate on my brake job that is less than half what the other shop quoted me. Guess I’ll be going to Car-X from now on.

I got lucky: This was closest place when I needed muffler, so I pulled in to get an estimate. While I sat in the waiting room I watched scores of people come and go for all sorts of car problems. Shaqs attentiveness to these customers was exceptional. Of course he was professional and courteous, but more than that, he spoke to every one of them as friends. It was obvious that many were repeat customers. Shaq remembered their names, remembered why they were here last time, etc. I knew right then that this was the place I would continue to go when I needed work done on my cars. I recommend these guys 100% with no hesitation whatsoever.

So my wife said she had 99 car problems and she couldnt figure out one. I was traveling so I dropped the car off on Monday came back Friday and my car was fixed (minor issues) and I was only charged for an hour of investigating. The actual repairs were so easy Ron didnt charge me! Its hard to find good service, but here it is. You dont want some greedy manager from another auto shop to try and pressure you to buy everything under the sun when Car-X will take care of you like family. Im definitely a loyal customer from here on out.

This place is a hit or miss. I dealt with Albert 2 times and both times were great. But just today I go in to get my transmission fluid drained and filled (I have a manual vehicle) so it’s a very simple procedure just like an oil change. I walk in and the guy I’ve never seen working there before says $60 to do it. I asked why so much and he said he has to bleed my system hahahahahaha. I asked what system and he said my clutch. I told him he won’t need to since the transmission runs off gear oil and the clutch uses dot 3 brake fluid. So I insisted it will not need to be bled since it’s a manual transmission. He got very hateful with me. We were talking and he just picks up the phone and forgets about me. I don’t understand how you can have someone running a Car-x who doesn’t know the simplest procedures on vehicles. If you come here, deal with Albert. He’s your guy. The other guy is younger and has a “no care” attitude it seems like. The younger guy should not be working there at all if he doesn’t know the most simple car maintenance procedures.

I have call customer service all I get is a machines people dont go to waukegan location ripped me off went in for a leak explain to shaq were was the leak was coming from he didnt listen and wen ahead replace the whole line from transmission to radiator charge me around $400, a month pass had another leak went into car x they said it wasnt the line the replace wanted to charge me another $400 dollars didnt feel right,, went to a local mom and pop shop they charge me$50 dollars in the end it was a $10 metal gasket part,, they are ripping people off never would think they will do this since its a corporate shop they charge me $400 for a $50 easy fix.

I really enjoyed my last visit at Car X. I went in for a standard Oil Change. The Manager gave me so much info about my car that no other employee has taken the time to do. Really good service! They gave me a free inspection and diagnosis, showed me a diagram of what was wrong, then took me into the shop to show me what was busted on the underside of my car. The service was quick, and I was given a nice warranty on the repairs. Shaq gave exceptional service, and I was very pleased with the work. I hope I dont have to go to a mechanic soon, but if I do, itll be back here.
