Buyers beware! They are not honest about charges that are tacked on. We were told we would be financing a $21,000 car. Come to find out there was a $4,000 fee snuck in there that we were never told about making it actually $26,000 at the end. During signing this was never brought up, the finance guy just handed us an ipad and told to sign where prompted. Shady business practice and living up to the slimy used car sales stereotype. Go anywhere else if you want to be treated with respect and honesty.

Don’t waste your time they will. It call you back, if you are out of town. Did online credit app and got 7 hard pulls and not even a courtesy call back I called them no less than 10 times. If I didn’t qualify for a car at least let me know don’t just ignore me.

I didn’t end up purchasing a vehicle through Hertz but, at no time did I ever feel pressured to buy a car like most dealerships. I worked with Cory and he did a great job trying to find the right car for me. He was down to earth and didn’t use typical salesman tactics. Jim also helped out a little. He came up with an idea to get me the exact car I wanted even though it wasn’t even on the lot. Even though we didn’t come to and agreement on price, I enjoyed the experience. Hertz in Tampa was awesome. Worked with sales associate Jade Foster and she was fantastic. No pressure, no real sales pitches. Felt very comfortable working with her. She just tried to make an expensive & stressful (to me anyway) purchase easy and painless. Highly recommend her if you head up there. The dealership overall is very laidback and they all seemed to work well with the customers. No sales folks roaming the lot. No complaints at all.

Good service. Bought my Rogue last week from Hertz and its been great so far. Would recommend this place to all, they dont pressure you. Im used to going to dealerships where they look at you like a dollar sign, and Hertz was the complete opposite. Rafael Pena was great during the whole transaction and kept me updated with vehicle details and made sure things were handled accordingly.

The only reason I am giving two stars, is because of Jade F. (she deserves 5 stars) but in order to express how frustrated I am, I will leave it at 2 stars.Over a course of two days and getting ready to sign, I am told there is an additional 2k fee that was not agreed upon during my discussion with the finance manager. And in the words of the sales manager (Matthew) “I don’t know what to tell ya, I don’t have 2k just laying around.” Not only would this not have been an issue had I known about the ACTUAL cost, I would have left with a car I loved. However, I can’t justify doing business with a dealership that has someone discussing finances that isn’t competent in doing so.Jade, thank you for your patience and help. You were a pleasure to work with. In addition, every time you left your desk to help, I had to listen to your manager scream your name to come to him instead of him just getting up to see that you were helping a customer. It was odd and uncomfortable.

Everything you hate about car shopping. Go elsewhere.This place is one of the worst places Ive ever experienced in 40 years of buying cars. the personnel were rude and condescending, and downright liars.The process was long and exhausting, and they will try and trick you into thinking you have no other options.They seem to exist solely to take advantage of people who are less fortunate and cannot understand their tactics and high pressure outdated sales technique.The vehicles are mostly in horrible condition or damaged, and they will try and sell you every warranty, rust and dust and paint and fab they can find.Dont fall for the trickery at this location, and most important, dont buy anything here.Go to a real dealership, not a used rent-a-car place with second rate managers and sales people.Too many other choices.

Dont do it if you are looking for an upper-scale vehicle. Anything more than $10,000 take your money to private party or find a luxury dealership with private party trade ins. Hertz specializes in lower grade, used vehicles. There is a lack of both knowledge and transparency at Hertz in regards to more expensive vehicles. If you are looking to spend more than $10,000 go somewhere that atleast details the car before you pull it off the lot.

I would have preferred to leave a great review, but unfortunately we had an experience I think is worth posting. We drove from out of state and arranged time off with extra days to buy a vehicle we had been searching for a long time. We knew it may not be perfect, but what we hoped for was good customer service and an effort to make the car as presentable as possible for sale. We understand the challenges in the market to make things happen on time and to meet expectations. All it would have taken is proper management and a bit of organization which they do not have.When we arrived, although they recognized the car needed new tires, they failed to do a quick inspection of the interior. As soon as I opened the door I noticed an empty beer can and trash in the rear of the vehicle, along with dirt and other debris. This means they were preparing to rent this vehicle to me without even vacuuming or wiping down the interior since the last rental. In light of all the other precautions they take - face masks on each sales person, sanitizer readily available and notice regarding COVID 19, they take no care in basic cleaning the products they are preparing to sell. In addition, the car had many small dents, paint damage, and a torn seat. We agreed to leave the vehicle to have a paint touch up done on the vehicle the following day knowing that we were scheduled to leave town the following day after that. We prepared to return later the following afternoon to pickup the vehicle and got an email and call saying the team had made a mistake with the wet paint and it needed to be touched up again but would be ready the following morning. We reluctantly agreed knowing our time was running short but hoping 3rd time would be in much better condition. We arrived this morning to the following: car NOT ready even after the stated time, still a wet top coat, and a poor top coat at that. The mistake from the previous day was due to the detail crew operating in close proximity to the paint touch up crew. 1- why would the manager not organize this work to be done offsite or in a cleaner location, 2- why would the crews not recognize the risk of damaging the finish? 3- why would they try the next day to do again outdoors in high winds??? And then to know we were driving out of town on the highway with a wet top coat. All said, with so many mistakes in preparing the vehicle, we did not feel comfortable purchasing the vehicle. A new top coat and possible paint touch up would have been required when we arrived home. The manager pretended he had no responsibility in the matter. Another thing purchasers should be aware of in advance - they only give you one key - they are not even organized enough to provide the 2nd key . All in all, this type of purchase is risky. We would not advise purchasing at this location.

I read the reviews about their car breaking down after a month. Ive had my 2016 Sentra for a month and a half now and everything is still going great with it. Im not sure why I read that rentals are not good purchases but this was the best deal and I went to maybe 10 different places and my salesman was also great and patient and didnt pressure me into submitting an application for my credit. I really appreciated that instead of saying lets submit an application they showed me the cars FIRST.

Worst experience ever!!!! We were there for over 5 hours!!! Although we only test drove one car, and decided to buy it. So after 3 WEEKS of my daughter having this car and getting approved, and putting a down payment of $1000, to buy this vehicle, and selling her car, and paying for insurance, she was told that the finance company would not approve her loan because of her pay stubs, that them AND HERTZ used to APPROVE HER 3 weeks prior???

The whole experience was great. I got the car I requested and everything ran smoothly (including the car). After I returned the car a young gentleman drove me to the cruise terminal. Highly recommended. Thank you, Hertz!

Bought two car from here the past month. This place is like anywhere else concerning sales staff. Some will rub you wrong, some will treat you right. Salesman Jim West and the finance manager were great. The two cars I purchased were in great condition and prices very well. They were also very clean and tires in good shape. The only negative I am going to say is the rear bumpers on both cars were a little scratch up. Being former rental cars I understand this being parked in tight lots and it all goes back to price. I am sure you can pay more elsewhere for a car with no scratches on bumpers.

Because this dealership is so good the cars do not stay available for long. So I gave my parameters to Jim West and he found exactly what I wanted and then called me. I made arrangements and drove 6 hours to Tampa and am very glad I did. He and his team were wonderful to work with. I had some complications on my end and they found ways to resolve them all and quickly. I would (and have already) highly recommend Jim West and the team at Hertz Car Sales Tampa.

I usually dont post reviews, but I just bought a car from this lot yesterday and it was the best experience Ive ever had at a car dealership. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! I filled my credit application out online and was approved after 2 days. I dont have a lot of credit history so have a very low credit score and they were able to get me approved through a bank with a reasonable interest rate. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Ill definitely be going back for our next car purchase!

I bought my car in November, let me tell you this was the BEST decision I made with this company. Stephen was very patient with me and my multiple visits, never pressured me into anything and even reassured me of the options for warranties. We always rent from the Hertz location at the Tampa Marriott Waterside HLE. It costs much less than renting from the Hertz Tampa Airport, but the best thing is the quality of the service. There is never a wait, the representatives are friendly and efficient, you get the car you requested, and you are on your way in no time. Returning the car is just as fast and easy. Excellent in every aspect!

Ive bought several cars from his delearship. Each time the sales person was honest, patient and knowledgeable. They dont bombard you with information or use the usual sale tactics. Everything is straight forward. All of my cars were in great condition. For this last purchase the sales person that I worked with was Jean. He was highly professional, thoughtful and honest. He even called me later to ask how I was liking my car and to tell me that if I had any questions, I could call him. I highly recomment this place for purchasing a used vehicle.

Not the kind of car shopping experience that works for us.. While there are many details we could share, the long and short of it is from the parking lot to the office to the people, this is the shakedown style of car buying that we all despise. As we were beating a path to the exit, the finance manager stopped us and said we should go to CarMax and get a trade in appraisal and they at Hertz would match it. This was an awesome recommendation as we went to CarMax and from the parking lot to the office to the people, the experience was 180 degrees different from Hertz. My hats off to the finance manager at Hertz for recognizing whats wrong with their operation and having the customer service attitude to send us to the place where people are treated with the proper respect. Maybe this finance manager guy should go over to CarMax and apply for a job. He seems to be a good fit whereas the rest of them, especially Matt the sales manager, need to stay right where they are doing what they do as their one-sided attitudes are a perfect fit for Hertz Auto Sales.

My fault for not knowing better.... Just assumed that the 2017 would be tip top.... WRONG.... I know why the salesman didnt do a walk through with me. I had to ask if I needed to know any thing special like opening the gas tank etc. He ended up going over the interior items.I did not notice all the thousands of scratches from front, sides, back and the roof not to mention dings and chipped areas.Im a fool and blame me myself and I for this one..... But have to wonder why no walk around with the salesman.....

BUYER BEWAREI will never purchase a vehicle from this Hertz ever again. I should have known better. Their cars are packed tightly together, bumpers touching bumpers. I purchased a used 2015 Ford Focus with 38k miles. They wouldnt give me a gas card, so I had to leave the lot with my car on empty, and rush to find a gas station. For two weeks, after my purchase, they called me multiple times to check in on me and ask me if I know anyone who needs to buy a car. The third week of owning my car, my check engine light turned on. When I called the Hertz salesman who sold the car to me, he acted like he had no idea who I was. He told me I couldnt bring the car to the dealership, and to take it to a Ford dealership. Im at the mechanics, with a broken purge valve. $250! My bogus warranty that Hertz told me I just had to purchase doesnt even cover this repair.

After monitoring online the inventory of cars for a month or so, I was contacted by Rafael Pena and made arrangements to test drive 2 cars. Knowing with rental cars you will get a car with a few dents or scratches due to rental use. Rafael was able to answer all my questions regarding buying a certified used Hertz car. Rafael was polite, friendly and efficient. We did our test drives, decided to buy and was finished with all paperwork in about 2 hours. After 1 month of driving our 2017 Hyundai Elantra, we are still very happy with our decision to buy from Hertz Car Sales and would consider doing it again in the future. Thanks Rafael!

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. They strung me along for three weeks telling me a car wasnt there. I called daily regarding when the car would show up so I could get it. I put in an application for it as per Cory Stevens who said once I put in an application they would HOLD it for me. HIS WORDS. I put the application in as soon as we hung up the phone and had follow up conversations with him. I called again and again and the car was still not there. I finally spoke to Jade who told me the car had arrived and I told her I would like to move forward in the process. She said she would call me back asap. I waited. No call. I called the next morning and some guy who kept making excuses for them told me the car was already a few days before. WHAT HORRIBLE SERVICE. LIARS.These people shouldnt be employed if they cant return calls or texts and follow up or LIE to you!

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE. I am so disappointed with their entire sales process. It started with a sales representative, Jade, who spent our entire afternoon talking to me about her personal life and previous job while all Im trying to do was purchase my first car. Then followed by a finance manager, Srecko, who was not personable whatsoever. Then I drive off with my new car. Come to find out this branch did not gather all the necessary paperwork to complete this transaction (i.e. title from my previous car), so I was harassed daily at work by the sales representative, Srecko, and Matt, then once management was pulled in it I was told this is my responsibility, and my problem to get this taken care of ASAP. I even received a text that said we may mandate this car be returned. Then after 3-4 weeks of constant calling while Im at work, going to the DMV not once but twice to get this taken care of THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE ME ALL THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK. I waited an hour just for the DMV to tell me I would have to come back. Then today once I finally got everything taken care of bc they would not leave me alone about how urgent and time sensitive this matter is Rodney (highest manager) comes to my work to collect paperwork and doesnt even apologize, just takes the paper work and said thanks. How frustrating.. I was so excited to make my first purchase as an adult and this was my experience. I do not ever write reviews, especially bad experiences because I am a very understanding person - but this had to be documented. HERTZ you are absolutely horrible and I will make everyone in this area aware.

Jim West was awesome, I would give him 5 stars if this rating were about him. The evening I got my car, I was driving and saw a roach on my passenger floorboard only to find that my car is INFESTED with roaches. Absolutely disgusting. I understand that these were rental cars, but it needs to be addressed before selling the vehicle. I cannot even drive my car without seeing multiple roaches. Secondly, Before arriving to pick up my car, I was notified that my car was detailed and my tags were ready. Once I arrived I was told that my tag had been reassigned to another person the day and they were trying to get me a new one. Of course this took hours to do. Very unprofessional.

ROACH infestation!We checked out the car thoroughly in the daytime and drove it a bit.Everything seemed fine.When we paid for it and got it home after it was raining at night, the roaches starting coming out of the hood,door, and interior crevices. How could the detailers or repairmen who looked at the car thoroughly not have known?Go somewhere else and learn from what happened to us.

I used the Hertz in South Tampa on Kennedy BLVD at the Kuhn dealership. It was a Wonderful experience. Devin is really awesome and makes you feel like your the most important customer he has. Excellent service over the phone and in person everytime! Taha the intern was also pretty awesome great ride and customer service when he picked us up from our location. Thought after spending 2 hours setting up financing on a vehicle here on Saturday evening that coming back Monday to sign the paperwork would be a formaility. I understand that they dont hold cars, but if that was the case why didnt we seal the deal on Saturday? Instead I get a call this Monday on the way there that the car may have been sold to another party. I show up and that is what happened. No thanks to the alternative vehicle they tried to sell me today. Waste of my time and gas money. The prices are good but if you are not a cash buyer not worth the headache.

This was the first time buying a car through a dealership. I was expecting it to be a drag and was expecting to feel uncomfortable and pressured every step of the way. The salesman sold me a car that had a broken bumper that he claimed would be only a couple clips and a few dollars to fix however that few dollars turned out to be $1000 and they will NOT return my call on the matter. Everytime I call them they respond with the same phrase saying they’ll return the call after speaking to the general manager but don’t I am now on day 4 of calling them and I bought the car 5 days ago. Now I’m a good $1000 out and they won’t even acknowledge it. Very disappointed with my purchase. (Update) They have just called back asking for a picture of the estimate and damage. I’ll keep everyone posted. (Update) I forgot to post this update but for everyone’s knowledge they did “fix” the issue by having the bumper glued in place with epoxy, it was a very cheap fix that will only last temporarily as it is already starting to come off. I will be keeping my review at one star for the overall unprofessional response and the lack of consideration for the customer.

I recently bought a vehicle from Hertz and the experience couldnt have been more pleasant, low stress, and rewarding. When I walked into the dealership a half hour before closing time (and upset from a disappointing experience at another dealership just an hour earlier) I was apprehensive to say the least. But JIM WEST went out of his way to treat me like a valued customer before I actually was one. I sat in multiple cars, asked a million questions, and test drove my vehicle of choice all without issue or even a sigh of irritation from Jim, regardless of the fact that we were at the dealership well past closing time. He was honest and upfront about absolutely everything, from the types of cars I looked at to the way Hertz does business, and that type of genuine discourse is hard to come by (especially when it comes to purchasing big ticket items like cars and homes). Jim took care of me as thought I was a part of the family and thats definitely something Im never going to forget. Thank you Hertz for my lovely car and thank you, thank you, thank you Jim West for being absolutely amazing in every way!

I use to like Hertz, until they lied. they tell you they will give you your deposit back.. and its a lie!!!.. I will no longer recommend this company to no one.so for that they get 2 stars!! ENTERPRISE IS BETTER!!

Sat fir 15 minutes and couldn’t get any help. Plenty of sales associates but since had asked a question on line could only see the salesman who had answered and he was with another customer. Guess they don’t want to sell cars

Although I ended up buying a used vehicle from a personal friend, I definitely recommend this dealership. I visited their facility twice, and dealt with Rafael once and Mike once. Both were knowledgable, professional, and helpful.

Do not come here unless you want to be scammed. Not only did my salesman Mike try to bait and switch me which caused me financial loss, Mike also lied about my monthly payments saying they are $258 when actually it is $233 when I checked in calculator in using tax, to top it off the customer service is the worst. I saw a great car advertised, was told it was still available. I told the salesperson I want to buy it. He assured me it was mine. I gave my drivers license, put the car on my insurance, emailed my proof of insurance, and I was told by Mike I need to be physically at the dealership to sign paperwork cause documents had to be original. I am flying in from CA. He gave me the go ahead to fly over and even offered to pick me up from the bus station. ( I told him Im flying to Orlando and taking bus to Tampa Nov 10). I urged him I want to pay and sign before I came down and didnt understand why he wanted me to pay by money order near dealership up rather than debit card online. He then told me he is fedex the paperwork. I am waiting for FedEx when I find out my car has been sold to someone else. He tells me I have another car exactly the same with the exact same price....with a front end accident report. I called the manger and told them I do not believe they had the original advertised car in the first place. The manager refused to admit bait and switch tactic is wrong and refused to provide proof of originally advertised vehicle sold at advertised price.

Everything went off without a hitch. Convenient location, close to airport, but without the airport rental car rates. $15 taxi ride from airport, $8 Uber ride to airport.

BEWARE HERTZ WILL STEAL, CHEAT, LIE, AND DECEIVE YOU.Hertz sold me a certified car and ever since Ive gotten this car its been nothing but problems. Its a 2015 Nissan Sentra so it shouldnt be needing a bunch of maintenance(especially when they guarantee its 100% repaired) . When we got it the AC wasnt blowing cold. Mike assured us their auto company would fix it and hertz would cover the costs. Both of those statements were lies the company didnt fix it and they were very rude. And when we went to a new company and found out the ac compressor was completely busted all of the sudden hertz quit answering our phone calls. Since then weve had to replace the AC compressor, the battery, the oil, fix the locks on the door and now the check engine light has been on for 3 days now. 10/10 would not recommend hertz Mike and his manager are liars and cheats.

They are condescending, they would lie in your face, they are rude, their cars are overpriced and nobody in this office is professional or competent. It was the WORST car shopping experience in my life. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

All their cars are scratched and chipped. Too expensive for such damaged bodies.

Too much professional! They dont even allow test drive once they understand that youre not going to buy the car on that day!

I Was happy with the purchase, but did not appreciate how I was treated after.the purchase. Management resolved the issue, but I was upset with how Mr. West made me after the purchase, he made it difficult resolve an issue, and management had to get involved.

This is the place to buy a late model used car wholesale tothe public. One price workswhen its the right price.
