Food was horrible! It was stale, everything was frozen then fried. Never going back!I had the sweet potato fries, grilled chicken sandwich and tried the fried zucchini. Looked decent until I started to taste the food.I wouldnt recommend it. 👎

What a gem north of Phoenix. From Ohio, flew in for Overland Expo in Flagstaff and wanted a quick scratch made breakfast to fix my craving. Dog House Diner did not disappoint. Lots of locals, cute and savvy waitress, comical too high expectation owner, quality food, and customer service with a smile and a holler. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Arizona but I will find an excuse to fit this in again if I am!

I debated about writing this because I like to support small business but there was too much.Too many diners inside make it unsafe in the midst of a pandemic. Too few staff to serve the number of diners they are trying to serve.Server for another tabled walked by me 3 times with coffee pot and never bothered to ask if I needed more coffee. Meanwhile my server tells me she is making more coffee when she finally stops by my table.Rushing to clean dishes I was brought a fresh cup of coffee in a dirty cup. Originally I was brought the wrong food. When they brought out the right dish they brought it in a to go box. I assume because they were out of plates.Owner did try to make it right but the frustration showed in how he treated several of his staff.The food was ok...except the poached eggs were over done.This could have just been an off day but its not the first time Ive seen some of the things above. This could be an amazing neighborhood diner with a little TLC.

Cute place. Clean and friendly. Two ordered breakfast and the portions were large. Omelet was ordinary. Good but not great. Lunch was good. No one ordered hamburgers but heard they were good. We will eat there in the future.

Dog House is the cutest little diner. The staff are all very friendly, and the food is very good. The portions match the price, and we left with full bellies. Everybody enjoyed their time, from the 8-year-olds to the 70 year olds. 10 out of 10 would recommend and plan on going back.

My husband and I have been here twice now for lunch & it’s so good, we want to come back for breakfast soon because that eggs Benedict is calling my name! The first time I had a club sandwich and my husband had the lobster grilled cheese. Both were very good! Today, we had the fish fry & it is some of the best fried fish I’ve had. The tartar sauce is to die for & apparently, it’s completely homemade. 10/10 delicious & the service is always great!

Always looking for non chain places to eat. We were on our way home from up North and stopped here for a late lunch. Great food. Hubby had lobster grilled cheese, I had a grilled chicken sandwich and the kid a vegetable sandwich all great! Yummy coleslaw and fries and Bruce the owner was a charming person to talk too. Would recommend.

A hidden little gem. A very cool little diner with a dog theme. Pets allowed on the patio. The food was really good. Zero complaints about this place. We came during the ‘Anthem cars and coffee’.

Dog house diner was ok. I dont think we challenged them with our order but I saw some other peoples food that looked really yummy. I was with my kids and they split chicken strips and macncheese. I wouldnt order the macncheese again. I had a club sandwich with sweet potato fries which was good.

The food was great. The waiters and waitresses were awesome. I wouldve given 5 stars if the owner wasnt so visibly (and verbally) stressed out. Heres some advice - you did a good job on keeping your customers happy (and we were definitely happy), but dont gossip about the restaurants issues to your customers. Keep the drama behind closed doors. Dont freely offer it to your guests.

First time at the Diner, and it was great. Great service and delicious breakfast. Ill definitely be back again and another great local restaurant.

The servers here are fun and helpful. The lobster dish is to die for. Plus they respect vets and have discounts for military personal past and present.Only bummer was the pumpkin doorbell didnt work. Lol

This a cute little dog themed diner with an out door dog friendly patio. It even has a small menu for dogs. The food was great and the staff is friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

Today was my first time going there and they were absolutely wonderful! Even with issues with their AC (which was beyond their control) they served good food and even made it special for my family celebrating their birthday with ice cream and candles after the meal. Their Dogmosa and pancakes were so good! I definitely will be coming back here next time Im in town.

First time since it was a burger joint. Very happy! The lobster Mac was delicious and the staff and owner were all so very sweet. Husband had a pot roast and he said it was great. My 3 year old even ate most of her meal

Only get one star because thats the minimum to leave a review...for starters half the indoor tables were taken, and the other half had not been bussed, so we talked with the server and sat outside. Took a bit to get our drinks, but no big deal. Took our order at drink drop off and thought everything was ok. Then sat for 15 mins before I got up to refill my own drink. Server no where to be found, and tables still not bussed. Most customers gone by now. Waited another 5 mins and went inside to see what was going on. 5 mins later, server shows up for the first time since order placed and says sorry, but a couple more minutes. Anthem service industry sucks on the whole, but this was remarkably poor performance. Oh well

Been going here since they opened, but recently, we decided not to go back again. The food is starting to slip, the service/wait times is ridiculous, and the owner guy is just too much to handle. I don’t think the owner is intentionally mean to customers and his employees, but he’s just not a people person and doesn’t understand how to talk to people.Last three times we’ve been there we’ve waited about an hour for breakfast, yet they keep adding tables. If you don’t have the cooking space or personnel to staff it, stop adding tables! Your cooking times and food quality is just slipping. After this third time today, enough is enough. All you’re doing is pushing your normal clients away and we’re taking our money elsewhere.Sorry, but never again. You’ve lost a loyal customer.

We ordered from the diner for lunch today and it did not disappoint! My husband had the mushroom swiss burger, my daughter had the hotdog kids meal and I had the lobster grilled cheese. I couldnt believe how much food we got for the price! Everyone was very pleased with their meals We will definitely be back!

My wife and I went in with our friends for lunch, all first timers. Ended up ordering breakfast, couldnt resist with biscuits and gravy on the menu. It was super good. Wife had a HUGE club sandwhich and onion rings. She could only eat half and brought half home. Ridiculously good food in a hometown diner. Im ready to go back and try the Chicago dog now! Everyones food was excellent. I can olny suggest you go give them a try... you wont be disappointed.

AMAZING! My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice little breakfast spot while at the resort near lake pleasant. Found this little gem on a google search and decided to fry it out. We were just overwhelmed with how the morning turned out. I we were quickly greeted at the door and seated to a small but clean table. The atmosphere was cute with comical pictures of dogs in the wall and art. The menu was perfect not to big and not to small. I liked they were only open til 230pm. Sticking to what they do best. We had chicken fried steak with a side of Hollandaise. It’s how I like to test a breakfast joint. If the hollandaise is great I’m pretty sure the menu will be. Everything was perfect. But the best part of our morning there was our server Harmony. She was kind pleasant fast and error free. She made us smile laugh and feel great about being there with her. We loved this place and will be back weekend after weekend!

This a great little family owned joint. The food was delicious. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Filled to the brim with many happy customers.I would highly recommend if youre looking for tasty and affordable good old American eats!

A disappointing first attempt to eat at the Dog House. They were slammed on Fathers Day. Had one waiter working inside and out taking away from good service outside. Had two additional waitresses and the owner working inside. We waited almost an hour to be seated outside in 100 degree heat. During that time several tables being seated prior to our arrival were still waiting for food. When we were called inside the staff got into an argument where to seat us. Thus we had to continue standing. While standing we heard the owner state that it would be almost an hour yet to get out food for those that had already ordered.

Great hotdogs! Fast, friendly, and fairly priced. Kids happy, mom happy!

Second time the server got meal wrong, he was not personal and got order wrong. ( was not busy either time around 645 am) Wish Amanda was there she has personality and if order was messed up from kitchen she knew it. My family and I had lunch here today and loved it. Great atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. Super cute dog decor inside and on the patio. Tons of great food options on the menu and we enjoyed everything. The stand out dishes were the southwest scramble, lobster omelet, and the border dog. So good and huge portions. Oh and don’t forget to end the meal with the delicious funnel fries. Overall great experience and we can’t wait to come back. Such a great local restaurant. Thank you!

I always want to love this place. And its not like I dont like it. But Id also dont love it. Its just that theres no better place to really go. Their food is good but not great. Their prices are good but not great. Their service is good but not great. Its a good place but its not great. Its just mediocre. But theres no other place in Anthem that serves food like this. So if youre looking for breakfast and diner type food this is your only real choice here.theres nothing particularly bad about it.Everyone is always nice

Dog house diner gets 3 stars cause the food is delicious, an employee there named Micheal and i believe joe or maybe jim have fantastic customer service. However i dont like how a few employees look very unhappy when they have to go work. For instance a young man with light brown hair would keep stairing at my boyfriend and I when we were eating our delicious food and even walked up to us saying someone had told him we wanted to speak with him which was not true. The experience was delightful due to the food but we felt very uncomfortable with that young man, who I believe does maintenance or dishes for the cooks in the back. Definitely will be back but will be cautious about that employee.

Very friendly with reasonable prices. I had the hash browns with sausage gravy. Ill be back. Oh, love the art too! This is now my favorite restaurant in Anthem.

Their pancakes are the best that have ever had and the have ruined all other places pancakes for me. They also have very good chicken fried steak smothered in country gravy for breakfast.

This place was absolutely awful. The staff is rude and the boss was wildly inappropriate with the servers. I even heard him say that one of his servers was sick and he wanted her to come in. UM HELLO!? WERE IN A PANDEMIC. Definitely dont suggest eating here. The food was good but the atmosphere and inability to take COVID seriously is a hard no from me.

Over priced normal fast food to crowed food was so so hard to find no sign outside showing where place is. Ive tasted better sonoran dogs better At home.

So far so good. Have tried a few things and theyve all been tasty. Breakfast was good, lunch was good, dinner was probably the weakest of the 3 but it was still good. Chili cheese fries are a favorite, as are the onion rings. Breakfast has probably been my favorite of the 3
