I traveled a long way to get there, passing the other local major supplier along the way. This shop had what I needed, and although I initially came off as fairly high-strung, the staff was patient and helpful. Many staffers helped assemble my order, and answered my billion questions so that I could make good choices. Thank you for excellent service! I bought a wide variety of supplies and came away excited to finish setting up my studio. Great place!

I have had very pleasant interaction with the employees. Customer service is wonderful. I also like the idea of ordering my stuff online and being able to just pick them up. This is a gem of a pottery store.

I was in a pinch for an upcoming show with glazes and Mirin (apologize if thats not the correct spelling) came through in the clutch to help me out! Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, even when I walk in 10 minutes before closing. I dont suggest doing that, but its a testament to how wonderful the people are!

Nirvana for potters. Laguna clay is my favorite, and they have many types. Nearly all of the staff were very, very courteous and eager to assist a novice like me.

Got stuck in traffic coming from Seattle - was picking up my order on the way out of town, the two staff I spoke to on the phone were SO helpful. They were also kind enough to carry my order outside ( 300# of clay + small dry chems ) and wait the 5-10 mins after closing to make sure I got it. Wish I had managed my time better to have had the chance to shop inside - will plan to stop through again on the next roadtrip 🖤 thanks again guys and keep up the great work 🖤

I had a great experience with the Clay Art Center in Tacoma! I ordered 50 lbs of Oregon Brown clay and a pint Black Cherry glaze over the phone. They were able to ship my products using the flat-rate shipping boxes which made a huge difference! Without that shipping method it wouldve been too expensive to ship-- took about a week to arrive. There was an issue with my order, but I called and Sarah took care of it right away! I will definitely be buying from them again based on both the products and awesome customer service!

Have a very difficult time getting over to Tacoma, and its about an hour and a half drive. Put an order in yesterday (Thursday) at 230. Today they called to say I could pick it up Monday. When I explained I was at the hospital in Tacoma visiting my mom, literally 10 min away, she said no, we require twenty four hrs.I told her I put the order in over 24 hours ago; she said it doesnt matter because they dont print the orders off until the next morning. They certainly act like they could care less about their customers. Im pretty disappointed.If there was a zero star option, Id use it.

They are very helpful when calling over the phone and in person. They will offer tour pottery equipment suggestions but not oversell you. They have been very helpful in our pottery selections, paint, and tools. They are also extremely knowledgeable.

Ive been ordering from Clay Art Center for years, both professionally and for my high school. The staff at Clay Art Center are knowledgeable, friendly, and give amazing customer service. Just recently I was given a bad batch of ceramic glaze. After a few quick emails with their staff, I was sent a brand new batch of glaze once the issue was figured out.

Came at 2:05 from Seattle on a Saturday. Needed clay for a project. I realized they closed at 2:00 (my mistake) that day, but wished they could have helped a brother out with staying open 5 minutes later to grab a few boxes of clay.It’s the little things. I have been a long time supporter, but this sorta makes me want to just make it easier and go to sps.

Great people. Great customer service. I travel further to do my clay needs shopping than the closer competitor because I enjoy my experience that much more.

I’ve been to Clay Art Center twice. Once to scout out a pottery wheel and the second to buy supplies. The first impression that I got from this place was enjoyable due to the easy to talk to staff. Recently I went back to buy supplies and the customer service was unpleasant. Sure the sales person was doing they’re job, but woof, can they loosen up and be friendly... I know everyone has bad days and everyone should live their life the way they want to. But be more courteous and patient with your customers!

This is my favorite clay supplier in all of the Seattle Olympia area. They are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I dont always find what Im looking for but they are always my first stop.

Staff is knowledgeable and great to work with. I was however quite upset when I drive there today and they were closed, no notice on the website. There were three other cars of people there wondering why the store wasnt open, this was at 1pm so I wonder how many others were not happy either. I recommend calling before you go.

Really excellent customer service. If they dont know, they find it out for you right then. Glaze makers are very skilled. Clay bodies very consistent and they have a complete range from earthenware to nice porcelains. Pretty much everybody on staff is willing to have a technical discussion with you. Couldnt be happier with my experience at CAC. Seems like these folks like their work.

I dont actual buy things here. My husband does. So Im with him. Or lately, picking up supplies others have ordered. Staff are very nice.

Buyer beware. I had been here a lot before, but never again. They mispriced items and when I brought it up to them they admitted they overcharged me, but would not refund me for their error. They treated me like I was a criminal looking to scam them when they overcharged me. The customer service is good or bad based on who you get and the person I got was rude and should never work with customers. They are always out of stock of random items and they will try and pressure you to buy their house brand of products. I try to be a good customer and I have never had a problem like this anywhere my entire life and I have never been treated as poorly as here. I recommend buying online for your needs as I will be doing in the future.
