James has done work on 2 of our vehicles. Both times he has done excellent work. He is professional and I feel more confident in his repairs than I do getting work done at my local dealership. He takes pride in his work. He takes pictures of bad or aging parts where applicable so you can see why the part(s) need replacing. He uses only new genuine factory parts which I appreciate. I would be very comfortable recommending James to anyone. It is also very convenient to have him do all the work at my home.

I called him to replace my cars battery, and he also noted that the reason the hood didnt open when you pull the handle inside the car was because the cable had snapped. So he replaced the battery that day, and called a few days later to schedule a time to fix the broken cable after he found the parts needed. Didnt show up the first day when he told me 6:30pm. Waited around. Texted him and called him. Didnt get back to me till 9pm. He said he could make it the next day at 10am. The next day at 10am he said he can be there at 10:40am. Showed up and put the belt on that I needed. Seemed nice but waiting around hours for a 20 min fix wasnt worth it.

My car battery was dead (10 yr old battery!) and the terminals were shot. Since Chrysler likes to put car batteries in the most ridiculous of places, I was not able to replace this myself. James had to jack up the car, drop the battery from underneath and he replaced the terminals and put anti-corrosive gel on the new terminals and battery to ensure a clean future. Very professional, very knowledgeable and had some funny automotive stories to share.

Had an issue with my car not wanting to start even with a jump. James promptly came out within hour of calling him. He evaluated my car and the experiences Id had with it recently. Was able to get it started up and he checked everything out for me. Determined issue was with the battery Id replaced recently and not the starter/alternator like Id feared. He was able to get me back on the road in under an hour. I went back to where I got the battery, they verified that it wasnt working properly and I swapped it out.

I have only inquired about prices, so I cant speak about actual mechanical service. But they responded promptly, they were courteous, and prices were average to the area.

James himself answered; immediately impressed. I already knew what work needs to be done on my vehicle. Nevertheless, James informed me he has a mandatory $120 diagnostic fee before any additional costs or work begins. I confirmed hed charge me the fee even if I just needed a $5 hose replaced. I politely passed. I was only looking at mobile mechanics as my car is non-mobile at the moment.

Excellent service. James replaced the starter on my sons 97 Mazda 626....a particularly difficult repair that I didnt want to take on myself. Its VERY nice to have James come to your home and do the work inside your own garage rather than having to tow your vehicle elsewhere when its inoperative. James replied very quickly when I called, came out the same day to diagnose the problem and got the job done promptly. Hes clearly very honest and professional and will give you a fair price for the work done. He also guarantees his work. I highly recommend him.

James did a great job replacing my thermostat in my 05 Mazda 3. It was great to have him come to my house and simply work in the garage while I was here. James would be indispensable for our familys needs even if he werent a very good mechanic -- the convenience of having someone come to your house (especially when youre a stay at home parent with two kids and only one car) is too good to pass up. On top of that, James is an excellent, honest mechanic with a knack for explaining what is actually going on with the car. I know next-to-nothing about cars, but I like understanding a bit more about what a mechanic is doing beyond a bunch of jargon. Its hard to believe such awesome service exists when there are so many crappy-yet-thriving mechanics all over the place. If you live in the area, you would be nuts not to take advantage of this business.

As a busy mom and business owner my oil light had been on for too long and my husband had needed his cars oil changed for a while too. I had got a Mazda B4000 truck that needed some work. I called James and he came out to my shop and looked at the truck. He gave me a quote for the work that was very reasonable. I have to give James 3 stars. I had him come take a look at my car with an agreement that it would be $120 for him to come diagnose why it wouldnt start. However, he failed to provide a diagnosis and left saying he would call me back later that day after doing research to figure out the problem. Well, I never heard back from him. That was friday morning, its now almost Monday afternoon. Luckily I was able to get the car to turn over. So now its in a shop. I cant really complain about James because since there was no diagnosis I gess he didnt feel the need to ask me for money but then again I never heard back from him.. Lack of communication with your customers is always a bad thing.

Okay, I just wanted to say James is a very helpful, kind, and very precise when diagnosing my vehicle I drive a 2001 Saturn S-Series and last Sunday my car literally shut off fearing it might of been a damaged fuel pump and James took a look and told me my vehicle needed a new alternator which he was able to install a new one in no time, overall his service I was not disappointed. He managed to get my car up and running literally 10 minutes before I had to leave for work. I appreciate your service James we need more good helpful people like you. :)

I had just moved here from out of state and my car wouldnt start. I didnt have anyone around to help me get to and from a shop and juggle my very young children. He came to my home the same day I called and fixed everything in an hour. He charges half of what the other mobile auto shop in this area does for diagnostics. I cant reccomend him enough!

I honestly discovered the most life saving service for us mamas. Car troubles are the worst and its awful having to wait at a mechanics with kids needing naps etc. Hes an amazing and honest mechanic who comes to your home and does all the work there. Our 99 Ford Ranger XLT sat for over a year and a half without running. We called James and he was here and diagnosed the problem right away and was able to get us a new fuel pump for a great price and install it the very next day. Called james late on Super bowl sunday as my wifes car would not start and i was leaving town the next morning at 6:00 AM. James was at our house before 9:00 AM on monday, diagnosed the issue and had the car repaired with 1 1/2 hours. Great Sevice.

I highly recommend him for any mechanical job that hes willing to take!He helped me with a very difficult situation: my truck would run normally for one to several hours, and then with almost no notice the engine would stall and the truck wouldnt start again for several more hours... after which time it would start again and run seemingly normally. A large retail-chain auto garage had already charged me $500 to replace components that had nothing to do with the problem, gave the truck back to me, then was perplexed when the truck broke down on me again. Best of all, this was happening right at the start of the three-day Labor Day weekend holiday, which meant most businesses were closed until Tuesday. The big garage couldnt figure the problem out, so after an internet search for highly-rated local mechanics, I discovered James and turned to him for help.James drove out to my location, listened very attentively to the symptoms I described, thoughtfully conducted some tests and examinations on my truck, and then was very forthright in telling me that this was a bizarre problem that hed need to research for a couple of days on his own. He did his research, which included both reading on his own and also talking to contacts of his, and then got back to me with a preliminary diagnosis that it was either a sensor problem or the fuel pump.The next day he returned to my location, hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to my engine, confirmed that fuel pressure appeared to be normal, and allowed me to drive him around in my truck for over an hour while we waited for the mysterious problem to re-appear. Finally the engine began to sputter, we pulled over, James leapt out to check the fuel pressure gauge, and confirmed that it was now extremely low. Problem isolated: a fuel pump that works while its cool, fails when its been working long enough to get hot, and then regains normal functionality when allowed to fully cool down again.The next day James was able to replace my fuel pump, after which my truck ran dependably again, and charged me an extremely reasonable amount for the parts and his labor. James is an extremely honest, efficient, capable, and sincere mechanic. If youre in trouble and youre in the Portland/Vancouver area, call James!
