Young woman and Downtown Vv local here!! I took my vehicle to get a repair here as a part of the automotive repair program. At first everything seemed friendly. I went for a diagnostic. I assumed it would take a day at most and next thing I knew my car was there for 3 additional days. I called a few times just to ask for an estimated time so I can plan accordingly wether that meant finding a loaner car or whatever. I’m sure they’re busy, but as a mom I am also busy with school, work and caring for my child. Point is, the man was very unpleasant and was audibly bothered when I would inquire. After a few days, it was finally ready and I went to pick it up. However, Getting specific information from this guy was like pulling teeth and I was actually getting nervous because i got a bad feeling right away. After the diagnostics were performed and submitted to the state, they said they would contact me within a week or so. It has been over a month. I assumed I would receive correspondence from the state as well once the paperwork was processed. I called them, and they said they have the paperwork and that my car would be there for “a Loooooonnng time”. So firstly, they acted bothered by my questions, second offense: they said they would contact me and they didn’t. Overall, they didn’t respect my time or value my patronage. I wasn’t spending a little bit of money either it would’ve been upwards $3,500. I will take my business elsewhere. In conclusion, if you’re a busy person and find it difficult to be without your car for several days without notice, STAY AWAY. I am a 25 year old female so naturally I felt uncomfortable. If you’re a young, single woman, or mother don’t even consider this shop. from the jump there was a Complete disregard for my schedule and ultimately my safety, because I need a vehicle as a mother. Also, they are very condescending on the phone when I expressed my dissatisfaction repeatedly spoke over me, saying my name without regard for the fact that I was talking, not yelling; simply TALKING about my concerns. Truly the MOST unprofessional experience of my life.

Honest and fair. I accidentally left my brand new unlocked phone and my backup phone there on the front counter. I went back a month later and i was very happy to know that they still had them for me. They didnt know who they belonged to yet they kept them safe for over a month. Usually places will let a few weeks pass before they just assume nobodys coming back to claim the property and then give it to the person who found them. I am extremely impressed with the honesty and integrity of the man and his son who run the shop as well as every single employee who work there. Their prices are the best in the state and their quality is excellent. I appreciated their clear communication on repairs and costs and friendly service. I recommend this place above all others for repairs and state inspections.

They are very through on the light and brake inspection. 2nd time i passed. 100$ for orig. Inspection. And 30. Each for reinspection! Failed brake fluid was dirty and failed light cause 3rd eye light had 2 bulbs out. Its the state that regulates fees and redone fees!! The only neg i can say is customer svs. And waiting area can use new couch or chairs. And need bigger parking lot. $160 plus 60$ for smog. $220. Inspecton fees to CA! We wont discuss how much paid in reg, fees!!

Extremely pleased I chose 5 Star Auto Repair Center Booking was relatively easy, the prices were competitive, the drivers showed up early to each pickup time, the drivers were very skilled and professional, and the cars were very well maintained. They even let us advance our pickup time on the return trip on short notice. Definitely going to be using 5 Star Auto Repair Center for all my future trips.

This place is HORRIBLE! We went there to get the spark plugs changed & shortly right after the truck started feeling like it was shaking, we took it back to get checked since it did not feel like that before & they were charging us all over again to even take a look at the spark plugs. My dad ended up changing them himself & when he took them out 4 of them were extremely old & rusty! Meaning they did not even bother changing them!! We never usually leave reviews but we were very upset at how everything was handled. Do NOT waste your money here.

I went to get the smog check done and at first I was treated very unprofessionally, the lady on the desk is very rude. My car is is in perfect condition with very low miles and never been worked on the engine for anything, no check engine light ever, but the guy still said he couldn’t do the smog because I had a Mopar air intake installed!!! I went straight to another smog shop just up the street and they did the smog check right away and passed with flying colors. You lost my business forever..

I have had a few jobs done here on one car and at first everything was good but as the jobs started to grow and the more money i spent it begin to seem like the jobs did not receive the attention they should have and being a loyal customer that i have been,now this has cost me to have a very big job done and when turning to them i was made to feel like they really didnt want to do the work which im now being told would involve correcting some of their own corner cutting as i have been stalled for almost two weeks so when having any major work done with them just make sure the work is double checked or get a second opinion

Please don’t ever go to this shop. I just went last week to install a battery (they charged me $10). When they were done I went to my car and it wouldn’t turn on and told me that the starter was bad. Luckily I changed the starter not too long ago and called the shop that made the repaired and honored the warranty. When I get to the other shop they told me that it wasn’t the starter, they just didn’t connect the battery terminals were not connected properly.This shop wanted to charge for a repair on my car that it didn’t need. I guess business was slow that day and wanted someone to ripped off.

I will not be returning to this place ever. Went for a break and light inspection 3 different people worked on my car they kept going back and forth about things with my car. They were supposed to adjust my light and didnt. Payed them $100 for them to tell me a whole bunch of lies that my car didnt have. Dont trust them anymore!

Inspection in20 min perfect

I took my car in for an alignment after a 800.00 bill later, Im ready to leave when I notice my check engine light on. (Which was not on when i brought it in), so i tell the guy its on and he says it must have been on when i brought it in. I said it wasnt he said oh well cant do nothing for you except check it and charge you for the repairs.So basically I was called a liar, need to repair the check engine light problem and down 800.00. Never going back here again. I advise everyone to watch out for this company they take your money and make more problems.

Dont come here unless you want to get ripped off. They charged me full price for a job they didnt finished. I know what you guys are thinking why did you pay? They charge you before they do the work. That kind of sounded sketchy to me but I needed the work done ASAP. Just RUN!!!

Mechanics not very professional. Just see their customers with dollar signs. They try to fix and upgrade things in your car that you dont even need. Went there to get brakes and lights inspection. They sold me some used tires that it make my ride worst than how it was. And they pass the inspection. I had to buy those tires in able for them to pass it. Would not recommend this shop to any one. Family owned not very trustworthy.

After 40 years of visiting auto repair shops, I look for one thing -- trustworthiness. Im going on my third repair job with 5-star. They have earned my trust even though Im very skeptical, especially about car repair shops. Each time 5 Star told me what they were going to do, did it, and the cost of repair came in within or lower than their initial written estimates. Then THEY asked ME if I wanted the parts which they replaced.Im a degreed civil engineer. I took auto shop class in high school, and have worked on my own cars through the years. In my career, I worked in crews that fixed big and little machines. With that said, there is no way I can keep up with how modern cars work with all their microprocessors, fuel-delivery, and pollution control systems they have. Dont get me started on hybrids! You have to find someone who is trained, and someone you can trust.My first repair with 5 Star went like this: My car was inexplicably refusing to start sometimes. Sometimes when it did start it would run poorly and lack power. I needed another set of keys in addition to the repair, so I first took it to the local Ford dealer. After offering me another key for approximately $250 and a remote entry key fob for another approximate $250, they said they would take a look at my car and try to diagnose it for about $100. When I came back to check on it, they had done a point inspection (where they go through a checklist). There was no diagnosis of the problem I came in to have them fix. The sales rep said they needed another $400+ to really get into the diagnosis. That was my cue to say thanks, but I really need to get out of here before you really get into my wallet.I was referred by a friend to 5 Star, and had the car towed there. No, I didnt buy $500 worth of key and fob for a car that is worth about $3500. Yes, they had me over a barrel, but no, I did not have to stay on that barrel. Ill just take good care of my only key and hope the car wears out before I lose it.The mechanics at 5 Star quickly found the problem -- a failing cam position sensor which was creating problems with the computer(s) adjusting fuel and air mix. They replaced the sensor, which was relatively inexpensive. As part of the diagnostics, they measured fuel pump pressure and noted that it was very low. They showed me the recommended range, plus my measurement, and told me it was important but optional. I elected to have the fuel pump repaired. I didnt feel pressured. They didnt use scare tactics. The actual cost of the work on the cam sensor and the fuel pump came in UNDER the estimate. The fuel pump replacement was significantly lower -- as I recall $300 actual instead of the $500 amount which I had already approved.Five Star has continued to exceed my expectations. They keep asking me if I want the replaced parts. I still say yes, but now its because Im a curious engineer who wants to analyze why they failed, not because I dont trust them 100%.Five Star is going to work on my brakes next, then I have some wiring issues I will be discussing with them after that. I have every confidence that I am going to continue to love 5 Star, and keep giving them 5 stars!(5 Stars main sign is practically hidden behind the building next door. The tow truck guy and I drove past is twice before we knew it was there. Keep looking, its worth the trouble. A good, trustworthy mechanic is a lifetime treasure.)

They are not supposed to charge you if your car. Doesnt pass the smog check,, they tell you the car didnt get the certification then have the audacity to charge you the second time. They are cheap because they charge you each and every time you go back to retest. What a rip off. Oh and youArent allowed to look at him test your vehicle so he maybe hooking up to another old car

Please! Do not give these guys a chance to work on your vehicle. These people are a bunch of crooks and criminals. I came by on 4/19/2018 to get a brake and light inspection (Because there are no other shop that does this in the High Desert). They told me that my car needed all kinds of work. They quoted me 600 dollars worth of work that I dont need. That has nothing to do with passing the brake light inspection. So I showed the car to a different mechinc that I trust, and I was told differently. That those quote is not necessary to pass the brake inspection. They want my wheel bearing replace that has nothing to do with the brakes. So I drove down to Rialto to get my car inspected and it pass with no issues. Please stay away! If I can give these guys a zero I would. They will just steal your money. Their inspection is a pass or fail. So they will make you pay no matter what. I hope this place close down so they will not take peoples hard earn money.

Took my car here to get lamp and brake inspection which was $90 and they gave me a list of things that was wrong with brakes, tires, and headlights, so I failed.They wanted over $700 to fix everything so I went directly across the street to auto care center(my mechanic) and he charged half of their price. I took my car back for retest and paid the $60 but now theyre adding new things to the list and since the work wasnt done by them, theyre pickin at the work my mechanic did. They know theyre the only place that does the brake and lamp inspection in town so they can say and do whatever because you cant go anywhere else!
