After walking all around Georgetown in the heat, we stopped by Pie Sisters to cool off...didnt realize how great the pies were! We went for the mini pies and got one peach and one other (I think it was strawberry rhubarb). Packed with flavor and the right size for a quick snack. The price was also good, too. We also ordered a side of milk that was ice cold...the perfect pairing. The folks working were also super nice and chatted a bit.If you can sit by the window, it gives a nice view of Arlington and the bridge. Really enjoyed it and looking to go back again for a few more of the mini pies. Definitely worth checking out if you are in Georgetown.
Fantastic place and fantastic two gentlemen working on the weekends. However, indoor dining is still not allowed which is a bit hard, as majority of other coffee places and restaurants have opened indoor seating and some have proof of vaccination for extra measure. I would like to come back, but there’s nowhere nearby to sit to take it to go
Pie Sisters was really great. They accommodated me on my wedding pie order by making a peanut butter pie when there wasnt one on the menu. We ended up getting an Apple Caramel Crunch, Jumble Berry, and peanut butter pie and some key lime and Nutella cream Cuppies. The service was excellent, they answered any questions I had about storing the pies and reheating them.Pro tip: get Jumble Berry and peanut butter pies and try a slice of each together for a peanut butter and jelly pie experience that will wow your taste buds.
An amazing pie shop right on the edge of Georgetown. We loved their little mini pies! The homemade whipped cream was to die for, filling was perfect, and crust was perfectly flaky
We shared a caramel apple crunch cuppie, a berry slice and a chocolate bourbon pecan slice. The cuppie crust stood out from the others as particularly thin and crispy, where the regular size slices crusts were a little thicker and less flavorful. Even though the crusts were less than perfect, each of the pies was. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
I love this place! Key lime is by far their best pie. The fruit pies are not as good, but key lime is so good I get it for my birthday instead of cake! These pies also come with a Georgetown price tag. They’re very expensive so not something I get often. However, when you do get them it’s worth it. Much better than anything they have at a grocery store!
Beautiful tiny shop on M street with a delightful variety of pies from all sorts of fruits and nuts pies to chocolate and beyond. The hot savory pies are also surprisingly delicious, but of course, the crown is taken by the sweet pies with delicious custard and whipped cream and enormous portion sizes. They are just the right amount of sweet and the shop gives off a very warm and homely vibe.Be it for a dessert or for a breakfast, this place is perfect to cater to your sweet tooth.
Jumbleberry and apple pie are killer. The crust is flaky perfection.
Had a big order several dozen of the small pies. The lady behind the counter was a bit snooty, not very friendly at all. Hope she wasnt the owner. She had the personality of a wet sponge. Didnt even bother to offer help with several boxes, had to make 3 trips almost got a rush hour parking ticket. Pies were good and fresh though. Would I go back, probably not. Mostly because her attitude....
AMAZING keylime and chocolate pies. Will be coming back to try all their other options. Carlos was such a kind and amazing person. Had an excellent conversation with him and loved his personality.
It is very difficult to find a cherry pie with great filling. I found it at Pie Sisters! I was going to make it four stars because of the challenging parking but decided not too
Chocolate pecan pie was nothing I would willingly eat again. Basically it seemed like a bunch of melted chocolate chips in the bottom of a pie crust with some pecan pie stuff on top of that. Too sweet and no complexity.
I’ll take pie over cupcakes any day—especially if they’re from Pie Sisters. Great that they come in different sizes, even cuppies/mini. Big fan of the cookies ‘n’ cream and the chocolate and cream varieties. Smooth texture and not too sweet!
I really love this pie shop. Its close to my work, so I grab a quick bite here from time to time. The sweet pies are delicious, but where I think they really shine is their savory pies. Best chicken pot pie Ive ever had. Also, if youre bored with cupcakes, the mini-pies are a fabulous alternative.
My sisters are obsessed with this place. We make a trek yearly to get jumbleberry and strawberry lemonade pies.I, personally, am partial to their cherry pie (sweet and tart), and chocolate bourbon pecan (heat it up with some ice cream and youre golden).Personally, my qualm with this place is that, for all the times weve been here (over like 8 years), weve NEVER seen the Pie Sisters. I dont wanna make too many assumptions, but its messed up they dont run their own pie shop in person, yet they presumably make the profits. There are really competent, friendly, capable employees there every time we go. Nothing against them. I just hope theyre not being exploited (tho, have you met capitalism?).Probably will go back, but mostly for the ride.
I just ordered 12 pies for a gathering at my work. The pies arrived early and still warm. I ordered 6 different flavors and all of them were delicious. I would highly recommend Pie Sisters for anyone who likes pie.
Cute little shop on M Street. Both sweet and savory pies are delicious! Often you feel that after eating the yummy filling, your left with a boring weird crusts, but not so here. These crusts are delicious and match the style of the cake perfectly. The whole pies are a little pricey (~$35), but so convenient and tasty!
I’ve been driving by this place for years but never gone in because I could ever find a decent place to park in crowded Georgetown. While out and about on appointments yesterday, I swore if there was a parking spot out front I would pop in. Well, the parking gods were in my favor because I found a spot right out front. Fate was telling me pie was in my future! The crowded little shop is adorable, with ample seating both at low and high top tables. I was really going in for just one “slice” (not really a slice, more like a single-serving personal pie) of pie but everything looked so delicious I bought four! I tried to tell myself I was going to share with my husband but even I knew I was probably lying. Frankly, I wanted a taste of everything in display! The pies I tried were yummy, although the crust was a little too crunchy. The chocolate pie was absolutely dreamy! My husband devoured the Keylime pie.On the downside, the counter clerk wasn’t very friendly. One would expect that counter staff would be as cheery as the idea of eating pie in the middle of the day. Oh well, maybe she was having an off day.If you’re in the neighborhood and on foot or bike definitely pop in. If you’re driving, throw out a wish to fate there’s a parking spot nearby.
Yummy sweet and savory pies. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
One of the best savory pies I have ever had. Tried a slice of chocolate pecan, and a savory tomato pie which is vegetarian. I like the tomato pie better. Both had nice crusts, and good quality ingredients as far as I can tell. But I wanted to eat more of the tomato pie. It has onions, cheese, herbs, and of course tomato, and it tastes great. Beverage options with your pie are selection of tea bags, coffee, water, and other bottled beverages. There was no hot water ready so had to wait for another minute to get them boil for tea. Its a tiny shop with no parking lot, but service is great. If you are in the area and in the mood for a pie, definitely stop by here.
Delicious pies and a good assortment (sweet, mini, savory, and quiche). Really nice staff and good coffee. Come for breakfast, dessert, or a late-night snack!
Pie Sisters makes the best Chocolate Pecan Pie Ive ever had. I got major points with the in-laws for bringing one of those, and a fantastic Classic Apple Pie to ThanksgivingPro tip: if you buy a whole pie, it comes in a glass pie plate. This makes it look a lot like you made it yourself. Theres no law saying you need to correct that assumption :-)Pro-tip #2: They deliver. This was a major help in prepping for the holiday.
Delicious! I wish they were open on Mondays (seems to be the day i always go). They have mini pies, so you can try different smaller versions. You cannot go wrong with anything you choose! Fresh and homemade.
Ive been ordering large catering orders from this establishment once every couple months for over a year and they never disappoint. Their pies are AMAZING and all of my coworkers love them. They are now on GrubHub so I can order through my corporate account! Ive never actually been to the store but I highly recommend them.
Best coconut cream and chocolate cream pie Ive ever had. My husband and I ordered a bunch of slices when we first came here (we tried apple, pecan, berry, and strawberry rhubarb I think) and everything was good to very good but every time I come here now I keep ordering the cream pies because theyre so decadent. Just over Key Bridge in Georgetown. Friendly service and self serve cups for water if youre eating in. Love this place!
Lovely little shop! Order your GF lactose free our in advance. But enjoyed an almond milk latte while my whole crew found a slice they loved.
I ordered a large blueberry pie for Thanksgiving and could not have been more disappointed. The crust was so hard it was difficult to cut with a knife. The blueberry filling was thick, dry, and not at all sweet. My daughter purchased several small pies when she picked up the blueberry and the crust was also thick and hard. I prefer a light crust that flakes and a more sweet filling that is not thick and dry. Very expensive pie that we ended up throwing out after two pieces.
I ordered two pies, apple caramel crunch and bourbon chocolate pecan and they were both delicious! The bourbon flavor really came through on the pecan pie. Plus, apparently, if you order a whole pie you get it in a box in a pyrex like pie dish which you can use to make your own pies (if you like to do that sort of thing) or whatever else you want to make in a pie dish!I would definitely go back to try more!
I had coconut cream and my wife had jumbleberry pie, both were fantastic. I would recommend this place.
Fantastic place for pie. $36 may seem steep for a pie but it is worth every penny (the pie comes in an glass dish that you can return for $5 credit towards your next pie). The cherry pie as well as the key lime pie are probably my favorite.Only downside to this place is that the savory pies arent as good. Ive tried the Chicken Pot Pie and the Pulled Pork Pie and neither impressed me; however, the sweet and specialty pies are absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a good savory pie, try Dangerously Delicious Pies on H Street.
Wandered in on Sunday afternoon for a slice of pie. The place was absolutely empty. Guy behind the counter saw me, but for some reason decided to go in the back. I peered around -- he was stacking dishes. I waited. And I waited. And then I wandered out. Maybe its good? With that kind of customer service, I wont be back to find out.
The staff was so hospitable. We got there right as it opened for the day and they quickly apologized for any delay in service. They brought water and our pies to where we were seated. A slice is HUGE. I couldnt finish it, but it was delicious! Pie Sisters wont disappoint.
Absolutely phenomenal pie in an adorable shop. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and everything I’ve purchased has been delicious – be ready for some of the favorites to be sold out! Seating was limited, but comfortable, and the location is great.
Very well made pies. Had the key lime, lemon meringue, pecan and chocolate cream. Simply great!
Key Lime Pie is superb! Delicious not too sweet or sour. Its just right!
What does a pie that never arrives taste like?I havent tried their pies because they took an order and failed to deliver them.Dont go! Youll regret it.They dont realize theyre not in the pie business. Its about delivering on promises and this small time operation prevented me from keeping my promise. They dont deserve your business. Move on. You have many options in the area.
I recently visited Pie Sisters to purchase a dozen mini-pies for a colleagues birthday. The service was generally friendly. All told, including tax and tip, the dozen mini-pies were $45, which seemed a little pricey, but they were a hit at work. They were indeed quite delicious -- the crust was fantastic, and the variety of flavors was a selling point. I would certainly recommend visiting -- I will probably be back myself..!
Local Georgetown-based eatery that serves up pie, primarily dessert but has some savory versions as well. Nice touch in that they offer a small portion in the size of a cupcake (see pics), or a larger traditional pie slice. Nice quality pies from what Ive tried. Loved their signature Lemon Merengue especially and Chocolate Pecan pies. Service is nice / pleasant as well. Looking forward to coming back to try more flavors
Amazing pie my husband and I try to make it out there at least once a month. I recommend the key lime pie. Just amazing.
Cuppies (mini pies) have a lot of crust and could use more filling but are otherwise good. Diverse flavors. They have illy coffee. Seating is limited in case you want to sit and chat for a while. Go on off times.
I picked up some of the chicken pot pie and it was absolutely delicious. They can warm up the food for you to eat there or take it to go and enjoy a bit later. They have a vast array of pies to choose from and the crust is really to die for!
Squeezed in next to Dixie Liquors, on the DC side of Key Bridge, lies this mini-treasure grove of baked goods, from full-size sweet and savory pies, to single-serve versions they call cuppies...make a point to get here, whether for a restorative bite after a hike along the C&O canal, or to pick up a pie for any occasion: you wont be able to resist all the goodness on display!
Good pie, but very rude customer service. Not the so called pie sisters themselves (didn’t see them) but the women behind the counter was rude, unhelpful and answered my questions in nothing but grunts and one word answered. I asked what kind of savory pies they had, and she simply. Plus blasted horrible loud music.
My first visit here and I was delighted to fun the small cup pies. What a perfect size! I had the salted caramel chocolate. Mmmmmmm.
THE BEST, most limey key lime pie around. And the jumbleberry made me a pie convert. Ive even gotten loyalists to the other famous pie shop in DC to agree...pie sisters is better.
The mini-strawberry and the chocolate pecan pie were delicious! The breakfast options looked great too!
Pies here are expensive... but theyre delicious. My absolute favorite is the bourbon chocolate pecan. And if you want to try something savory, their tomato and basil pot pie is out of this world. I often wish I had their pie in my belly...
I will try and make it short and simple: VERY GOOD. Now if you want the longer version I suggest you will come here, and enjoy the place like I did and will do again with no doubt.
Despite the incredible number of dessert spots that Georgetown has to offer, Pie Sisters still manages to stand out as one of the best. The service is delightful, as the entire staff is incredibly friendly and warm, and they have a great selection of pies that are sold whole, by the slice, or in the form of a miniature cuppie. Ive tried their coconut creme, jumbleberry, and key lime, and they were all absolutely divine. The cuppies have a slightly excessive amount of crust, but the serving size is perfect. Each flavor was perfectly made and their prices were really reasonable as well. The shop itself is humble, but cute and relaxing. Its a great spot to relax with a bit of delicious pie. The location is admittedly a bit awkward, as its right next to Key Bridge behind the Canal Road entrance to Georgetown University, but its definitely a worthwhile spot to visit.
I had bad memory about key lime pie after studying in the US. However their key lime pie gain my confidence back to eat it! Pecan pie is also awesome!
A great find in Georgetown! The pies are fantastic. Quality is there, and the variety is not bad. They have both sweet and savory pies, and theyre worth the money too.Last time I was in here, the pies were roughly $5 per slice. It sounds a little steep at first, but the slices are a decent size. And, when you consider that the cupcakes a block over are $4... you put it into perspective.Try the jumbleberry and the lemonade pies. They are wonderful.
The most delicious cupcakes!!!! ❤️Chocolate and lemon are great
Awesome little shops like this are one of the biggest reasons I like living in big cities. Friendly staff and great pie!
Absolutely loved this place. Its a nice little place with delicious pies. Definitely worth the trip!
I had been Fiening for Coconut cream pie for mos. We went here recently as a surprise for my Birthday and their CCPie did not disappoint. I was in bliss. I will be returning.
Great little local shop! They do holiday orders but make sure you do it early. My favorite so far has been the peacan pie.
Small, unassuming shop a little away from the busy foot traffic from down the street. Well worth the walk!
I love pie sisters. Everything they do is amazing. Im an apple pie guy and the ones they had were A+. :) They are also incredibly nice as well!
Great tasting pies. Love this place and the service. Hands down best pie place in the city.
I drove all the way in from Alexandria for a piece of lemon meringue pie, only to find out its not regularly on the menu - which it does not say in the website. I would have chosen another kind but the selection was so slim there was nothing that appealed. I left pie-less.
We have tried the classic apple pie. It was delicious. Our order costed $16 for 2 slices of pie and a cup of tea. The cashier didnt know what Early Grey is 🤦♂️. I ended up getting English Breakfast tea. Apart from that the place is not very crowded and hence it seems to be suitable for getting some work done at the first glance, however I have realised that the background music is way too loud and it gave me a headache towards the end of my stay.
Very disappointed, I wondered in today(Sunday) at 3:55 pm excited to try there pies, keep in mind that they advertise Happy Hour on Sundays from 4pm and first of all they didnt even have half the pies available that were on their display board and we were the only customers in the store at that time, second of all the gentleman behind the counter couldnt even tell us if the shop uses fresh berries or canned. And his excuse was, Oh I dont work in the kitchen. Surely if you work in the store you should have seen it being made at least once??? As for the taste of the (Chads pork pie) it was ok. Nothing spectacular. Super dissapointed.
Pecan Pie was phenomenal. Crust was thicker than a usual pie. Gives off a welcoming vibe, also reminds of your grandmothers Thanksgiving pie .
I had coconut cream pie. Filling was great, crust isnt bad, service was good
Cute place for a short stop with hubby. Really liked the savory country tomato pie.
Best key lime pie ever!
Pie so good youll think youve died and gone to pie heaven.
Loved this place, no line and amazing little pies just down from Georgetown Cupcake.
Best pie in DC! Support this amazing woman-owned business :)
Today would have been my sons 23rd birthday. My husband and I are in town for a conference and we walked nearly 3 miles in hopes of eating a slice of banana cream pie (my sons favorite) in honor and memory of him. Although they were out of banana cream pie slices they offerred to make us each a cuppie instead. The Pie Sisters made this moms day slightly more bearable. And i cant thank them enough. The cuppies were amazing and i know my son would have loved them too.
Its a very cozy place with amazing pies, I tried a very good pecan pie
The owner(s) and the staff are great. There arent usually a lot of people that stay there so its a great place to study, and there is wifi too. The cuppies are a little pricey for the size, but are generally good. Hours are not great though.
Pies are kinda stale and over rated. The crust needs to be crispier and the filling needs to be more moist.
Dessert pies were yummy. Service was good
Delicious pies at a promising place that is known for what it makes. A must for anyone in Georgetown.
Honestly the best pie place Ive ever been to! Great service and prices.
Delicious pies. Super cute store. Dont miss this in the Georgetown area.
