Ok at putting tires on, basically rude and expensive. They do not stand behind their work. Brought my bike back 4 separate time to fix the clutch. They replaced the clutch, the cables and everything associated with it. Kept my bike three weeks almost each time I brought it in. After the last time I brought it back for the clutch still slipping, after all this work and about 1600 hundred dollars, I drove out and when I got it home i couldn’t leave because they clutch slipped again. I went back and after all this work the old guy who teaches the bike class acted like he didn’t remember me or the bike. He suggestion was to fill out paperwork and bring it back in. Acted like a whole new problem was occurring. They will never touch my bike again. I would rather pay another company to repair it . Avoid this incompetent motorcycle repair shop!Just an update. Tampa Elite Repair Shop picked up my bike and within 5 minutes diagnosed a bad master slave cylinder. Now I wonder if the clutch was really needing to be repaired. Again avoid Kirkland Motorcycle shop!
Roy Kirkland is one of the wises motorcycle men Ive ever came across..At first he may come across as a old buzzard, but after two days of the safety course class you will learn that this is among one of the best old school teachers alive.if you dont feel this way you just need to find your own type of people, cause ignorance and stupidity is not in his teaching..Thank you Roy for your time and wisdom..God Bless the riders!!!!!!!!!
Roy was the best very personable would recommend and he will get all my business.
Brought my bike in because it was burning oil and wasn’t starting right after taking two weeks to try and figure out what was wrong he said it needed a deep engine clean I’m thinking that mean tune up after two weeks he explained to me the bike was fine after a deep clean and new battery after charging me $735 I asked why so high he said it was really dirty took the bike home it road good for a week then wouldn’t start up again he said bring the battery to him to see if it was down which should’ve have been because it was a new battery the battery was swollen clearly damaged it took him three days to give the battery back then said it could be another problem that would cost me another $500 not a good business to go to not to mention he’s walking around with a gun visible makes it very uncomfortable
Roy Kirkland gives good, honest advise and service. Nice facility. Have used to service my bikes for 4 years now.
Great service. I would recommend to every biker who needs a decent service or new bikers who need to take the motorcycle riding course.
I am new to bikes and I have a lightweight one. I am trying to feel my way around this whole biking / Florida lifestyle. I brought my bike in here a few weeks ago to have someone listen the engine. So far, so good, they did a quick look and fixed it in five minutes. No charge. I know that is to get me to come back but you know what it worked.
Brought my bike in for a repair. There was a bit of damage caused to my bike purely on accident. After the fact, I cannot tell you how accommodating the owner was. Instead of trying to hide it, he was the one that brought it to my attention. He immediately offered to take care of the issue immediately and did so in a very timely manner. To put it bluntly, I was shocked. He is an honest businessman and a man of his word.Help an honest small business out!! BRING THEM YOUR BUSINESS! Theyll take good care of your bike, their prices are fair and they dont make guys like Mr. Kirkland anymore!Hes earned my business going forward.
Owner is very funny and helpful. Enjoy coming here each and every time.
Ive been going to Kirkland for a couple years. They always take care of everything my bike needs and nothing it doesnt. Roy is very thorough in explaining the services and helping you understand how to properly maintain your bike. Service is fast. Prices are always good and they throw in a small service discount here and there when I get everything done at once. If you dont hassle them they wont hassle you:)Some things Ive had done here include oil, spark plugs, tires, brakes, axle bearings, cam gaskets, chain and sprockets, battery, etc. Pretty much every regular maintenance you can think of and no problems yet.I think a lot of people can be turned off by the casual nature of the shop. The owner likes to joke around and hes got a big rabbit that comes to work with him. The owner open carries at work, which may make some feel uncomfortable. None of these things make them bad mechanics.
Roy is a man of his word, and will give you the same respect you give him. Im very thankful for all the work he has done to my bike which had not been running for a long time do to a few issue and had been sitting outside for too long. I come to know for almost 1 year now this summer coming. Roy thank for your hard work, your patience, and for working with me to get me, and my 83 Goldwing back on the road again!!! God Bless you my brotha!!! 🙏👍 👍
Took my bike to this shop as my motorcycle battery was not charging, Roy told me bad Stator and relay and he charged me $440 to replace both (rip off). I also ended up putting a new battery he told me to replace it, cost me $50. I drove bike back home and it died on highway. I paid $200.00 for towing to bring bike back to them. Roy said it was bad Stator as they buy from eBay, so they put another one.. 2 days later same problem, battery died again. Finally I took my bike to Suzuki dealer in Tampa, turns out to be a bad ground wire. $20 job turned out to be $650.00 job for me. Over Charging clients for no reason. This is not an ethical way to do business. They will tell you all kind of stories what is wrong with your bike just to charge you extra.
It was a pleasure doing business with Roy and his staff. He is very knowledgeable about motorcycles and the process of procuring parts for an older bike and getting them squared-away. He services everything from: scooters, quads, to modern fuel-injected sports bikes and cruisers. If you need a motorcycle endorsement and CCW endorsement, you can also get that done there! I would go back for any future motorcycle needs.
After calling around a few places I landed here. GOD is good. They were not only affordable but honest. Im only writing this review because they deserve it. Im not going anywhere else
Just, dont go here. Dont go for training. Dont go to have your bike worked on. These guys are not your friends, and theyll over charge and bully you for everything. They all wear guns at their sides and all times, and the guy at the register, Roy, joked about shooting me two different times. This isnt a friendly place, and they do poor quality work. I had them sync my carburators, and when I got my bike back, almost a week later, it ran worse at high rpms. They said they synced it, but I think they synced it at idle. They said if they looked at it again, it would be an $80/hour charge. Nice. When I said that didnt seem fair, I was hung up on.
Very friend and knowledgeable crew. My husband got trained and license from the coach there only.
Staff was very knowledgable about my bike. Service was great and had me in and out in a short time. Mechanic did a great job and was very friendly. I will only take my bike here
Great shop all around! great people who know what they are doing. go check them out for sure!!!
I took my basic riders course here it was excellent taught me everything I needed to know an some maneuvers that have already saved me from a real bad day. got my first bike soon after its a gsxr 600 took it here as soon as I could to get an inspection. They were very helpful on informing me of everything I would need to know about my bike and how to maintain it properly.Im Definitely coming back here and would recommend this place to anyone.
Need a great shop-> this is it. Independent & reliable, no B.S.!
Knowledgeable staff and they will work on you.
The worst motorcycle mechanics ever, dont go to kirkland. These guys actually dont know how to repair motorcycles correctly, but will overcharged you. This shop did more damage to my bike working on it, the original issue was just a $10 relay. These guys charged me close to $500 dollars. I wish I wouldve read the reviews. My bike is still broken down, I am unable to ride it........
In a word incompetent. BTW, they tried to pull the same Ebay stator replacement on me and it never worked properly from the day I drove off. The charges were not all that cheap either $450. I checked the output at the battery and it never got over 12.1 volts with a supposed new stator (should be 14.5 volts). Then they could not get a replacement from the Ebay vendor and started to imply it was my fault. Fortunately I had a signed receipt from them with a 1 year warranty. I literally told them, I didnt order the parts. I have a warranty. Stator output should be 14.5 V - its not charging, which is what I brought in to be fixed. They they stalled for 2 months saying the parts were On the way...I finally got fed up and went there and said so. I told them I can wait no longer and gave them an out - refund my money (cheaper for them than fixing it so they said) and Ill go elsewhere. Took it to Suzuki dealer and for $140 more it was fixed perfectly and other things they screwed up were fixed also. The problem with them is they really are not a professional MC repair shop. They dont have the reputation and buying power it takes to get quality parts wholesale. The mechanic has no factory training. It is the owners son and he is just a guy who works on MCs.I know a lot of people like to exaggerate and say, Worst experience of my life, which when I see that in reviews I think how absurd that is. But I can say that in my 45 years of cycling that this was the worst MC repair experience I ever have had by far AND you have to listen to the fat bald guy with a gun mumble his insults under his breath. Well I guess you can say they dont know what they are doing but at least they are incredibly rude. BTW,. I am a retired Mechanical Engineer.
Shifter mounting snapped off after bike got laid down. Ordered the part all they had to do was put it on as a 10 minute job they charged a full hour, which I didn’t think was fair but whatever. Cost almost $300 to replace one piece on the outside that only needed 2 bolts removed then put back.
Roy, the owner, is super cool and knows his stuff; Brian, the tech, is a wiz. This is my go-to shop.
Great school. Highly recommended
Fair and honest service and the best motorcycle class in Tampa Bay.
Staff is very knowledgeable and gets you back on the road in no time and prices are great
Great place where the employees work with you and beside you thru the process but as with any motorcycle shop you have the very few that want you to put make up on a pig but has no money to spend it dont work like that motorcycles are expensive
Im a daily rider and my bike is my only vehicle. Ive been riding bikes in the Tampa area for the past 15 years and Ive been to a lot of bike places, this by far is the worst Ive ever been to. I dropped off a pair of tires to get changed the next day on my CBR. When I got there, with the metal showing on my tires the bald guy behind the counter started lecturing me on showing up at 3:30PM, the time I agreed on with the guy behind the counter the previous day. He said that if his mechanic dies in rush hour traffic because he had to stay a half hour later to put on my tires, it would be my fault. I couldnt believe what I was hearing considering I support a family of four and have a motorcycle to travel back and forth in rush hour traffic, 5 days a week on top of that I needed new tires bad! When I thanked the mechanic he just grunted at me. The people who work here live in their own world. If you care about yourself and the people who depend on you take your bike some where else.
Great place good prices i support them
DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE!! $800 later and the bike doesnt run. Bike was in there 2 times and both times stopped working immediately after leaving. I do not believe they have actual motorcycle mechanics at this shop. They are negligent in their repairs. Next shop found rocker arm laying in motor. Save yourself the money and frustration. Deal with a place with real mechanics.
I just called and they said nothing for a good ten seconds then hung up.
It will take time but it will work
Roy took time to find the right tires for my scooter.
Going out of business soon.
Horrible service that took forever to fix my bike and at the end my bike wasnt even starting it was problem after problem after problem and when I took the bike and it didnt have that many problems overall just horrible service
He(Roy) helped me the getting the bike towed and get it checked for the problem without any charge for diagnosis.
