After visiting Holmgren Subaru and being told I need to put down at least $2100 i thought that was very odd especially since that was the “best they could do”I decided to take a drive to Suburban Subaru explaining I just came from another dealership. Steve B was my salesman at Suburban Subaru and he was great. I went in with a capital one prequal and filled out a credit app. Ended up being approved directly through Subaru at a better rate! They didn’t have the base model I was originally looking for but made the numbers work with the premium model! They met my $0 down and pretty much nailed my monthly payment that I had set my budget for.This was hands down the best and smoothest car buying experience I’ve had. I can’t recommend them enough!

I cannot say enough about Suburban Subaru! We had massive amounts of water come into the car due to the heavy rains and mice getting in to chew tubes and wires. We recently moved from Vernon to Mansfield to take care of my elderly mom who has developed Bulbar’s Palsy. It affects speaking and swallowing which is a horrible way to live. We care for her 18 hours a day, 7 days a week so are very exhausted. We have very little time for such a disaster. The sales manager, Lane, the service manager, Rick and his assistant service manager, Josh, immediately sprung into action. They went above and beyond to take care of me and made sure I didn’t have any extra stress added to my situation. It was the straw that would have broken me, but they made sure this didn’t happen. Even though they are a big, successful business, they never lose sight of customers as individuals. Thank you Suburban Subaru! ❤️

I just want to say that I have never received better customer service in my lifetime. I broke both my rims, and came in to the shop thinking I will spend a ridiculous amount of money. Everyone that worked on my car or had any input in helping me deserves a raise. The service advisor Kristin was fantastic and helped in every way possible. They fixed my car up for a great price AND went above and beyond I couldn’t be more thankful. You have a customer for life .

Let me be honest while having appointment at Subarbun Subaru on 10/20/2021. The guy named Nick was there for us to show the car. We felt super uncomfortable with him and the way he was detailing the sale process.1) First thing, He was not wearing a mask and sneezing all over the desk that we were facing. I understand he doesnt prefer to wear mask, but we do prefer and we have our own rights too to be in safe and comfortable situation. Not all customers are easy in this kind of situation. If he is in the business, he has to think of customers.2) He was not polite. He was not listening to us. He was rude all the time. We were not there to waste his time or ours. I bought one car from you guys and had another friend to buy as well with wonderful experiences. And today we were expecting the same.3) We asked him about the price of the car that we test drive. He is not even willing to say it and just giving us a hypothetical price and not even willing to look at this actually.3) We asked him wether he could show us some other cars, he said he would show only one that is assigned to be. What is that?I know the car market is gonzo, but that doesnt mean seller/detailer has to be mean to the customer.I really wish I had met John Woodnman/or Paul again for this new purchase. My bad!

The Salesperson I dealt with was rude and super aggressive to the point where I just walked out. Pushing me to make a deal and I hadnt even seen the car we were talking about yet. I will never go back and I will blast this dealership every opportunity I get. They do not care about your business. I will say the woman I spoke with when setting up the appointment was fantastic but that is where any warm and fuzziness for this place ends.

Best car buying experience yet. This is the second Subaru I have purchased with John Woodman. I specifically requested to work with him because I appreciate his respectful and direct approach. John didnt just try to sell me any car, he took the time to find me the exact car I wanted while staying within within my budget. Set up an appointment to trade in my car for a new BRZ, seemed nice on the phone, sent me reminders and even called to confirm the appointment. I check in, was told someone would be right with me...45mins later not a single person talked to me. No sorry itll be a bit longer or anything. Turns out this is the place my friend told me the horror story about how the salesman was giving her a hard time and calling her dumb for trying to buy a used car from them for a reasonable price... dont come here, there are better places to spend your money.

I popped unannounced on my way through town to see if they had a gas cap for an old Subaru Forester, as mine had become loose, causing my check engine light to come on. The employees were extremely kind and helpful, they were able to find the part for me very quickly, they cleared my check engine light for me, explained what to expect going forward, and what to look for in case the gas cap was not the main problem. They did a great job talking to my level of understanding; many mechanics in the past have talked down to me, but they did a great job assessing what needed further explanation and communicating it in a way that was not condescending. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Bought a battery for my 2013 Subaru Impreza before it was needed because I had a good coupon. This battery died within a week. I go there and they charge me 100 dollars to clean it and say nothing is wrong with it. My car sputtered a few times with the new battery but would start. Within a month my battery died again. Then again. I now need to get my car towed because I cant get it jumped because it is a defective battery coating me additional 100 dollars. Do not go here for any service on your vehicle. They are the worst mechanic Ive ever been to. I had never had any problems with my car until I replaced my battery with these con artists.Update: They replaced the battery when I went in the second time because it was under warranty and it failed their tests, so why did I pay almost 100 dollars the first time if I was under warranty and how did it pass the test? This battery is already leaking acid. They sell products that arent any good. Go to Meineke or anywhere else with your car. Dont let these people touch your vehicle.

The Subaru manager of the Service Department of New London CT, isn’t nice person. She is yelling when she talks. I was there on Tuesday August 17th, to make appointment. The lady who attends at the front, said ‘you don’t need appointment for this services (Light) . Just you come when your order is ready arrived. Today 8/20/21 she says, ‘you need appointment’ when I insist she passes me with the manager. Who just talked and talked in bad manner. When I say, could You let me talk., she answered me. “ I am the manager ‘ is that correct? I know a lot American people who are really fantastic and over all honest people. Unfortunately this manager isn’t.

Not your typical car dealer mentality. We have all lived that typical car salesman mentality where you feel like you got a good deal until it came to signing the papers. Not at Suburban Subaru, where you will feel like youve been treated fairly and without surprises. I have know staff at Suburban for over 15 years now and have sent multiple customers their way. I have never, in all my years as a customer, regretted this decision. Remember, its not only about the sale of a vehicle, but also the commitment to you as a customer to always be happy and satisfied that the purchase you made will feel like the right decision as long as you own your vehicle. Suburban Subaru is a place you can feel comfortable purchasing your next vehicle without that car salesman feel.

Went for express service for oil change, tire rotation and also check the front right tire as tire pressure kept dropping.They checked the wrong tire and said no leaks and also clearly didnt rotate tires as I continued having the issue in front right tire. Their invoice said tire rotation done which is very unprofessional to lie.Later I got the tire tested in another service center for puncture and fixed within 15 minutes of walk in free of cost.Definitely would not recommend for service.

Went in for 30,000 mile appointment. They recommended to replace tires and windshield wipers. We declined tires and got windshield wipers. Turned out the windshield wipers were covered under warranty. When I went in to pick up the vehicle I asked how could tires need replacement? Service guy said tires wear and tear are not covered under warranty. I asked why were the wipers covered and how could tires need replacement at 30,000 miles. Answer...blank face followed by statement, I dont know why the mechanic choose to show that they urgently needed to be replaced without even looking at the car. #ripoff. Recommend skipping this place. They will sell and service what you dont need....

I went into the showroom today to check out the car. It was a nice drive and we liked some of the features of the car. However, the salesperson that was showing us the car was not very helpful in the process. We had a few questions regarding the car and price but the salesperson brushed off our questions and was not willing to answer them in a proper way. He did not introduce himself thus I do not know his name. He seem very rude at times when answering the questions we had. I was interested in the car but I wanted more information on pricing and features which the salesperson wasnt providing. Overall the car was nice but the experience I received there wasnt the best.Even when we tried to ask the price he said it all online check there. How come I can know the features which was there in the car. He could have explained us which he seemed was not interested in telling us. I mean who does that when we came to showroom and asking for the price. He just said its all online and we do no negotiation. Also he said you can checkout other cars outside on ither companies lots and if you like any other then no point of talking on trade in and all.Now I am reaching Bertera Suburu for since I loved the drive and car

Giving them one star more than they deserve because the car was a good deal and the staff that I worked with were kind and helpful up until I had multiple paperwork issues with the vehicle once I took it home.Once I took the car home, via an in-transit plate back to my home state, I was called by my insurance agent a couple of days later asking if the car had been registered yet. What do you mean? I asked, my sales rep Bill told me that the car was all set and the paperwork was being processed.Upon further investigation we were told that the process to register the car hadnt been started until two days after I took the car home. I also learned that the in-transit plate they gave me was illegal in my state. All in all it took them over a week to register my car, after filling out the paperwork incorrectly the first time. Its important to note that all of this information was relayed to me by my insurance agent from their GM, so it goes to show just how transparent theyre willing to be with their customers.Next issue came along today, when my first payment is coming up for the car and I have had no communication from the bank, so I call up Suburbans finance department and Tierra gives me the number for the bank that is hosting the loan, no problem. After 30 minutes of being on hold, and getting directed through 3 different folks because I was given the wrong phone number, I was told that they had put some random mailing address down to get my initial documents, and its not like it was relatively close to what I wrote down, it was in another town entirely.So after all of this frustration, yes the car was a great deal, but if youre choosing to go one dealership vs. another that has the same car, Id go somewhere else because the staff at Suburban are either understaffed or not paying attention to anything theyre doing.

I have never had a bad experience in dealing with the service center. They can get busy at times and it may require a little bit of a wait, but they are always courteous and friendly. The bay area or service garage entrance is always super clean which is great but strange as cars are going in all day long, so it just proves their attention to detail and the customer experience. We had an excellent experience at this dealership. We were in the market for an older reliable vehicle and spotted one on their website. My husband went to view it in person at the dealership and was greeted immediately by Justin U. who was courteous and informative without being pushy. I joined my husband later in the day at Suburban to see it for myself, and loved the vehicle, so we worked out the paperwork with Justin. He was able to find us financing that we could work with. When we went to pick up the vehicle the following day, Tierra S. informed us that she had discovered a better financing deal for us, and we found that we were able to roll an extended warranty into the auto loan for an even lower monthly payment than before, which was great since the car was being sold as is because it was 10 years old. We will be using this dealership again in the future!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Everything started out great the General Sales Manager and I chatted and put everything together agreed on numbers. Sales person sent me pictures of the vehicle. They delivered the vehicle to me. When it came to the financing we already had a price worked out for GAP insurance, then the finance manager tries to tell me me its gonna cost more than what I was quoted. after we got that sorted out when the paperwork was brought out to me they tried to stuff ETCH into my contract without my consent and said that it is on every vehicle. After getting that fixed because I live in NH they wouldnt allow me to register my own vehicle. I said ok. I bought the car on April 26th, and to this day a month later I still dont have my registration. I have reached out to the Sales Person, and the General Sales Manager in regards to my registration status and I get the run around of we use a third party. Someone will reach out to you. To this day I have no Idea on where in the process my registration is. I bought a Brand New STI and I cant even drive it now my registration is expired. I had to make accommodations for my transportation for my work commute. The last I heard the General Sales Manager told me on Weds they would overnight me a new temporary plate to drive on till registered. That was weds now its Friday and I still dont have it. I would steer clear of these people as they will treat you like a number once they get your money and survey. I have to say being in the same industry I am very disappointed with the lack of follow up and they way im being put on the back burner. I now have a beautiful paper weight I have to stare at that Ive already started making payments on that I cant drive.update on this, were a month and a half in almost and only now do I get a tracking number where I have to go to my town hall, when all of this could be avoided and they could have just met me up there when they delivered my car. I have to now take additional time off of work just to pick up my reg. The GM stated to me i dont have to pick it up right away, but what they dont realize is in NH you have to get an inspection within 7 days of being registered. and I wont be off till next week. THen he tried to tell me this is a bad situation for both of us saying they lost money on me, when I was an easy customer being in this business and knowing they made money on the vehicle, the financing reserve, and I told them I would give them profit on GAP. Then he tells me it wasnt intentional and we dont mistreat are customers, when the finance department tried to stuff product into my contract without my consent which is illegal and tried to raise the price on the GAP. Steer clear of this place. I will never reccomend anyone I know here.

Without a doubt, Suburban Subaru, extended themselves to earn our business.As soon as we walked in the door on a cold, wet day, coffee and tea were placed in our hands.We then sat down for conversation with sales representative Michele Wilson, who attentively listened to our wish list, contentiously taking notes, and checking inventory in an attempt to find possible matches. We walked the lot with Michele, getting a feel for appropriate selection, but it wasn’t the best night (by that time) for a test drive.The next day, we received a phone call checking on our experience.It is obvious that Suburban Subaru CARES and LISTENS!Not only did we have a helpful in store rep with Michele, now we had additional attention from Janel Rease,Internet Sales Specialist! Janel made email communication so easy, during a stressful time when phone calls were impossible for us. She was especially prompt with emailed answered to our questions, provided links to possible choices, and was always only minutes response time away!When we made it back to Suburban for a test drive, our power team of Michele and Janel had already arranged for a “sleep over” with a Forester. We had been coached by our financial institution to ask for “an overnight”, and that they offered, before we had to ask, speaks a lot to the confidence of their vehicles.Subaru makes great products, there is no doubt.That Suburban Subaru donates to Fidelco for every new vehicle sold, is a great and admirable connection.We especially love the Dog Commercials~!Our SUV Shopping experience with Suburban Subaru became very positive. I was not in the market for a new car. My boyfriend, being a Subaru enthusiast, had me fall in love with the brand a long time ago. But my car, a 2003 Honda Civic could still keep going. I intended on purchasing a Subaru in late 2017, while saving up for a down payment.On Monday morning, everything changed. My Honda, despite snow tires and careful driving, fell victim to the ice, slush, and snow. With no ABS, the car locked up, and the vehicle was sent into a rock wall. Both airbags deployed.With the Honda totaled, I had to find a car quickly. This was the most stressful car search ever, as I knew I needed to walk off the lot with something, yet did not have a large down payment established. It was my first car buying experience ever, and I felt overwhelmed by everything. Suburban was the closest, and having been there before, I was familiar with the lot and the area. We made an appointment the evening before, and arrived about 3 hours early. My boyfriend decided to get an oil change done, and we figured we would walk around to see what options were available.Despite us being hours early, I was able to work with my assigned salesperson, Alexio Cardona. We enjoyed some hot cocoa while he finished up in a meeting, and the dealership felt relaxed and welcoming. I was admittedly very on edge given the situation, but the warm cocoa definitely helped.Alexio was exactly the salesperson we needed. I had already felt pressured, as I needed a vehicle in a pinch (note: I didnt even admit any of this until everything was finalized). But Alexio did not pressure us at all. The test drive was very relaxed, and even when we began to talk about vehicle pricing, I felt comfortable voicing what I wanted to pay for the car (and he did help out and cut down on the price a little - it was already a great deal to start with). It wasnt a stressful experience at all, and I felt in control the entire time. Having been to other dealers in the past (Anchor Subaru in RI), this was a breath of fresh air.Unfortunately, I cannot recall the name of the financing person I worked with, but she was absolutely incredible and genuine and made the worst part of car buying a breeze. There was no pressure. She advised the bumper to bumper warranty and gap insurance, but was able to get me a better rate with that (so in the end, it all evened out). I understand those things can occasionally be gimmicky at other dealers. But she worked with me, listened to me, and let me see the numbers as she entered them and compare. Being a first time car buyer, it can be so easy to be/feel duped. Given the circumstances, I anticipated this to be one of the most stressful experiences. But it was the exact opposite!I drove off the lot in a certified pre-owned Impreza, exactly in my price range, with peace of mind through the bumper to bumper warranty and gap insurance. I am thrilled with the vehicle and the entire car buying experience, and give nothing but my highest recommendation to the amazing staff at Suburban! Thank you to Alexio and the Suburban staff for making a very stressful situation so much better!UPDATE 6/30/17:Second oil change Ive gotten done. Admittedly it was a little past due and I decided to swing by after work to get it done. The express service was beyond my expectations! Not only did they change my oil, but they replaced my fog light that had gone out...for free!I had planned on doing it myself, but am thrilled that I dont have to now! So I brought my car in this past Saturday to have two headlight bulbs replaced, easy fix right? Well not at Suburban. I drove my car Sunday night and when I turned on the headlights,the drivers side light was pointing at the opposite side of the road and the passenger side light was pointing anywhere but straight ahead! They were both perfectly fine before they were replaced. I had more light coming from my fog lights then my headlights! I called Monday and explained the situation and they told me to come in when i had time and they would take care of it. Before they took the car in I asked that they have a experienced tech work on it, not the 18-20 yr old that screwed them up the last time. 15 minutes later the car is back out and another young man gets out of it. I asked the service representative so what was wrong and how did it happen. She tells me well we have Lincoln tech trainees working here and he didnt do the job correctly the first time. Oh really? Just who I want working on my car some trainee and if he is going to work on it there is such a thing as supervision to make sure the job is done correctly. I work 12 hrs a night and dont appreciate having to get up early (on 5 hrs sleep) to go back because they cant supervise these inexperienced techs and make sure the job was done right the first time. Good thing it wasnt something more critical, like a brake job etc.I highly recommend you go somewhere else to have your car repaired, that is unless they can guarantee you an experienced tech will be doing the work. There are too many other reputable dealers and mechanics to be bothered with this type of situation again.

We werent happy with the trade in value they got for my car, we told him that, and he got another $1000 of value for us! My car was registered out of state, so it took John some extra work for my trade in but he did it all without complaint, and still went above and beyond for me. I was paying cash for the difference, they sent a finance person to try and convince me to finance, but she took my no answer the first time and didnt push, which I very much appreciated. It can be such a pain to car shop and work with a dealership, but I had such an incredible experience working with John. Id do it all again tomorrow if I wasnt planning on keeping this car til it doesnt run anymore. John showed me the ins and outs of the car, told me everything I need to know and I know if I have any questions, he would be there for me. 10/10 would buy again- not to mention, the 2021 Crosstrek is amazing!

These folks are awesome! I went to several dealerships before them and was just about to give up on a Subaru before visiting this location. The gentleman at the front desk immediately addressed me despite being very busy. Our salesman, John, was extremely patient while I figured out the best Outback for my family. I am sorry to say, I forgot the name of the woman who helped us with our financing but she was also truly amazing- professional and kind. I would recommend this location 100 times over. I’m ecstatic about my purchase and can’t wait to show it off to my friends and family.

After purchasing my car from Suburban Subaru last year and having a great service experience, I was confident this would be the only location I would be bringing my car for future services. Unfortunately my experience today might have changed that.After 30 minutes my car was taken outside to the pickup area. After another 30 minutes of the car just standing outside I inquired if my services were complete - a standard oil change and tire rotation- I was told that the Customer Service Rep “didn’t know” and for a good 10-15 minutes, it seemed no one knew if my car was ready to go or not.Not only was it a long, frustrating wait with poor internal communication, I noticed oil had been spilled both on the interior and exterior of my car.

I went with my mom for her oil change and the work done was fast and great but it was the management and the treatment of the workers that makes this place so unpleasant to be in. I had to watch a manager curse up a storm at a worker over a slice of pizza when the worker wasnt even arguing then a few days, when i went with my dad for his car, I watch a different another guy (i think a manager Im not sure) just push a worker while telling him to go home and never come back then finally tell him he been waiting to fire him since they fired another worker. This place has good moments but the times Ive been there make my family and I hesitant to go back

This 1 star is for the finance department. I needed to cancel my gap insurance because I paid off my car. Went there and spoke with Tierra. She took my information. I emailed her the documents she needed to process my cancelation. She said that she will process it the next day. 3 months later, I keep calling and emailing, leaving voice-mail, she never got back to me. Come to find out, she never did it. I had to call the gap insurance myself and get it done. Very unprofessional.

So there seems to be some wildly bizarre 1 and 2 star reviews of suburban Subaru. Obviously I cant speak for other people, however my experience there was very good and extremely painless. I showed up in the middle of a week towards the late afternoon with the intention of trading in my truck. I was introduced to Bruce by the owner and the process of trading in the truck, test driving the new vehicle, negotiating the price and working with the finance manager took less than 3 hours. The only issue that I had was the registration. But that wasnt on Suburban Subaru, that was on the third party title agency that they use, Reg USA. Since I am not a Connecticut resident, thank you baby Jesus, my registration had to be ordered from my State of residency, which is about five thousand miles away. Unfortunately took 61 days to get my registration and I felt that the communication between Suburban Subaru, Reg USA, the DMV, and myself was pretty broken. I wouldnt take off a star for this, but I became very frustrated towards the last week before I got the registration when trying to get answers from the title manager at Suburban. Im not saying it was their fault, but unfortunately I couldnt get answers from the DMV or Reg USA, so I was a little frustrated. Overall would I go back and buy another car from them? Without a doubt.

They talk horrible about customers to co workers and make jokes regarding other customers. whole dealership needs to learn how to give proper customer service. I just purchased my 3rd Subaru from Suburban Subaru, a 2019 Subaru Ascent Limited. By far the best Subaru I have ever owned. My portfolio includes a ’83 GL 2 door hatch, ’06 OB, ’12 Legacy, ’08 OB XT, ’08 Forester, ’16 WRX, and a ’19 Forester. Every time I go there, I am immediately greeted at the door. The staff is very friendly and because they are on salary pay, the buying experience is relaxed. Sales representatives take their time informing you rather than forcing it upon you. The first car I purchased from Suburban Subaru was the ’16 WRX. I traded in my WRX for a ’19 Forester Limited because my Ankylosing Spondylitis was making it difficult to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission. I accumulate a lot of miles and having the assurance of the industry’s best safety features reduces the stress of driving. Unfortunately, I was in an accident and the car was totaled. When I had to replace my Forester, I was having some difficulty because I had co-signed for my niece and the forester was still reflected on my credit so it looked like I owed a lot of money and had too many loans. I need a safe and reliable car because I have regular appointments at the VA. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Suburban Subaru, Pete Krause, after he heard that a Veteran was in need of help. Coincidently, Pete Krause is a Veteran himself and a West Point graduate. When Pete told me not to worry because they were going to take care of me, I knew I was in the right place. The Suburban team has always come through for me and got me into the car I wanted every time. If you’re in the market for a vehicle, check these guys out.

I was kind of in a time crunch finding a new vehicle and John was very attentive, he helped me calmly and thoroughly go through all my options. I had a great car buying experience here. My first day there I wasnt in the best of moods, but my salesperson Amanda Minor quickly turned that around. She was super friendly and helpful. After just a couple minutes I knew I was coming back to actually look for a car and knew she was the person I wanted to see. Even though she had only been there a few months her knowledge was incredible and personality even better. I drove up to Suburban Subaru to look at a used Mazda I found online. I brought my friend who is a mechanic and the deal was that if the car passed our inspection, Id buy it on the spot. Bill A. was awesome. The car was awesome. Manny was awesome. I honestly was surprised with the level of service I was given . This is my second Subaru, first from Suburban. After my first purchase over the Mass line, I started going to Suburban for oil changes and service. Read the reviews, the service people here are simply the best and thats why I decided to buy here. If you are buying, go see Bill A. He made the whole experience easy. He is a nice guy, and after about ten minutes with him, you will thank me. A month after the purchase and Ive returned to get a hitch installed a few weeks ago, and today I needed a new tire installed after a nail in the sidewall. No appointment today, just rolled in. They look busy, but they really get you in and out fast, and you will not find nicer people in any service department ANYWHERE!!! Thanks Pete, you have an amazing team.

I know a Subaru dealer isn’t what most people would think of when looking for a truck but they had a pretty good selection of used trucks and they had exactly what I was looking for! Bill A. helped me out a lot. It was my first time buying a vehicle from a dealership and he was fantastic with showing me everything they had on the lot that met the criteria I was looking for. He also did a fantastic job making me feel comfortable in my first car buying experience and I couldn’t be happier with the truck I drove off the lot!
