Just passing through town, i decided to stop and check out comic kings. What a fantastic local comic store! Lots of selection, clean and organized. Prices were fair. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also had pokemon and magic cards for sale. If you were on the fence about checking them out, Id say go in and see for yourself.

They had a huge selection of comics which was great. When we went, my boyfriend had some questions for the man behind the counter but he was unhelpful and seemed annoyed.

Ive gone in here a few times over the years. Sometimes by myself, and sometimes with my young child. Each time the people here have been welcoming and helpful. Whether youre a well established comic fan, or just someone curious about what the fandom is all about, this is a great spot to come to for all your comic needs.

Fantastic selection of trading cards and comics. I went for MTG cards and their low prices made me buy more. Great staff, ample space, and tables for friends to play at. Great place completely.

I only go here to occasionally buy one thing and theyve always been friendly and welcoming.

Great store with great service. Always worth the drive down from RIC. Nice selection, but it is the great customer service that keeps us coming back. Very friendly staff, inventory priced very competitively, and every now and then has some excellent cherry deals on select items.

Comic Kings is great!!!!! My 12 year son was visiting from out of town and we went there for Yugioh cards and had a blast. He met new friends, traded cards, and played in a Yugioh tournament. He also got $100 get certificate. He said it was the best day of his life, but he only 12. Its going to be hard to top that experience though. Thank you Comic Kings👍

Awesome comic store, it was a flash back down memory lane for me, very nostalgic.The staff was easy going and I would recommend this comic store to friends.

Brought in 4 rare cards, 4 mixed language cards (including a 1st Edition German Machamp Machomei Mixed Language Card), and the original 3 rocket eevee evolutions. and proceed to tell me they dont make German cards, Japanese doesnt look like that and then shooed me away with his hand. i even called them before hand to see if they were interested. waste of 45 mins both ways.waste of time dont go, if they buy it itll probably be the lowest they can go, with out seeming ratty.

Just found out where this store had moved to. Clerk said they had been in that location almost 10 years. SO GLAD I found them again! Clerk was Very helpful.

This store is awesome! They sell Pokémon cards, Yugioh and Magic the Gathering and of course tons of comic books. I was able to sell/trade in Pokémon cards in exchange for Pokémon cards that I really wanted!

Best place to buy old and new comics

Love this shop. Have been going here for years. Family owned Both Joeys Ms.Dottie and all the other employees never failed to make me feel welcome when I migrated from Comic Chest.Fair prices,decent selection, and odds are they will order any new thing for you, or keep eyes open for back issues for the comics. Joey has had everything from amazing fantasy 15, New mutants 98, and many other keys come through his door so be sure to poke your head in as you never know what hes found lately.Good size for FNM or other card tournaments, and with restrictions being lifted I am sure it will be lively again. MOVE QUICK if you want pokemon though they get cleaned out of the newest sets fast due to the demand as of my writing. They Also have good selection of mtg singles, I have seen power 9 in their cases and even sold reserved list cards myself to them, very fair on negotiating when you sell your cards to them.Carries a small number of toys ranging from 90s era popculture toys to more modern marvel select figures, but they definitely favor cards and comics.There are also high quality enamel pins for sale for pin collectors that my wife loves.All in all to paraphrase a rather average country song by Toby Keith I love this shop, its my kind of place. Just walkin in the front door puts a big smile on my face. So if you are in the area visiting, live in Virginia Beach and need a shop for Magic, Yugioh, Pokemom or to start a comic pull. Very awesome store. Tons of collectible items that vary from comics to trading cards. Tons of stock, knowledgeable and friendly. Chill atmosphere and theres usually always a game of some sort happening. Good vibes!

The best shop in the Hampton Roads area. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. Events were always on the schedule and almost always took place. Never have I seen an event not occur due to lack of attendees. Everyone in the area seems to prefer this shop over the others and would definitely recommend if youre looking to get into any kind of TCG or simply to browse through comic product

Its a pretty cool store. I go there to play yugioh, but I love the selection of the comics ^-^ The bathroom can sometimes be dirty, but they handle it swiftly. They have magick items and pins to sell, seating at this moment is only up to 10 people, they and vending machines for drinks. I believe if youre paying with card you must be buying something no less than 3.50(?) But they may have changed that ruleAll in all the atmosphere is comforting and you can make friendly acquaintances. Rules are 1. Trading only among your peers, no buying ! And uh, 2. Be respectful(no foul language) 😊

The employee I talked to was very knowledgeable on all of his products, and was extremely patient. They also have pretty fair prices.

I go here to buy pokemon cards since this is the only place I can really find them in this barren time. The pricing is what youd expect since they are hard to find rn but in a regular time period they would be a bit over priced.

These people rock and are super helpful for all levels of comics fandom.

Last of the speculator shops, they specialize in key issues and Magic cards. They are as soulless as you might expect, but have a nice selection of dollar comics and pre-made sets.

Amazing card shop

Someone didn’t agree with their prices so the owner is on social media slamming the member in a group after having them removed. The person cannot even reply back to the owner since they are banned from the group. Super unprofessional and childish. I was a supporter Until I saw the owner acting like a child. Honestly the prices are a bit high but you deal with it to support small business. I won’t support a trash talking owner.

Prices a bit high, but my luck there is phenomenal, every pack of cards I get I get some high rarity, never fails ! So I guess prices being high doesnt matter when you get it all back on two cards you pull from packs.

First time in a comic store! My daughter wanted some books (comics) on her favorite anime. They had exactly what she was looking for! Really cool place!

Went to sell some magic cards I had but didnt want anymore. Cash deal was fair. Credit would have been great but I was on a time restraint and didnt have time to browse. Awesome experience though. Great staff. Good wares. Cant wait to visit again.

This is one of the best comic shops Ive been too. They are constantly getting in collectible books from collections, and of course they have the current books every week. The owner and his family and other staff are all awesome people: very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They also have trading card gaming supplies, collectible toys, comic book storage supplies, and some other great stuff

Let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS PLACE. I am a regular here and love stopping by to a friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The comic prices are for the most part good. I loved their free comic book day event where I got a ton of comic books for a cheap price. Their magic the gathering cards are great, I always buy my cards from here. Also their magic the gathering tournaments are a lot of fun!

Great place for nerds and geeks alike. Tee decor is not corny: the space is amazing, the people are wonderful, and the selection is superb.Unfortunately, the location can get a little confusing, since the front of the store faces vertical and barely visible to the road.

Staff are friendly and are willing to answer questions. They offer a good selection of cards. Pokemon and Yugioh cards brought us here but there are many other items that peak interest. Locals gather to play games and there seems to be sense of community when asked about the games they play. Were happy with the service and plan on returning to learn and play. My son and daughter both like going. While knew Barbie had cards??

Guy who worked there was very knowledgeable and polite. The place was very clean and organized. I was able to call in for a specified comic book to be put on reservation in advance. I liked how many gaming tables they had and the fact that they do a veriety of magic games(not just commander) and the comics I bought from there were in excellent condition. They have magic cards on display for sale and they have dungeons and dragons books too.

Great prices on Magic cards. Tons of toys and other misc comic stuff. Solid back issue selection. Not a ton in the way of trades but they carry new stuff and the classics.Staff is super friendly and helpful. Usually packed on Friday nights.

Lord help me comic kings is truly a gem of a place. Staff are the friendliest people you could ever interact with and they are always knowledgeable and ready to help you with what you need. They also have a really good selection of product. They also host a ton of tournaments for all different games. Id give them 6 stars if I could cuz dang if they dont deserve it.

This is my favorite comic shop of all time. The prices are great and they have excellent customer service. I have been coming here for almost two years now and I always come out with a comic. Their card and comic prices are definitely cheaper than most stores. I recommend this store to anyone old and new thats into comics and cards.

Been going all over Hampton Roads looking for a new spot to get my comic book fix after moving from California and found this gem. The staff was awesome and helpful, the place was clean and organized, the back issue boxes are respectable and the prices are responsible and negotiable. My wife stopped by to get me a birthday gift and said she has never felt so comfortable in a comic shop since leaving the west coast, to me thats a big deal because most shops seem to make women uncomfortable and this place made her feel accepted and equal. This is now my go to spot, thanks guys.

An awesome store with a great selection and friendly staff. I walked in to some good old fashioned gaming in a happy and nerdy atmosphere. Cant ask for too much more. Nothing is spectacular but here you can get all the help and stuff you need.

This is one of the premier places for playing magic and other card games. It is a pretty family friendly place as well seeing as though swearing and similar behavior is frowned upon in the store.The main issue with the store is the fact that it is THE place to go for magic, it attracts a lot of rather difficult people to get along with and the magic crowd is near bloodthirsty when it comes to tournaments.Great if you want to be competitive, not so good if youre a casual player.Great customer service.

This was my first time visiting Norfolk in a long time. I forgot how many comic book stores there were in a relatively small area. I made it to 4 of them, but this one was by far my favorite. Its clean, organized, has a nice selection, good prices on back issues/variants, and in my 2 visits, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I wont be in Virginia Beach often, but when I am, this will be my go to!

Best store in Hampton Roads as far as selection (both backissues and modern day), an always extremely clean store, the books are very well cared for (even the ones worth $2), and the owner shows a true appreciation of the customer and comic.So many people jack the old books up to the point where no one can afford them. The owner wants the customer to enjoy the comics and prices them all at a very fair and affordable price. A smile, a nod, help offered, and clear knowledge of repeat customers only adds to the welcoming atmosphere of a shining example of what a comic book store should be!My hat is off to you, Comic Kings.
