Great place to pick up some movies for a more affordable price. The Funko pop collection is always changing and they seem to get some pretty interesting stock. Just a cool place to nerd out.

Would not honor a return on a plush item. I purchased an item as a gift, the person didn’t like it, so I went to return it as the item still had the tags on it and I purchased it less than 3 days ago. The worker said they do not do returns on plushes. I looked on the website itself at the return policy and it does not state at all what their policy is on plush items. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this item now. If the worker or this company can point out where specifically in the return policy that it states that there are no returns on plush items, I would greatly appreciate it. I would like proof from the website that there are no returns. If customers can return unworn shirts with the tags still on them, you would think that they can return plush items that would sit on a shelf…EDIT: I was reached out on here and I’m glad that I can at least get a store credit! That makes me happy. The worker didn’t even tell me that I could get a credit, as I hardly go over to this side of town and didn’t know there was a credit policy. The worker only said that there were no returns, so I was left in the dark on what to do. If I knew there was a credit I could receive, I would have immediately returned the item for a store credit, but I was never informed about this at all. I’m very pleased that I was reached out to quickly and I plan on coming back in tomorrow morning! Thank you so much for your understanding and response. I really appreciate it.

Fun place to look around and they have some of the best prices for figurines and plushies. The employees are all very friendly and happy to assist you with anything you need. This is a new place for me to go to find new things for my collections.

The selection of all things fun, nerdy, pop culture related and etc. A lot of stuff that is from Japan and just a lot of cool stuff from current day and from years ago. They have card games, board games, figurines and pops of all kind and an insane movie collection. Will definitely go again.

Its fun to look around. Its Nostalgia-R-Us essentially. Pretty much every game I thought about was there. Some things are steeply priced, but youre supporting local game shops so I dont mind. Has modern games as well. I also like how I can buy some individual kit-kats instead of buying a $10 bag!

Best retro gaming store in Hampton roads. We are constantly stopping by to see what they have. You never know what treasures youll find until you do.

Store was pretty cool, although the video game selection was much lower than the Video Game Heaven locations. Also, the short brunette employee was a little rude to me and the person I was with. She grabbed the wrong game disc, and then frustratedly threw the box at him as she asked him to sign the receipt. Having just visited the other store locations where the employees were friendly, it was kinda jarring.

What was once a gem is now a ripoff. Many of the games and movies that they are selling used can be had for very similar prices (if not lower) from Amazon and Best Buy. In the last few years their prices have just continued to skyrocket, and now I can’t even remember the last time I actually bought something, despite going in every few weeks. Probably the Andre the Giant LJN figure in my photo, and that was years ago. Now I just get shocked by their prices, turn around and walk out. I’m all for supporting local businesses but I’m not going to pay more used for what I can buy new. And it’s not like their customer service makes up for it. Most of the time I take a 5-10 minute lap around the store and am never even spoken to, save maybe a “have a good one” on the way out.EDIT- to respond to the owner who questioned what is more expensive in the store. Just now I stopped in again and the first thing I see is Resident Evil Village, used, for 52.99. Brand new at Best Buy a mile up the road, it’s 49.99. Lord of the rings 4k trilogy is 59.99 new on Amazon, 70 new at Best Buy, you are selling it for 80, used.Across the store, it’s everywhere.

They have a lot of options for your nerdy desires. Cool action figures, posters, stuff animals, and the sorts. Its also got a great vibe with really cool people working there.

Amazing store for anime figures/merch. They also had TONS of plushies, especially Pokemon. (They even played classic Pokemon music, which was super nostalgic.) Store was clean, staff were cool, and a overall good environment. If ur looking for more of a video game store they have one called Video Game Heaven like 10 minutes away (Also epic.) I definitely recommend both stores.

Very fun and cool place to stop by! I was happy to see it busy and with lots of selections to shop from. I found some great Nintendo games that brought back lots of nostalgia for me. Some awesome figurines, plushes and collectibles to choose from! Huge selection in used games. Staff was very helpful and attentive to all the customers in the store including us. We will definitely be back again!

Great selection of videos games and accessories. I went for MTG trading cards, which they do not sell trading card games. But! The friendly staff pointed me to another shop that wasnt on my itinerary, and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Very clean very neat store. I havent been in here in over 7 years. Had no idea they lowball people now. I brought in a PlayStation 4. I was told it was dirty on the inside and I could get $20 for it. The hell! $20? Ive had the PlayStation for about 5 years, so Im sure it was Dusty maybe on the inside. But 20 freaking dollars? For you to turn around and probably sell it and the late 200s maybe low 300? That was a smack in the face.

The store has a huge selection of movies and a good amount and variety of gaming stuff. The best part about this store though is the staff! They are all polite and helpful and seem to enjoy working there which says a lot! Thank you for all your help and patience! Edited to say I just read through some of the other reviews and the owners response to the rare unpleasant review made me want to shop here forever! Impressive way of making the customer happy and defending staff! No wonder the store has such a good vibe!

The girl with the short brown hair let me know about their preorders for figures because I love Miku and now I am absolutely floored with all my options that I can get now and in the future! First time here. Was clean and open. Lots of room to walk around the displays. Staff was helpful and polite. Safety measures are in place. It did seem a little pricey to me on some of their things. An used controller with scratches and dingy looking, without charger cord or any kind of packaging was $32.00....

Always a good blend of the items that my kids are interested in for a good price. Trade in prices are about the same as the evil empires. I prefer to support my local businesses over a national chain so Im glad to live right around the corner from here.

Fun spot that’s worth a visit. Wide selection of old school video games. Good selection of dvd’s ranging from old action flicks to anime. Fair selection board games, they’ve got the big names. A good selection of various figures. They even have some stuff I’ve never seen, like a life sized Destiny Gjallarhorn. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!

, first time amazing impressions staff was very kind, 2nd time I was looking for a PlayStation 4 Pro to finish a few games before I finally decided on going to do the ps5 anyways I purchased the console paid almost retail brand new price, “no problem thinking it’s refurbished” I got a faulty controller “they did replace twice”, I had then eventually just bought a brand new one since having to go back twice for bad controllers, each time they where very nice about it, and I even traded in a older system & spent a nice chunk in there same day of the 3 third time coming back for a replacement controller & I have finally went out and bought the ps5 so I went to trade in my ps4 pro back to cool stuff because I appreciated the business so much, well upon arrival I set everything down still in amazing shape it’s been on a tv stand for 3 months & I have played several disc titles with no issues what so ever loved the system I just don’t need all these things around therefore I wanted to trade it back in, well I got knocked for not bringing them the knock off 7/11 cable for the charger I took the L I was going to pay them or get deducted 10$ no problem so the total value working would of been 200$ with the cable, no cable 190$ that’s not including my several titles of games I brought in. The female associate that made me so angry I forgot her name but took the PlayStation thenplugged it into the tv, hooked up the WiFi then tried to put in mortal combat & the system wouldn’t read the disk., keep in mind I was playing this system 3 days ago.. never had any issues so then I politely had said did you install the software for the game she then replied with an attitude yes I did OK cool no problem well do you want to try it again or do you want to try different copy of the same game she then refused to try a different copy, so then I said well I bought it from you guys I have bought games from you guys & it has never not worked so I don’t know why that game isn’t working but try a different one, well she didn’t like that comment from me, then said it’s damaged it’s only worth 58.99 & it cost 20$ to send it off to repair… okay so I stood there in disbelief this system was working just fine a few days ago and all of the sudden it’s broken. So she gives me everything back does offer me a bag with a attitude. I appreciated the service but she talked down on me as if I was trying to pull one on her but I’ve been a customer I have spent almost a grand in the last few months from your location you don’t gotta be so damn rude. Anyways I took to PlayStation 4 pro to Best Buy where I know everyone & I had geek squad do a full system test & I brought a copy of mortal combat from my brothers house so they could test it out & the rest of my games, ** passed all testNothing wrong with the system & I saw them playing it for a few minutes in the back : I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the system before attempting to use it or sell it again since what I watched at cool stuff take place…. We’ll Best Buy offered me 200$ & a promo card so I traded the working system in without the charging cable to the brand new controller. Cool stuff tried to offer me basically 45$ after my fees for a completely perfect system: side note Best Buy also took all my games in I left with over 350$ in credit so that would be the last time I recommended or shop at cool stuff on Holland road

Movies, figures, and games; oh my! If youre into any media niche - whether its film, anime, games of digital and tabletop variety - theyve got something for you to look at. The size of the store is the only restricting factor from it being five stars. After youve come in a few times, you find yourself just looking at the same stuff. I still visit often, but most of the time only because I know what Ill be getting first. If youre looking for a place to burn a couple bucks on an addition to your collection, this is a great place to start.

Ive been enjoying Cool Stuff again now that they have new owners. (Video Game Heaven). They have a good brand here and I dont see them changing the name anytime soon if ever. Ive found plenty of portable game content here (PSP, Vita, 3DS and GBA) and other retro consoles as well.In addition to selling old systems and games they also have a repair and refurbishing area in the back can pretty much fix or rebuild just about any of those classic consoles.You can find Cool stuff in Timberlake Shopping center in VB.

Cool Stuff has a friendly staff and a sizeable collection of retro video games, American and Japanese figures, books, movies, and D&D. Everything is reasonably priced; youre not going to find any steal here, though, they know what each game is worth in the market.

This is an awesome place to pick up old DVDs, retro games, movie posters and used consoles. They had pretty much any game from the 90s that was popular. Video Game Heaven in Norfolk has a much better selection of used games by comparison. What I really like are the old school movie posters . I bought a Nightmare on Elm Street poster and its hanging on my wall as we speak. Keep the Cool Stuff coming.

The exchange rate is insulting and definitely better literally anywhere else however no one can compare with the customer service or the awesome collection

The store was clean, well organized, and had a great selection of various items. However, the customer service was lacking very much. I was in the store for about 10 minutes, no one even acknowledged that I was there. The store, at one time in the past, was a great place to buy and sell various entertainment items. Now, its quite boring.

Very friendly staff. Easy to trade games for cash or credit. They had everything from old school Nintendo cartridges and on and take all generations/types it seems. Lots of figurines, DVDs (cheap), posters, and board games (i.e. I didnt know Garbage pail kids monopoly existed). Definitely recommend!

They have pretty cool things in there but the service was terrible. When you enter nobody says anything and then my boyfriends mask fell down a little past his nose and one of the staff members instantly caught an attitude and got snappy with us resulting in us leaving and not buying a thing.

We have loved this place for so long until today. How can you sell products that you dont know anything about? You know what the managers view on it is? We have so many things that come through the store its hard to keep up. So its the customers fault when YOUR employee sells something with the guarantee that it works just like the other product? I am honestly baffled that these are the type of people running this store.

Hadnt been by cool stuff in a few years. Boy have they transformed this place. What a fantastic store. Lots of things to peruse. Found some really neat items. Made some mental notes to go back an pick up a few things for Christmas presents.

Staff was friendly and polite, but this store is 2/3 DVDs and Funko Pops. Was definitely expecting some cooler stuff from a store with this title.I understand that most cool video game stuff goes to their sister store, Video Game Heaven (which is awesome and we love), but I still expected this store to have more personality. Maybe include more obscure board and tabletop games?
