Rating two stars because of a mixed experience. The only reason it is two stars and not one is because the bed is, so far, good and I am pleased with it. Three stars deducted for shady business practices.If you notice on the social media posts, when people ask for prices, he never answers them. Its always price start at ... then make an appointment to come see inventory.This is troublesome, because even when people ask about a specific bed in a specific size, there is no answer. There is no price transparency. I had a cordial back and forth with Ben about this about the importance of transparency, but it was clear he wouldnt budge. And he knows why. We all know why.Ben tried to say that he cant give prices because inventory changes and something might not be in stock. We are all grown ups and can handle something not in stock. But Mattress by Appointment is a large company and the manufacturer ships the same beds all over the place. There is zero legitimate reason, ONLY ILLEGITIMATE reasons for the lack of price transparency. When I commented on pictures of the exact bed I bought with the price I paid, guess what? BEN DELETED MY COMMENTS.We all know why. EVERYONE WHO GOES TO THE STORE IS POTENTIALLY GOING TO PAY A DIFFERENT PRICE. He sold me the nicest king size he carries and it cost $940. But there was no price displayed in store. How do we know if the price he is telling is really the price? We dont. I can guarantee the bed he sold me for $940 he has sold to others at different prices. Otherwise, why not just have the prices transparently posted on the inventory in-store? He will get every penny out of you that he can, rather than provide a positive customer experience through price transparency. Drive up in an $80,000 BMW? My $940 bed will probably be $1140.If youve ever traveled to Europe, youll notice many restaurants have menus posted outside with prices. This is to protect tourists, so that local and tourists pay the same price. So that there is no price fixing.I need another bed. But I wont be back here because you feel like a mark being taken advantage of. It doesnt matter if the value is good - a quality bed at a quality price - if you cant be honest and up front with your customers, you wont get my business. And thats unfortunate, because I like the bed I did buy.EDIT ON FEB. 16:I am adding this edit in response to a couple of things happening:First, Ben (the proprietor) has blocked me from commenting on any of his Facebook posts. In no post was I ever inconsiderate, rude, or otherwise inappropriate. I often tried to answer customer questions about pricing with what I paid for my bed when Ben wouldnt provide any price transparency. I hereby challenge Ben to provide a screenshot or any evidence where my behavior on his page was inappropriate. He wont find any.Second, notice that his response to my comment doesnt address ANY of the substance. Just take note everyone. He had a great opportunity to address legitimate and valid concerns regarding price transparency and completely ignored it.I am lowering my rating to one star because of the shady business practices regarding price transparency, and a willingness to block customers who are simply trying to help other customers.I wonder what reason there possibly could be that Ben doesnt want others to know how much they each paid for their particular bed? Could there be any reason at all? Hmm. Most likely: you are a mark. You dont get a set price, you get a price based on how much Ben thinks he can get from you.Before you go into this shop, identify what bed you want from his inventory you see in pictures, and the size, and ask for that specific price. You wont get it. Youll only get a verbal price after you show up and he sizes you up for your ability to pay. If he thinks you can pay more, your price will be more. If he thinks your ability to pay is less, hell still try to get as much from you as he can.But in no case will he be honest and provide an upfront price.

I had great experience, I love my mattress.

Great pricing. More selection than most other similar factory direct places. Purchased a 12 plush California King memory foam last year for much cheaper than what they sell for in retail stores (more than 60% off). The mattresses are not shipped rolled up in boxes (which shortens the products life), but instead as their normal shape, which I liked. This was my very first mattress purchased after two years of searching, and Ben was very helpful in explaining anything I needed to know. He also worked with me on a payment plan. Mattress was brand new, made about a month before I received it (according to the tag). Highly recommend.

Ben was super helpful and best way to truly buy a bed. Prices are better yet quality same or maybe even better. I have chronic pain and spent thousands on custom beds or the big known beds to still struggle. Bought a bed here and sleep is improved and seems quality is very high. This isnt a fancy place with a big store front to add to overhead which gets passed to customer. This is skipping all the middlemen. The attached manufacture tag on the mattress I purchased showed it was made 3 days before I purchased. Thats is great.
